I try to steer clear of liquid foundations but I actually really like this. I get a zit or two every month or so when my aunt flow comes, but for the most part have pretty clear skin - and this keeps it that way. It doesn't clog my pores or break me out, it keeps my oily skin shine free much longer than it would if I didn't use it, and they have such a great array of colors, that it's bound to fit anyone's skin tone. Took me a few tries to find my best match, but once I have, I will definitely continue to use it. Definitely will be repurchasing.
Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Peppermint Castille Soap
BigBlueEyes32 3/21/2013 11:02:00 AM
I LOVE this soap! I love that it's natural and doesn't test on animals and not too expensive for how much it is. I buy the big containers and use it for almost everything...my body wash, my shampoo, my laundry detergent, sometimes I'll even use it as a toothpaste if I'm in a pinch. You just need a little bottle of this when you're traveling - it does it all. and so concentrated that a drop or two is literally all you need. It lasts forever! As a shampoo it can make my hair pretty tangly, but use a good conditioner afterwards and you're fine. I love all the scents but the peppermint is by far my favorite - especially in hot summers. On a 90+ degree summer day, just take a cool shower, use this stuff and you come out feeling so refreshed and cooled down - and so clean! Definitely would recommend.
Concealers -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Spot Concealer
BigBlueEyes32 3/21/2013 10:54:00 AM
This is my go-to concealer. I use it all the time. It really helps to conceal any zits I might have and clears them at the same time, which is fantastic. And even though it's medicated - it's strong but not too drying. I prefer it over some of the other "click" concealers, because even when it's running low you can really get in there with the wand and swipe up what's left on the sides of the container. You really get your moneys worth. Definitely a staple for me!
Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
BigBlueEyes32 3/21/2013 10:50:00 AM
I love apple cider vinegar for my skin! OMG I wish I had discovered this sooner but it is the best! I've tried this brand and I've tried others, so I think all work just the same..but my skin is sensitive, and more on the oily side and this is incredible for it. I mix 2 parts water with 1 part ACV and keep stored in a plastic bottle in my cabinet and do a quick swipe on my face after I wash it - twice a day. It smells like vinegar for a few minutes, but I personally love the smell of vinegar so doesn't bother me. But if it grosses you out, it does dissipate after a few minutes. Then I put my makeup on as usual and my makeup/skin looks flawless all day. I only need to reapply my powder ONE time during the day, as opposed to my normal 5/6x. It's incredible! And my skin is SO soft, and completely clear. I always took ate a spoonful of this stuff to keep my skin clear (it's good for acne) but never thought of putting it on topically - but it does keep you skin flawless. I will never be without this stuff - and it's dirt cheap as an added plus. Definitely worth trying!!
Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Deep Cleansing Cream with Soap Bark and Chamomile
BigBlueEyes32 9/20/2012 12:47:00 PM
I love this cleanser! I remember using it a few years ago and I don't know why I even stopped. I recently started using it again and am in love. I have skin on the more oily side, but it's sensitive at the same time, and this cleanser does wonders for my skin. The texture of my skin actually looks like it's improved, my pores are smaller, I find I don't have to reapply my powder as often during the day. The smell is awesome too, totally wakes me up in the morning. And sometimes I mix a little baking soda with it to get a real deep clean. Amazing! Plus it doesn't hurt that it's 99% natural. Love it.
This powder sucks. I had heard such great reviews on it so went out and bought some and for as much as I paid for it, I would've thought it was magic, but it just...sucked. It felt kind of heavy, looked cakey, gave me an orangey hue to my face as I reapplied, and it did not keep the shine away - no matter how many times I reapplied! I found that cheaper powders from the drugstore to be more effective in helping keep my face matte. It was completely disappointing and will never purchase this again. Definitely not worth the money.
Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
BigBlueEyes32 6/20/2012 3:17:00 PM
This is the only moisturizer I use. I absolutely love it. I have combination/oily skin so this is light weight enough to not feel too heavy on my skin and not break me out. At the same time it's moisturizing enough to not leave me with any dry patches (in cold weather). It makes my skin look clean and dewy too which I love - hate the overly matte look. It's pretty expensive though for what it is, but it lasts forever that it makes up for it. Would highly recommend this product for any body - with any type of skin.
I think this is a fabulous product. I have combination/oily skin and I use this about once or twice a week. When I have big plans and I want to look really good, I use this before going out. I put it on, leave it on for about 15 minutes, wash it off and do my makeup as usual and my makeup lasts all night! It looks absolutely flawless, my pores are completely invisible, and I don't even need to reapply powder or anything. And then the next day my skin still looks just as good. I should use it more since it has an amazing effect but usually save it for special occasions. Would highly recommend.
Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Spectrum Face Advanced Sunblock Lotion SPF 100
BigBlueEyes32 6/20/2012 1:14:00 PM
This sunscreen is amazing. I have most of the Neutrogena ones but the 100+ spf is what I use in the summers everyday. I put it on after I was my face and let it sit before putting on makeup. Then once I put on my makeup, I just dab a little bit more around my eyes/cheekbones and it gives me this glow. I like that this never makes me break out and doesn't leave white residue. I have combination/oily skin and it seems to do just fine with keeping me blemish free. Definitely recommend.
I love this self tanner! I used to use the Clinique one but switches to this and will never change. I use it every night before I go to bed, along with the body self tanner and every morning my face looks a little darker but not crazy/orange dark. Just perfect sunkissed healthy look. In the summer I use a little bit more and then add on bronzer and I look as tan as if I had laid in the sun. The trick though is to use it regularly. If you use it just once a week you won't notice anything. I love this - I always stock up on it when I see it.
Self Tanners -Clinique - Self Sun face tinted lotion
BigBlueEyes32 6/20/2012 1:07:00 PM
I think they must've changed the formula on this because it's not as good as it used to be. I used to buy this ALL the time, all through college and after and it was my go to face tanner. But since they no longer offer the un-tinted version, I've had to use this and I'm not happy with it. It makes my combination skin ridiculously oily. I use it at night and then the next morning wash my face as usual and my face is so greasy for the next day or two after. Plus you can't use it multiple days in a row or you look like an oompa loompa. Trust me - I know! Would not recommend...
I'm surprised this didn't get better reviews. I think this product is amazing. I've used a few different kinds of the Clinique clarifying lotions because skin changes as you age, but I'm currently using the #3 and it's just right for my skin. After washing my face I use this and my skin looks so fresh and clean and glowy. It takes off any last traces of makeup too which is great. It's nice too in the hot weather because it refreshes you and keeps any oil/sweat at bay. I always have this in my cabinet - love it!
This stuff is the best! I use it everyday and it makes my hair so full and voluminous. Almost doesn't even matter what shampoo I use before using this, it just makes my hair so big and full. I have very fine hair too so that's not easy task. The trick is to not use TOO much though. If I use even a spritz or two too much, my hair feels kind dry and crunchy, so I have it down to a science of how much to use so that my hair still looks soft and full without the crispy look. The only pitfall to this product is it doesn't always make my hair really run-your-fingers-through type soft. But when it makes my hair look that amazing and voluminous, I don't want anyone running their fingers through it anyway! Will def buy again.
Seriously Redken? This shampoo blows. I have fine hair that goes flat fast and this does nothing to rectify that problem. It makes my hair feel weighed down and greasy, but at the same time kind of dried out too. I want to like it and kept trying it, but it just seemed like every time I used it was a bad hair day. I've seen better results with shampoos a quarter of the price. Will definitely not repurchase.
Best blush. Period. I love blush that allows you to still see my skin underneath. Where it still shows a glow and not all matte. This blush is perfect for that. I put on my bronzer and then this on top of it and my skin looks clean and glowy and a little bit of this goes a long way, so it lasts forever. It goes on smoothly, lasts all day, and looks like I was just out in the sun for an hour type look. Love it. Will definitely be buying again.
