Conditioner -Redken - Extreme Conditioner [REFORMULATED]
rated 5 of 5

Apparently this is different on everyone's hair because I can't believe a lot of the reviews, this is my HG protein conditioner and I have used them all. I love it so much I wish I could use it everyday. It doesn't seem like a protein conditioner at all, it makes my hair soft and slippery in the shower, no tangles whatsoever, and after a blow dry my hair feels silky and shiny. I have very fried bleached hair, it doesn't shine I have to use shine in a bottle, but with this conditioner it shines. Maybe something in this conditioner reacts with different people's other product differently, I don't know but I think it's AWESOME and I am very hard to please with conditioners.

Powder -Make Up For Ever - Duo Mat Powder foundation
rated 2 of 5
Bradiette 10/18/2009 8:19:00 PM

I have tried several shades and none were a perfect match for my NC 30-40 skin, they were too dark, too orange, too yellow. The coverage is good but once I look at my skin really close or in different light, I can see the makeup on my skin, easily. I have oily skin and as the the goes on this get really cakey on me, like it has to come completely off and go back on, that's not going to work for me. I think studio fix is a lot better that this, it stay nicer throughout the day and doesn't oxidize like this does.

Other -Boscia - Fresh Blotting Linens
rated 3 of 5
Bradiette 10/18/2009 8:00:00 PM

These are just ok for me, I prefer many other brands [Clean & Clear right now]. I often find myself using more than one and they can tear which makes them harder to use than the plastic kind. I also think the packaging could be better, this is the kind of thing I carry around with me and with 100 sheets I'm going to carry it for a while, the packaging should be something more than flimsy cardboard..

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium/Dark
rated 4 of 5
Bradiette 10/18/2009 7:43:00 PM

Although I have used this powder for the last decade [on top of studio fix powder], I don't love it, it's just the best I've found, and better than wasting money trying a bunch of others that are terrible. I have really oily skin and although this powder does a fin just blotting, I don't feel like it does anything to prevent future blotting. What I like: it doesn't pile up on the skin or cause other makeup to look cakey; it's as good as translucent even though it not called translucent anymore; I can use it 10 times a day; does a good job blotting oil and moisture What I don't like: I probably do have to use it 10 times a day; I break the powder all the time or when it gets low and you can see the bottom it breaks on its own; doesn't "control" oil; it can get ruined by oil/moisture on the powder puff My biggest peeve is that the powder gets ruined by the puff, and using a brush for quick touch ups and blotting is not practical, for a powder like this where the puff is going to pick up oil and moisture, the puff should really be stored under the powder. When the powder gets moisture in it I scrape off the top layer and that helps sometimes. I have also tried to see if I can get the powder into a studio fix compact with no luck. I'd love a recommendation on a really good blot/oil control powder where the puff isn't stored on the powder if anyone has one...

Eyeliner -NARS - Pencil in Kitty
rated 5 of 5
Bradiette 10/18/2009 3:09:00 PM

Honestly I don't even know why I own this eyeliner because every other eyeliner I own is black or gray. I guess I got it because I had a girlfriend who was a makeup artist for NARS and I thought it was a cool color. Sephora calls it turquoise blue but I would describe it like a sky electric blue, it's bright and not as turquoisey as it looks in the picture, it doesn't have that green in it. So I love the color but it's not the kind of thing I would wear, but I do wear it! I love it with a shimmery brown or bronze eyeshadow, I think it's really fun and different and it's not as obnoxious as it looks. NARS eyeliners in general are pretty great they go on nicely and stay on until you want them off, and I've never broken one.

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Super Skinny Serum
rated 3 of 5
Bradiette 10/18/2009 2:56:00 PM

I used to use this a few years ago, went through several bottles and was really happy with it, but I had moved on. After reading the reviews on here recently though I was re-sold on it and dug out an old bottle of the stuff. I've been using it here and there for a few weeks and I'm feeling pretty indifferent about it. I don't know if my hair has changed now or what, but it's just not doing it for me like it used to. It's alright but I am preferring ion silk drops and a straightening serum lately.

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
rated 4 of 5
Bradiette 10/18/2009 2:49:00 PM

This was my HG for years and years, but I strayed for awhile when I would hear about another good product or had to buy something else in an emergency, but nothing else was as good. I started using it regularly again about 2 years ago and I still like it, but it's just don't like it used to be. I don't know if this is due to reformulation or the fact that it's so widely available now that I'm buying it at Target or Walgreens or wherever, but it's lost its HG status and I'm so sad. I hope they go back to the old formula because it made my dry, fried, bleached hair look healthy, it was like a miracle product. I think I actually prefer the Ion Drops compare to the new formula. I've been alternating this with the Ion Drops for awhile and I think I prefer Ion to the new Biosilk formula, but this is still better then almost every other shine serum I have used.

Styling Products -Alterna - Caviar Anti-Aging Shine & Define Spray
rated 5 of 5
Bradiette 10/18/2009 2:36:00 PM

I love this product! Before discovering this I used hairspray to smooth down some breakage and a shine spray, this does both! The shine it gives hair is not greasy looking like so many other sprays or serums can be. If I do have stubborn fly aways near my roots I still use hairspray sometimes though because too much of this up top can make roots appear greasy.

Polishes -Hard Candy - nail polish
rated 5 of 5
Bradiette 10/18/2009 2:13:00 PM

I don't know if it's been reformulated now that it's sold at Walmart but I used to buy this polish when Sephora sold it and it's my favorite, it stays shiny, doesn't chip, and goes on really smooth,

I love this polish and this color! The color is fun and cute and the quality of the polish is probably the best I've used as far as not chipping and staying shiny.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Glossimer
rated 5 of 5
Bradiette 10/17/2009 3:00:00 PM

I love Glossimer, it's onle of my favorites because I love lip gloss but not always the feel of it, Glossimer feels like Chanel! It's smooth an silky and has the stickiness necessary for it so stay on, but it doesn't feel sticky or goopy. My only complaint is that they discontinued a bunch of my favorite colors!

I loved the way this looked but both tubes I bought were really flakey during the day and my eyes were getting irritated. I switched the the waterproof formula though and my problem was solved, I love it!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #190 Foundation Brush
rated 4 of 5
Bradiette 10/17/2009 3:36:00 AM

I like this brush a lot, the quality is great, I've had the brush for probably 7 or 8 years and it's in perfect condition. I do find that it can leave liquid foundation streaky but I very rarely use liquid foundation. I like this brush for applying studio fix powder and for touching up concealer when a smaller concealer brush may have left the concealer streaky. It's a great value for its versatility and how long it has lasted.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
rated 4 of 5
Bradiette 10/17/2009 3:28:00 AM

I also have this in an SE brush, and I think the quality is lower that the full sized brush. Or maybe the age of my brush makes it feel not as nice as full sized ones I have used? I do really like the brush, it's easy to use and blends nicely. I also have to give it credit for quality workmanship, I really appreciate having things that don't need to be replaces all the time and I have had this brush since '02 or '03.
