Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco in Gabrielle 19
Bagbabe53 3/25/2013 10:53:00 PM
Older DD purchased this for me for Christmas, and I love the color. I have tried most of the recommended reds for my fair complexion and ash blonde hair. They either turn orange and/or wear off almost immediately. I touch this one up only a few times a day or evening and it's gorgeous! It feels luxuriously creamy but dries to a velvet finish and does not smear like so many other reds. Love the unique case too; I just push in the gold tip to release or pop the lipstick back in to the case. Great for such an expensive lipstick. Just love this lipstick, and will purchase myself when it runs out.

BB Cream -Estee Lauder - Daywear BB Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Creme SPF 35
Bagbabe53 2/26/2012 4:27:00 PM
Just tried the sample of the light shade given to me by the NM SA. I needed to do this because even at age 59 TMs and foundations seem to be "eaten" by my combo skin within a few hours. I love multi-taskers, and the high SPF and antioxidants appealed to me. This BB cream has now lasted over five hours on me, plus the coverage is good without being as heavy as a foundation or most oil-free TMs. It just looks like I have clear, even toned skin! Will be back in the store to purchase as soon as I can.

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Rich Lip Color SPF 12 - Heather Pink
Bagbabe53 10/4/2011 9:21:00 PM
Love this color as an every day shade, a pink with a drop of beige. I am fair, with ash blonde hair and hazel eyes; Healther Pink is not bubblegum, not too muddy, orangey, etc. It's like my lips only a couple of shades deeper, and looks good with neutral or smokey eyes. I like the SPF and the creamy texture too. Just wish it was a bit more long wearing, which is why I knocked off a star. Expect some touchups during the day.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco in Organdi Rose 09
Bagbabe53 5/11/2011 10:12:00 PM
Needed a lift after a week in the Midwest for my dad's final illness and funeral. Happened into the duty free at the airport and purchased this lipstick, a lovely rose on my fair skinned, ash blonde visage; the color brightened my face without being garish. Haven't yet decided if I prefer this over MAC Viva Glam IV, my usual HG cool lip color, however.

Liquid -Mary Kay - Time Wise Matte Wear Liquid Foundation
Bagbabe53 3/7/2011 9:15:00 PM
This foundation is applied over MK's new primer (also good) with a foundation brush. I also use it when I'm just wearing some TM and need a little extra coverage on spotty areas. Even at 58 and postmeno, my skin still "eats" foundation. The only alternative was Lauder's Double Wear, but at $33 USD it was a bit steep. Secondly, sometimes the DW looked and felt too heavy. This new MK foundation is lighter, but stays on for hours and has great coverage. It does not make me break out, and it's only $20 a tube! A new HG foundation without the crazy price!

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Oil Free
Bagbabe53 10/26/2010 10:25:00 PM
My "yes" is a qualified one. This TM is great for the summer's effect on my combo skin when I need an oil free formula. This TM gives great coverage, lasts a while, and is natural looking. I use the "Nude" shade for my fair skin and achieve a bronzier look with BB Bronze SB as needed. Now in the fall i need slightly more moisture as my cheeks feel drier in the cooler weather, and will likely go back to my Mary Kay TM until late spring next year.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco - Paris
Bagbabe53 6/23/2010 3:59:00 PM
Lovely color which changes on me from a medium neutral red to a dark pinky coral (I am fair with ash blond hair and hazel eyes), and wear is medium; you will have to reapply after coffee or a meal. Texture is pleasantly creamy but not greasy. I love the case because the top does not come off, but then again for 30 USD, it should be good. This will be my go-to shade whenever I want a red lip. Expensive, but well worth it.

Fragrances -Jo Malone - Red Roses
Bagbabe53 1/15/2010 9:12:00 PM
Love this scent; it's great when I spray just a bit on my pillow at night. I know roses are considered a scent for a femme of a certain age, but so what? My 25- year old DD likes it on me! Secondly, JM is a lot about mixing her scents. I love Red Roses mixed with a bit of Pomengranate Noir or Verbenas of Provence depending on my mood that day. Smells SO GOOD! And it lasts most of the day too, without being too heavy, even mixed with the Pomengranate Noir, which is a heavier scent. Will next buy the large bottle. Only complaint? JM is so expensive--- $55 for the small, and $100 for the large size.

Foundations -Elizabeth Arden - Intervene
Bagbabe53 1/7/2010 7:54:00 PM
Received a $30 GC for the local Arden Red Door Spa, so I thought I'd use it for foundation, as I had run out of my usual Lauder DoubleWear. Although I'm mid-50s and postmeno, I still have combo skin with oily T-zone, with fair skin, which "eats" most foundations, liquid or mineral. I first liked that Intervene comes in a bottle with a pump, which was easy to use, and does not require me to but my fingers along the rim of the bottle, so it's a cleaner application. The pump was easy to use, with two quick squirts just enough for using all over my face, including an extra dab for spotty areas. I topped it off with a bit of MK loose powder and my BB Rose Shimmerbrick. I wore my DayWear SPF 30 under it. The coverage was medium to full, and lasted more than eight hours with no touchups, Intervene is almost or as good as DoubleWear on my skin. Both are great products.

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Satin Lip Colour, Sangria
Bagbabe53 10/2/2009 2:38:00 PM
Finally, a long-wearing lip color which does not dry out my lips! I normally do not pay $22 for a lipstick, but when Nordy's sent me a sample of the "Currant' shade of this new formula, I tried it. It did not last ALL day, but it did hold up for three to four hours before fading, and without drying my lips out. So off to Nordy's I went, to buy a tube, and to get a free sample lip pencil. The LM rep had me try the Sangria shade, which goes well with my fair skin, hazel eyes, and ash blonde hair. The shade is deep and bright, and looks great with subdued eye makeup. Will purchase this again.

Lipstick -MAC - Most Popular

Love this color; wanted a deeper pink without any orange, but not fuschia. I also like the sheerness of the color, great for daytime.

Brows -Elizabeth Arden - Dual Perfection Brow Shaper and Eye Liner
Bagbabe53 3/19/2009 9:48:00 PM
Super product, and it STAYS ON! I am fair with dark blond hair with lighter highlights. At 56, my brows are growing in thinner and often in white! Plus I still have oily skin in the T zone, further adding to my problem, so most pencils wear off at the first sign of heat or humidity.. I use the blonde shade, and it's not too dark like other brow products. Normally I don't use Arden products, but received a gift card for an Arden spa facial with a makeup touchup. Besides a super facial I received, the day was not busy, so I got a full makeup application. I fell in love with this product! Will definitely continue to purchase this!

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Day Wear plus multi protection anti oxidant base spf30
Bagbabe53 3/3/2009 11:07:00 PM
Bought this for my 56-year old skin as I'm in the car a lo.t, Although I have worn SPF regularly for over 35 years (no wrinkles and few lines as a result), I find the left side of my face still has sustained a bit more sun damage than the side away from the sun. Although expensive (33 USD) a small amount spreads easily, and it's a nice base under foundation on days when I wear foundation. Does not make my skin greasy, just soft and protected. Great product!

Mascara -Chanel - Mascara Exceptionnel
Bagbabe53 9/18/2008 10:28:00 PM
I also got this as a sample from Allure like some others, and thought it would just be another expensive, over-rated mascara, but I loved it! Like another reviewer, I too use my Shu eyelash curler before applying it for maximum effect. If you follow the directions on rotating the brush, it really works at lengthening and curling the lashes. I may actually buy a tube in spite of the $28 price, but want to try Lauder's Sumptuous Mascara first.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure- Romantic
Bagbabe53 5/29/2008 2:13:00 PM
I treated myself to this in Paris. Although I'm fair, I have lots of problems finding pink lipsticks which work for me. Most turn whitish, making my teeth look yellow, or have too much blue or orange in them. This shade is a rosy pink on me, and is gorgeous for everyday. When I need some sparkle, I put a bit of glittery gloss over it, and that's it.
