Skincare - Face -Biore - Makeup Removing Towelettes

This product is really harsh and left my skin red and irritated after several days (I used it once daily as a makeup remover before cleansing). I threw it away before I could finish using it up.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion For Face & Body, spf 60 PA+++
rated 1 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 5/8/2010 8:43:00 AM

I've been a faithful user of the SPF 55 version for 2 years. I have oily/acne prone skin, and the old version worked well for me. Unfortunately, this new SPF 60 version made me break out in places where I normally never break out within 2 weeks of using it. It also makes my skin more oily. I will be switching over to Sofina sunscreen now.

Lipstick -MAC - Brave Red - Cremesheen

I love this red lipstick! Admittedly, it's the first I've owned. I went to the MAC counter to try Russian Red, which had very high ratings. The SA offere this instead. Unfortunately, it looked almost orange and far too overpowering on my very pale skin. I then tried Ladybug, which was alright, but didn't make a statement (you could barely tell I had it on). I like Brave Red because it's a classy, yet noticeable, warm red.

Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Smooth Away hair removing pads

After I read the original comments on this product, I didn't think I would like it. But I hate shaving and get ingrown hairs from shaving, but can't do waxing because I'm on Accutane, so I decided to get it anyway from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It works well for me, even though I'm on low-dose Accutane and have sensitive skin from it. I use it while I talk on the phone :)

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Complex 15 Therapeutic Moisturizing Lotion
rated 5 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 5/28/2009 8:59:00 PM

I love this product! Prior to this, I had tried Clinique DDML, Cetaphil, Cerave, Oil of Olay, and numerous other brands, but they all exacerbated my acne and oiliness. I love how lightweight and non-greasy this is, yet it was moisturizing enough for me when I was on low-dose accutane.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Aquanil cleanser
rated 1 of 5

This product did not work for my oily, acne-prone skin. Despite the fact that I also used Fancle oil-based cleanser beforehand, I broke out from this cleanser, even while I was on Accutane. I am not sure whether I broke out because of one of the specific ingredients or because it did not cleanse anything off my face, but I would guess the later. I do not recommend it.

Eyeliner -Guerlain - Loose Kohl in Brun
rated 3 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 5/16/2009 1:01:00 PM

After much though, I purchased the Guerlain loose kohl in brun about a month ago. When I first got it, I loved the look (I had never lined my waterline before). Now, I have stopped wearing it daily and will wear only for special occasions. There are a few things that I wish I had known before I bought it. First, the brown is quite dark on me; it almost looks black. Second, it doesn't last all day, on me at least, so it's not practical for an everyday look for me. It tends to smear and rub off on the outside parts of my lower eyelid, but stays on toward the middle and inner part of the lower lid. Maybe it's just my eyes, but it looks weird to be walking around with a white spot on my outer lid when the inner lid is lined...

Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer in 1 Green
rated 1 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 4/26/2009 10:28:00 AM

I bought this product from Sephora after having tried many, many green primers/color correctors. While I liked that this product did not clump up into green balls or look noticeably green (as others have before), it was quite dark and made my skin look...sickly, or just "off." To be fair, it did tone down my redness a bit.

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - rose liquid castille soap
rated 2 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 4/11/2009 5:40:00 PM

I generally love Dr. Bronner's soaps--great lathering, have 18 different uses, etc., but I just can't stand the way the rose castille soap smells--I'm planning on trying lavender as soon as this runs out.

Cleansers -Sebamed - Liquid Face and Body Wash
rated 1 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 4/11/2009 5:39:00 PM

I just had the worst allergic reaction to this product than I have had in several years. Upon using it to wash my face at night, my skin started burning and turned red, and it has stayed red for the past few days! To be honest, I was surprised because (1) I don't often have allergic reactions to products, especially cleansers, which stay on the face for a short period of time, and (2) this formulation is especially for sensitive skin. I still haven't figured out what I was allergic too, but perhaps the fact that it is acidic (pH=5.5) is a possibility. I would not recommend this product.

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaSlicks in #576A Rose Gold
rated 5 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 2/24/2009 4:08:00 PM

Great color for me (pale redhead, warm coloring). It's a bronzy, pinkish with a bit of shimmer and shine. I wouldn't apply too much at once for a daytime look.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaLiner Liquid Eyeliner Dark Brown
rated 5 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 2/24/2009 4:06:00 PM

I bought this eye liner because of good reviews from MUA, and I decided on dark brown because I'm a PPP redhead, and dramatic colors don't look good on me. I love the price ($3), the easy application, and how it looks, but just to let you know the dark brown really does look like black, so I will be trying a lighter color instead and restricting this to a night-time look.

Eyeliner -Sue Devitt - Eye Intensifier in Tanzania

I love this color--warm bronze--it looks great on PPP redheads with warm coloring like me. Perfect if you want a unique color without a very made-up look.

Treatments (Eye) -Fancl - Fancl Eye Serum
rated 1 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 2/22/2009 6:04:00 PM

I didn't have unrealistic expectations of this eye serum; I just wanted something to moisturize and prevent dry flakes around my eyes. This didn't do so, and didn't have any other effects. I gave it away.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Vitamin E Intensive Therapy Cream
rated 2 of 5
Auburnsarcasm 2/22/2009 6:00:00 PM

This product is quite moisturizing and smells pleasant but not strongly so. It also lasts a long time (has lasted me about 2 months on my arms and legs every day, and I'm not done with it). However, I will not repurchase due to the fact that its moisturizing properties are from mineral oil, and I'd prefer to use a plant-based oil.
