Mascara -Avon - SuperFULL Mascara
Beautynerd 11/27/2006 2:55:00 PM
I totally hated this mascara!! I've been a Maybelline Full N' Soft waterproof fan for some time now but wanted to try a new mascara. This mascara barely made my lashes much thicker and weighed my lashes down so I lost the curl. I don't see what the hype is about w/ this mascara!

Conditioner -Infusium 23 - Conditioner for Fine/Fragile Hair
Beautynerd 11/27/2006 12:29:00 PM
I have to agree with everyone else on this. I used the shampoo and conditioner and it left my hair really shiny but with tons of volume. At first I was afraid that this would dry my hair out but my hair was still easy to comb while wet. I also used the leave-in for fine hair and I was totally impressed! I'm so glad I tried this!!

Treatments -Clairol - Infusium Leave In for fine hair
Beautynerd 11/27/2006 12:24:00 PM
I just used this last night for the first time. I got this free in a spray bottle with the purchase of the Infusium shampoo for fine hair. I used only this (after using the fine hair poo & conditioner) because I wanted to test it by itelf w/ no other styling products. I used about 10 sprays on my almost bra-strap length hair. When blowdrying, I immediately noticed that my hair was really shiny and bouncy. This is definitely a keeper for me!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Organic Root Stimulator - Replenishing Pak
Beautynerd 11/12/2006 7:09:00 PM
I try new deep conditioners constantly and this is one of the best I've tried in a long time! It smells great (like oranges), makes my hair super soft and incredibly easy to comb out once wet. I left in for about an hour (didn't use heat) with a plastic cap, rinsed out and didn't realize how soft my hair was until it started to air dry & felt amazing!! This is definitely one I am going to stock up on. It was under $2.00 for a pack at Walgreens. For the record, my hair is about bra-strap length, colored & fine but I have tons of it. Ingredients: water, soybean oil, glycerine, olive oil, hydrolyzed collagen, Quaternium-80, DMDM hydantoin, amino silk acid, dimethicone copolyol, orange oil, d'limonene, panthenol, dimethicone, edta, chamomile extract, sage extract, nettle extract, rosemary extract, aloe vera gel, yarrow extract, kiwi extract, polyquaternium-37, trideceth-7, methylchlorothiazolinone, yellow #6, yellow #5.

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime GLOW
Beautynerd 8/27/2006 12:01:00 PM
I have tried several self tanners during the past couple of months and this by far is the best! I used this in Medium (I'm super pale but wanted more color) and it gives me a lot more color than Jergens Natural Glow and smells somewhat better. This is really easy to use & I didn't get one streak. I also found that the color lasts longer than Jergens Natural Glow too. The color is super natural, not too yellow (like my Dove Energy Glow), just looks like a "real" tan.

Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Maxiglide iron
Beautynerd 12/23/2005 6:23:00 PM
I have to say I totally love this flat iron! It straightens my fine (but tons of it) hair in just one pass ( I do steam the ends first though). I used it on setting #4 and was afraid it wouldn't do much for my hair because I have to crank my T3 past 300 degrees to get my hair as shiny & silky as I like but this works just amazing on my hair!! My hair for the record is just a tiny bit wavy but gets really frizzy if I don't blow dry it all of the way or if it's humid out. I debated buying it because of the reviews about the flat iron being bulky/heavy but I don't think it's heavy in the least bit. The large size makes it super easy for me to do my entire head in a short amount of time. I like the fact that I can flip the ends up too if I wanted w/ this. I totally love the steam feature, my frazzled ends look smooth & silky after using. The price is good too, I got this online w/ the mini glide for about $100.

Mascara -Maybelline - INTENSE XXL mascara
Beautynerd 11/14/2005 9:26:00 PM
I was very excited to try this mascara, especially after watching the commercial for it. I decided to get it when I saw a $1.00 off coupon in CVS, despite having about 5 new mascaras still in the packaging in my vanity drawer. Anways, I had really high hopes for this mascara but it totally let me down. My Full N Soft is a million times better than this. Even though the makeup display in CVS stated that FNS is a natural looking mascara, it gives me much longer and thicker looking lashes. This one left my lashes will those little ball things at the ends and I only used two coats. I ended up having to wipe off some mascara with my finger (I went over my lashes back and forth) and then they looked gross, not full and long how I like. The applicator is really awkward to use too.

Treatments -Serious Skin Care - Super Creamerum
Beautynerd 11/12/2005 6:08:00 PM
Despite the bad reviews, this is doing great things for my skin! I've been using for over one week (at night only) and although it kind-of makes my skin feel prickly (for under 5 minutes), it's totally worth it. When I wake up in the morning, my skin looks really clear and glowy. I don't really have to exfoliate as much either. This seems to be slightly smoothing out fine lines in my eye area too. My skin looks super smooth regardless of whether I use a powder or liquid foundation. I got mine off ebay for about $40 after using a sample I had for about 5 days.

Styling Products -Nioxin - Nio-Spray Humidity Resistant Extra Hold
Beautynerd 4/17/2005 9:55:00 AM
This is by far the best hairspray that I've used in a long time! I use this after I use my caruso rollers and my curls last until I wash my hair (seriously, and that a couple of days). This is a bit stinky but I will put up with that for curls that last days. The smell dissapates a couple of hours after on me. I will never be without this one!

Shampoo -Nioxin - Bionutrient Protectives Cleanser (formerly 1C cleanser)
Beautynerd 4/17/2005 9:44:00 AM
I used this last year and totally forgot about it until reading about it in toconnells reviews. I really did like this shampoo a lot and it was great at removing styling products and leaving my hair feeling clean. I also like the minty type smell. I plan on repurchasing this!

Hair -L'Oreal - Nature's Therapy Heat Control Leave-In Protective Creme
Beautynerd 4/17/2005 9:42:00 AM
Althought I absolutely love the smell of this, it didn't really do much for my hair. My hair seemed dull and not that soft & smooth like I imagined it would do for me. Maybe I'll try using it again and use just a tiny tiny bit. I'll update one I use again. *****Edit - May 2007 This has somehow moved it's way to the top of my favorite haircare product list. I'm not sure if it's because my hair has been colored a lot recently & is more damaged than normal but this seriously makes my hair so smooth & silky feeling. I don't think I'll ever be without this again. I will continue to use this for as long as it keeps working the way it does.

Treatments -Nioxin - Bliss
Beautynerd 4/17/2005 9:40:00 AM
I recently rediscovered this and I'm so glad I did. I use this on days that I don't shampoo to freshen up my hair (thanks to recommendation from toconnell) and you could never tell I haven't washed it and it makes my hair really soft. This is one that I won't be moving to my beauty products graveyard in my storage room!!!

Styling Products -Nioxin - Smoothly Defined
Beautynerd 4/17/2005 9:36:00 AM
I've recently rediscovered this and I am totally loving it & don't think I'll stop reusing it. This makes my slightly frizzy hair very smooth and soft. I'm not sure about taking less time to blow dry since I never really blow dry my hair all the way anyways. This combined with Aphogee keratin & green tea reconstructor leave-in spray conditioner has left my hair the softest it's been in a long time!!

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime Bronze
Beautynerd 3/15/2005 2:26:00 PM
This review is for the spray version in medium. I'm normally an NC15 and this spray turned me almost an NC25 in just one use. The color is the most natural I've used so far! I'm a golden tan color and there's absolutely no orange. I was a bit scared because there's no color in the spray but apparently I did a great job. After spraying (in a circular motion)I lightly smoothed over with my mit from Savage Tan. On my face, neck & hands I used a makeup sponge to blend. I think I'm going to use it again to get just a little bit darker. I'm much darker with this self-tanner vs. Savage Tan. I will update later to see how the tan wears. ****Update - after using a few times on my face I started breaking out so I think I will just use this on my body and find another for my face : (
