Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Expert Face Brush

I've had this 6 months and I was worried about the hype but it's a great brush that leaves a flawless finish. I prefer sheer to medium liquid foundations and it increases the coverage of my foundation with no cakiness. So I've found I need less/no concealer on my red areas. It also great as a finishing brush to buff everything together seamlessly. If you're stuck it can be used for contouring/blusher. It soaks up some product if you dip it straight into your foundation. I end up using 1.5 instead of 1 pump. The brush head is big enough to make application quick but small enough to give control around nose, eyebrows etc. The wide base is useful during application to keep the bristles clean and I think this is worth the payoff for harder storage. The bristles are very soft and I've lost none during washing. It washes very well and takes about 16 hours to dry. Not mad on the orange handle though. I'm definitely going to try more brushes from her range.

Treatments -E.L.F. - Professional Shine Eraser

These remove excess oil leaving a matte finish but not as well as other blotting papers. All this means is you have to use more sheets. For my combination skin I use 1-2 sheets at a time. I prefer to have a few packs of these stored in different handbags/car etc, than buy a more expensive brand, but oiler skins might not find it annoying having to use several sheets at a time.

Makeup Brushes -The Body Shop - Eyeshadow blending brush
BlueTutu 5/3/2013 3:06:00 PM
I've had this brush for 3 years and it's very well made and doesn't shed hairs. It blends out eyeshadow effortlessly and is sturdy enough that it doesn't flop all over the place. I also use it to put a wash of colour over my eyelids and it doesn't increase fallout. It's cheaper than the 217 but I favour it because it's from a cruelty free brand. It didn't score a 5 because it could be a little softer (but it's in no way scratchy).

Makeup Brushes -The Body Shop - Eyeshadow Brush

This is much too thin to work as an eyeshadow brush. It picks up hardly any product at all. I sometimes use it with cream eyeshadows but mainly as a concealer brush - although I prefer my smaller concealer brushes over this one. On the plus side I've had it a few years and it's very sturdy and doesn't shed hairs but still not worth the price.

Blush -Rimmel - Bronze
BlueTutu 4/21/2013 5:25:00 PM
I really like this in my fair skin. It is the least orangey bronzer I own and looks really natural on, I can see a tiny amount of shimmer when it's in the packaging but this doesn't show up on my skin, although I suppose it keeps it from looking flat. The pigmentation isn't very strong, it shows up easily on my face but it would be hard to over do it, which I think is actually a plus for a bronzer. I like how small it is, it doesn't take up much room in a makeup bag! The packaging is flimsy though, the top of mine has broken off a few times, but I was able to reattach it.

Blush -Catrice - Defining Blush 050 Apropos Aprico
BlueTutu 4/21/2013 5:11:00 PM
This is a lovely coral shade with some gold shimmer in it. It has great pigmentation so you don't need a lot (and it can get quite shimmery if you apply a lot).It has average/good lasting power - about 6/7 hours before fading. I find it very easy to wear with multiple looks and recommend it.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
BlueTutu 4/21/2013 4:58:00 PM
This is an okay product. My main complaint is that it smudges easily under the eyes and flakes off during the day. The application itself is usually fine but it can clump if you put on too many layers or if there's a lot of product on the brush. I wouldn't repurchase - there are better mascaras for the price.

Brows -GOSH - brow kit
BlueTutu 1/30/2013 6:25:00 PM
This kit has three brow powders - a light, medium and dark brown. All are slightly ashy making them the ideal colours for brows. It has a clear eyewax and a small angled brush which both work very well. The colour lasts all day and the eyewax helps to keep the shape. I bought this as I was unsure of which single colour to get for my brows. I mainly use the medium brown (its hitting pan) but I sometimes mix it with either the darker or lighter one depending on my makeup look or if I've just gotten my highlights done. I'll most likely repurchase this when its finishes. It lasts ages and I can't see myself looking for a single shade even though I primarily use the medium brown because I like having the option of mixing shades. It's great value (€11) and has everything in it you need for brows.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails with Nylon nail polish
BlueTutu 12/2/2012 5:30:00 PM
I have this in clear. I apply 2-3 coats on its own, I have never used it with another nail varnish. It does make my nails feel harder when initially applied. However it starts to peel off my nails after a day or two. When it peels it can sometimes take some of the top layer of my nail with it. I can't feel this or anything but it leaves my nails feeling rough and in worse condition than before I applied it. Not the worst but I won't be repurchasing.

Bronzers -Bourjois - Delice de Poudre
BlueTutu 12/2/2012 4:02:00 PM
I have this in shade 51 it is a warm toned light brown with a small amount of shimmer running through it. I really liked it when I first got it but after using it for about a month I could no longer get any product onto my brush. The bronzer is packed in so tightly that it does not cling to my brush. I've tried various brushes from fluffy to the most dense and it makes no difference, the product is too hard and I have to scrape the product to loosen it up. I can hardly get it to swatch on my finger! Nice colour, but completely unusable.

Bronzers -Isadora - bronzer (huge compact)
BlueTutu 12/1/2012 8:17:00 PM
I have this in matte tan, which i suitable for my light skin tone, although I am careful to apply it with a light hand and blend it in well. I mainly use this to warm up my neck, but I have also used it as a traditional bronzer on my face.It can be built up to a darker colour, but it does start to take on an orange hue then. It is completely matte. The large packaging makes it easy to swirl my brush around in and it has a nice big mirror. It is too large for my make up bag so this makes it impractical for travel. Overall this is my favourite bronzer. I've just repurchased my second one, it lasts ages and the product remained as soft and easy to use until the end. I've had a lot of hard bronzers/blushers which you have to scrape the product off. This is very easy to load up onto your brush. Thoroughly recommend.

Eye Shadow -Sleek - i-Divine Palette - Oh So Special
BlueTutu 12/1/2012 6:34:00 PM
This palette contains 7 matte and 5 shimmer eyeshadows. It comes in a black palette which is smaller and more streamlined than I expected but feels very sturdy. It has a large mirror in it so I really like the packaging. Mattes These have good colour payoff and are easy enough to blend, but like all mattes thy are harder to blend than other finishes. I haven't found a use for the 2 pink shades but all the others are great everyday colours and I have used the matte shades more than the shimmery ones. They're great as for all over as well as in the crease and as liners. Shimmers These are extremely pigmented and blend very easily. The two pinky shades are quite similar to each other, one is slightly darker but they def could have replaced one of these colours. But all shades perform well, the brown shimmery shade is my favourite in the whole palette. All the eyeshadows have some fallout on application but I haven't noticed any fallout during the day. I get 8 hours wear time without primer (although I do powder my eyelids prior to application). So this is a great palette at a very reasonable price and I will definitely be trying more Sleek palettes.

Blush -Max Factor - Miracle Touch Creamy Blush
BlueTutu 12/1/2012 5:05:00 PM
I have this in soft pink and I love it! It is a natural pink colour which leaves a lovely glow to the skin. I apply it with my fingers and find its easy to blend. It lasts about 5 hours on me even when I powder over it so not the longest wearing product. The packaging could definately be improved. I actually lost the lid of mine, but I depotted it into a travel container which is a better size anyway.

Eye Shadow -Lancome - Color Design
BlueTutu 12/1/2012 4:55:00 PM
I have this in no 121 Classy Stiletto which has a lustrous finish. In the pan this looks like a shimmery pink shade. When swatched you can see it has more depth to it and has a taupe undertone to it. I have several other eyeshadows that look similar in the pan but swatch as pure pink. This is so much nicer and it is very soft and east to work with. I would describe it as a satin finish with a medium amount of shimmer. It looks more glowy than shimmery on the eyelid. I have experienced no fallout during application or weartime. The sliding package is not the sturdiest in the world but very easy to open, has a see through panel and does click shut. I've had mine 4 months now and it hasnt broken yet. Very impressed with this eyeshadow.

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Foundation ] [DISCONTINUED]
BlueTutu 12/1/2012 4:39:00 PM
This foundation is suitable for light coloured skin with yellow undertones. It provides a demi matte finish (it is less glowy than the serum). It has good lasting power and provides a light to medium coverage. My main complaint is that is flaked away from any dry patches on my face, such as around my nose. I have combonation skin but this foundation didn't provide coverage on any dried out spots on my forehead, it seemed to flake off them making them more noticeable. I much prefer the serum version of this foundation, although that may be down to skin type.
