Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Frost
rated 5 of 5

This makes you look like you've got diamonds on your eyes! I love the effect this loose pigment creates. Use it on the entire lid as a frosty white base or use sparingly on the brow bone for a striking effect. A little goes a long way... and a lot will create beautiful drama! :D **Hint: Get a few of your friends to pitch in for this (around $18), split the cost and divide evenly amongst yourselves. It will still last forever!

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Expansion [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5

This is the mascara I have been using for the past year (since I discovered it). I get it on sale for 50% off for about $3-4. The brush is wonderful and the consistency of the mascara doesn't clump. With an eyelash curler you can create a really dramatic look. This is my cheap alternative to Lancome Definicil.

Cleansers -Clinique - Facial Soap Mild
rated 5 of 5
Beverly2010 12/17/2004 9:22:00 PM

I love this soap. It removes all my facial makeup and rinses off so cleanly. Be careful about getting it in your eyes though, it will sting like hell. The soap dish could be improved. I personally don't use it because it doesn't allow the soap to dry well enough. **Hint: Buy just the "refill" and use your own soap dish.

Blush -Clinique - soft pressed powder blush in Nude Nude
rated 5 of 5
Beverly2010 12/17/2004 9:19:00 PM

This is the perfect pinkish-brown on my MAC NC30 skin. This give a nice brightening effect on my skintone. My failproof blush color. The only thing I would change is the packaging and instead of the blush pan being more long I would make it more square so that picking up the color with a good blush brush is easier (try not to use the "toy" brush it comes with).

Eye Shadow -Clinique - High Impact eyeshadow
rated 2 of 5

High Impact eyeshadows are not highly pigmented enough to live up to the name. While the color selection may be good the eyeshadow itself just doesn't do the job.

Eye Shadow -MAC - MAC Brun Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
Beverly2010 12/8/2004 12:58:00 AM

I have used Brun to fill in my eyebrows for about 9 years now. Perfect for anyone who has black hair as well. Also nice to use as an eyeliner or to create a smokey eye look. I have tried to find cheaper alternatives in the past but have never found anything as close. When you find something you really like it's worth any price!

Super shine, great pigment intensity, perfect consistency and super moisturizing! I am addicted to these!! Since they are moisturizing they plump up your lips a little. I love the new rounded packaging too.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Fresh Look Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Beverly2010 11/24/2004 5:40:00 PM

Very good quality foundation for Cover Girl. I got this on a 50% off sale with a $1 off coupon for $2.25! The colors in the Fresh Look formulation run much lighter than the other C.G. foundations. I am usually a Buff Beige but found that Soft Honey was a perfect match (I'm a MAC NC30). Coverage is really good and it blends well.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals in 1.2, fairly light
rated 3 of 5
Beverly2010 8/9/2004 12:57:00 PM

I am not impressed with this product. I like my foundation to have a matte finish. Be aware that this product has a very shiny, finish. I don't think this looks natural at all. The application is difficult and long compared to my usual powder foundation. I can imagine that this would be good for photography but in real life I will just stick to my MAC StudioFix, which is only about $20 compared to the Bare Minerals $60 price (I purchased the light kit and mixed the fairly light and light half and half to get my MAC NC30 color).

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Lipstick in Sugar Honey 183
rated 5 of 5
Beverly2010 8/8/2004 1:55:00 PM

This is the best lipstick I have ever worn. The texture is perfect and the formula stays moist right to the very end. This color is a pretty shimmery light brown deepend with redtones. It has a nice fruity scent/flavor which is not perfumy at all and disappears after a short while. Despite the high price ($22) I would repurchase since this is the only lipstick I've found with such a smooth, lip plumping & long lasting texture.

Lipstick -Neutrogena - Lip Boost Intense Moisture Lipstick
rated 2 of 5
Beverly2010 8/8/2004 1:50:00 PM

This lipstick has a thin, oily texture. I prefer lipsticks with more of a rich, creamy texture. Besides that I cannot tolerate that these lipsticks are fragranced. It tastes like you have perfume on your lips. Will not repurchase for that reason alone.

Powder -Cover Girl - Fresh complexion oil control makeup (powder foundation)
rated 5 of 5
Beverly2010 4/2/2004 1:33:00 AM

I often use MAC Studio Fix in NC30 but for those days when my skin is behaving and I want a light coverage this stuff is perfect. It doesn't cake (which StudioFix can sometimes do) and seems to just perfect my skin. I use Classic Ivory (the colors run a little darker than their liquid foundation equivalents). Cute compact & hygienic too! (If you read the ingredients this is exactly the same as Simply Powder Foundation, although with Fresh Complexion you get slightly less product in exchange for better packaging.)

Liquid -Maybelline - Smooth Results foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Beverly2010 2/28/2004 1:48:00 PM

I tried this foundation after having bad luck trying to find a color in Clinique's Dewy Smooth foundation. I am an NC30 in MAC StudioFix and I bought the Smooth Result in NUDE. I think this foundation is great as the coverage is good, it is super blendable and the color match is wonderful as I am asian and have yellow undertones. I do like the texture/moisture of Dewy Smooth a little better than Smooth Result but that means nothing if Dewy Smooth colors don't match me. Anyway the Smooth Result is about $14 cheaper! Smooth Result is quite comparable to the Dewy Smooth finish but with a lighter coverage that looks quite natural. I have dryer skin in the winter so I'll happily be using this for now, since StudioFix can be a little drying this time of year. In the summer I have combination skin so I'll wait to see how Smooth Result holds up then.
