Blush -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee
rated 3 of 5
BeeBonnet 5/18/2013 8:45:00 AM

Have both JM argan cream blush and the blush stick and love both..... so I was thrilled that she now created a cream/gel cheek color made with coconut water, and finally found these on display at Sephora. Gave each color a try while there, although the only color I really found suitable for my fair cool complexion was the Pink Escape out of the 4 there. From the looks of it, this was the one shade selling fastest. At first glance, they look oh so pretty, very jelly-ish and shiney in the pan. The texture is cool....sort of soft and squishy but not greasy. Problem is I found this product is difficult to blend. In addition to being streaky and blotchy, it stains. Long lasting power is usually a plus in the cosmetic world and would be wonderful IF it was easier to apply. So if you can't get it right the first time, it's going to stay that way unless you scrub, (and I mean SCRUB quite hard) to get it off. I tried it on bare, clean skin and I had trouble just removing it from my fingertips. Having said all this. I still want this product to work darn it, and might be tempted to try it again just because I like the concept and the ingredients are naturally great. Hopefully Josie will work out the little "streak issue" because she's definitely on the right track here with a blush for those with dryer or more mature skin.

Fragrances -LUSH - B Never Superworld Unknown
rated 4 of 5
BeeBonnet 5/14/2013 3:14:00 PM

Funny, how everyone smells something different here... maybe "unknown" is right. I smell the beach... no cotton candy, no plastic dolls, no bug spray, no roses, no sweetness or sour fruit. More specifically, this smells very similar to Bobby Brown "Beach" to me. It has a "Coppertone" sunscreen note to it. Staying power is good, I also think it's one of LUSH's better perfume scents.

BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
rated 1 of 5
BeeBonnet 5/6/2013 8:35:00 AM

The only "magic" I see is that it disappears... there is nothing to show that this product actually does for the $11 price! I purchased this in the "light" shade, which comes out of the tube in a very thin, almost white consistancy. Once applied, it hardly covers anything and feels dry like a powder. I'm not impressed with this at all, so it's going right back to the store.

Cleansers -LUSH - 9 to 5
rated 5 of 5
BeeBonnet 5/4/2013 12:50:00 PM

After receiving a sample of this, I didn't like it... at all. My first time trying it at night to remove heavy mascara and eyeliner, I felt this was too thin and runny. The second time trying it, I used it in the morning with a cotton square and followed with a swipe of LUSH Eau Roma Water. So simple... and my skin felt soothed at this point. I then applied LUSH's Celestial moisturizer (which pairs well because of similar ingredients)... and I am now loving the results, just clearer better balanced skin.... no breakouts and my makeup applies smoother. I find *9 to 5* to be the perfect balance between a heavy emollient make up remover (think Pond's cold cream or LUSH Ultrabland) and those watery types that wreak of alchohol and other irritating/drying ingredients. This product is not greasy, does not leave that icky-sticky film that others do, yet it is extremely gentle and non--stripping. I have suffered most of my adult life with skin issues, rashes, and sensitivities due to Lupus, so skin care had become very a frustrating and upsetting chore. In the past I had been over-doing it, obsessed with getting my skin clear incorrectly thinking "more is better or stronger is faster". Finding the rare product which works well without consuming too much effort or time, is such a relief and a blessing to me.

Fragrances -Bulgari - Rose Essentielle EDP - limted edition
rated 1 of 5
BeeBonnet 4/20/2013 11:40:00 AM

I've searched for months to find a more youthful "sweet rosey" scent.... and finally believed I found it.... The description!... the notes!... the pretty pink bottle!.... so completely perfect!.... Until I actually tried it on last night at Sephora. I felt like I couldn't wash it off fast enough, but suffered through a couple of hours to hopefully see if the various notes would settle any better. Ughh... Not good on me, at all. Actually putrid... like burnt honey or what I don't know. I am still in shock and will make due with Stella for the time being, which is as close to my perfect rose as I can get.... for now. **This Bvlgari's fragrance is a beautiful bouquet of various sorts of rose. Together with the fragrance Voile de Jasmin it accompanies the re-launched edition of the classical Bvlgari Pour Femme in a new design. Two kinds of roses – opulent and deep Turkish rose and rose Prelude with pure, greenish aroma – open the composition. In the heart, the fruity notes of blackberry are softened with delicate violet and jasmine trace. Sandalwood and patchouli make a lingering and sensual drydown. The fragrance was created by Beatrice Piquet in 2006. The bottle in light pink color repeats the shape of classical Bvlgari Pour Femme. ~ {Frangrantica}**

Polishes -Essie - maximillian strasse-her
rated 5 of 5
BeeBonnet 4/15/2013 1:46:00 PM

To think, I almost returned this shade because when I got it home in natural light, it looked greenish, instead of the light grey it appeared in the drug store as I debated to buy it while waiting for my prescription to be filled. This color is actually a mix of grey, green, and blue...very muted, virtually neutral and flattering to most skin tones. Application is a dream, covering to an even shine in one coat, which can be a challenge with light pastel-ish shades like these that tend to be difficult, "chalky" and streaky. Although this looked great just as is, I decided to add a top coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in "Disco Ball" (a fine multi-sparkle).... and the result was a-maz-ing! This product has unexpectedly turned out to be one of my all time favorite polishes... love when that happens!

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Honey Bee Bath Bomb
rated 5 of 5
BeeBonnet 4/10/2013 7:36:00 AM

This bathbomb is one of my top 3 favorites from LUSH because it actually makes a big difference in my skin, which feels so soft and soothed afterwards. The scent is another plus for me... a pleasant honey toffee suitable for any age or gender. Natural ingredients.... organic aloe vera, Moroccan Rhassoul mud, orange oil, bergamot oil, gardenia, and of course honey. The only thing I would change if I could is the color the water turns... bright yellow....not a fan... but this yellow/tan honeybee bathbamb is still cute, and also works well as room/closet/drawer freshener being that it's made with baking soda to absorb odors naturally.

Shampoo -LUSH - Godiva Solid 2 in 1
rated 1 of 5
BeeBonnet 3/11/2013 1:16:00 PM

While I usually like the scent of most LUSH products.... This is NOT one. I reeeally wanted to like this.... great concept, great ingredients, and I love the scent of Jasmine.... so much that I even named my Himalayan kitty after this heavenly flower. I purchased this to try out even though I wasn't thrilled with the cold sniff test at the store, hoping that it would smell better or different after wet. Not so, can't detect any Jasmine at all, but I seem to be in the minority here. I'm disappointed and can't get passed the smell, but still love you LUSH.... and happy to see others are enjoying this shampoo!

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Ice Blue Soap
rated 5 of 5
BeeBonnet 2/26/2013 7:13:00 PM

Oh nooo.... why the low ratings? This might just be my favorite soap... and I am speaking as a "soap freak". I love everything about this blue beauty, starting with that color... it is the most gorgeous clear aqua... and it stays attractive without falling apart no matter how small it gets. The scent is a clean mint... it's so yummy. And last but not least, this soap does not dry out my hands, it actually leaves them feeling soft and refreshed. Haven't tried it in the shower since I mainly like to leave this out in a fancy soap dish by the sink because I want it to last longer!

Cleansers -LUSH - Queen of Hearts complexion soap
rated 5 of 5
BeeBonnet 2/8/2013 8:54:00 AM

If it was possible to give Queen of Hearts a higher rating I would! This soap is reeeally nice. While it resembles another LUSH soap (Bohemian, that is lemony based), this one has a soft natural rose scent which delicately lingers. It looks like a cross between a clear glycerin soap with chunks of cocoa butter goodness added in. The texture is so creamy, leaving my skin smooth and feeling nourished. I mostly use this to wash my hands as it helps soothe dryness and cracking I get in cold weather. Having skin sensitivity issues most of my adult life, I've never been someone to use harsh soaps on my face, however I make an exception with Queen of Hearts.... it's that pure and gentle. Afterwards, I apply LUSH Celestial moisturizer (face and neck) and my skin actually feels satiny smooth like a rose petal. While only available online, I plan to repurchase... hoping LUSH keeps this winner around permanently, even if it is retro stock!

Conditioner -LUSH - Happy happy joy joy
rated 4 of 5
BeeBonnet 1/14/2013 2:28:00 PM

Honestly, I purchased this for the scent.... and because I'm lush crazy lately. To me this smells just like Philosophy Pure Grace. It has that "beachy coppertone" note, which I like. The consistency of this conditioner is thin, not very heavy or creamy at all, so I was surprised while combing it through in the shower that I did not have to wrestle or tug at my hair.... the slip was good. All in all, I think this is a very nice conditioner, with great ingredients like (jojoba oil, almond milk, and rose oil), and a gorgeous scent that lasts and lasts.... but it's not cheap at about $12 for the 3.3 oz smallest size.... not economical if you have longer hair as I do... so I'm undecided if I will repurchase... maybe just for "special" occasions.

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar
rated 4 of 5
BeeBonnet 1/9/2013 8:01:00 AM

Been eyeing this girlie pink strawberry cutie for a few months now, and finally picked one up. At first, I couldn't recall what the familiar scent (strawberry. hibiscus flower, cocoa, coconut oil) reminds me of.... creamy berry floral.... mmm, I like it, but this smells like Yankee Candle "Strawberry Buttercream"... yesss that's it, lol. It's a pretty light scent, however, I can see this possibly becoming irritating to someone with fragrance sensitivities, like me. I like LUSH'S massage bars even though most of them can be quite oily.... better suited for cooler weather or at bedtime. *Strawberry Feels Forever* helps my feet feel soft and smooth as a babies skin... and love this after a shower because it quickly gets the job done without being overkill. This one is much lighter, more wearable, and great for younger girls as well to try .... especially nice with a light dusting of Vanilla Puff powder.

Fragrances -Prada - Candy EDP
rated 3 of 5
BeeBonnet 1/5/2013 8:57:00 AM

Attracted by reviews of a combination "powder meets caramel candy goodness"....I had been wanting to try this out since first hearing about it, and finally did so yesterday while at the Macy's counter. I then walked around the mall for an hour or two, debating whether or not to return to make the purchase. I actually liked the initial spray, which to me was not overpowering at all and only slightly sweet. Problem being, shortly afterwards the scent was practically nonexistant on my skin. So I pass.... nice scent... while it lasts.

Blush -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Cream Blush in Sunrise
rated 4 of 5
BeeBonnet 1/5/2013 8:43:00 AM

Not sure why, as if I "really" need another blush to top or replace my beloved Illamasqua.... but went to check out more shades in Sephora yesterday, disappointed that they only carried 2 others in our NY store. Then on the next row, I noticed Josie Maran blush on this quest for the perfect creme. I have to say, I DO really like it, the ingredients are wonderful. Sunrise is a lovely natural looking pink shade with slight brown undertones which blends very well and feels comfortable on my sensitive dry skin. The compact is well made, shiney gold toned complete with mirror and although cute, somewhat small for the $22 price. I think I might purchase this again for times I'm going for a more subdued appearance.... however I still prefer brighter color choices on my fair skin tone, as well as the effortless "slip" I get from Illamasqua that I rate #1. But I feel this JM is much better to apply than the MAC creme blushes I've tried.

Blush -Illamasqua - Cream in Promise
rated 5 of 5
BeeBonnet 11/16/2012 9:13:00 AM

Hands down this is the best creme blush I've tried. The consistency is light as air with a nice "slip" which makes it more easily blendable than MAC creme blushes. In younger days, I only wore powder blush, but the last few years since entering my 40's my combination skin looks more youthful and better hydrated in creamier formulas, although every other brand I've tried would tug and get blotchy especially over foundation or powder base. My issue has been getting them to blend well on my less than perfect complextion. This shade, "Promise" is simply gorgeous... just a dab of this soft, cool toned pink appears natural even on my fair skin. Another plus is that it has not caused any break outs or irritation despite the fact I often have allergic sensitivities. A bit pricey, but worth it, and will definitely repurchase.
