Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
rated 5 of 5

I'm really kicking myself for not purchasing this Primer earlier, because its by far the best I have tried- and I already thought I had found my Holy Grail Primer (Hard Candy Sheer Envy) ...I purchased this on a whim one day, with an attatched bonus tube of the Studio Secrets Anti-Dull Primer (another great product!) I was simply just curious, and the price was fabulous. As much as I adore my Hard Candy Sheer Envy, I love trying new products- and I just love this. I apply this using a MAC 109se to keep it more sanitary, and apply it all over my face with the brush. This leaves me with a matte finish, that evens out my skintone- but doesn't make my face feel dry. My concealer and foundation apply smoothly over this, and I only had to blot my face twice as oppsed to 3-4 times with the HC Primer. I find the bonus tube of the Studio Secrets Anti-Dull primer is so similar to this, but simply more runny in texture & it gives your skin that lift on dull days. I'm very happy that I gave this a try! :)

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Don't Steal My Thunder
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 4/5/2011 8:48:00 PM

This is just perfect for a sexy, smokey eye. I have become obsessed with these Wet 'N' Wild Trio's and cannot believe the quality. Somedays I actually reach for these Trio's more then my MAC eyeshadows, and that's saying alot since I feel MAC carries the best eyeshadows out there- and I have a whole palette full of MAC shadows. I wanted to give these a try after hearing so many positive reviews, and I'm so happy I did. Wet 'N' Wild has really stepped up and created some great products. All three colors are very nicely pigmented and soft. I never deal with any fall-out, or creasing- which is great because for paying such a low price ($4.27 CAD) I figured that there must be at least one downfall. The Shimmery black looks just stunning over a black base (Like NYX's Black Bean Jumbo Pencil) and the white and silver compliment each other very well.I also like taking mixing these with other colors in my collection, no need to always use only the Trio colors :)

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Knock on Wood
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 4/5/2011 8:41:00 PM

Wow, these Wet 'n' Wild Trio's have me very impressed- I honeslty never thought these where as good as the raves on Youtube made them out to be. When it comes to eyeshadow, I'm a MAC girl all the way- and NYX sometimes- I like MAC shadow because I feel I'm getting much longer use out of them. Recently though, I thought I would try more drugstore items, and I have been floored by the quality of some items (from L'oreal, Hard Candy, NYX etc...) and this trio is no exception. All three colors are richly pigmented and soft. I personally would not wear the 'Browbone' color as a highlight, but its a gorgeous lid color. The other two colors are gorgeous either on the crease or lid. The dark shimmery brown is just divine! it goes with so many colors. I have three of the these Trio's (Walking on Eggshells & Don't Steal my Thunder & this) and I'm just so impressed :) I want to purchase more, and I cannot wait to discover more drugstore gems out there. I love all makeup, Drugstore or Department store- and I think these are great :)....The price is fab, the packaging is alright- but its nothing to fret about. Love this! <3

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - makeup dissolving facial cleansing wipes
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 3/29/2011 7:41:00 PM

I feel that these are the best makeup removing wipes on the market. I have tried so many from Equate, Olay and Neutrogena. All of them would always leave me with breakouts, and would never fully remove my makeup- especially eye makeup, and mascara. I recently have been purchasing a lot of drugstore products, and I feel that so many brands have improved thier products (including Cosmetics & Skincare) ......I am so happy with these cloths, they are great for days where your to tired to cleanse, or simply for travel purposes. Somtime I even like using these to refresh my face.

Cleansers -Olay - Purifying Mud Lathering Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 3/29/2011 7:33:00 PM

Such a beautiful cleanser- this leaves my face feeling so soft and like just left the spa. It feels so luxurious when lathered on the face, I especially love using this in the shower- it combines with the hot steam, leaving my pores tightened and refreshed. I purchased this on clearance one day, and I have to say that I'm looking into trying more cleansers from Olay, I feel like they truly do work and leave your skin feeling radiant. After using this, and then moisturizing, I feel like my skin is just glowing :) I also like mixing this with a drop of exfoliator.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 3/29/2011 7:27:00 PM

I wanted to purchase this after hearing so many raves about the Eyeshadow trio's from Wet N' Wild. I wanted to try this one particularly because of the perfect array of neutrals. I personally would not combine all three colors, as I feel that would be shimmer overload- I adore shimmer, but I like to balance it out with something matte in the crease. The first off white color is identical to MAC's Nylon, and I know because I own Nylon and when applied to the brow bone, there is no difference. The shimmery light brown is my favorite for the lid, with something like MAC's Print in the crease, or MAC's Heritage Rouge pigment. The shimmery champagne pink is beautiful for either your lid or brow bone. All of these colors blend exceedingly well, and apply soft like butter. I do admit tha after 8 hours, there is *slight* creasing- but nothing that is obvious. I'm normally a MAC and NYX girl when it comes to Eyeshadows, but I'm loving these and cannot wait to try more! My only gripe the the awful, flimsy pacakaging- but who cares if the quality is so great.

Concealers -Rimmel - Match Perfection Concealer
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 3/29/2011 7:20:00 PM

Absolutely amazing. This is by far the best drugstore concealer I have purchased, and I have tried so many. This has amazing coverage, blends well, great packaging, and a wonderful price ($6.47CAD) I can honestly say that I have been reaching for this more then my MAC Studio Finish Concealer. I have the lightest shade Ivory, which matches me perfectly and blends so well under the eyes. I also have a few acne marks on the right side of my face, and this covers them nicely without looking obvious. When it comes to makeup, I love the works- but some days for lighter coverage, I just love using this to even out my skintone. I cannot express how many concealers look so blatantly obvious when spot applied- but not this treasure. I hope Rimmel never discontinues this, and I'm planning to purchase a few extra's just in case they happen to. This is spectactular, and I think everyone should give it a try- I'm so glad I purchased it on a whim.

Powder -New York Color - Smooth Skin Loose Powder
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 3/15/2011 8:50:00 PM

Wow. For a powder that only cost $2.97- this has certainly given my MAC Prep + Prime Powder a run for its money. I personally like to set my liquid foundation with a light application of MAC's Studio Fix Powder, or Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. I've always loved translucent powders for 'finishing' a makeup look, or to brighten under my eyes. It may seem like an extra step, or to heavy for some- but I found a way to make it work. After setting with Studio Fix Powder, I buff it in with MAC's Fix + and apply this afterwards all over my face with a fluffly brush. I love the effect it gives my skin :) and I honeslty have not touched my MAC Prep + Prime since purchasing this. I have been so impressed lately with Drugstore products, particularly from Wet N' Wild & Hard Candy. I would take away a lippie for the horrible packaging, its so flimsy :( but the product itself makes up for that little issue.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Naturale
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 3/10/2011 1:20:00 AM

Probably one of the best Mascara's for the lower lashes. I absolutley adore the wand of this mascara- it reaches every single tiny eyelash, leaving them looking perfectly sculpted and dark. I find many mascara wands are to bulky, or are just hard to work with. Before purchasing this on a whim (I figured why not for the $2.50 pricetag :P) I almost purchased a full size of MAC's Zoomlash (which is also fabulous for the lower lashes) after trying a sample size for awhile.I love how Naturale doesn't smudge at all, not even after a full day of wear. I will be repurchasing this once I run out- I also love this for blending my false eyelashes with my natural lashes, as the wand has plastic bristles. I'm so pleased with this mascara =)

Makeup Brushes -Quo - Blush Brush
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 3/10/2011 1:11:00 AM

I have really grown to adore this Blush Brush. At first, it wasn't really a favorite of mine, and I opted for the Ecotools Blush Brush instead. Since venturing into makeup, applying blush has always been something I have struggled with. Everytime, I was told to apply blush to the apple of the cheeks, and I was always left with a wierd looking finish. Finally, I figured that for myself, I love applying blush starting at the top of my face as opposed the the 'apple' :) It always leaves me glowing, not looking like a clown. I feel that this blush is perfect for this type of application. I found the Ecotools brush to soft and big, and the MAC 116 to tapered- leaving me with 80's stripes. This blush beat them all out, and I just love it. I have a few QUO brushes, and while some of them I haven't used in awhile (just the eye brushes, and the Angled face brush)- I always reach for this one. I think they are great brushes to start out with, or to hold onto and use permanentely. These are usually 40% off every week at Shoppers, and I believe I paid around $11 for mine.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 3/7/2011 6:14:00 PM

Wow, this is such an amazing foundation! At first, I had trouble using this even with concealer and a setting powder, I would get greasy within 20 minutes- and touching up would just make my skin look worse, and this ultimately broke me out horribly. What I loved about this was how natural it looked when applied over a primer- even without any concealer, it looks like a second skin. You cannot even detect that there is any foundation on your face, it just looks like you where born with amazing skin :) ....One day, I was in a major rush. After finishing my eye makeup, I quickly applied this with my hands and again I was left with that flawless finish. This time, I didn't set this with any powder and it last quite some time on my face- I didn't even have time to apply blush, but I still had this healthy glow going on. I was sold on this when my brother saw me and said 'See, your skin looks fine without makeup' ......I am so happy that I gave this stuff a second chance, I nearly was going to swap it away. I also cannot wait to wear this to work! I work outside at a Golf Course, and I like to do my eye makeup so I look like I have some life on my face at 6am, but I found all concealers & foundations made me look ill and pale- this makes me look like I got 8 + hours of rest. Yay for Face & Body foundation! <3 The only downside is that this doesn't last very long :( I find when it wear off, it looks nice and dewy- then it sort of fades. Luckily, it still provides a sheer coverage, which for outside work is what I need.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Overrich - Heritage Rouge Pigment
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 3/1/2011 7:22:00 PM

This pigment is just AMAZING! This is one of those pigments I really wish that I had purchased in the full size jar- Heritage Rouge is the most perfect crease or lid color. I was not interested in MAC when the Overrich collection came out, but that collection released two of my favorite pigments (the other one being Blonde's Gold) .....I recently discovered The Beauty Sampler and I purchased a huge amount of Heritage Rouge based on swatches and EOTD's I had seen on blogs. To me, this is a mixture of purple and rich burgundy- it looks gorgoeus with seriously every single color on the lid! anything from Gold to Taupe to Bronze. I normally opt for Gray, Black, or brown shadow on my crease- but as of late, I have been getting tired of that look and Heritage Rouge is the perfect change of pace. It doesn't look to bright, or to purple. If MAC ever re-released this I will be purchasing a full size. For now, I'm happy with my sample size :) luckily with MAC pigments, a little bit goes a long way.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Blonde's Gold Pigment
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 2/21/2011 3:01:00 AM

Finally, the perfect gold for my skintone that doesn't look to orange or harsh. I absolutely love this pigment on my lid, with a darker crease color (like MAC's Espresso or Print) and I love this for my lower lashline as well. This color really brings out the green in my eyes- its amazing! I recently wanted to order some MAC pigments from The Beauty Sampler. I've always loved MAC pigments, but purchasing a full size means you'll have it for years. I own the infamous Vanilla pigment, and nearly three years later, its still full from nearly everyday use. When I recieved all the pigments I ordered, this one just really stuck out to me when I swatched it- the others where gorgeous (like Heritage Rouge & Cocomotion) but this was just beautiful. I apply this over the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Milk' and foiled with Fix + and its just gorgeous! I'm so happy that I found a compatible gold for my skintone (NC 20-25 for ref.)

Blush -MAC - Cubic
rated 5 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 2/19/2011 6:22:00 PM

By far, the best MAC blush I have tried! Cubic is such a gorgeous color, that I never even thought of purchasing. I always order my MAC stuff online, since a counter is very far away. I was going to order the matte blush 'Buff' because it seemed like the color that would go with every eye look, and I love the matte formula's. I had a chance to go to a MAC counter finally, and when I swatched Buff, I wasn't impressed. Beneath it was a beautiful, mauve/pink and the swatch was heavenly- it was the perfect color, and so neutral, but still pigmented. When I saw that it was Cubic, I was really surprised. I never, ever even looked up swatches for Cubic online, and I really wish I did! This blush matches every single eyeshadow look- not to mention this is so buildable. A little bit looks like a healthy glow, and a little more look stunning with a highlighter on the temples, and a soft contour. What I adore most about this is the fact that if you over apply this, it will not look clownish or garish. My other favorite blush from MAC is Melba, but its really easy to apply a little to much at times. I'm so happy that I swatched this shade, and found another MAC blush formulation that isn't splotchy like the Sheertones- Holy Grail material <3 *UPDATE* Its official, this is my Holy Grail and I honestly don't think I will every try another MAC blush- because as cheesy as this sounds, this blush completes every makeup look I do. I'm tempted to Try Well Dressed and some other blushes, but I probably won't for quite some time.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Espresso
rated 4 of 5
Bambie_Blonde 2/13/2011 11:11:00 PM

I absolutely love Espresso as a crease color :) Its the perfect dark brown that can match with any lid color- anything from neutral to bright. I do admit though, that Espresso is slightly hard to blend. The only way I can get any rich pigmentation out of this is if I use a sticky base like NYX's Jumbo Pencil in Milk- otherwise, it goes on very sheer. I have tried so many other dark brown eyeshadows, but none of them compare to this color wise. Most of the darker brown eyeshadows I have tried tend to go on very muddy, or are just not dark enough. My favorite eyeshadows to pair with Espresso have to MAC's Club & Honey Lust- I still have to try some other combinations, but this is so versatile! I even love smuding this onto my lower lashline- it looks heavenly =) I would give it 5 stars if the pigmentation was slightly better.
