Polishes -OPI - Significant Other Color
Audrey882 5/2/2010 2:23:00 PM
I love the softness of this color. Although the polish looks like an iridescent purplish lavender in the bottle, the color goes on nearly clear (with one coat) and with a very fine shimmery pinkish purple sheen. This color is perfect for fair/cool toned skin as well as those who are a bit tanned and looks expensive and understated without making your hands look orangey or red. The consistency is great and goes on very smoothly and evenly with no streaking. Definitely recommended : )

Polishes -OPI - Yucatan if U Want
Audrey882 5/2/2010 2:13:00 PM
This polish is one of my favorites, the color is a very soft, matte raspberry and looks absolutely gorgeous on fair skin. The polish does not make my hands appear orangey, and the consistency is perfect, the polish goes on smoothly and evenly, drying to a very shiny (sparkle and shimmer free) matte. Due to being very pigmented this polish does chip quickly but if you apply a clear shine top coat the color will last a bit longer and will look perfectly finished. Love the color, love the finish, and definitely recommended!

Polishes -OPI - Skinny Dipn in Lake Michgn
Audrey882 5/2/2010 2:00:00 PM
I usually fall in love with OPI polishes at first sight but this one was a bit disappointing. The color in the bottle looks like a soft peach tinted blush and has very fine silvery glitter but when applied to the nail the color turns into an orangey peach and makes the skin surrounding the nail look orangey too. On top of that the polish started to thicken after several uses and no matter how much I rolled it the consistency is still thick and doesn't go smoothly onto the nail. Perhaps this color would look better on warm toned skin but if you've got fair, cool-toned skin (like me!) this is a definite no no.

Polishes -OPI - I'll Take the Cake
Audrey882 5/1/2010 4:02:00 PM
This is a great everyday natural color. Although it looks rather cupcake pink in the bottle, the actual color goes on nearly clear and gives nails a very soft finished pearl-tinted sheen. This color has no visible glittery bits and looks best on fair or tan skin without making the skin around your nails look orangey. This polish can also be used as a top coat over a matte color and makes the color underneath look finished and very soft. The consistency is great too, the polish goes on smoothly, is very fluid and easy to spread. Definitely one of my understated favorites!

Polishes -OPI - Pink Before You Leap
Audrey882 5/1/2010 3:50:00 PM
I absolutely love this color, its a very sheer soft victorian pink and has fine to medium sized silvery sparkles. Colour goes on smoothly and looks like a softly tinted shimmer. This color is perfect for fair skinned gals (like me!) because it does NOT make the skin surrounding the nail look orangey. The quality of the polish is great too, I've had this one for at least two years and the consistency is still very fluid. This polish does have a tendency to separate though, but once you roll between your hands for a bit the consistency and color return to normal (i'm guessing this is because it has 2 large metal stirring balls inside). Definitely recommended!

Treatments -The Body Shop - Almond Oil Nail and Cuticle Treatment (click pen)
Audrey882 4/18/2010 5:10:00 PM
This is a very likable product, the pen is very easy to use because you can twist the bottom to allow as much/as little product to be disposed from the brush-tip applicator which makes those manicure days less messy and time consuming. Also, the smell is very soft and creamy, almost like whipped cream and natural almond oil. More importantly, the product moisturizes nails very well, I wear nail polish often which leaves my natural nails soft, dry and brittle. Although this treatment does not help with brittleness it does add moisture and harden the nail's texture. For best results, be sure to remove all previous nail polish, wash hands and nails using a soapy nail brush then gently buff nail surface with a nail buffer BEFORE applying this treatment onto the nails. Only downside maybe that this treatment did not moisturize my cuticles very well even though my cuticles are not that dry! Oh well..this is a good product for moisturizing nails but for me I now use Lauren Brooke 'Island Paradise' Body Balm instead (it smells like pina colada and coconut and moisturizes hands, nails, AND cuticles, plus they are natural and many of their ingredients are fair trade).

Skincare - Face -The Body Shop - Aloe Vera Facial Wash
Audrey882 4/18/2010 4:49:00 PM
This product is perfect for sensitive and combination skin. The pump bottle is very easy to use and 1 pump is enough to cleanse your entire face (without makeup), 1 1/2 pumps is enough to cleanse your face of all powder grade makeups. Also the texture of the foam is incredibly soft but not too creamy and cleanses the skin without leaving residue and without drying the skin and is unscented and does not irritate the skin. Only downside is that this cleanser will only partially remove liquid foundations, moisturizers and sunscreen (even the oil free stuff) with the first wash, it would take 2 or more washes of 1 pump to remove these completely, and unfortunately 2-3 pumps in one wash will not. Otherwise, this is a great overall cleanser and the price is right ($16 from the Body Shop for 4.2 oz/125 mL). Definitely recommended.

Mascara -Nicole Miller Cosmetics - Maximum Volume Mascara - Black
Audrey882 4/9/2010 7:47:00 PM
Although I already have long lashes this mascara did not add any volume, all it did was smudge and flake after a day of shopping indoors. Also, I found that my eyes became itchy after a few hours of wear and the corners became pink. This mascara is definitely not for those who have sensitive eyes or for anyone who has long lashes in need of volume and a soft clean done up up.

Moisturizers -Nicole Miller Cosmetics - Daytime Moisturizer
Audrey882 4/9/2010 7:35:00 PM
I liked the convenient packaging and the soft smell but I found that this moisturizer was quite average. The SPF 15 is a nice touch but I prefer lighter moisturizers which have higher SPF. The texture went on ok on my bare skin but after applying my usually soft powder foundation this stuff made my makeup look cakey and caused me to break out. I will definitely not be repurchasing and even my mum who got me into this line last year has now long found better, higher quality makeup lines and so have I, so my recommendation is that you do too : )

Blush -Nicole Miller Cosmetics - Blush
Audrey882 4/9/2010 7:16:00 PM
I like that this blush comes in a convenient, small pressed powder compact but really this is just a regular blush and is a bit over priced. Also, just like their foundations, NM's blushes all have a warm undertone to them and look too orangey-pink on those who have fair or cool skin. I also found that the powder could have been more finely ground and even though I applied it with a blush brush the color would go on splotchy. Instead I now use Lauren Brooke silk blush in 'victorian rose', and the color is much more soft, very finely ground and lovely on fair skin. As for NM, I would not recommend their blush.

Foundations -Nicole Miller Cosmetics - Day Cover Creme to Powder Foundation
Audrey882 4/9/2010 7:00:00 PM
Although I did like the packaging of this compact, the actual product leaves much to be desired. The texture is too thick and goes on cakey even after applying it over freshly cleaned and exfoliated skin. Furthermore, this foundation will definitely clog pores, and it made my combination skin break out just hours after application. Also I find that this company does not make colours that will match fair and/or cool skin tones. I've noticed that their foundations (both mineral powder and cream based) have warm, yellowish undertones and can't be blended well to match cool and/or fair skin.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme
Audrey882 4/9/2010 6:48:00 PM
I bought this because I liked the natural ingredients and assumed that name meant this lotion would be soft, creamy and smell nice. I was wrong. This stuff is hard in texture and is really difficult to spread, even worse it doesn't absorb into the skin at all and left my hands greasy for nearly a half hour, and even then my skin was no different than before. The smell is very overpowering and smells like licorice and chalk-seriously! The packaging isn't great either, because of its hard texture and how greasy it makes your hands its hard to get any of the product out and its even harder to try to screw the lib back onto the jar. I must say, this company is giving a bad rep to natural/organic skincare! There are lots of other brands which are still natural/organic and work better than any commercial and chemical company and DEFINITELY better than Burt's Bees, these include Juliet's Room, Jurlique Skincare, SanRe Organic Skinfood, A'kin Skincare, and the list goes on...so don't be discouraged if your new to trying natural skincare and this junk happened to be your first try.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Dior Addict Ultra-Shine 2 - Shiniest Flirt 170
Audrey882 3/25/2010 9:59:00 PM
This product was terrible. Even though this sheer lip color felts soft and moisturizing when I first put it on, after about 20min my lips were dry and horribly chapped. Also, there was no shine left, just huge golden bits of sparkles! It gets worse though, when I accidentally licked the corner of my lip and had a taste of this stuff I nearly threw up. It tasted like crayon and slightly sweet lotion- I nearly threw up that moment, but even worse, the taste stayed in my mouth that whole day even after having a bagel and a frap!! I gave this to my best friend to test drive and she had the same experience so in a long over due action, I threw this junk out. I definitely recommend staying away from Dior's lip sticks (and lets face it, all their cosmetics) and saving that $50 for a product that's natural, moisturizing and better quality.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Dior Addict 2
Audrey882 3/25/2010 9:35:00 PM
This is my all time fav fragrance. Even though I just turned 19, I've tried almost every fragrance out there and none of them smell as soft, expensive, sweet, innocent and feminine as this one does. I've gotten compliments from my friends, teachers, and even strangers every time I'd wear it. Best of all, the smell is not over powering and mixes with your natural smell so even on my friends it smells like its been specially tailored just for them! The bottle is adorable and very easy to use, I never have to worry about loosing the lid or breaking it (as I have before). The size is perfect and fits in even the smallest clutch and of course you'll love pulling out it out in public because, my god, its cute! It is a bit expensive ($58 from sephora for 0.67oz) but you really do get what you pay for ; )

Styling Products -TiGi - Catwalk - Fashionista Spritz & Shine
Audrey882 3/25/2010 9:20:00 PM
This product was terrible! Although I applied the product evenly through my hair and in small amounts this spray left my hair sticky, tangled and later that day after washing i out, I still couldn't get all of this sticky stuff out! Even worse, the few sprinkles of product that accidentally touched my skin BURNED and left little pink spots!! To top it off, this product's smell was nauseating, it gave me headache and made me smell like most of their products do; melted plastic and sunscreen. I suppose that considering my previous experience with their sister brands, I shouldn't be surprised but still for $32, I can't help but be a little shocked. Terrible quality, expensive, and an unhonest company- I definitely wouldn't recommend this sticky, irritating junk to anyone, so save that money for something better.
