Concealers -Sephora - Smoothing & Brightening

I've been using this concealer specifically for my undereyes for almost a week now and all I can say is that this product is so and so, The makeup artist who helped me out suggested I give the shade Medium 07 a try, which I did and I actually liked the results on my undereyes. My eyes didn't seem so dark and puffy after being up and working for almost 9 hours and it actually makes me look more wide awake than anything else. So I ended up purchasing the product in hopes that when I apply it myself, it'll actually do me some good. The only con I have about this product is that by mid day when looking at my undereyes, the concealer seemed to look a bit flaky which then settles into lines and instantly there was a tinge of disappointment as that's a big no for me. Will I be repurchasing again, Unfortunately not... for the price of $18.99 I'll probably switch back to Clinique's airbrush concealer. I know I got good results on that one, so I'll definitely be switching back to that brand once I finish this product.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Plushglass - Posh It Up
rated 4 of 5
Asymetry 1/18/2013 10:04:00 AM

This is the very first lipgloss product I purchased from MAC. I was looking for a nude gloss and for some reason the makeup artist assisting me led me to this one...I was skeptic at first because as you could see, the color looks nothing at all like a nude lip color but I decided to give it a try, when applying the plushglass on my lips, the color actually does look nude on me (I'm an NC42 btw) with a hint of shimmer, which I liked. I found that my lips started tingling after and the makeup artist told me that it's actually a lip plumping product . Hahaha plus there's a smell of vanilla on it. I LIKE!!!! This plush glass won me over instantly. The only CON I had was that for the price of $23.63 I wish it came with more gloss. The plushglass I got was in a tiny little tube. So I'll probably just be wearing this from time to time and not all the time. Will I repurchase, Yes! :) I'm now addicted to this color, Posh it up! It'll be perfect for Spring and Summer!!! :)

Lip Liners -Unlisted Brand - No bleeding lips lip liner
rated 4 of 5
Asymetry 1/18/2013 12:35:00 AM

This silicone based lip liner is actually exclusive to Shoppers Drugmart. I decided to try this product after watching 2 reviews on youtube. No bleeding lips is a clear lip liner that actually prevents your lip gloss or lip stick from feathering or bleeding. I'm actually testing this product at the moment with my MAC cremesheen lipgloss. To use the product, All i have to do is trace the lip liner around the outside of my lips. Lol you read that right, i trace the outside of my lips to create that invisible barrier and then i applied my lipgloss. My verdict...Wow!!! This thing actually works. It's like lip liner insurance. Lol I'm actually not experiencing any smearing or feathering in the outercorners of my lips which i usually get when wearing the gloss alone. This product actually works and cost me $15.74 including tax. I think this product would work great for people who want to wear a bold colored lipstick or lipgloss without having to worry about having smeared clown looking lips by the end of the night. The only Con i have on this product is that it's non retractable, so be careful when twisting the product, use only what you need or it'll all go to waste. Now that i've tried this product, i'll be sporting the bold red lips from time to time with confidence knowing that it wont be feathering or smearing around my lips when using this bad boy. :)

Asymetry 1/17/2013 12:39:00 PM

This is the first cremesheen lipgloss I bought from MAC, and my verdict... I'm in love with it. I was looking for a coral color that will actually compliment my skintone (which is an NC42) It has a peachy nude hue that actually makes my lips look fuller.I've gotten so many compliments using this product that it's actually a head turner. Love, Love, Love it!!! :)

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 5 of 5
Asymetry 1/16/2013 4:44:00 PM

The hype is actually true. I'm now a convert to this UDPP ! The price is steep, but a little goes a long way. My eyeshadow lasts way longer when combined with this product. The tube I purchased has no applicator, it's actually a squeeze tube so a little goes a long way. I applied my eyeshadow around 0630 in the morning and it's still on my lids without so much as a smudge in the middle of the afternoon. No signs of oily lids or creasing. This primer actually covers everything, so I couldn't be happier. Thank you Urban Decay, you've now gained yourselves a loyal follower! :)

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
rated 5 of 5
Asymetry 1/15/2013 11:15:00 PM

I've been using this product for over a week now, and my verdict on this product is that it's actually really good! The brush and formula of this mascara produces no clumps even after 3 coats. I'm currently using the waterproof version and so far I'm loving it. I actually think it gives more length than volume. Oh well...I still like it anyway. Will I be repurchasing again? Yes, Definitely. I think this is one of the best drugstore mascaras out there. :)

Eye Primer -BeneFit Cosmetics - Stay Don't Stray
rated 2 of 5
Asymetry 1/15/2013 12:59:00 AM

I got this as a free sample from my loose button subscription. I'm actually still using it at the moment. My verdict...The product seems a bit watery for my liking. there are times when it stings my eyelids and times when it doesn't. My eyeshadow and eyeliner application goes on a bit smoother as promised but the guarantee of having no eyeshadow creases wasn't there. After a few hours, my eyelids were obviously oily and the eyeshadow creases were evident. Good thing I got this as a free sample just because I'd be disappointed spending around $30 on this product. Benefit's products are usually a hit or miss for me, and this was definitely a miss. I can only compare it to smashbox's photo lid primer and I'd rather go for smashbox's than this.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Dior Addict Ultra Gloss 856 Little Red Dress
rated 5 of 5
Asymetry 1/15/2013 12:42:00 AM

First Dior Makeup product I've purchased. I was looking for a shade of red that would actually compliment my olive skin tone and the lipsticks and glosses from other brands didn't look right on me. I was about to give up until the lady at the dior counter decided to help me out. I tried it and fell in love with it. The gloss is highly pigmented and gives me that glossy cherry red color I was looking for. It was a splurge for me but the quality is way better (in my opinion) than the lancome juicytubes. The product also comes with a tiny brush that makes application easy. Will I repurchase? OUI OUI!!!! I love it!!! I'd llike to try their pinks and nudes as well. :)

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Studio Endless Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palette
rated 3 of 5
Asymetry 1/15/2013 12:20:00 AM

I bought this at Winners here in Canada. I actually like it for my everyday eyeshadow. It's affordable and the quality isn't too bad...It's not as pigmented as I want it to be, but it'll do. for around $12.00 you can't go wrong. I usually go for the nudes and browns as I'm not that daring to experiment with the other fancy colors. Like I said, the eyeshadows aren't highly pigmented and a bit too powdery for my liking. I use an eyeshadow primer with it so that it lasts a bit longer. I tried it without the primer once and it didn't last long on my lids. This product is good because I get to experiment with a few different looks just because it has a huge variety of colors and it's really affordable. The only Cons I had was that you'll need to layer the eyeshadow to get the desired pigment as the product isn't highly pigmented, and make sure to use a shadow primer so it lasts longer. i don't think I'll be repurchasing this once it's done just because it has no staying power and the consistency of the powder isn't working for me.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Nisim FAST Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Asymetry 1/14/2013 11:56:00 PM

Bought this product as it was recommended by my hairstylist. All I can say is that it actually does help your hair grow faster. I've cut my hair really short (Pixie cut), started using the Shampoo and Conditioner around late September and now my hair is actually touching my chin. It looks like a bob now. Mind you, I had cut my hair really short around November 2011 but visit my stylist every 6-8 weeks so I don't end up with a mullet or one of those awkward stages where my hair just loses it's shape when growing it out. The Shampoo and Conditioner contains Biotin which helps promote longer and thicker hair but minus the bad acne. The product is a good alternative to taking biotin capsules, which when ingested makes me breakout like a teenager. The product is pricey as you can only get this at certain hair salons, but you get what you pay for. I paid around $25.00 for the small combo pack, which lasted me around 4 months, I've repurchased a bigger bottle of this product and will be using it until I get the desired length of my hair back. Another plus side is that the product smells good as well. One last thing, I recommend this product to people with their natural hair color. It's not for those who dye or highlight their hair on a regular basis. The product contains sulfites which actually fades the color of your hair if it's dyed.

Eyeliner -Stila - Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
Asymetry 1/14/2013 11:43:00 PM

Tried this eyeliner in both black and white. My verdict... it's my HG for eyeliners because it stays true to it's name, it actually stays all day! :) The only bad thing about this product is that it's really expensive $28.00 at Sephora and the product dries up quick. It only lasted me around 3 months before I had to repurchase. That's the only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars. Will I repurchase? Yes! It's a bit of a splurge but you know what...It's really worth it. The eyeliner goes on really dark for the black one and the precision tip makes it easy to do the perfect cat eyes and thin lines for an everyday look.

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - LineBlast 24 Hour Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5
Asymetry 1/14/2013 1:16:00 AM

Bought this after losing my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. It's a really affordable price but the quality isn't as great as the Tattoo liner I bought from Sephora. What I like about it though is how tiny it is and that it's a felt tip pen. The Cons: I had to shake it a lot of times to get the right amount of ink to come out when lining my eyes and the formula doesn't stay as long as the advertisements claim it to be. I had some dark smudges on the corners of my eye by the afternoon. mind you, I've got oily lids, so that could be one of the reasons why the product doesn't work for me. I'll probably be using this as an emergency eyeliner for my makeup kit...will i be repurchasing? Nope. I'll stick to Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner or Stila's "Stay-All day" eyeliner at least for those two brands I know I'm getting bang for my buck. :)

Eyeliner -Eyeko - Skinny Liquid Eyeliner - Black
rated 2 of 5
Asymetry 1/13/2013 11:57:00 PM

Got the Skinny Liquid Eyeliner Pen as a full-sized free sample, thanks to my loosebutton subscription. Anyway, This liquid pen is so and so for an eyeliner pen. The staying power is okay, but not as good as Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner or Stila's Stay All day Liner. It's supposed to last long but I apparently started getting smudges on my undereyes and the sides of my eyes by the end of the afternoon. I've got oily eyelids so this was a disappointment for me. I received this eyeliner in black, the color isn't as black as I want it to be and the pen tip is a bit fat compared to Stila's and Kat Von D's eyeliner pens. I got a lot of use from it for around 2 1/2 months until it started to dry out on me and the pen tip kind of lost its precision tip. So my verdict on this product...If you're thinking of buying this from Sephora, I suggest you spend the extra $5 to $10 and go for either Stila or Kat Von D. I'm glad I got this as a free sample just because I knew if I paid money for this, I'd be returning it and exchanging it for a different brand.

Eyeliner -Kat Von D - Tattoo Liner
rated 4 of 5
Asymetry 1/13/2013 11:16:00 PM

Just bought this eyeliner a week ago after losing my first one a few months back. I tried using a drugstore version but couldn't compare it's quality and lasting power to this baby. Hence, I had to bite the bullet and just spend the extra $23 to repurchase this product at Sephora. Do I regret spending that much cash for an eyeliner? Not at all! I was glad I bought it again because the quality of this product is amazing! The liner pen is comparable to Stila's "Stay All day eye liner". The precision of the tip goes on so smoothly and I've had no problems drawing my cat eyes or thin to medium lines. The only con i have is that the staying power isn't as great as Stila's. Yes, It lasts long but my eyelids get oily after a few hours, so a bit of smudging and the wing of my eyeliner gets distorted by the end of the day. That's the only reason I gave this product 4 lippies. I hope they would tweak the formula a bit to make it similar to Stila's.

Mascara -Eyeko - Skinny Brush Mascara (Long &Tall)
rated 1 of 5
Asymetry 1/12/2013 3:57:00 PM

Got this mascara as one of the free samples I received inside my loosebutton luxbox. I so wanted to love this product but sadly I don't. The mascara wand in this product is thin and shaped weird. When applying it the product produces a lot of clumps. The formula is great! It's smudge proof and it doesn't flake. It gives my short lashes length and volume. 2nd Pro about this mascara was the packaging. It's a squeeze tube...so nothing goes to waste... The only problem I really had with this product is the brush (Such a turn off). I also tried searching youtube videos on how to apply this mascara properly, and all the tips and techniques still gave me clumped up lashes. My verdict...this mascara is a bummer! Lol I'd recommend this product to anyone looking for the tarantula/spider legs eye look which i personally think is pretty gross!!! Sorry, Eyeko!but I'd rather be spending my money on some way better drugstore mascaras.
