Polishes -OPI - Black Shatter
BeautyAndTheBlush 2/4/2012 1:13:00 PM
This is truly the best black shatter/crackle I know of. I used this on top of a gold nail polish and my nails ended up looking like an awesome cheetah-print, unlike some black shatter/crackle nail polishes which look like your nail polish is chipping away! The brush size is just right and the formula itself is great! I recommend this to anyone who wants to kick their usual, boring nail polish up a notch! I would definitely repurchase :)!

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
BeautyAndTheBlush 2/2/2012 8:14:00 PM
I love this lip balm because it has a very sweet and fruity smell, it makes my lips smooth and sets a base for my lipstick and gloss, and the packaging is super cute! I was studying for exams and was so stressed out, then I smelled this lip balm and I don't know why, but the scent is so lovely that I just couldn't put it down! It's just an overall great product to carry around in either your purse or pocket, especially in the winter when your lips can easily get dry! I give it a 4/5 because I feel like I have to reapply this lip balm a lot since it stays on my for about an hour, but that's perfectly fine to me since I'm in LOVE with this stuff!!!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Volume
BeautyAndTheBlush 1/2/2012 2:08:00 AM
I think I found my HG mascara :) !!! I have this in brown/black. The applicator has rubber bristles that gradually increase in length, which work great to separate lashes. I've noticed it also makes my lashes look thick and full of volume, so I couldn't ask for anything more! The reason I didn't go for a black mascara (even though I have dark brown hair/lashes) is because I think it looks more natural and compliments my hazel eye colour. So, yeah this mascara is absolutely amazing and I recommend you get this. I got it for only around $8! Your lashes will be reaching up for joy, they'll be so voluptuous!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Holiday Kabuki Set
BeautyAndTheBlush 12/29/2011 10:50:00 PM
OMG! I'm so excited these amazing kabukis are finally on MUA!!! I'm obsessed with them! I love all Ecotools brushes sooooOOOoooo much, but oh my gosh...DON'T even get me started on these ones!!!!! Well...I guess I have to since I'm doing a review right? ^_^ Price--> I paid around $15 plus tax for this limited edition brush set from Winners. That was the only time I ever saw these brushes in Canada and man am I glad I got them when I did, since there was only one lonely brush set sitting there on the shelf! It was kinda ironic because I was actually at Winners looking for a flat-top brush (specifically the Elf Studio line) and well...yeah I kinda came across these, saw the lovely flat-top buff brush in it and couldn't resist. I FREAKED OUT.The rest is kinda hazy, but I remember telling the cashier how excited I was that they sold these brushes...(she probably thought I was insane) but oh well!!!!! OHH yeah, back to the review... Packaging Quality--> I'm gonna give packaging a 5/5 because I've kept the packaging to display these fab brushes. It's so cute how there's labels for them as well! The designs on each brushes are super cute as well. They add a little pizzazz to my makeup routine each morning :D! Brush Quality--> One word. S-O-F-T!!! (I'm describing the brushes from left to right, as they are seen in the packaging) The "conceal" brush is extremely dense (the most dense of them all) and for this reason, you can really buff in concealer around your face and nose. The brush shape is unique and very practical because it can get into those hard-to-reach places! The "bronze" brush on the contrary is the least dense of them all and is angled so it can be used either to apply bronzer all around the face, or it fits perfectly on cheeks to apply a natural flush of blush.Next is the "contour" brush, which is tapered at the top so you can apply bronzer in the hallows of your cheekbones for that flawless and well-blended finish, or use it to highlight above the cheekbones. This brush is quite dense as well, so if you wear mineral foundation you can buff it in very well! Lastly, (probably my fave) is the "buff" brush. I love this brush for when I apply powder because first of all...it feels SUPER soft on my face and secondly, it gives a really nice finish! This brush is not as dense as I imagined (not as dense as the sigma F80), so I don't know how it would work with liquid foundation, but these brushes are so versatile I would experiment with each one of them until you find what works! So...I would definitively repurchase, but I'm pretty sure I won't need to! If you don't have these brushes and have seen them in stores...I recommend you give them a try ;). Like me, you probably won't be disappointed with Ecotools brushes!!!

Foundations -Almay - TLC Truly Lasting Color
BeautyAndTheBlush 12/2/2011 9:37:00 PM
...I'm just giving my honest opinion here, but the day I wore this foundation I got called 'pastey' because I was so pale and it washed me out. Secondly, I chucked this stuff in my mom's makeup drawer and a few months later, while letting it sit in it's pastiness, I decided to check up on it. Hahahaha, there was some oily, greasy, watery substance floating atop of the paste!!! No joke, if ya'll wanna know what's in your makeup...let it sit horizontally for a few weeks and the less dense liquids will rise to the top...so think about what you're really putting on your face. So then I starting laughing while putting a Q-tip in the oils...wow, I could have won a science fair with the "mysterious oily paste" called Truly Lasting Colour! Unfortunately for me, this paste is truly lasting, as it will bask in my mother's makeup drawer for all eternity!!! :) So, yeah I don't recommend it...although when I finally stopped freaking out over how pale, cakey, and gross my face looked at the end of the day I made an oath never to wear this foundation again.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream
BeautyAndTheBlush 9/12/2011 5:41:00 PM
LOVE. I have oily skin, was looking for a moisturizer to hydrate my skin without making it greasy: this did it. OHHHHH YEAA ahhaa, this is the best moisturizer I've ever known of. I just look back and think why didn't I think of this sooner? It's oil free and won't clog pores, it contains vitamin E and grape water extract and it feels soooo nice on my skin. It also works as a primer too and it honestly helped with my oil during the long school day! If you're reading this review and thinking about getting this, JUST GET IT, you'll love it. It also smells amazing like cucumbers and grapes, but if you don't like anything perfumed on your face, I couldn't smell it at all after about 2 minutes. Honestly...it's so worth it! 5/5!!!!!!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Clindoxyl Gel
BeautyAndTheBlush 9/2/2011 4:13:00 PM
Wow, I didn't know makeupalley had this product on here, but that's fantastic because I have great things to say about this! I had mild acne, as in little bumps all over my chin and forehead. I finally wanted to go to my doctor and he prescribed me this acne-gel called Clindoxyl. After using it the first week my skin was extremely dry and flakey (I have oily skin) but it went away soon after and in a couple months I noticed a huge difference! The packaging isn't the best since when it's low it's hard to squeeze out a lot. Clindoxyl helps promote pores to shed dead skin and sebum so that the acne medication can penetrate into the skin and kill acne-causing bacteria. It's been about a year since I've been using it every night and I no longer have acne or those annoying tiny bumps. The most I get is the odd pimple here and there and that's it! I'm so grateful for Clindoxyl because it's helped my acne clear and helped me feel confident with the skin I'm in! It can be expensive if you don't have anything (a union ect.) to cover costs, which luckily my family does. If you have acne and you're wondering what to do, talk to your doctor! They didn't go through medical school for nothing :D!

Concealers -Rimmel - Hide the Blemish
BeautyAndTheBlush 8/30/2011 10:28:00 PM
Uhh..not this..I took it back after a few days of buying it because it was too dry, (on my oily skin!) it look cakey and emphasized a blemish even more...oh and don't even get me started on what this looks like under eyes. It's like I aged 30 years because it made me look like a have wrinkles under my eyes...and yeah...I'm under 18!! I got this for 4 bucks and I wanted em back after seeing this on my face.

Blush -Revlon - Powder Blush - Tawny Peach
BeautyAndTheBlush 8/30/2011 10:18:00 PM
I took this back a couple days ago for these reasons: *It was very pricey for a drugstore blush *It didn't show up on my skin and it wasn't high pigmented *too dry The packaging was nice, but I don't see why you'd need a mirror and the brush was quite small, however I don't recommend getting this blush because it's not gonna do anything. You might as well just spend your money on something better!

Concealers -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Spot Concealer
BeautyAndTheBlush 8/30/2011 10:10:00 PM
Hello all you makeup-lovers! I bought this product at Shoppers Drug Mart after taking back 2 products from there...yeah...(the Revlon blush in tawny peach and the Rimmel hide the blemish stick concealer) and I wanted a nice face concealer that will work with my oily skin and blemish-prone skin! So I decided to go for the Almay Clear Complextion Concealer (shade light) with 1% salycilic acid. This matches my skin amazingly because I have cool, pink undertones. I love the fact it does contain salycilic acid because it helps your pores shed dead skin and oil that can clog pores furthermore and it also has soothing ingredients like aloe and chamomile that help reduce redness! It covered all the redness around my nose and covered my few blemishes very nicely. This also stayed on my face throughout the day, didn't look cakey and it had a very blend-able and nice finish! I didn't even set it with powder :O! What I would say I don't like and that's why I give it a 4/5 is the packaging, because all the product I feel gets stuck on the doe-foot applicator stick and it can get a little messy if you're not careful. The price came to $13.71 which I found to be pricey for Almay, but to be honest I'm totally diggin' it! I recommend this to everyone because it's super amazing!!!

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer (New) [DISCONTINUED]
BeautyAndTheBlush 8/28/2011 11:01:00 PM
I tried this concealer out after doing a little searching for a good under-eye concealer, (even though I don't have dark circles or anything) however I wanted coverage there that isn't cakey or too noticeable! I got it for $11.25 (tax included) at walmart and I'm glad since this really did the trick! I love it because it comes in an 11 ml squeeze tube with a very controlled applicator. It has yellow-undertones which mainly counteract the redness in under-eye areas. I wore it for about 8 hours and it didn't budge or crease...even when I got splashed in the pool! I also loved how it was SPF 25 so I didn't have to worry about irritating my eyes (I have contacts) with greasy sunscreen! I think it's also moisturizing which is great for all skin types including dry skin! I only use it for under my eyes and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a fantastic high-pigmented under-eye concealer that doesn't look "fake", covers redness, and protects delicate skin from sun damage! I got it in the lightest shade and it also goes on very smooth. Not too watery and not too dry! I give it a 5/5 because it is a GREAT under-eye concealer! ( I think this'll last me a while too :) hehehee! )

Scrubs -St. Ives - Invigorating Apricot Scrub
BeautyAndTheBlush 7/28/2011 10:17:00 PM
For you readers who don't want to read a whole 3 paragraph review of this product that I would've written...let me sum it up in 5 words: Your skin will feel amazing. ---I recommend this for a fresh, clean face! I rated it 4/5 because I thought that for people with really dry skin, the gritty exfoliating bits might be too harsh! P.S.- ***CAUTION*** your baby will be jealous that your face feels softer than his bottom. Thanks and remember to celebrate YOUR beauty everyday! :)

Makeup Brushes -Quo - Blush Brush
BeautyAndTheBlush 7/28/2011 10:08:00 PM
-I washed it...and...it smelled of dead roadkill... -It started shedding after that and at school I'd have embarrassing little black hairs on my face...awkward... -when it is washed it's not the same and all the weird smelling oils are washed off so it's not as soft and doesn't pick up makeup that great. UPDATE: I cut the top off to make it a flat-top...when I washed it the white towel had a blue dye stain in it!!!

Moisturizers -St. Ives - Fresh Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer
BeautyAndTheBlush 7/28/2011 9:44:00 PM
I have oily skin, and especially at school it gets super oily...so this moisturizer (containing mineral oil) wasn't the way to go. It goes on really nice, it's just one day I tried putting it under my makeup and when I got to school someone asked me why my face was so shiny...ahhaaha, I said it's because of this moisturizer I used!! I love the product, I totally recommend this to anyone with dry to combination skin, but oily skin people, don't use this...it made me look like I was sweating even before we started gym glass :) ! Since it has collagen in it, I use it as an under eye treatment before I go to bed. It's really great for that! It's also great for any sunburn you get on your face. It smelled kinda odd though I must admit, but who really smells your face other than you? :P Thanks and remember to celebrate YOUR beauty everyday! :)

Mascara -Rimmel - Extra Super Lash (Curved Wand)
BeautyAndTheBlush 7/28/2011 9:36:00 PM
This mascara ended up clumping on my lashes a few months after I bought it, and it's also very easy to make a mistake and end up getting mascara marks all over your top eyelid (on your perfectly blended eyeshadow...-.-) I didn't like the curve in the brush because I don't think it really grasps all the eyelashes that well. Therefore, no I wouldn't buy this product again. Thanks, and remember to celebrate YOUR beauty everyday! :)
