Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base

I started looking for a primer after my skin was drying out, because of the weather, and my rather expensive Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation was started to look like a dry, scaly mess. I previously had Nude by Nature's mineral primer and found that it did absolutely nothing for me, except maybe make my skin even oilier on warm days. I can't say much for extending the life of my makeup, because Double Wear has some extreme staying power and won't budge no matter what the situation, but as for masking my pores and making my skin feel like satin, this product is absolutely brilliant! Because of the nature of the product, I can't say it would be too good for an every-day primer, as it's quite thick and the base ingredient seems to be silicon, but I have worn it for a week so far with no break outs. The matte feel makes my foundation go on so much smoother, allowing me to stipple it on and blend, rather than just smoosh it on my face and hope for the best, as I had been doing in the past. I would recommend this to normal/combo types or slightly oily types as it is very matte and would do quite well battling oil. There is also an oily version of this available but as I am more dry skinned I opted for the Normal version. Also, like the Asian version, the Australian one seems to be called Base Magique Priming Perfector, or something along those lines. The packaging is a plastic casing around the actual jar and when you take that off it is a nice, plain glass jar with a rose on the lid. I would repurchase this, although hopefully next time on sale because it was about $30AUD.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
rated 4 of 5

I was given a sample of this product by a lady at the Clinique counter as I have quite dry skin. She specifically told me that this is NOT to be used in place of a regular moisturizer, but instead under one. I followed her advice and used this before the Clinque Moisture Surge gel which I bought and the difference was incredible. Within 3 days my skin had repaired its self and I was able to apply my foundation (Estee Lauder Double Wear) without it drying up so rapidly, because my skin was no longer dry. The advice she gave me came in quite handy as I have noticed a few girls on here saying that the moisturized feeling did not last all day. This is because it is supposed to get down deeper into your pores and stop them from over-producing oils when you skin gets dry, but you need another one to moisturize the surface. So if you are having a lot of skin trouble I would definitely giving this one a go, but keep in mind you must use a moisturizer over it. It was a bit too expensive for me to purchase both moisturizers, but I will keep it in mind if my dry skin comes back.
