Alright, so I finally caved and bought this palette after owning the original Naked palette for almost a year, and I honestly don't regret it a bit! I love the improved packaging, it's much sturdier than the original with a larger mirror. And the colours are just to die for! Just like the original the shadows are highly pigmented, long lasting and apply beautifully. Love!!
Honestly what can I say about this product that hasn't already been said? It's a cult favourite for a reason. This palette is amazing, and I reach for either this or the Naked 2 everyday. Urban Decay shadows apply and blend like a dream! I feel like this palette will last me forever, but if for some reason I do ever run out I would repurchase in a heartbeat.
Lip Treatments -Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm spf 25
Ayashii 1/9/2013 2:09:00 AM
Oh my god, after years and years I have finally found my HG lipbalm! I'm a lip balm junkie with extremely dry lips, so I've tried pretty much everything out there. I have this in both Lemon and Mint (gotta love the duo pack at Sephora!) and the Lemon smells like meringue pie to me, yum! This glides on beautifully then sinks right into the lips. I can go all day without applying more which is unheard of. The only downside? My tube seems to have vanished (I'm looking at you, mom) and no other lip balm can compare for me now!
Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface
Ayashii 1/9/2013 2:03:00 AM
I got a mini of this blush and Tarte's bronzer this summer, because I wanted to try this out without paying the full price. The full size is expensive but I do see what all the hype is about. Dollface is the perfect light pink! This blush is very buildable, and lives up to the 12 hour wear claim. It is the only blush that actually stays on me all day. Every other blush I've used in the past is gone in a few hours. I'm excited to try out the other shades in this line!
Please note this review is for the clearing treatment in the white packaging, as opposed to the original black. I was intrigued by this product as soon as I saw it. Sure the name and packaging seem very gimmicky, but all the girls at my Sephora were raving about this. I grabbed a sample, and wow. This has been really helping with my monster hormonal acne flare up that has been on and off for about 2 years now. (seriously I've been trying everything!) I've used this as both a full face mask and a spot treatment. I personally find it works better as a mask. I use this at night and when I remove it my bumps have been reduced. When I wake up there is a noticeable difference. There is also a glow to my face. I actually enjoy the eucalyptus smell, it's relaxing. The only downside to this mask? The price! It's $70 Canadian for such a small jar. Because of the amazing effects this has had on my skin though, I will purchase the full size when my sample is finished.
I love these masks! They make my skin super smooth and glowy. They're a nice little treat after a stressful day. I love how cheap they are too! I always have a bunch on hand.
Lotions/ Creams -Cake Beauty - Desserted Island Supreme Body Mousse
Ayashii 11/25/2011 10:17:00 AM
This stuff is amazing! New HG body lotion that's for sure! It's not greasy at ALL, it sinks into the skin fast, actually moisturizes (I've seen serious improvements in the softness of my skin) and smells amazing! Like vanilla and coconuts. I can skip perfume as this lasts on my skin all day. I got this on sale at The Bay here in Canada (seriously 50% off all Cake products!) but when I run out I will gladly pay the full price. Especially happy knowing that I'm putting something 95% natural on my skin!
HG blush! I love how it look on my pale skin, like an actual living doll! Most blushes are way too dark and accentuate my redness but this is lovely. It's not super pigmented so it gives skin a gorgeous pink sheen that lasts all day as opposed to other blushes. Don't be afraid of all the glitter, it doesn't show up on the skin. Just be careful not to drop it like I did! Baked blushes are very fragile. I'll definitely repurchase.
Eye Makeup Remover -Rimmel - Gentle Eye Make Up Remover
Ayashii 11/25/2011 10:05:00 AM
I love this stuff! My friend introduced this to me and I've been hooked ever since! Non greasy and removes all traces of makeup (even the most waterproof formulas) without stinging my eyes. Not to mention dirt cheap! I'll never need another makeup remover again.
I love this mascara! I reach for either this or FAIRYDROPS in the morning. I'd read such good reviews on this masacara I bought it on impulse at Sephora. So glad I did! This adds so much length to my skimpy blonde eyelashes (my brother has longer eyelashes than me, seriously they're awful), that it actually looks like I'm wearing false lashes. The brush does a great job of separating (especially if I use L'oreal Telescopic as a base!) and holds my curl all day. It also stays in place without flaking all day! I got caught in an awful rainstorm and got totally drenched but my mascara stayed perfect! And yet it comes off so easily with makeup remover. The only con I would have to say is the top of the wand can get clumpy.
I'm on my 3rd one of these, so I figured I should finally get around to reviewing! I LOVE this powder. The coverage on this is fantastic! It covers up my redness better than any other product I've ever used. It also seems to make my skin glow. I don't like the chisel brush they recommended for this, it turns my face into a powdery cakey mess! Used with a lighter, fluffier brush and a light hand this is great stuff!
Like a few of the reviews below, I spotted the lovely shade Light Auburn and decided to go for it (Shoppers was out of my HG Feria Copper Shimmer #74). Dear god. My hair is BLACK BURGANDY. I'm a natural blonde. It looks awful with my colouring. I'll be grabbing some Color Oops first thing tomorrow then redyeing with Feria! Hands down the worst purchase I've ever made. Really disappointed L'oreal. :(
Okay, I have to admit I bought this because of the royal wedding. Embarrassing? A little. HOWEVER, this colour is simply gorgeous on my nails! I saw this at the store and I had a lot of trouble deciding to buy a nude nail polish for $10. I have a few other Essie polishes and I adore them, so I went for it. I could not stop staring at my nails after I put this on. I'm a nail biter so I don't like drawing attention to my short nails. This made them look fantastic! I also went a full week without any chips. That has never happened before. 3 weeks later, the colour is still on my toes. (PS this makes you look great in sandals)
So I own two curling irons, and still have never been able to hold a decent curl in my fine hair for more than 20 minutes. A review for this on the front page actually caught my eye, and after further reading I picked a bottle of this up at the drugstore. I figured for $3 it couldn't hurt. Just tried it tonight after my shower. WOW. Like seriously. WOW. It's been over 8 hours since I first used this and my hair is still curly! I've had so many compliments! I don't mind the smell, it's a bit chemically at first but fades to a nice grape smell. WILL BUY AGAIN!
This stuff STINKS. It is beyond awful, especially when you need to leave it on your hair for any period of time. I mean I've coloured my hair for almost 5 years and that is nothing compared to this. It smells like rotting eggs. When I finally rinsed it off, the smell still somewhat lingered, even when I put the cream on. The cream actually smelled decent, like a tropical island, but it felt very thick and when I dried my hair left a residue. Overall, not impressed. It might have tamed my frizz a little? Maybe? Still took me the same time to blowdry and flat iron. I didn't notice any shine either. My boyfriend even commented the next day that my hair smelled like eggs. Not something a girl ever wants to hear. Would NOT buy again.
