The best base coat I have ever used. It was recommended to me by the owner of a nail supply store. He said it had rubber in the formula so it stretches as your grow and this keeps the polish from chipping. It goes on easily, dries fast and keeps the polish from chipping a week or more. It doesn't crack the polish like "Sticky" another fixative base coat. I only use one coat, with 2 coats of Essie or OPI and a top coat.
I wanted to like this fragrance because of its mystique.
But, I am afraid I can't. First the initial scent of orange blossom is strong. Not in a fresh way, but in heavy flower-water type way.
Afterwards, it dried down to something dark, sexy, clean and powdery. But not the smoldering sensuality of its reputation.
Nuit de Noel is still my favorite Caron. Very nice, from start to finish.
I found this product to be very hard to apply.
It sort of went on sheer, but seemed to settle in places. This made it look streaky. You could cover it up with extra coats, but that created a chalky, opaque effect. Not to mention the extra coats took a long time to dry.
Definitely not a do-it-yourself product. If you are not a good nail coat applicator, try Mademoiselle or Fed up.
Liquid -Prescriptives - Unmakeup Invisible Finish Foundation

Because I live in Florida, I am sensitive to how bad made-up faces look in the bright summer sun. Heavy foundation makes you older and yucky(there's no other word to describe it). So I am always looking for a great sheer foundation and this is the best so far.
Invisible Finish Foundation goes on sheer and smoothly, and disappears into my skin completely. There is no caking or heaviness. Best of all, the SA at Nordstrom's was very attentive, matching my complexion exactly. It doesn't get 5 lipsticks because Invisible Finish does not cover very well. I find that I have to touch up with concealer or put a second coat on any ruddy areas.
Lip Liners -Paula's Choice - Longlasting Lipliner - Anti-Feather Clear

The best lipliner on the market period. It keeps lipstick from bleeding and defines lips nicely. WITHOUT that obvious lip line that is so out of style. You can even wear it with lip gloss and it keeps the gloss put, defining the lips. All without that lip line.
I got this fragrance by accident and at first I didn't like. But, it is now my favorite. Why it's supposed to symbolize the twenties, the jazz age, and "all its riotous escapades," I don't know. This description probably came from the imagination of a beauty/advertising copywriter who did not were Nuit de Noel. Nuit de Noel is quiet, sophisticated, refined and unbelievably complex. It certainly has moneyed feel to it, evoking luxury and gracious living. But more furs, pearls and heavy gold bracelets than a long dress. (Although it's perfect for evening.) It feels better in cold weather and the dry down is to die for.
