I purchased the Idealist Skin Refinisher and the Thermal Polish this summer hoping to find the perfect regimen for my dull Senstive/Oily skin. Well at first the Skin Refinisher was working quite well and I was overall content with it- it seemed to make my skin softer and my pores seemed to be shrinking in size. But once I started combining it with the Thermal Polish I started noticing these little bumps underneath the top layer of my skin. (I really noticed them in my dim bathroom lighting... they looked like the models "zits" in those Proactive ads.) And I thought what the heck!? So I started squeezing the little bumps and little black-head cores started to pop out. So obvsiously my pores were getting more and more clogged and the "refinishing" was making my skin worse. So just today after fighting breakouts all along my hair/jaw lines and my outter cheek area I decided to find my order form and send the products back to EL online. I ordered the Advanced Night Repair Pro. Rec. Complex and I'm hoping that will be my ideal night serum and I won't have to search any longer! *Fingers crossed*

Lip Gloss -MAC - Pink Lemonade
rated 4 of 5

Okay so I just jumped on the MAC lip glass band wagon- actually after reading so many great reviews on here about this particular kind of lip gloss- and I am very impressed! I gave this particular color a 4 bc it just doesn't look that good with my complexion... I ordered it from Nordstrom (& pd $8 for shipp/handling!) and the sales person told me it would compliment my fair complexion bc it had gold undertones... Not exactly! Unfortunately it's a little bit to 80's pink for me. I think it would look great on someone with a nice tan- but I just don't think it compliments my skin tone at all. So I'm returning it to get Oyster Girl bc that's really what I was looking for- a sheer, shimmery pink that would accent my lip color; not change it. (I orginally ordered that color from Nordstrom but the sales lady talked me out of it for P.L.!) Overall though I am a little unsatisfied with the size of the tube but honestly girls after paying $30 for a Dior Addict lip gloss I'll gladly pay $14! (If you go to the MAC website, they'll give you free s&h right now thru the 31st!) So if you are a huge lip gloss fan like I am- you'll love this product! Just make sure to try the color out at the counter- if you order from the website know what colors will go well with your skin tone!

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Sheer Lipsticks
rated 1 of 5

I recently ordered a Dior Lipstick from Sephora after seeing it advertised on Charlese Theron in my People Style Watch Mag. I thought the nude color looked wonderful on her, yet like most ads, I'm sure she was touched up a little with an airbrush. (I am a huge lipstick fan and I can't say enough about Lancome's Le Rouge Absolu products.) So when I got this Dior lipstick in the mail, I thought I would be pleasently surprised bc Dior is such an ultra exclusive brand... NOT. Not only did this lipstick make my normally moisturized lips very uncomfortable, the color looked aweful on my face! I looked like I just got done eating an orange pop-sicle. Plus the texture was almost gritty and I knew it would not last more than a few minutes. For $27 I would definitely recommend going to the Lancome counter and picking up a good product- like Coquette in the Le Rouge Absolu line! Just say no to Dior!

Lips -Lancome - Le Rouge Absolu - Dulce

Le Rouge Absolu Lipstick by Lancome is the most awesome lipstick that I have ever experienced. I am a huge beauty supply fan and to my husband's dismay am always looking out for the best and most worthwhile products. I have tried numerous lipsticks: Estee Lauder, Chanel, Dior, Clinique ext... and this brand is by far the most long-lasting, non-irritating, and best in my book. I have numerous colors but I would have to say the one color that looks the best with my complexion and hair color is Coquette. It's a pretty-shimmery pink color with beautiful gold undertones. It really looks great with tanned skin- but works with fair just as well. It also works well with a dramatic eye- because it emphasizes the lips but doesn't distract from the rest of your face. And best of all unlike the Dior lipstick I just returned; it does not leave a nasty taste in my mouth! Plus, it's pretty moisturizing so my lips stay pretty supple and don't get flaky. I would definitely recommend this product to all you other beauty supply junkies! :)
