I have this in Enchanted and Adventurous and I love both of them. The shades are gorgeous and they are a great combination of matte and shimmery colours. They both compliment my green eyes and they stay put for a very long time! I have very oily eyelids and I can't keep shadows on for more than a couple of hours. With a primer, these stay on looking beautiful for about 10 hours. They are very pricy in Australia but they are still worth it compared to other cheaper products. I will definitely repurchase these shades and probably try other combinations.
Treatments (Eye) -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Eye Brightening Cream
Badoumba 10/4/2012 1:30:00 AM
I think I got the newer version of this product which is called "eye lightening cream" instead of brightening and comes in a fancy pebble-like bottle with a brush applicator. This is seriously the worst product I have ever bought! As soon as I got this under my eye, the burning sensation was unbearable. I had to rinse my eyes several times with running water before the atrocious feeling faded. The packaging is pretty bad too. You easily get too much product and the "brush applicator" is completely useless sinc you need to dab the product with your finger anyway. I was expecting much more from a AUD 20 eye cream. I am staying well clear of Aveeno products from now on. DO NOT BUY!!!
I have been using the 3 steps system (#3 for oily skin) for almost 2 months now. My skin is quite oily, especially on my forehead and I do breakout regularly around my mouth and between my eyebrows. After 2 or 3 weeks, I could see a difference in the quality of my skin, the pores looked smaller and my forehead wasn't as shiny as it used to be. I didn't breakout for about 2 weeks which rarely happens usually. Then after 3 or 4 weeks, I started breaking out quite badly on my chin. I thought it could be a hormonal issue (as I messed up with my birth control pill at the time) and continued using it. It did not improve, I tried using a richer moisturiser, not insisting on my chin so much when using the soap and the toner. It only got worse so I have just decided to stop using this system. I really wanted this to work. I am back to looking for a skin care routine that would work for my oily, hyper-pigmented, prone to breakouts skin :( If you are looking for a good skincare system, I still think you should try this one as some people had great results with it. I bought the trial kit and I would suggest anyone to do the same to figure out if this is right for you or not.
I am a newbie when it comes to nails. I must say I am VERY happy with this product: dries really quick, keeps the polish on for a long time (as I speak I have had it on for 6 days and only have minor chips on the tips of 2 nails) and is super shiny. I even find it a little too shiny! It almost looks as if the polish was still wet. I would really recomend this product as it does what it claims to do! EDIT: When I got about halfway through the bottle, this started to create bubbles. It really doesn't look god on the nails. Don't shake it or more bubbles will appear...
Blush -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Blush - Cloud Wine
Badoumba 2/27/2012 5:49:00 PM
This is my first cream blush and I must say I was impressed by the texture of this. It is very creamy, very fresh and easy to blend. The cloud wine is a nice colour but you have to be careful not to put too much product on as it does have glitters. I found it much easier to apply with a stippling brush than with the fingers. I usually put a little bit of powder blush on top of the mousse. It looks more natural, not as shiny and lasts longer. I will probably try other colours in this range when I finish this one. EDIT: This broke me out :( I tend to have bad reactions to Maybelline's products (although I used Dream Matte Mousse foundation for years with no problem). Will probably finish this pot and not repurchase,
Polishes -Maybelline - express finish in mauve accents
Badoumba 2/27/2012 5:44:00 PM
I got this on sale for about $2. I LOVE this colour, it's a very nice nude mauve. I found it very easy to apply, it goes on smoothly and dries very quickly. I can't tell how long it lasts because I only put it on yesterday. But so far so good!!! I am really not an expert in applying polish and so far this is the easiest one I found.
I really like the texture of this: easy to apply, easy to blend, stays on all day, doesn't crease. I am not too excited about this shade though: I think it looks a bit reddish on me and it's not very flattering. I usually use a very little amount and put other powder shadows on top.
I mainly use this shade as a base, adding some black khol on top looks great. This is my everyday office make up: easy to apply, quick and lasts all day. This product doesn't crease at all and stay on all day even with my oily eyelids and teary eyes. I don't like to use it on its own as I don't think it is flattering on my skin tone. I would probably buy it again. EDIT: This product dried out very quickly. Like most of the other ELF products I bought. I will probably not bother ordering at ELF again.
When looking for a bronzer I usually go for the ones with several colours in them. I think it make a more natural, sunkissed look. I use this one as a contour to give my face some definition. It is not too shimmery but gives my skin a nice healthy glow that I love! I tend to mix all 4 shades with my brush but I sometime use only the lightest for highlight. This products allows many many different look. I will definitely purchase it again.
Bourjois is definitely one of my favourite make up brands. I am French and moved to Australia: my mum has always used this blush and when I open mine and smell it, it reminds me of home. :) As long as I can remember, I always had a Bourjois blush (I never pick the same shade though): love the smell, love the packaging, love the large range of shades, love the texture and the fact that one pot will last for months! I particularly like this shade as it is not too shimmery or pink. It is kind of a sentimental product for me and I think I will always have one of these with me. I just think they are a bit hard to find here (and so much more expensive!)
Pressed Powders -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
Badoumba 1/24/2012 12:57:00 AM
I bought this because I wanted a compact with a mirror for on the go touch ups. I have combination skin so I need to apply powder throughout the day. Most drugstore compacts I have seen are made of cheap plastics. This one is no exception and I only hope it will last me a few month before it brakes. The fact that the mirror is below the powder is not really convenient... And that sponge that comes with it is just AWFUL! It has a very strong chemical smell. I replaced it with a puff I had at home. The powder itself is quite nice, very blendable and gives a natural look. I like the texture very soft and silky. I will probably buy it again or try another brand if I brake the compact too early...
