Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Eyeshadow Brush

This was the first eyeshadow brush that I bought and I love it! It applies eyeshadow nicely and it also blends pretty well too. For just a dollar I think this might be better than the high end eyeshadow brushes you would buy at the mall. But I have yet to try any of those kinds of brushes, so until I do, I can't make my full decision just yet. Anyway, I plan on buying a couple more of the e.l.f. eyeshadow brushes. They work great!

Lotions/ Creams -Queen Helene - Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion
rated 4 of 5
BakaNekoShojo 4/28/2011 4:36:00 PM

I have been using this lotion for a while for two reasons: 1) I had run out of my favorite lotion and needed some ASAP. 2) A friend of mine gave it to me because her boyfriend didn't like the smell of it. For just $2 this lotion isn't that bad. Yes, it is a little runny and it does take a while for your skin to absorb it, but I think it's worth it. It's a perfect lotion for spring and summer weather because it's a light moisturizer. But once fall and winter roll around, I'm going to have to go back to my favorite lotion because my skin gets EXTREMELY dry during the cold seasons. You get what you pay for with this lotion, but if used during the right times of the year, this lotion will work great with your skin and won't be a waste of money. The smell of the lotion isn't that bad. It doesn't smell good but it doesn't smell bad either. I guess you could say it's a neutral scent, but it doesn't bother me at all. I don't really like the packaging though. It's kind of awkward since it's such a huge bottle, and sometimes I end up pouring out too much on my hand. It's not that big of a deal though, just a minor flaw. I will definitely buy more when I run out.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Shea Butter Skin Enriching Moisturiser
rated 5 of 5

I love, love, loooove this lotion! It's the best lotion I have ever used! I have tried all kinds of lotions for different skin types. I've tried Suave, St. Ives, Lubriderm, Equate, Nivea, and so on, and lotions for dry skin, normal skin, very dry skin, etc. I didn't know about Jergens until my dad started buying it. He told me to try it since I had problems with dry skin and I did. I'm so glad he let me use his stash when I first started out because it did wonders to my skin. My skin was smooth and soft as soon as I applied it, and I could go for more than a day without applying lotion after I started using it. I also noticed that it helped with my skin condition, keratosis pilaris, and it soothed the parts of my skin that was affected by it. It also smells really good. For some reason, to me, it smells like watermelon and something else that smells nice. Which is weird, since it has shea butter in it, not watermelon and whatever that other fragrance is. Anyway, this is my HG lotion and I will continue to use it forever!

Eye Makeup Remover -Cover Girl - CLEAN - Make-up Remover For Eyes & Lips
rated 1 of 5
BakaNekoShojo 4/28/2011 3:50:00 PM

God I hate this product. I bought it once and will never buy it again. It was about $3 but that was still a waste of $3. Anyway, it smells terrible, it's greasy, and everytime I used it my eyes suffered. They would sting and my vision would become blurry for a while after using it. Plus it didn't do a very good job at removing mascara and eyeliner, especially liquid eyeliner. But it removed eyeshadow pretty well, and that's about it. I love CoverGirl's products but this was just awful. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner-Black
rated 5 of 5

This is the best eyeliner I've used so far. It really does stay in place. Once you apply it, it isn't going anywhere until you wash it off. I bought this after a friend told me about it and I had some extra money on me. I'm really glad she told me about this eyeliner, because before I bought it my eyeliner before it wouldn't stay in place on my waterline, especially at the outer corners. I would have to reapply it on the outer corners every hour and that becomes very annoying after a while. When I first applied this eyeliner I noticed that I didn't have to touch up on it until a couple of hours later. I also like that it's a retractable pencil instead of a pencil, I don't really like pencil eyeliners but will use them if necessary. I also like that it's not that pricey, at least in my area. It's like $4 to $5 at some of the drugstores where I live. Until I find an eyeliner that works even better than this one, I'm going to continue to buy this eyeliner.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
BakaNekoShojo 4/28/2011 12:26:00 PM

I have been using this product for at least two weeks and I absolutely love it! It really does control shine, whether you're wearing makeup or not. I love the smell too, it has a nice fragrance. I don't understand why other people think it smells bad, but I guess everyone's noses are more sensitive than others. After about a week of using this I noticed that my skin appeared brighter than usual, and I think that's a bonus for me! It has also helped prevent acne and I now get fewer blemishes than I did before I started using this. I love this product and will continue to use it.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Exact
rated 3 of 5
BakaNekoShojo 4/27/2011 8:03:00 PM

I have just recently started using this mascara so I don't have much to say about it right now. So far, it's an okay mascara. It does separate my lashes, it doesn't clump, and it does give my lashes a little length. But it doesn't really do much for volume. I guess it's either because my lashes are already kind of thick or I bought a bad mascara. Either way, it's an okay mascara for me but I have tried much better mascaras. And I only say I will buy it again because if my favorite mascara is out of stock or I don't have the money for a new mascara when the time comes, I will just buy this instead.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational
rated 5 of 5
BakaNekoShojo 4/27/2011 7:51:00 PM

I love this lipstick! I have one Color Sensational lipstick so far but plan on buying more. The one I have right now is a red shade called Very Cherry. It's kind of bright on me, which is my only complaint about the Color Sensational lipsticks so far. I can't seem to find any reds that will match with my yellow undertone. I kind of picked Very Cherry on a whim, but also because the other reds were either too dark or too bright. I also like the scent of the lipstick. I don't how to describe it, but it smells nice to me! I also really like the packaging for it, it makes it look kind of expensive or something. The lipstick goes on smooth and creamy, and it leaves my lips feeling moisturized. It lasts a long time as well, and depending on what you eat, it also lasts through eating. I only had to do a slight touch-up after eating while wearing it. All in all, I really like this lipstick and I plan on buying Very Cherry again when I run out as well as other shades.

Concealers -Cover Girl - Invisible Concealer
rated 2 of 5
BakaNekoShojo 1/17/2011 12:12:00 PM

This was an okay concealer for me. It doesn't really cover up my acne scars, but it covers up the redness of my acne. It also doesn't really cover up the veins under my eyes. I pretty much use this as a base for my foundation since the coverage isn't that great. I only buy this concealer when my favorite concealers are out of stock. At least the packaging and price for it are decent.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Clean Makeup *new formula*
rated 4 of 5
BakaNekoShojo 1/17/2011 12:07:00 PM

This is the first foundation I ever used and I will continue to use it. I have used both the normal skin and oily skin formulas. The oily skin one is better for my skin, since I have combination skin, but the normal skin one works just as well for me during the cold seasons. I like that it is easy to blend and allows my skin to breathe. I would say the coverage is light to medium, but you can build the coverage up. I also like that it's a decent price, it's about $5 at stores in my area. It also dries up any blemishes I have on my face so they are gone within a couple of days. The only complaints I have for this foundation are that: 1) I wish there were more of a variety of shades. I'm currently using Warm Beige and it's a little too pink, but the darker shades are too dark for me. 2) I wish it were in a pump bottle or something. I really hate the packaging. Other than those two complaints, I really like this foundation and will continue to use it. Edit: I bought this foundation in the shade Warm Beige but the formula for oily skin since I could never find the one for oily skin in stock. This particular foundation is a much better match for my skin. It isn't a perfect match, for it makes my face SLIGHTLY lighter than the rest of my body. But it's not that noticeable so I will continue to buy this particular formula and shade for now on.
