Like the reviewer below me, I also don't understand the poor reviews.
I have normal nails & needed a base coat to protect my nails from yellowing. This has worked out beautifully for my needs!
-dries quickly -super-thin texture -light ridge-"smoothing" -maintains a longer manicure
I have combination-dry skin with flaky/dry patches (poor cell turnover rate) and moderately severe bouts of hormonal acne. This cleanser has swiftly become an integral part in my routine, revealing smoother, clearer skin in days without being overly harsh. Love it!
Nope, this cleanser does NOT foam or lather.
Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Quad Eyeshadow Precious Crown 026

Although I never use the shimmery black shade with silver microglitter, I find myself using the other shades (a trio of metallic jewel tones in blue, purple, and green) pretty frequently. I am cool-toned, pale & have dark hair/eyes for reference.
I like the soft texture of these shadows & that you can build them up or just wash them on for a more of a glowy stain. They are a BREEZE to blend & last all-day on me with a primer. If you are a total pigmentation junkie, these might NOT be for you. On the other hand, the semi-sheer, shimmering texture is what I find most likable about Rimmel's shadows.
I have been all about these little, bullet-shaped lipglosses for years. Shades have come and gone, but I enjoyed them all until they completely ran out!
Crystal Gloss' texture is thin-moderate, non-sticky, and moist with average staying power; also, every shade in the line has a yummy vanilla scent. I love that the sleek package fits nicely in my front jeans pockets.
I adore this shade--I am pink-toned & pale with chocolate hair and eyes. The brow pencil, Fabubrow Taupe, is an ash grey to mid-tone neutral brown shade that looks polished but never harsh on me, whether or not I have my hair natural (medium brown) or more dramatically dyed (natural black).
Another thing about the pencil formula I like is the waxiness--I don't even use eyebrow gel anymore now that this is in my essentials kit! It's also easy to blend and smudge, and lasts on me all day. A drugstore cheap-y gem!
I like that this hairspray provides soft and touchable hold; I love that it creates volume and even texture where none was before! Plus, I find the violet-based scent is actually far beyond tolerable and into the "that's nice" range.
The eco-hippie in me likes the mister-style pump (I try to avoid buying propellants), and the ex-vegan in me only semi-approves that Herbal Essences does not animal test but is a subdivision of P&G.
All in all, I think Tousle Me Hairspray has good holding-power & longevity, while remaining in line with the products advertised boasts of providing soft, flexible hold. Plus, seriously, it smells darned good. :-)
Treatments -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream

I have combination-dry (emphasis on dry) skin that tends to hormonal eruptions and generally looking dull/having a poor cell turnover rate. This product takes care of all that, plus I like the anti-aging benefits.
The key for me with this product is to apply only a pea-sized amount (or a thin layer) to my face after cleansing at night & to use a good broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. In my experience, this product is fantastic in delivering results (smoothing fine lines, refining pores, etc.). Plus, it makes you feel thrifty when you start comparing to similar products on the market. Well, maybe that's just me.
I am on my 2nd (soon to be 3rd) of this particular concealer in the shade Lighter Than Light, which is absolutely perfect on my skintone (pale, pink-based skintone/NW15 in MAC). It would also be suitable for more neutral-warm pale people in my opinion--the concealer itself is neutral.
The price is a bit higher than some of the pricier drugstore concealers, but the value is AWESOME. The concealer is highly pigmented, allowing you to use very little product. One jar usually lasts me at least a year.
I love the formula--it's smooth & stays put with a light dusting of powder all day (both on blemishes and under eye). I don't normally wear foundation, but I do have some redness/hormonal acne issues--with this concealer and a little powder, I look picture-perfect! So many facial products in my range go "ghost"/read white in flash photos, but not this one. Basically...I can't rave enough!
Oh, how I hate this night cream. The scent, although "natural," is unnaturally STRONG. It's what the term "old lady perfume" should mean in my mind.
I could have perhaps gotten over the scent as it fades, but it has other faults; the greasy texture feels like a film over my skin for sometimes hours on my combo-dry skintype. On top of that, it broke me out very badly! I am not talking retinol "purging" but full-on cystic acne.
My advice? Skip this product!
A good, basic ballet pink shade for me!
I have fair skin with pink undertones & pigmented (rosy) lips and this color, although lighter than my actual lip tone, is no nude on me. I can best describe it as a bright, light peachy or coral-pink cream.
I really love the way this color lights up my face, but it is a little too matte--by that I mean DRY! No real problems with lipbalm, but not ideal. :-)
I really disliked this scent. I bought it because I heard it was a dupe for Poison, but to me it smells like a synthesized version of Poison w/ a heavy added detergent note.
In the name of experiment, my friend also gave it a try that has very different tastes/chemistry (a great lover of spices and orientals), and she said it gave her a nasty headache & a detergent note. :X
Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Salvador Dali - Purplelight
BulkyDecorativeClock 2/4/2013 7:09:00 AM
Purplelight is a fresh, sweet, feminine green floral that bursts open (near-overwhelmingly) with lilac followed by hints of of musk, cherry blossom, bamboo leaf, vetiver, jasmine & almond tree.
Like most eau de toilettes, the sillage (ie: perfume trailing) is low.
This is a favorite scent of mine, with an interesting sculptural glass bottle to boot! I catch whiffs of it all day if I spray it on the nape area of my hair in the morning.
Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Mitchum Men Unscented Roll-On
BulkyDecorativeClock 2/4/2013 6:44:00 AM
I love this deodorant. It works extremely well &, unlike most deodorants, I do not find it irritating when I use it right after I have shaved.
It does take 1-2 minutes to dry, if that is something one finds bothersome, but, as others have mentioned, it is potent and dries down completely leaving no residue (or marks on clothing).
It is also nice to be able to purchase a mass-marketed deodorant that is not animal tested but is also an antiperspirant! Crystal deodorants, Tom's, etc. do not cut it for me!
Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil - brown
BulkyDecorativeClock 2/4/2013 5:44:00 AM
This shade is a flat/matte (not at all metallic in my opinion) brown-black once applied. It's the perfect everyday/basic liner for me with impressive staying-power.
Another plus is that the lead is hard enough that I can get a sharp point with a manual sharpener yet soft enough to apply the liner without skipping/dragging.
Moisturizers -Cerave - Facial Moisturizing Lotion - PM
BulkyDecorativeClock 2/4/2013 3:08:00 AM
I bought this after years of seeing it being raved about on this sites' forums. Despite my surprise about the texture (it's akin to a gel-serum hybrid-- nothing is comparable I can mention publically, to say the least), I love this stuff, and I am on my 3rd bottle.
I have combo dry skin that is very sensitive with bouts of hormonal acne, and this is THE perfect moisturizer for me. I like that it sinks in fairly quickly, leaving my skin feeling calm and soft & there's no added fragrance.
