This is a beautiful new shade of metallic grey (silver). I put on two coats and the polish dried fairly quickly. I went out and got soo many compliments on my nail color. It is super chic and a must have. This was way cheaper than Chanel, an looked so much better. Go out and get it!!
Cleansers -Olay - Total Effects 7-in1 Anti-Aging Cream Cleanser
AtlantaGal 3/27/2008 4:20:00 PM
This is Olay's cream cleanser for the (7 in 1 anti-aging line). The cleanser comes in a tube, and almost looks and feels like lotion when you squeeze it out of the tube. Immediately after I washed it off, my skin felt extremely soft and moisturized. My one problem with this was when I went to dry my wet face on my towel, I had a little bit of makeup rub off. I find this dissapointing, as the only thing I had on was powder. For a cleanser I expect it to get all the makeup (not including eyemakeup...i have an eyemakeup remover for that) off without having to use another product like a makeup removing wipe. I would expect a cleanser to cleanse the makeup off!! I'm a bit dissapointed, but I will continue to use and see if I get better results. I am amazed at how soft this made my skin...so I'm going to give it another chance.
I bought L'oreal infallible lipgloss because I was looking for a long wearing lipgloss that I didn't need to reapply every 1 hour! Walgreens was having a BOGOF sale, so I bought two colors: Rebel Red and Sangria. The gloss had better than normal longevity. I was able to drink coffee without it coming off. After eating lunch, I did have to reapply because the color had faded...I still had gloss on my lips, but the color didn't look too great, so I reapplied. The Rebel Red is a gorgeous blue based red. After 30 mins it turned slightly reddish-pink on my lips, but the color is still gorgeous. I am not one to wear red lipstick or dark gloss, but I'm so glad I tried this! Sangria is a pinkish-mauve with gold specs. The color is beautiful. The only problem I have with this line is that I had gloss on my teeth on multiple occassions, so I had to keep checking to make sure I didn't have anything on my teeth. It was difficult to rub the gloss off of my teeth once it was on. That is the only drawback. But for less than $5 each (on sale), I would recommend trying it out!
After hearing about all the buzz on MAC's limited edition Fafi collection, I headed to the MAC counter on a mission for Fafi paintpots which looked beautiful! Cash Flow is a beautiful light/dirty gold. It goes on very smoothly and looked gorgeous on my dark brown eyes. I don't have any other paintpot of a similar color, so it was worth buying for me. I'm sure I will be using it a lot more in spring/summer time as this would be a gorgeous color to wear alone or under shimmery eyeshadows. Staying power is just like the other paintpots......great as a base for eyeshadow/pigment, color does not fade (even after several hours!), but does crease after a few hours.
I have a love-hate relationship with long-lasting lip color duos. I bought the L'Oreal infallible lip duo in Terra-Cotta (220), and I must say, the color looks gorgeous when I'm wearing it! It really brightens my face without looking like I'm wearing a lot of lip color. I used this in the morning as I was getting ready for work. I made sure I had no chapstick on before putting it on, and I let dry for 3 mins. I put the top coat on, and left the house. I was expecting to get flakes all over my lips and teeth within a couple of hours, as this has happened everytime I used a long-wearing lip product. Much to my surprise, I got very little flaking, and the color DID NOT budge, even after eating a big lunch and some snacking throughout the day. I was shocked! I was really expecting the color to fade and come off in flakes throughout the day, but I only had a minor amount of flakes. I came back home almost 11 hours later, and it was still on!! This has become a new favorite of mine just because of the color, but I just hate the fact that it is drying, especially if you don't reapply the top coat throughout the day.
I first discovered paint pots when I was looking for an eye look for a wedding I was attending. The MA at the counter showed me how to use the Paint Pot along with eyeshadow to create a look that would last for hours. Needless to say, my affair with Paint Pots began, and I haven't looked back since then! I was searching for a neutral paint pot that didn't have any shimmer to use under my MAC pigments and shimmery shadows. I saw the other reviews for Groundwork on MUA, and headed to my MAC counter. The MA highly recommended Groundwork, and although it looked a tad bit dark (as a neutral base)for my NW25 skin, I decided to give it a try. I got home and tried it on, and I must say the color blended extremely well! It gave my eyelids a very neutral wash, that provided the perfect base I was looking for!! I have been using Groundwork a lot these days, because it seems to work with everything!! I should say that if you are looking for a great neutral base you must give this a try. If you are looking for more color, I would suggest passing. I will definitely repurchase when this runs out, but it will be in a long time, because there is soo much product and you only have to use a little each time!
Palettes -MAC - Curiositease: 5 Warm Pigments and Glitter
AtlantaGal 12/10/2007 1:22:00 PM
I was a bit hesitant on purchasing this, because it just looked too much like glitter in tiny bottles (too high-schoolish!), but I am so glad I did. The colors are absolutely gorgeous, not too sparkly, but just enough to be ok to wear in the day. Coverage is buildable, so you can add more depending on how much you want to wear. All of the colors in the warm set reflect gold sparkle; absolutely gorgeous and a must have because the colors are so useful. These can be used as eyeshadows, highlighters/bronzer, or gloss (just mix a bit into clear gloss, and voila, you have gloss). The good thing about these, is it seems like they will last a long time......you just need a tiny bit each time you use it. If these weren't limited edition, I would definitely repurchase!! Go out and buy this set.
Palettes -MAC - Curiositease: 5 Cool Pigments and Glitter

I was a bit hesitant on purchasing this, because it just looked too much like glitter in tiny bottles (too high-schoolish!), but I am so glad I did. The colors are absolutely gorgeous, not too sparkly, but just enough to be ok to wear in the day. I am wearing the light and dark blue to work today, and everyone is complementing me on how great my eyes look. I hardly ever wear blue eyeshadow, but these colors are soo flattering on my brown eyes. Coverage is buildable, so you can add more product depending on how much you want to wear. All of the colors in the cool set reflect blue sparkle; absolutely gorgeous and a must have because the colors are so useful. These can be used as eyeshadows, highlighters/bronzer, or gloss (just mix a bit into clear gloss, and voila, you have gloss). The good thing about these, is it seems like they will last a long time......you just need a tiny bit each time you use it. If these weren't limited edition, I would definitely repurchase. Go out and buy this set. I bought both the warm and cool set, so I would have the whole range of colors and I don't regret my desicion at all. These colors are absolutely worth it!!!! I'm a MAC pigment fan now :)
Lipstick -MAC - Holiday 2007 Viva Glamorous: Cool Lips
AtlantaGal 11/12/2007 12:36:00 PM
The previous reviewer did a great job on the colors of this palette. I just want to add that I got this palette last week, and it has quickly become one of my favorites--the colors are absolutely beautiful, and having all three in one palette, you can mix and match to any shade you feel like wearing. I keep this in my purse, and it comes in so handy.....no need to bring a bag full of lipsticks or gloss, just toss this palette in and you are set. The packaging is pretty, but not something to buy the palette for. I'm definitely going to repurchase the colors separately once this palette runs out!
Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Mascara Base [DISCONTINUED]
AtlantaGal 10/16/2007 1:54:00 PM
This leaves my lashes soooooo incredibly defined and long. I got so many compliments the day I started using it. I love this stuff----and I use it with cheap L'Oreal mascara. The only thing I don't like is that it takes forever to remove. I will definitely repurchase.
I bought this eye cream on a whim after reading an article in InStyle magazine about the raves of this cream. The first night I used the cream, I didn't notice much of a difference. I used the cream once in the morning and once in the evening; after about a week, my eyes looked worse than before! As an avid user of Burt's Bees Attar of Rose Serum, the Ole Henrikson cream didn't really work for me. I'm in my mid 20's and have combination skin. Since I'm out $45, I plan on using Ole Henrikson during the day, and using Burt's Bees at night. I will not repurchase.
Hair Styling Tools -Revlon - Perfect Heat Professional 3-4 inch curling iron
AtlantaGal 2/16/2006 4:51:00 PM
This curling iron is wonderful!!! I have wavy hair, but I use this after I straighten my hair to get that 'straight on top, curls at bottom' look that is in these days. It works wonderfully, and the curls last all day long. The iron takes less than a minute to heat-up, and is easy to use once you get the hang of it. For the price (I paid $11 @ Target), it is a refreshing (and inexpensive!) way to update your hair on any day. Would definitely recommend and repurchase!
The color was absolutely perfect, but my face looked like an oil slick after only 1 hour (I have combination skin--oily in the t-zone). I also noticed I was breaking out with whiteheads because of this makeup, and it settled into any lines after a few hours. It did an ok job of covering spots/breakouts, but it doesn't do any miracles. I wouldn't buy this product again for myself, but for someone who doesn't have a problem with shine might have better luck.
Hair Styling Tools -Farouk CHI - Chi Ceramic Flat Iron by Farouk
AtlantaGal 11/30/2004 2:05:00 PM
I bought the CHI after reading all of the wonderful reviews on MUA. This iron is absolutely AMAZING!!! My hair is thick and wavy (not beautifully curly--mostly frizzy wavy), and I would spend about an hour trying to straighten my hair with a round brush and blow dryer. I spent some money on a ConAir flat iron, which was a big waste of money as it did nothing the CHI does. Every time I use the CHI, my hair comes out perfectly straight and looks something out of a Pantene commercial. I get so many compliments on my hair the days that I use the CHI; and I used to think that other people wouldn't be able to tell my hair looks that much better. This is a must-buy and is worth the extra money. I just hope that mine doesn't break.
Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
AtlantaGal 4/28/2004 11:22:00 AM
This was my first ever lipstick, and it has been a favorite of mine ever since. I wouldn't really call this a 'lipstick' because it comes on so light (and comes off fast too), but it gives the right amount of color if you don't want to look too done up. It looks very natural, and gives a bit of shine too. Definitely a must for those no-makeup days!
