Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
Broke6969 2/7/2013 6:55:00 PM
Meh. This mascara isn't anything spectacular, but it's not bad, either. It seems to clump my lashes quite a bit and makes them stiff and flaky and just yucky. It doesn't add any remarkable length or volume, my lashes would almost look natural after one or two coats if it didn't clump them together so badly! The cost was fairly cheap and the packaging design is nice, but I wouldn't recommend it nor would I repurchase.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Tinted Lip Balm - Tiger Lily
Broke6969 2/7/2013 6:47:00 PM
Overall, this is a good lip product. It's moisturizing and has a sheer tint to it that's not overwhelming but isn't so sheer that it can't be seen. I like the color, it's a darker pink that looks nice with my fair NW15 complexion when I want to add a little bit of color. I would most likely repurchase this.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
Broke6969 2/7/2013 6:36:00 PM
Finally, I've found my HG blush! This gives me a beautiful, healthy glow and the color is so versatile that it really can work on any skin tone. It's a peachy color with golden shimmer, but the shimmer isn't even noticeable on skin. It is a bit pricey at $27, but it lasts YEARS. I've had it for 3 months and have hardly made a dent, and my friend has had it for two years and just ran out. The packaging is nice also, it's a simple black logo design and is compact enough to squeeze into my cluttered purse. I definitely recommend it to everyone!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
Broke6969 2/7/2013 6:23:00 PM
Oh. My. Golly. I LOVE this pallette! I love it so much! The colors are beautiful, pigmented, and super long-lasting, the brush it comes with is fantastic, and the primer potion is just God-sent. The colors are versatile and your can use them to create a simple natural look or a gorgeous dramatic smokey eye. At $50, it seems pricey, but since it comes with 12 shadows, that's about $4.17 per shadow, which is even cheaper than some drugstore brands (although they are a bit smaller). If you're on the fence about it, or the price turns your hair grey, I say just go for it. You really won't regret it!

Foundations -Revlon - Nearly Naked Foundation
Broke6969 2/7/2013 6:12:00 PM
I'd been lusting after Urban Decay's Naked Skin foundation for months when this came out. It was clearly a dupe and is only a fourth of the price of the UD foundation, so I bought it with high expectations (I got the color "Shell"). When I used it, I moisturized my skin with jojoba oil (awesome stuff, by the way!) and then primed with Bare Escentuals' Prime Time. I then poured a little bit of foundation on the back of my hand. The first thing I noticed was that it had a really watery consistency and a lot more product came out than I wanted, since it doesn't have a pump (which I absolutely hate). Then, I used a kabuki brush to blend it all over my face and down my neck. It's very light coverage and covered none of my pimples but did even out my skin tone nicely. It's also kind of moisturizing, so it would be great for dry skin but is just an annoyance for my super oily skin, so I concealed and then set it with Urban Decay's De-slick Mattifying Powder. Overall, it's a nice sheer-coverage foundation and a great dupe for UD's Naked Skin. It gives a natural yet dewy finish, comes in 16 shades, and only costs around $10. My only con is that it doesn't come with a pump, which normally equals an unhygienic mess. I recommend it!

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
Broke6969 1/11/2013 11:18:00 PM
This is my favorite Maybelline foundation. After a few hours into the day, my t-zone starts to look like the greasy beach of the BP oil spill, so their Fit Me makeup was too greasy, and the Dream Liquid Mousse clogged my pores and felt ultra-heavy. I picked up the Dream Matte Mousse on a whim from Target, since it was only $7.99. I got it in the shade "light 02" (I am a MAC NC25) and when I opened it I noticed that it was much darker than I expected, however, once I applied it with my fingers and let it set for a minute, it was probably the most perfect shade match I've ever had! It gave medium buildable coverage and feels SO lightweight - it didn't even feel like I was wearing any makeup! It didn't cover all of my spots, but it did even out my skin tone and my face just looked amazing! I set it with Maybelline Dream Matte powder and used a little bit of NARS Orgasm blush on the apples of my cheeks and then went off to school. When I checked my t-zone in the mirror about four hours later, I was slightly oily, but not nearly as bad as usual. I would recommend this foundation to anybody with mildly oily or combination skin!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
Broke6969 1/11/2013 10:51:00 PM
Having thoroughly explored the world of both high-end and drugstore mascaras, I can confidently say that Clump Crusher is a good quality mascara that holds true to its name. It never clumps, even after 5+ coats (no, I don't wear that much, I just wanted to test how well it worked!). It adds nice length and volume but doesn't look strange or spider-like. The wand is slightly curved with short, stubby bristles and it comes in two shades (or maybe Target only had two shades?), brown-black and black. I can't remember the exact price, but it was fairly average according to drugstore standards. The only negative thing is that it only holds a curl for a few hours, and then goes a little flat. I definitely recommend Clump Crusher for anyone looking for a low-priced good quality mascara! :)

Liquid -Sephora - Perfecting Cover Foundation
Broke6969 12/28/2012 8:51:00 PM
I'm so sad that this foundation doesn't work for me! It's fairly cheap (as far as high-end foundations go, at least) and wore beautifully! I applied it with my fingers, a sponge, and a flat-top brush and I found that my fingers have me the best coverage. It was dewy and made my skin radiant but felt very lightweight. I was thrilled with my skin. Until I woke up the next day. I was horrified to find the WORST breakout I have EVER had. It had to be from this foundation, considering I changed nothing else in my routine and it was the wrong time for a hormonal breakout. I am so bummed! I'm giving it to my mom, maybe it will work on different skin types!

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Naturals Multi-Vitamin Nourishing NIght Cream
Broke6969 12/28/2012 8:37:00 PM
I LOVE this product. My skin is oily in my T-zone and normal to dry (depending on the day) on my cheeks. I was looking for a night cream that moisturized but was not heavy, did not clog my pores or make me break out, and helped to fade past acne scars. I bought this on a whim at Target for around US$7.50 and had high expectations because I love the Naturals line. I have to say, I was not disappointed at all! Pros: -reasonably priced -snazzy glass container :) -natural, good-for-skin ingredients -cute fruity smell -actually faded my acne marks!! -didn't clog pores/break me out -moisturized without being too heavy -made my skin glow! Cons: -glass jar would probably break easily if dropped Overall, I absolutely recommend this product to anybody and everybody!
