Polishes -Essie - Mint Candy Apple
BlueBabyDoe 5/9/2013 6:32:00 PM
I'm kind of torn on whether to rate this polish as a 4 or a 5. It's a great color, but it was a tad streaky. It came out fine in the end, but you have to apply it fast or else it won't look smooth. And make sure to use a good quality top coat, because mine got worn at the tips within a couple of days. Also, I think I had my hopes too high when I got this. I've been looking for this polish in stores for the last couple of years because it looked nice, and everybody seemed to have it. I wanted to know what all the fuss was about and built up this image in my head that this polish was going to be the minty green/blue to end all mints. I'm still not sure if it is. It's lovely and looks more blue or more green depending on the light. It's almost neon in some lighting. I just wasn't quite as wowed as I was hoping I would be. But that's my fault I guess. It is growing on me the longer I wear it though. So I think I'll go ahead and give it a 5. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend it if you don't already have some minty turquoise polishes in your collection. Dupes that I know of: Revlon Minted (more green), China Glaze For Audrey (deeper and more blue), China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint, Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet (pastel and less blue)

Mascara -Too Faced - LashGasm
BlueBabyDoe 4/22/2013 1:19:00 AM
I love love LOVE this for my lower lashes. I've used it on my upper lashes and it's pretty good, but my favorite use is for bottom lashes. It makes them look so long and defined. No clumping, and doesn't smear under my eye because the brush is nice and thin. Bigger brushes don't separate enough and like I said, they smear during application. It also doesn't flake which tends to be a problem for me on my bottom lashline. As far as the price, this was included with the TooFaced Bon Bons palette so I don't know what it is individually. But if it's under 25$ I may repurchase. But if I had more money, I'd repurchase even if it was expensive.

Highlighters -Hard Candy - Moon Glow Luminizing Powder
BlueBabyDoe 12/17/2012 9:14:00 PM
I really hate to say it but I think this powder pretty much sucks. I have the Hard Candy Welcome Matte powder and liked it a lot. The packaging was cute, the product worked. When I heard they did a luminizing powder as well I was so excited to try this. Sadly, it doesn't show up as a nice subtle sheen on my skin. I get big visible glitter specks. I bought this product maybe a year ago and have been trying to make it work for me on and off over the months. But it refuses to cooperate. No matter how I apply it, it always shows up as blatant, unflattering glitter. Even though it's sparse, it's still bad enough that it doesn't work as an overall luminizer. Maybe it's because I'm pretty tan and the sparkle stands out against darker skin. I'm going to keep struggling with this thing for a little longer and see if I can get it to work eventually. Even though it's affordable and cheap, I don't want to waste money by throwing it out. :(

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
BlueBabyDoe 9/30/2012 11:01:00 PM
I don't think this mascara is volumizing at all. The only way I can get volume from it is to apply coat after coat after coat. And that only results in the tiniest bit of a difference. It doesn't give the look of more lashed either. (I didn't really expect it to though. Only false lashes do that) For me, it's just a basic, make-your-lashes-darker-and-thats-it mascara. It's not the worst product in the world, and it doesn't flake on me like Maybelline Falsies did. But it can't compare at all to the volume I get from Covergirl.

Polishes -Essie - Fiji
BlueBabyDoe 9/30/2012 10:51:00 PM
This is SUCH a cute color! It reminds me of pale strawberry milk in certain lights. The formula of this polish is kind of on the streaky side, but I found I can avoid a streaky look by applying 2 medium-thick coats rather than 3-4 thin coats like I normally would. It gives my nails such a clean sophisticated look. Overall I really like this. :3 Since I haven't had it for that long, I don't know if I can truly give it a 5 yet. I might come back and change this later.

Lipstick -Revlon - Primrose
BlueBabyDoe 9/3/2012 6:08:00 PM
Primrose is a pretty lavender/baby pink color. I was scared it would look ashy on my NC 35-40 skin tone. I've never had much luck when it comes to light pink lipsticks, but this one turned out to be wonderful. It's not super bright, but isn't like a nude pink either. It's like the perfect balance of bright and subtle. My favorite way to wear it is with Rimmel's Tiramisu lipliner, and Revlon's Crystal Lilac lipgloss.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Medium/Deep
BlueBabyDoe 8/25/2012 8:49:00 PM
I've only been using this product for two days but I really like it so far. It's ideal for hot summer days or just any time you don't feel like wearing heavier foundations. I've read some reviews saying this is not a BB cream at all but I disagree. Cosmetic BBs are meant to even skin tone, moisturize, provide sun protection, and can act as a primer if you still want to apply a foundation. It may not have the supposed age-fighting serums and whitening/brightening properties of some BBs, but I don't think that's necessary. For me, this product did exactly what it claimed it would. At first I was afraid medium/deep wouldn't match my NC35-40 skin tone but it did! I don't even need to apply my normal moisturizer beforehand. And I can apply it straight from the tube with my fingers, no brushes needed. (which equals less brush cleaning :3 ) It covers up the redness around my nose and cheeks, and conceals minor blemishes. Like others have said, you can apply powder to cut back the slight dewiness it gives, but it looks fine without it as well.

Fragrances -Burberry - Body
BlueBabyDoe 5/16/2012 6:54:00 AM
I don't understand all the negative reviews on this perfume. It smells absolutely amazing! It's great for any time of day or night. On me, it started out as a pleasant floral kind of scent. I admit that at first it can be overpowering, especially if you spray too much. But it dries down to be more subtle. After a while it transformed into a nice musky vanilla scent. There were other scents in between, but I'm not the best at describing them. It also lasted a long time. Twelve hours before it was completely gone. I sampled this on two different occasions to make sure. This is just a nice sweet yet sophisticated perfume.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Bronzer Brush
BlueBabyDoe 4/24/2012 2:05:00 PM
Whoa! This brush is the best face brush I own. It's great at multitasking. I can use it for face powder, bronzer, and foundation. I think this brush really shines in applying liquid foundation. It blends out everything to a seamless natural finish. No streaks, no shedding. I've used it with Rimmel 24 hour foundation, Revlon ColorStay, and Revlon Photoready. It has never let me down. Plus, the big sturdy handle will probably last quite a while. It's not flimsy and wobbly like other brushes I've tried. And it's super soft! :) It's so versatile there's no way you wouldn't find some reason to use it.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Sandalwood Beige
BlueBabyDoe 3/30/2012 10:39:00 PM
This lipstick (on me) was a warm toned orangey brown. I thought it looked a bit too dark of a brown for me so I was a bit disappointed. Then I got the idea to dab a bit of concealer over it. Whoa! The most perfect nude ever! It matched my skintone but the orange undertone of the lipstick provided warmth! This lipstick is now part of my go to everyday lip look. That may be too much work over a lipstick for some but I like it.
