Toners -Kiehls - Herbal Blue Astringent

This is my go to toner whenever my skin starts to flare up. I use this all over my face in the evening and on my t zone in the morning before applying my moisturizer. I've never experienced this "pilling" that others have described but I also wait about 5 minutes after toning to apply any moisturizer. You need to allow your skin time to absorb the product before moving on to the next step. Same process with primers and then applying foundation. This is excellent as a post shave toner as well. Provides a nice cooling sensation via the menthol in the product which is especially soothing after dragging a razor across your face. I can certainly see people using it as a spot treatment because it's excellent for that. I however, use it for it's intended purpose, a toner. This isn't designer or recommended for people with sensitive/combination/dry skin. It's specifically formulated for people with oily skin and men to use post shave. So I can understand how people would find it "drying" because those people clearly don't have the skin type this product is intended to be used on. If you want to try a great toner from Kiehls that isn't drying, I recommend giving the Kiehl's Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free toner, which is fantastic! As a male, I love this product though because men's skin is naturally oilier and the menthol in this product soothes my skin post shaving. It also prevents breakouts which I get from working out and sweating, which also tends to make my skin oilier. Just a really great product and like all Kiehl's products, it lasts a long time. I use this in conjunction with the Kiehl's Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser and my skin is clear, even toned, and vibrant.

Bronzers -NYX - Matte Bronzer
rated 4 of 5
BeautyBoy88 11/2/2012 4:10:00 AM

I'm a big fan of this bronzer. I'm very fair skinned, so it's sometimes difficult for me to find a bronzer that is light enough without looking orange. I like that this doesn't have shimmer in it so it's perfect for light contouring. It provides that "Wow you look great" effect without the "Wow, what bronzer did you use?" Pretty cheap. I like it just as much as MAC's matte bronzer. This is my new go to bronzer in the winter. Blends well, affordable, a little goes a long way, and it's easy to find.

Other -Rembrandt - Rembrandt Plus Toothpaste with peroxide
rated 3 of 5

This works quite nice. However, only about half the tube contained toothpaste. If I'm going to spend $8 on a tube a toothpaste, I'd like it to be full. I like the product, but I would never purchase it again. I feel as though I'm being ripped off. It's the toothpaste equivalent of a bag of potato chips. Half full and the rest is air.

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Roux - Fanci Full Rinse
rated 5 of 5

I have to say this is one of my secret weapons when it comes to maintaining/perfecting that celebrity-esq white blonde.I use the White Minx. I have long hair on the top of my head that I bleach to a pale pale yellow (think the inside of a banana) and then I tone it with Manic Panic Virgin Snow. Afterwards I towel dry, pop a dime size amount of this in my hair, and blow dry. Fantastic. I always giggle that the bottle says 15 applications because I probably get 10 times that. Some people say this dried their hair out, but I find it moisturizes my hair quite a bit. I'm a total freak about maintaining my blonde hair though. So I use toner shampoos/conditioners, tone every one or two weeks, and use this whenever I shampoo (about every 4 days). SO cost effective. I get a ridiculous amount of compliments on my hair and this is part of the reason why.

Hair -Manic Panic - Virgin Snow Toner
rated 5 of 5

I sometimes wonder if people bother to read product information or do any research before buying a product. This IS NOT going to remove ORANGE tones from your hair. Period. This is intended to take a pale yellow bleached hair tone to an almost pure white/platinum color. That being said.....I love this product. I have long hair on top but short on the sides and in the back. I only color on the top and leave the rest my natural color. This works fantastic to tone down that pale yellow that can happen from bleaching. I like to use this to keep my white blonde hair looking fresh with a slight purple tone. I usually leave this on for an hour or two with a disposable color cap popped on my head. Conditions as it tones. I've also had great success making my own blend using conditioner and Manic Panic's violet. It gives you a bit more control and is more cost effective. However, for those that don't feel comfortable mixing up their own, the Virgin Snow is excellent. I would recommend using a toning rinse every few days as well. I personally like White Minx by Roux.

Styling Products -Organix - Moroccan Argan Oil Weightless Healing Dry Oil spray
rated 3 of 5
BeautyBoy88 10/6/2012 9:20:00 PM

I have fine textured hair that is bleached and toned to white. So needless to say, I'm always trying new products to help keep my hair shiny, soft, and feeling like hair instead of straw. I really like the smell of this product because it has a nice clean smell to it. I spray it directly onto damp towel dried hair and then blow dry. Fantastic for managing frizz. I don't use this as a finishing or shine spray afterwards though because I feel like it would be too much for my fine hair. So pre blow dry/air dry works out incredibly well for me. Adds a nice shine without making my fine white blonde hair look greasy, prevents split ends, and is cheap. Highly recommend this to anyone who bleaches their hair or has damage.

Tinted Moisturizer -Boots - No7 Soft and Sheer Tinted Moisturiser
rated 4 of 5
BeautyBoy88 9/23/2012 7:15:00 PM

I am a big fan of tinted moisturizers and their modern counterpart, BB creams. This is my favorite tinted moisturizer under $15. I grab this for about $12 at my local Target. This can feel a bit heavy if you use it in addition to your regular moisturizers. It works just fine over an oil free moisturizer. I use Kiehl's Facial Fuel and swear by it. I also wouldn't recommend this for anyone who is extremely oily. I have combination skin with slight oil in my t zone. I like how this glides on smooth, leaving your skin soft, and covering up minor imperfections from breakouts or lack of sleep. Brightens up my skin when it's looking dull in the winter. Bonus points to this product for including a mineral based sunscreen. It blends into my fair skin perfectly and the price is right. It's a nice purchase to get you through those months when you need to tighten your budget up a bit.

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Fortified Skin Enhancer - Adjust
rated 4 of 5
BeautyBoy88 5/11/2012 5:32:00 AM

I really love this product. It is NOT just a primer. It has a built in primer though. M.A.C. actually has a BB cream that is only available to European customers but this is the exact same thing. According to the girl at the M.A.C. store that I go to, it has all the same ingredients. I actually checked that out and it holds true. So think of this as a BB cream and not just a primer or just a tinted moisturizer. It combined a skin treatment, SPF, and tint to cover minor flaws. This isn't going to be full coverage. So people expecting that really just need to go with a foundation instead of sitting there wondering why this isn't covering EVERYTHING. It simply isn't designed to do that. This is great for every day wear with a little concealer over problem areas. I personally like the mineralize concealer with this. A few dabs under the eyes and on any blemish, voila! Perfect base. If you want to bump this up, try the mineralize natural skin finish bronzer or your regular powder foundation. All in all this is a great product. It's pricey like all M.A.C. products but you won't need to constantly reapply this, it's a quality product, and as with all things M.A.C. a little goes a long way. I wouldn't recommend using this with a foundation or dual fiber brush as it's a bit thicker (most likely because of the SPF) so just blend it out with your fingers after dotting it on. Worth a try though. M.A.C. has a great return policy on their products as long as you keep the packaging and the original receipt. So if you don't like it, return it. I switched to this after using the tinted moisturizer for months. This is a new favorite for the summer.
