Polishes -OPI - Pink Friday
BonnieD 1/3/2012 12:49:00 AM
Pink Friday is a bubblegum/eraser-like shade of pink creme polish. I can totally see why this is in the Nicki Minaj collection, as Nicki herself is a 'Barbie' and this pink does remind a lot of Barbie when I look at it. Totally cute! Out of my collection of 200+ polishes, im really surprised I did my encounter a dupe. Applying this polish, I found the formula just slightly on the thick side, but I encountered no issues. You can probably do with 2 slightly thicker coats, or 3 normal coats for full opacity. I wore this polish for a good 5 days before I encountered minor tip wear. I had used a base and top coat. A pretty decent longevity for polish. Removal of this polish was a breeze, as it is a creme shade. Overall, I love Pink Friday. I might be a little biased here as I love Nicki Minaj and have been eagerly anticipating the release of this collection. Considering how did not find a dupe of this polish in my collection , I recommend trying Pink Friday out. I would not repurchase since I never finished an entire bottle of polish before

Polishes -OPI - Did It On 'Em
BonnieD 1/3/2012 12:35:00 AM
When looking at the photos of the Nicki Minaj OPI collection, I thought that Did It On Em' would be a dupe for OPI's 'Who The Shrek Are You?' from their Shrek collection. I was contemplating buying Did It On 'Em when I saw in finally in person since in the bottle it looks like Who The Shrek Are You. I ended up buying it :) Did It On 'Em is a chartreuse creme shade. The formula for this polish was a little thick, and there was streaking. It required me 3 coats for opacity and coverage. I own OPI's 'Who The Shrek Are You?' and 'Fiercly Fiona' and I ended up swatching these two with 'Did It On 'Em' in the middle. Wow! Let's just say Did It On 'Em would be the color made if Who The Shrek Are You? and Fiercly Fiona both were combined! As for the longevity of Did It On 'Em, this manicure lasted me 5 days with visible signs of very slight tip wear. I used a base and top coat along with it. Quite a decent duration of wear time considering I frequently change my manicure. Removal of this polish was a breeze as with any other creme polish. While I own Who The Shrek Are You? and Did It On 'Em, I recommend getting Did It On 'Em of you have missed out on getting Who The Shrek Are You? I do not find it necessary to own both shades as they are nearly identical. Did It On 'Em is a love or hate shade, as some will find this shade too odd to be worn on nails. It is sure to grab attention as it is leaning on the neon side, but not quite at the same time. I definitely see this as a spring or summer shade, however Did It On 'Em can be worn year round.

Polishes -OPI - Super Bass Shatter
BonnieD 1/1/2012 10:12:00 PM
Let me start off by saying that I love Nicki Minaj, and I was super excited for this OPI collection! I went to trade secrets at my local mall and I was in for a surprise - the Nicki Minaj OPI collection was released about a month earlier than the expected release date, and this is how I ended up with Super Bass Shatter! Super bass shatter is a grape-like shade of purple shatter with shimmer infused. I own all shades of OPI shatter and this is one of the best. The formula is not thick, and hopefully will not become as goopy as the other shades of shatter unfortunately become, but there's nothing that a little bit of polish thinner can't fix. The application for Super Bass Shatter was a breeze, the polish shattered perfectly and was overall pretty consistent for my entire manicure. The first time I used Super Bass Shatter I had OPI's 'Did It On 'Em' (which is also from the Nicki Minaj OPI collection) as the base colour and it is a wonderful combination! As with all shades of shatter, a thicker coat will result in less shattering of the polish on the nail. A thinner coat results in more shattering of the polish on your nail. Remember to make sure the base color polish is completely dry before applying the shatter, and as with all other shatter polishes only one coat should be applied. Combined with a top coat, the manicure lasted about a week with just slight tip wear. Of course, I also used a base coat with this manicure. Removal of Super Bass Shatter was a breeze. I used acetone free remover to remove it and it still came off easily. Overall, I believe that Super Bass Shatter can be combined with countless combinations of base color and will look absolutely unique. I also love how this is the only OPI shatter to have a unique name! I have never finished an entire bottle of nail polish, so I personally would not repurchase as I might not need to. Though OPI polishes are rather expensive in price, it will be worth it to get Super Bass Shatter!

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
BonnieD 1/1/2012 9:55:00 PM
I bought cherry me which looked fantastic on my lips. Now I'm not sure of anyone knows if the claims of this lip balm on the back of the package are actually true - I find this as another decent lip balm, and is honestly a bit overhyped. Everywhere I go, this product is sold out. I live in Canada and the price can be relatively high for one of these - as high as $6.99!!!! If I get the chance to I'd try other shades, but I find that cherry me is just another regular lip balm with a slight tint

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in 659 Turquoise
BonnieD 10/31/2011 9:51:00 PM
You certainly can't go wrong with this liner. First, this pencil is longer than any regular one, meaning you get more product. Also, the price is exceptionally low, this is probably one of the most affordable liners ever. For such a small price, this product works wonders. The colour payoff is amazing, not to mention this liner lasts for me on my eyes! The shade is so beautiful, I just could not pass without purchasing it. This product is a perfect example of not having to look any further than your average drugstore beauty brands in order to find exceptional products for a low price. This is what I would call a beauty steal!

Eyeliner -Bonne Bell - Eye definer
BonnieD 10/31/2011 9:42:00 PM
Been using eye definer since I was a tween, and I absolutely love them. I literally have all the shades available, and these can be found at such an affordable price! The white one does a great job for lining the waterline for an awake, bigger-eyed look. The other shades work really well too for all your needs in an eyeliner. Eye Definer works exceptionally well, and sometimes even better than some high end brands! This comes to show that we may overlook great beauty buys which are pretty much right in front of us. Definitely will repurchase or purchase more shades if they come out, and I absolutely recommend!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Charmed Life
BonnieD 10/31/2011 9:36:00 PM
My favorite scent from B&BW at the moment. I use nothing else. I fell in love with the $1 preview of the body lotion, and now I plan on getting the body spray, a full sized lotion and possibly the showe gel as well. A little bit of this product goes a long way - the scent still lingers on my skin even many hours after application! If you're into sweet scents, this one is for you. Will definitely repurchase for sure without hesitation, and I definitely do recommend!

Polishes -OPI - Rainbow Connection
BonnieD 10/30/2011 10:03:00 PM
This was the shade in the OPI Muppets Holiday 2011 collection that immediately caught my eye! I immediately rushed to the store to get this polish, but was devastated once I got to the store and it was sold out! However, the week after than I ended up hunting this polish down and luckily found it! Rainbow Connection is a clear based polish jam packed with circular-shaped and hexagonal-shaped glitter/sparkles, with the sparkles in pink, orange, silver, green, and blue. I find this polish is best as a top coat over any shade of polish you desire - it works with pretty much any shade as the base! The first time used it, I had Nicole by OPI's Justin Bieber collection 'My Lifesaver' as the base colour. The application was a breeze, there were no troubles and much to my surprise once this polish dries, it dries rather smoothly on the nail, compared to the rough texture of glitter nail polishes once they're dried. Of course, applying a clear top coat would make the finish even smoother. Many people noticed my nails from a mile away, many complimenting them and asking where I got my nails done! This is such a great holiday colour, especially if it's paired with red, green, or gold as the base colour! I would imagine that this polish would work for every skin tone. This is such a fun polish, and worth every penny. OPI polishes are rather expensive, however I would totally repurchase since I am absolutely in love! I definitely recommend, and I am even planning on buying back up bottles because I heard this is the shade that is the best seller of the entire collection and will be rather difficult to find in stores! This polish is so beautiful and perfect for the holiday season, however; don't limit yourself to using it only for the holidays! This polish is perfect year round! I will likely update on the wear longevity of this polish on my nails, since I have only had this polish on for three days. So far so good! No signs of wear yet! EDIT: If you have ever worn glitter polish, you must know how much difficulty it is to remove all those pesky little glitters! I decided that it would be helpful to leave some glitter polish removing tips, so don't turn away from glitter polishes just because your encounters with removing them haven't been pleasant! I recommend using pure acetone, since this is strong enough to remove tough polishes. The first method is the foil method of removal. Soak a cotton pad with the acetone and place on top of your nail. Then use a strip of tin foil and wrap it around your finger over the cotton pad and your nail. Repeat for all your nails, then wait 3 or more minutes if you wish. Then with a twisting motion, slide the cotton pad wrapped in gin foil off of your finger. Done! The second method is to soak a cotton ball with the acetone then place ontop of your nail for 15 or so seconds - it is better to apply slight pressure while holding the cotton ball down on your nail while waiting. Then with a twisting motion, slide the cotton ball off your nail. Remember to use a new cotton ball for each nail, since using the same cotton ball more than once will make the process less effective due to all the glitter stuck onto the cotton! The third method of glitter polish removal I have for you is to use an old, useless clear nail polish and paint over the polish you want to remove. Don't let it dry or this will defeat the purpose! Use a cotton pad soaked in acetone and hold it against your nail for a few seconds. Then slide off the polish from your nails. This should be done one by one, each nail individually and not all nails at once :) The final method I have would be to create a 'bath' for your nails. Take a bottle cap or something else that's small and can contain th acetone in it. Don't use a styrofoam cup or it will disintegrate! Place a generous amount of the acetone in the container you choose, and place your finger inside until the glitter polish begins to soften. Then use a cotton pad or ball to remove the rest of the polish. It should be easy to slide off. Repeat for all 10 nails - i recommend using a new cotton pad/ball for each nail individually! EDIT: So I have had Rainbow Connection as a top coat over Nicole by OPI's My Lifesaver for about a week now. Paired with a base coat and top coat, the manicure is still perfect, except for slight tip wear. Great product!

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Gaga
BonnieD 10/30/2011 9:45:00 PM
Absolutely love the packaging of this. I bought this only because I LOVE lady gaga, never really saw this as a lipstick shade I would really wear. However, this is the perfect fun pink lipstick which demands for attention when worn, but not in a loud way. Absolutely love! I would repurchase, however this is limited edition and pretty much sold out by now :( oh well at least I'll keep the packaging as a keepsake. Definitely recommend purchasing if you happen to run into this lipstick still in stock or available!

Polishes -OPI - Turquoise Shatter
BonnieD 10/30/2011 9:41:00 PM
My favorite shade of shatter. I have black, white, blue, pink, silver, gold and I love this one the best. I found this one shatters more than the rest of the shades, which I really like. Plus this makes nails stand out from a mile away! Totally cool! I definitely recommend this, however I would not repurchase since it is highly unlikely I'll finish the whole bottle up, and besides, the shatter trend is honestly done with.

Treatments -China Glaze - Orange Cuticle Oil
BonnieD 10/30/2011 9:36:00 PM
This is the only cuticle oil I have ever tried, and it will stay that way. I am absolutely in love with it. This does so much for my cuticles, not to mention I love the slightly faint orange scent of this product! It smells wonderful. Since I live in Canada this is a bit difficult to find, and on the expensive side (about $9 plus taxes) however I would repurchase and I Fefinately recommend!

Polishes -OPI - What's with the Cattitude?
BonnieD 10/30/2011 9:33:00 PM
I bought this as a mini, with a set of 3 other shrek collection shades as well. This has to be the perfect baby blue shade of nail polish! I find that Nicole by OPI's "Baby Blue" could be a possible dupe. Application was a breeze, 2 coats was perfect. Great shade pretty much all year round, and I wish I bought this as a full size! Now since it is probably discontinued and difficult to find, I don't think I can repurchase easily :'( if you do end up running in to this shade however, do not hesitate to pick it up! One of the best I own out of my collection of approximately 200 shades of mail polish :)

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
BonnieD 10/30/2011 9:26:00 PM
One of the worst eyeliners I have ever tried. I've probably went to 5 different sephoras to find it, since they were sold out at each one I visited. Finally, one sephora had them in stock, and I was extremely happy. I bought it thinking this would be the perfect black eyeliner for me, since I have been trying a countless number of black eyeliners and all of them end up smudging. This one was another eyeliner disappointment for me. I really want to love this product - however it would smudge really soon after application. Other people really love this eyeliner and it works for them, but it doesn't for me and I am greatly dissapointed. There is so much hype around this eyeliner and it has even won the award for best eyeliner from a magazine I believe, I quite sadly I can't agree. I found the pencil too difficult to use as well, since sharpening it wouldn't even give a point to draw a precise line. The pencil tip would be too blunt and thick for me to draw a line I desired. For many years, I have yet to find the perfect black liner. From personal experience with this particular one I don't recommend. Will never repurchase

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Clear
BonnieD 10/30/2011 9:18:00 PM
This is the perfect clear mascara anyone can ask for. This is my only clear mascara I have ever tried in my life, and it will remain that. This is perfect for keeping brows in place, for using on lashes for an all natural look, or used on lashes prior to application of colored or black mascara to enhance the mascara's features. It will help hold a curl even better if used before another mascara is applied, and will help separate lashes and even lengthen and add volume to them just slightly. This is available pretty much anywhere, and the price is great. Would definitely recommend, and without hesitation I will always repurchase!

Eye Shadow -Sephora - Colorful Mono Eyeshadow - Aspen Summit (23)
BonnieD 10/30/2011 9:13:00 PM
This was given to me as part of a birthday gift from Sephora one year - there was a generous amount though it was a sample size! Let's just say I absolutely love this eyeshadow! Despite the fact that I probably have over 100 shades of eye shadow, this one is the one I use almost daily. It works great as a highlighter for the inner corners of eyes, or works well alone on the upper lid while being used with some eyeliner as well. Definitely recommend! Though it will be a while till I finish this trial size sample, I would without hesitation repurchase once I run out !
