Fragrances -Davidoff - Cool Water Wave Woman

This is on sale in Boots for about £10 and they are already running a promotion where you can get £5 off if spent elsewhere in the shop. So I got 30ml for £5.17, pretty good!! Initial thoughts: Very clean and beach-y smelling musk, on me... the application it is intensely floral and cloying, on the drydown <1 hour+ it begins to smell of SOAP, like a Roger Gallet Soap!!!! Actually that! Powdered musk and an oriental bloom, suitable for anyone over 70. Maybe it's just my skin It doesn't last longer than 2-3 hours. Will update.

Liquid -Bourjois - Flower Perfection Youth Extension Foundation

**Initial review on this product after 2 days** Broken out like crazy around my t-zone, especially chin, weeping hard cystic acne pimples. After using this I should have known. This is a very HEAVY foundation - comes out like a creme and dries like a mask! Now I recall this exactly what Healthy Mix and 10hr Sleep Effect also did to my skin... strange coincidence? Will carry on to use the product once the skin clears up to see if it definetly was this foundation.

Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Tangle Teezer
rated 5 of 5
Bexicle 4/8/2012 7:29:00 AM

Best beauty invention of the last decade by far. I have very very tangly, fine, fair hair that gets worse condition in cold and hot weather, dries out and split ends fairly often. Not to mention I bleach it to death. I have a really hard time combing my hair when wet, it is impossible with a comb or anything bar a vent bristle brush, and even that can tear my poor hair out. The tangle teezer is simply amazing, there is no pull on hair, and I can finally for the first time brush my hair when it's wet and it never gets caught! I still get loss, but it's nowhere near what it would be with a comb. I take it everywhere with me, use it in the hairdressers, pop it in my bag at work. I love this product so much. It is rather expensive, in the UK (where it was designed and produced) it is £12($20) but there is not anything like it out there. Definitely the best thing I have in my bag.

Fragrances -Illamasqua - Freak
rated 2 of 5
Bexicle 2/24/2012 9:38:00 PM

I can't work out if Illamasqua is a genuine makeup artistry company or the result of an entrepreneurs capitalisation on high end beauty. Evidence is pointing to a bit of both here. Products that were made in china, although the quality of the makeup is undeniable - but don't people also say that about coastal scents? People finding half decent suppliers and making a brand stand to gain a lot of money, look at the success of Lime Crime. Illamasqua is a joint venture between theatre makeup company Kryolan, and entreprenuer Julian Kynaston. Illamasqua's Freak perfume smells warm and floral-ly, not freakish at all - it's like Cacharel with a hint of smoke. It smells as if you would expect Lucille Ball to have done, vintage. It's longetivity isn't great 2-3 hours maybe for me.

Fragrances -Ghost - deep night
rated 4 of 5

Such a warm and sweet musky scent. It is almost IDENTICAL to the base of Britney Spears Fantasy (this came first though). My boyfriend likes this perfume, says it smells like 'baby perfume' on the dry down, very sweet and warm.

Lipstick -Lime Crime - Candyfuture Lipstick - All Shades
rated 1 of 5
Bexicle 1/17/2012 2:02:00 PM

Bought it in Cosmopop and Mint To Be. Cosmopop is awful, colourwise it is very like Illamasqua's Emerge. It settles into lips and DRIES like a 1980s foundation, revealing all lip cracks and lines. It is only slightly wearable when mixed with Mac Myth lipstick. Mint to Be is wildly pigmented, but also doesnt last long and even seems to 'oxidise' on my lips - to a different green? Both lipsticks, though highly pigmented, are awful quality, not worth $2 - but yet the creators have struck gold with a supplier in China somewhere and are charging $16 a lipstick that cost them 0.50c to make. Lime Crime also do not disclose their ingredients ANYWHERE, and as neon pigments are illegal in the US - I really do wonder...

This is like buying a Tinkerbell lipstick from ToysRus. The color payoff is great. It lasts <1 hour. Smells funky. Lime Crime do not list their ingredients which weird me out a little too.

Crème -Graftobian - High-Definition Glamour Color Creme Foundation
rated 3 of 5
Bexicle 12/17/2011 6:51:00 PM

EDIT: This might have a nice finish, but this foundation clogs pores, and it does it really badly. It gave me cystic acne on my chin/cheek/forehead/under eyebrows in about a week of me using it. I wouldn't even say that I have sensitive skin - Garnier Fresh Toner usually balances my skin out, even if I've been wearing silica or oily foundation - but it couldn't reverse this mess. Sore, hard, under the skin zits caused by this foundation. The foundation doesnt even last that long either - 3-4 hours.

Toners -Garnier - Fresh Toner
rated 5 of 5
Bexicle 10/30/2011 6:32:00 PM

I hate cliches and false promises from major corporation brands. But this is a really good product. I was looking for a decent makeup remover for a while and read the reviews on here... before using this I had problem skin, dry and oily in some parts, acne on my chin and forehead. However, since using this product my skin has COMPLETELY changed, I do still get the occasional zit but my skin is a lot clearer and less oily these days. This product does not sting or tingle and does not dry out skin, it has no alcohol but leaves the skin perfect for moisturiser to just sink in. Love this toner and will repurchase again and again. So cheap in the UK too, like £2 normally.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Eye Studio Color Explosion in FOREST FURY
rated 5 of 5
Bexicle 10/19/2011 1:19:00 PM

Amazing colours in this palette, perfect for a 'Britney' style eye look. Very different for a Drug Store palette - the colours do work together. Only problem with this is the staying power, the eyeshadows do not deposit properly or stay on skin without a primer. The glitter 'luminizing topcoat' does have fall out, but it's upto you whether you wear it. Also I am annoyed that this product is exclusive to the North American market, meaning us Brits have to find it on eBay. I don't mind really, because the look it gives is phenomenal. I have deep hooded eyes and I find it hard to use contoring/crease eye shadows without closing in my eye, but I copied 'MrsEyeAmMe' review of this product on Youtube and got an amazing look. Photo attached!

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - POWDER'ful Volumizing Styling Powder
rated 4 of 5
Bexicle 9/19/2011 7:02:00 PM

This product has just hit the UK. I tried it recently, and the here's what I thought: Application: This is kinda hard to apply, it melts into the warmth on your hands and gets sticky before you even apply it sometimes. I find it better to just shake it from the container, to in my hair. I can't help feel it would be better with a wand(?) or hair mascara type brush(?) Result: Definetly gives volume and hold, BUT will knot your hair like no other, only comes out with a thorough wash. Tip: Back-comb hair before using this, gives a great look.

Eyeliner -Max Factor - Masterpiece
rated 2 of 5
Bexicle 9/9/2011 1:07:00 PM

You can tell that Max Factor really tried with this product. They made it very runny so it could be used in a felt tip, but it is then also too watery. So this product's main problem is that it doesn't even line eyes properly. It smudges with its own applicator immediately, the black colour is not strong, the color wears off within a few hours. Bad apple.

Mascara -Max Factor - False lash effect
rated 5 of 5
Bexicle 8/16/2011 4:54:00 PM

US folks say that this product is near enough the same product as CG LashBlast (not avail in UK). Anyway, this is my favourite and everyday mascara without a doubt - and I'll tell you why: This mascara defines and lengthens lashes without clumps and the brush is pretty good. Also, the formula allows you to build up your lashes from 'natural everyday defined' to 'long and striking lashes' - without ever being clumpy or spider-leggy! I love this mascara, and Max Factor always get it right with their silicone brushes these days. Masterpiece and False Lash effect are very similar in formulation but the precision brushes are what make the difference ;)

Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Studio Makeup Mist & Set Spray
rated 2 of 5
Bexicle 8/16/2011 4:49:00 PM

This product is ok. It's a cheap alternative to more luxurious brands setting sprays. I've had this for two weeks, so far I can tell that this spray lessens the staying power of makeup. If anything it seems to make the makeup on my nose and chin just completely disappear.
