Primer/ Corrector -Korres - Quercetin & Oak Antiageing Face Primer
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 5/5/2013 4:13:00 PM

I would only consider this primer with Korres Foundation. Otherwise why bother. If you are looking for a primer to correct your skin tone or color this won't do it. But it will make the Korres foundation last a little longer and benefit your dry skin. See the Foundation review to understand what I mean. This primer is not your typical primer. No Cones, NO Sulfates NO Fragrances, No Dyes, NO Petro Chemicals to clog pores, No Sulfates, No... not sure but I know the list is long. And because it has all these NOooooosss. It means it is not going to work the way you might imagine a primer to work. It is not going to color correct or fill in fine lines. It is not going to provide a base for the makeup but rather is is going to provide a healthy base that any good moisturizer should do. I think it definitely makes my skin feel better. I have dry, sensitive, roaseac and acne scarred skin. My skin needs something gentle and this is definitely an option. Will this primer work with other foundations? I tried it with ELDW, Clarins and Revlon... Nothing! It did nothing special. If your goal is to go natural and no cones this will be great and you will love it with the Korres foundations.

Foundations -Korres - Quercetin & Oak Antiageing Foundation

Korres Ouercetin & Oak Anitageing Foundation If you are looking for a healthy choice for your skin this is it. Dry? You will love this product. Lasted only about 4 hours on me, breathable felt wonderful on my skin, (There is no doubt your skins health will improve) and the coverage is sheer to light. It made my skin feel moist, dewy, glowy without looking mask like. It did not dry me out. It was wonderful as far as making my skin feel pretty. Lasting power? Maybe 4 hours with the primer. Someone will try to tell you it is a medium coverage foundation that last all day. NOT AT ALL. This is a light sheer cover that does not cover imperfections. However it definitely improves your skin tone, color and feel. I tried this with the primer and without and the primer helped but this is not my HG. This is a perfect foundation for a woman who does not have roseaca, acne scars or textured skin. I have all three. So this is not my HG. Sad because it definitely made my skin feel better and for someone sensitive like me, it was wonderful. A breath of fresh air, a glass of water in the desert. Lovely!!!!. Truly a lovely foundation for a dry acne free aging face who does not want a heavy mask. Perfect foundation for someone with mild acne that wants to go healthy and natural. On my lower cheeks I have orange peel type skin. It is mild but I need a full cover to really hide that area. I also found you could not build the coverage with Korres. It is just too light. The color options were fantastic and plentiful. Blended well into my very light NC20 skin color. I chose 05 bisque but Porcelain looked super too. You can find your shade. If you are in Sephora definitely get a sample. Your skin will love it. There are NO CONES ! No Parabens, No Sulfates and No Phthalates Healthy for your skin and perfect for someone looking to battle fine lines and wants a light cover.

BB Cream -Clarins - BB Skin Perfecting Cream SPF 25
rated 4 of 5
Boxerface 4/7/2013 3:01:00 PM

I love this BB cream. And I have tried the pricey ones. Omorovicza is one of those pricey ones. Clarins is as wonderful as Omorovicza but far far cheaper. Clarins is about $40 Pros: Price worth every penny Texture and feel is not sticky, Glides on thick but creates a dewy look. Shiny but not oily. This is not matte. Long lasting. This is not a foundation but it lasts pretty good Hydrates and moisturizes my skin Evens skin tone out. I have mild roseaca and reddish ruddy complexion. My skin has a mild texture, some wrinkles and lines that need to be filled and smoothed out. Think orange peel texture (not quite as bad but I do need coverage) Sunscreen Cons: Poor shade selection ( Sadly, BB creams all do this.) Not a light enough color for those us who are (ELDW Bone, MAC NC20 , NW20, Porcelain, Ivory, Pale , Because of this I can not use this BB cream. Hugely disappointed but I had to share that this is a SUPER product if you are a medium skin tone or dark skin tones. You will love this product. Those who are in the MAC NC35, NW 40, ELDW Softan, Dior Dark Beige 50 , Lancome Suede 450, Shishedo Deep Ivory... will looooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeee this BB cream!

Palettes -Urban Decay - Naked Basics
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 4/7/2013 8:19:00 AM

The best matte shadow product on the planet. Love this shadow combination. It is your primary infrastructure to your eyes. Hence, the name is Naked Basics. You can create simple, or elegant or dramatic or classic or powerful eyes or truly any style you want with this essential primary base. If you are in your 40s looking for no shimmer or sparkle and a shadow that will enhance your eyes this is IT!!!! You do not need to be a talented make up artist to create beautiful eyes. There are no sparkles or any inappropriate glitter that would detract from the eye. A true to form matte finish that lasts. PROS: Lasting Power Buttery soft texture blends beautifully on my lids Does not leave creases. (I have hooded eyes I know crease issues) Colors work for any skin tone Cool, Warm, Dark, Light, .. works!!!! I use this as an eyeliner that is how great it works. I got mine for $15.00 a steal as a singe UD shadow is $18 CONS Tiny! This is a small compact not like NAKED2 I wish there were more colors... I know this is their basic pack but even one shimmer copper would be wonderful...Okay I am asking too much\. Will I buy this again? Heck YES! And I have already bought..... Suspect Chopper Tease (this was one too much like faint) Hijack (daughter just stole this from me as she loves it) Shattered

Blush -Artdeco - blush #39 (Orange rosewood)
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 3/30/2013 8:34:00 PM

My review is for Raspberry Blush #330.33 GORGEOUS!!!! That is how I feel and the compliments I have gotten. GORGEOUS! Normally I lean toward warm colors but this pink raspberry made my skin look lovely. This is actually my daughter's blush but I have stolen it. She is a cool toned girl. This blush is one you can slowly layer to create drama or a few strokes adds a gentle healthy glow. Staying power is the best I have seen in a blush. The texture is soft powdery but not like a compact of pressed powder. Imagine a soft pigment of chalk or super soft talc. When you first put it on you might think it is blah, no color or not dramatic enough. Hold your horses. Go to the daylight or more natural lighting and watch the way your skin looks. It gives a natural elegant look. Like you just laughed really hard at a good joke or the soft glow when you feel really beautiful. I love this blush! I am on to order a few more colors. The one I am wishing for is called Depp Brown Orange blush. Perfect for summer.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear (new formula 2012)
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 3/30/2013 8:14:00 PM

I have been using ELDW for at least 18 years maybe longer. This new version is even better. Honestly it is the best thing they could have done was reconfigure the ingredients or take out some. It is beautiful. I think the heavy spf in the past version gave a casper ghost like appearance in photographs. Thankfully that does not happen anymore. Ghosts are gone!!! Pros: Great coverage, Lasts all day 6-8 hours, gives a flawless finish that looks matte not dewy. Covers and fills lines and pores. Offers more cool tone shades. I love the warm based ones. Does not break me out, fine for sensitive skin and covers roseaca. It covers anything you dislike on your face. It is the best on the planet. Cons: Difficult to remove. Find a good oil cleanser that will help soften the skin prior to cleansing. This may be too heavy if you are looking for a dewy shiny look. If you are looking for a light coverage this is not it, DW is matte and heavy based. This is a heavy foundation that can cover anything and lasts at least 6-8 hours. My skin is now on the average dry side. My skin is super sensitive with mild roseaca. I have a slight texture to my skin. Not quite like orange peels but definitley not perfectly smooth. DW covers it beautifully. If you have acne, blemishes or a ruddy red complexion you will love DW. Doublewear will cover anything and it lasts all day. My skin is also very light. I used to use LINEN but the fools at EL discontinued this and now I need to mix Bone W1 with Sand W2. I am not totally pleased with the shade options. I miss my Linen but with the good comes the bad. The good being Ghosts are gone bad being no Linen. This foundation gives a polished flawless finish. You do not need a primer. It is as though a primer is built in. I only use a foundation brush to apply . With a brush you can have a feathering light approach to putting it on. A little goes a long way. You can also layer this foundation. And it dries fairly quickly. Swing by an EL counter and try it out. Have them try half your face with your best shade and you will be stunned how great you look.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Deep Action Cream Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 3/30/2013 6:17:00 PM

Whoaaaa Nelly. This stuff will strip any good oils on your skin right off. I found this to be toooooo harsh. And sadly you think it is doing the trick at first. You feel squeaky clean and fresh but the reality is the natural barrier of your skins healthy cells is now stripped leaving your skin more vulnerable to break outs and pain. If you have sensitive skin you might find this even painful. Maybe those who are super oil slicks might find this cleanser okay. But keep in mind the more you strip your skin of natural oils the oilier it gets. It is like the skin is confused and produces more oil. Even if you are oily this may be too harsh. If you must use it, I would say use it once every three days.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences - Color Me Happy
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 3/30/2013 6:12:00 PM

I love the Sexy, Fruity, Fun, and pretty scent. I love the way my hair feels after I use this.It lathers wonderfully. I also use the Clairol matching Color me Happy conditioner . Not every day. Usually every other day. In the summer even less. That too has a lovely smell. I color my hair and I can honestly say I am not sure this keeps the color vibrant but it does make my hair feel beautiful. If you are looking for a shampoo for dry hair, this is NOT it. I love this but I have oily hair and need the squeaky clean feel this gives after washing. I do think the conditioner does a great job keeping frizz away and making my waves (I tend to have very light waves to my hair) soft. Highly recommend this shampoo. Inexpensive and does the trick. I will always buy this when I see it!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Infallible Eyeshadow - 05 Purple Obsession
rated 1 of 5
Boxerface 3/30/2013 2:27:00 PM

Sadly this is one of the foolish mistakes. You are running errands and happen to be at Target or Walmart or the grocery store,. You see a beautiful display of L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows. You look at the display but are unable to really touch any as nothing is open to try. You have to guess, look and read the signs that beg you to buy. You grab one. You think, " I'll get the purple one as I don't have many of those and it's only $8.00. " You can't decide between the chocolate or the purple. Maybe the green? No get the purple your inner voice tells you. Then you get home open it up and try it on. Excited even! Trying to make it work. You notice it has nice texture. It seems powedery. Soft even. You think the pigment is going to be striking. The powder finish is fine but not pressed. It is soft, not quite like butter more like baking soda. You use a little primer, you pull out your favorite shadow brushes. You get fall out on to your face. The area you can't stand to have fall out as your dark circles look worse. It is the end of the day and you are tired. You try to get it off, you pull out your concealor and convince yourself this is pretty good. The color is pretty. It is going to be great. Infallible right?????? Reality sets in day two maybe day 4 and this is not at all what you thought at the grocey store. What were you thinking?????? This is garbage. This product does not go on smoothly. It does not last. Crease city!!!! And it is definitely FALLIBLE! And you realize you should have saved your money. For only $5 more you could have bought Urban Decay or Nars or even $10 more and gotten a long wearing, long lasting elegant purple by Dior. My advice is save your money and go to a Mac counter or Sephora or even Macy's to find a better quality longer lasting, less fall out shadow that will be truly Infallible.

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
rated 1 of 5
Boxerface 3/30/2013 2:17:00 PM

For the price and for what it does this is an average product. Nothing spectacular and nothing horrific either. If you have no other options and can only afford this, you can make it work. You will need a good moisturizer before and good cleanser after. You might need a nice primer tooo. Otherwise it will slide off your face if you have any oil whatsover. There are better products on the market. When I think of Maybelline, I think of practice make up. Meaning this is a great stocking stuffer for a 11 year old girl to practice with. It is cheap and can be thrown away. When she is older 16 she will need to graduate to better products on the maket that will help her skin and make her glow. Pros: Cheap Easy to find anywhere even the grocery store Basic colors are available and mixed you might be able to get this to work. Goes on smoothly, no rough texture. Cons.... Does not last Can create break outs (on my daughter it did) Does not work with dry skin or overly oily skin Oxidizes making an orange cast to the tone of color Careful when applying to cover everything as it has a tendency to look patchy If you have sensitive skin this is not the one for you. Does not cover acne or problem areas

Liquid -Clarins - Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Boxerface 3/30/2013 1:53:00 PM

This is a beautiful foundation. If you are looking for a light weight, gentle to the skin, dewy finish that gives a subtle glow and works with dry sensitive skin....This is IT. But... this does not last long. Maybe 3 hours. A primer might help and maybe a concealor for those areas that need to be covered better. This is a light weight foundation. I repeat this is a light weight foundation so do not expect great coverage. Just know that this foundation will enhance but won't truly cover. It is light diffusing so makes ugly areas: wrinkles, lines, pores and rough skin, disappear. Well, almost disappear. This has a very soft texture that blends easily. Although it feels matte, it has a luminous finish that was too shiny. For those with an oily t-zone I think this may not work. Maybe blotting papers or touch up powder could help. The package is awesome. I love built in pumps that distribute easily and just the right dot or the right blob depending on what you feel like or what you need. I wish all cosmetic companies invested in good pumps and bottles. I won't get this again because of my skin type. I am looking for a foundation with a heavier coverage that can cover ruddy tones (roseaca, acne scars) and work with my yellow base skin tone. This foundation leans to the cool colors at least on me it did. For the price there are cheaper foundations that do the same. Stilla, Lorac, Cover Girl, MakeupForever, Laura Mercier Silk Cream....Ask the cosmetic counter for a sample to see if this is the one before investing.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Loaded
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 3/29/2013 6:10:00 PM

This is a fantastic eye shadow. The velvet soft powder finish is slightly shiny with a satin touch. NOt glittery. Love it. It looks phenominal on brown eyes. Blends wonderfully to create a dramatic look or day time subtle for work. This shadow lasts easily 12 hours. Probably longer but I wash it off before bed. The pigment is such that you can use a light touch or go heavy. I actually wet my eyeshadow brush and find it blends beautifully. You can put this on dry or wet it works. I am told that the primer makes it last even longer or for those girls with oily lids. This stuff is so great, I do not need a primer! Crease issues? None at all. I found it to be soft and did not crease on my deeply hooded lids and boy did it last. Truly Lasts.... Oh I must tell you I even use this as a liner. I dip my liner brush in water and then into the pigment and it paints like a liner. Works wonderfully. Other beautiful blue green shades....Swimming pool, Hijack, Mermaid blue....

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner
rated 2 of 5
Boxerface 1/27/2013 8:42:00 AM

I think there are better liquid liners on the market. This is just OKAY not great, not terrible, just meh. The pros: The brush is super thin and can make sparse eye lashes look fuller because of the ability to get to the eyelash line. For women with thin tiny lashes this is helpful. The color is beautiful. I chose a brown and it is true to a dark brown. Easy to use handle. Especially if you are new at wings. The cons: Overpriced for the amount in the container. $8.00 for 0.08 fluid oz The negative about the thin brush is if you want to use a thicker line, you can not get into the tiny bottle with a larger brush. You have to love the brush that comes with this bottle. Lasting power is okay. Better than a pencil but not better than other liquid liners on the market.

Loose Powders -L'Oreal - Hydra Perfecte Loose Powder
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 1/27/2013 8:30:00 AM

I am SHOCKED and in AWE of how great this is.... I have been wasting my money on EL Lucidity Transluscent Loose powder. FOOL..( Knock on forehead.) FOOL... Don't get me wrong. Lucidity is pretty nice. Smooth, soft and even gives off a sublte shimmer that helps reflect light to make my skin even prettier. However at $36 per little box it is too much. My new HG loose powder is Hydra Perfecte! On a whim..while at Target I bought the Hydra Perfecte Loose Powder by L'Oreal. I love it! I have only used this only a short time. I think I am in love with the way it softens my skin without giving me the old lady powder look. It is gentle and a tiny bit goes a long way. I use this over Clarins Extra Firming foundation. Just a gentle sweep of giant powder brush keeps my makeup looking pretty. It is not dusty but soft looking. It keeps my foundation perfect. Seriously. I have not had this before so I guess i did not know a powder could really do this. And it shoud do this, it should. The texture is the softest of powders I have ever felt. I am using the lightest color 917 but it is actually a bit darker than what I am used too. No worries it works and looks perfect. The powder lasts... I have a tiny fear this could cause break outs. And won't hesitate to change my rating if this is the case. So far so good. I am still not sure why it is called Hydra. Does it hydrate? I doubt it. Will I buy this again? You bet. As longs as it does not break me out and continues to match my skin I am keeping this in stock.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 1/27/2013 8:13:00 AM

Revlon colorstay in Brazen. Let me start with what I like about this eye shadow. The colors are divine. I bought brazen and it is a perfect warm palatte. I love the texture of the shadow. Soft, buttery, and smooth to the touch. The matte colors are Beautiful. Simply Beautiful! The shadow does not flake or powder off your lid. And I love that it does not get stuck in the creases of your lids. For a lady with a hooded lid this is a good thing. It stays where you put it. I do not like the lack of lasting power. Why do they say ColorStay? It does not last! It lasted maybe 4 hours for me. And I am too busy to reapply shadow throughout my day or evening. I think it is overpriced for what you are getting. I paid $7.99. Too much. I should have saved my pennies and just bought the Urban Decay. UD has far better lasting power. My daughter and I were at target and I foolishly wandered over to the cosemtic ailes where I wasted money on this and a few other goodies. Why do I do this??? Is it the never ending hunt for the holy grail? The belief that just maybe there is a treasure hidden in a drug store aile of make up? I have found treasures before and I promise you I will do this all over again the next time I happen to find myself distracted by the lure of pretty packages... Save your money...of if this is all you can afford try it with a primer. Maybe that might make it last.... hmmmmm I need to do this.....
