Lip Gloss -Clinique - Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine gloss in Glamour-full
rated 5 of 5

Got this as a GWP too. I'm laughing because the second I put it on, all i could think was, Viva Glam V!!! Apparently i'm not the only one :) Viva Glam is (was) my HG lip gloss, but this might have to replace it because it's easier to get where i live. Although more expensive at $22.50 CAD compared to $16.50.The only thing is that this doesn't have the same yummy cookie smell as MAC's, and this possibly makes lips a tiny bit smoother. I love both glosses. I'd never tried anything like Viva Glam V before, as far as glosses go, so i am very, very happy to discover there are more of it's kind out there. Somehow, this (well, both of them, really) make my lips look super defined without any lip liner, add beautiful color, and make my lips look made up without seeming fake or obnoxious. Just utterly lucious, plump, juicy, kiss-y looking lips. So much love.

Masks -LUSH - Mask of Magnaminty
rated 5 of 5

my HG mask. I bought this when i was breaking out badly, and after my initial breakout healed, with near nightly use in conjunction with philosophy's purity made simple cleanser, i have had totally pimple free skin.It also leaves my skin smooth and refreshed. Just a thin layer works, so given the results, i think the price is totally reasonable. A month of almost nightly use and i've only made a small dent in the (large sized) pot.

Polishes -Essie - Spaghetti Strap
rated 5 of 5
Bec_ee 7/31/2009 11:27:00 AM

How strange...my Spaghetti Strap was not thick or streaky at all - just the opposite! My first Essie polish, This is what i wanted Sally Hansen's You-Gurt Style Salon Lacquer to be. IT was the streaky thick one! This is understated, elegant, natural looking. One coat on it's own is good, two with a top coat is better. The brush is smaller and thinner than what i normally prefer, but I had no problems with application.

Polishes -OPI - Sand in my Suit
rated 1 of 5
Bec_ee 7/31/2009 11:16:00 AM

I was very dissapointed in this polish. I'd been coveting it since i'd seen a photograph the liquid polish (not in the bottle) in a magazine feature. It looked almost clear with the tiniest flecks of gold. I thought i'd found the prettiest color when i was shopping in London Drugs the other day, and was surprised to turn it over and see that it was the searched for 'sand in my suit', because it looked very different from the magazine. Turns out, it's a polish of many faces, because it looked different again when applied. I was expecting it to look sheer-nude with a subtle amount of shimmer- the way it appeared in the bottle. Like everyone has said, it is much more opaque, almost white/silver. Because it is thick, when i wear it on my toes, it is hard to not get the product to settle into my cuticles. I applied a coat over a sheer non-shimmer polish i had painted on my nails the day before, and hours later, they looked dull, old, and dirty. I personally think the color is a little tacky, a little old fashioned, like something my grandmother would wear.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - LipGlide in Clearly Glossy
rated 4 of 5
Bec_ee 5/15/2009 3:40:00 PM

Not sure why i like this so much, because it's pretty basic. medium amount of shine, not really very sticky. It just looks nice, normal, and feels good. Perfect standby to have in my purse, or for those days when i don't really want to look like i'm wearing makeup. I like the packaging too. Feels a little chicer than say....rimmel or nyc clear gloss.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Salon Nail Lacquer in You-Gurt Style
rated 1 of 5

yes, it's a pretty color. and for that, one star. BUT this polish has the worst consistency (for me anyway) that i have ever experienced in a nail polish. i know that's an extreme statement, but i'm not exagerating. It's like some cheapie child nail polish formulation. the consistency...i don't know how to explain it. Its thin, but still streaky and a little chunky. I can't get the right amount on the brush, and the brush seems too thin. It's really frustrating. and to add insult to injury, it also takes the longest to dry of any nail polish i have ever (yes, ever) used. And it's not even that it stays soft for a long time, like some polishes that take a while to dry. It's almost....sticky?? for like, an hour after words, even when i let it dry between coats. really weird. a pretty color that is nowhere near the hassle. I was really dissapointed. i won't buy any colors in this line again.

this is my go-to moisturizer when i'm in a pinch. It's not my favorite, but it does the job and doesn't make me break out.

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Eye Twist
rated 5 of 5
Bec_ee 12/24/2008 5:43:00 PM

I also bought this in 'double trouble' (2 times now!), and i love this product. It's pretty rare that i repurchase something like this, because i love to try new things, but when my first one ran out while i was in Peru and i found my self using it super sparingly to conserve it, i knew it was good enough to repurchase. I use the brown liner everyday to fill in the sparse parts in my eyebrows, and for that alone, i love it. Lasts all day. I also love it as a soft, easy to apply eyeliner when i want something sexy but less dramatic than black, and have had no problems with it fading like other reviewers. The eyeshadow part of the crayon does tend to crease, but i mainly use it on the inner corners of my eyes (does a superb job of brightening them up!) and to highlight my browbone, so the creasing isn't really an issue for me.

Nails -Unlisted Brand - Fing'rs Nail Kits
rated 4 of 5
Bec_ee 7/18/2008 4:53:00 PM

I found a whole bunch of these kits on sale for $1.50 each at the local fields, and had to stock up big time! The first set i had on lasted a week with the nail glue (it comes with the best nail glue i have ever used), and i am now wearing a new set. Some one even asked me if they were gel nails! They got a little brittle and i had some breakage, by the end of the week, but i really can't complain. While i did have the occational nail pop off, i would just carry the little nail glue in my purse, glue it back on, and then i would have no more problems. I could do everyday ordinary activities with the on and not even worry about them. And they come in alot of cute styles! I also love the foot kits they have...i think they're called "party toes", or something like that. They have a whole bunch of fake big toes, and then polish for the rest of your toes. The polish matches exactly, and your big toe looks perfect...all jeweled and cute! They stay on for ever too! (and by forever, i mean a week..and counting)

Skincare - Face -Arbonne - Entire Line
rated 2 of 5
Bec_ee 6/1/2008 8:29:00 PM

I too recently went to my first arbonne party, and my reaction has been pretty much the same as alot of people here. I used to work at LUSH, so i'm pretty staunchy about having natural, safe products now. i know about cosmetic ingredients and what they do. When i asked to see an ingedient list for the products, the rep told me that she didn't have one, but if i wanted, she could contact the company and get ahold of one for me. "How mant companies do you know that do that!" she exclaimed like it was the greatest thing in the world. LUSH quantitatively lists all their ingrediants on signs in the store and all products. But anyways, i'll stop comparing now. The rep in general just did not have good knowledge about what the "key ingrediants" in the products actually did.Like many have mentioned, there are a lot of bad chemicals in arbonne products when they purport themselves as selling 'natural' products. They pretty much just throw some natural stuff into the type of products you can buy at the drugstore. this bugs me alot. Especially because...and here is my next point...they are so expensive! I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but i was expecting prices similar to mary kay. I was shocked that the body cream i liked was around $60, and the massage oil i liked $54. And really, if i'm going to spend $35 (all canadian prices) on mascara, it's going to be on chanel, not some obscure, little known, kinda hyped up brand! I did end up buying an eyeliner pencil (pretty much the cheapest item in the catalogue for $19) that i think could be pretty good, as it felt very very smooth on my hand, so one lippie for that, and i gave another lippie because some of their body creams smell pretty good. and for about $23, could be priced worse i guess. All in all, i was pretty dissapointed with arbonne. like most have said, mediocre products, pushy parties, and misleading claims about being 'natural'.

Fragrances -The Healing Garden - Waters- Pure Joy
rated 3 of 5
Bec_ee 1/25/2008 5:37:00 PM

I just rediscovered this little guy, and i'm quite liking him. No, the lasting power is not long, But the smell, is nice, neutral, and very fresh. It kinda reminds me of those bonne bell perfumes i used to wear when i was a kid,....this smells similar to the 'lucky' one i think. Anyway, the scent is pretty and unoffensive without being too girly. It's cheering me up in the middle of an albertian winter right now! But even though It's perfectly nice, he's nothing super outstanding, so i'm only giving him a three.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
rated 3 of 5
Bec_ee 1/4/2008 8:31:00 PM

sadly, i have to agree with the previous reviewer in that i found this pretty average. I don't remember the last time i'd gotten my hopes up so high over a mascara after reading the reviews here..I was trolling all the drugstores in my vicinity pretty much bi-weekly waiting for the day this bright orange mother of a mascara would jump out at me from the shelves. Well, i finally found it and immediately snapped it up despite the fact that i had just bought...er...two new mascaras, thinking it would be totally justified. Truth be told, i find this to be really similar to lash exact..which isn't a bad thing, it's an alright natural look, i was just hoping for a little more 'wow' from all the hype i had been hearing. It's alright though, it layers fairly well, so i'll use up my tube.

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Glassy Gloss in Tropic Glaze
rated 4 of 5
Bec_ee 1/4/2008 8:03:00 PM

comparable to l'oreal color jucies. The smell and taste is nice, kinda fruity and reminds me vaugely of something i can't quite put my finger on--Lasts quite a while, feels alright, and gives moderate shine. Like others have said, on me this shows up clear with some sparkles. Nothing to write home about, but for what it is, it's good, and i'd probably buy again.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Mystic Impressions

I've bought or tested so many of these ( i used to work in a drugstore!)...and dangit, i'm gonna keep doing so. Unless you have a SUPER discerning nose, they are indistingishable from the originals...i just don't see why you would spend 10x the price one something that smells the same just for the name. This way, i can try out alot of different fragrances...without going broke! t's a good thing too---perfume is my achilles heel. :)

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes - Fine Wink [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Bec_ee 1/1/2008 5:19:00 PM

I'm surprised i haven't reviewed this yet! I love this eye shadow. like many other women, it appears, it is a staple in my beauty bag..i use it all over my eyelid if i am feeling lazy, on my brow bone or tear duct as a highlighter or to add a pit of shimmer to my eye. Its not obnoxious in the least, just gives your face and eye area a gorgeous 'glow'. i love how it's slightly pink tint brings out my blue eyes, and i have never had a problem with lasting power. I will always keep one of these around, i use it so much and it is so versatile..and obviously the price just can't be beat!
