Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Lipslicks Smoochies lip balm
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 5/1/2013 9:30:00 AM

New from CG, didn't see it coming! They unveiled a new makeover for their cult classic Lipslicks line - With much wider color range (opaques - red, brown, pinks & shimmery shades - pinks, mauve, pink/nude) - I lost count! The packaging is the same shape/design, but they are duo-colored and eye-catching (playful, and also fun names). My review is on shade 280-Bye. It is a more opaque brown - A beautiful shade of brown!! It is not flat, muddy, boring - It is very pretty, sophisticated and looks good regardless if you're dressing up or down. It is a more neutral tone brown - Shimmer is barely there to none - very good. It is so hard to find a beautiful brown that works on all skin tones, that's not frosty, that is just a go-to perfect color! For those of you who fell in love with the discontined Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in "Cocoa" you'll be pleased to know this is a very close dupe. However, while it is (regrettably) not 100% organic and it is less of a brick red brown [not cool/not warm] and it doesn't have a peppermint tingle, it has a faint "chocolate" (?) scent/taste and the color is just perfect. I think for now I will stick to this gorgeous shade, as it satisfies my lippie quest. It feels very good on, very comfortable and it is classic CG lipslicks, for those of you who love to re-apply :)

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Hydrogen Peroxide
rated 1 of 5
Artbum 4/6/2013 12:11:00 PM

This review is for HAIR use of Hydrogen Peroxide (not healing): NO! NO! NO! Please I urge anyone with fine, soft hair NOT to use hydrogen peroxide as a cheap, alternative to salon highlights (lightening hair color). On a whim, I did just this in December 2011 and my hair's still reeling from extensive damage to the point of ugly, brassiness that is 100% resistant to neutral darkening hardcore color (to obliterate the damage done); do not be fooled! Your hair will turn Orange, not "sun-kissed". After many haircuts, this color is still on my tips, and grosses me out. Short of shaving my hair off completely, I patiently wait for it to be gone for good. It pays to pay more money to get good quality for your hair; use this product for cuts and as a mouthwash, not hair color (easily very regrettable & totally irreversible)

Lipstick -NYX - Round lipstick Galaxy 560
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 4/5/2013 6:13:00 PM

I had to add a real photo of Galaxy, b/c the original does not do this l/s shade justice! This is my color, looks Über frosty in the tube but applied more sparingly it is a wild shimmery mauve/plum hybrid color. For reference, I have light olive (yellow undertones) skin that tans easily and naturally purplish pink lips - Yellow & Purple are complementary colors - This is gorgeous! Matte and flat opaque colors look boring on me, even at work, as I often dress classic/contemporary/solid colors - All the Ultas I shop at barely stock Galaxy and next time I see it I'm snagging more tubes :D

Lips -Vaseline - Vaseline
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 4/5/2013 8:38:00 AM

BEST EVER CUTICLE MOISTURIZER! For the past few nights, i've been rubbing in ample amounts of Vaseline onto my nail cuticle, in a circular motion, deeply penetrating the skin and nailbeds. My cuticles and nails have never been more pretty, moisturized and polished! Even during the day, after many handwashings and abuse, my cuticles are still pretty & my nails are noticeably stronger - NICE!!

Polishes -Orly - Opal Hope
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 3/5/2013 9:37:00 AM

I agree with georgiasweety: Orly makes better quality polishes than OPI. Quality of formula is easier to apply, dries faster and lasts much longer. This color is very unusual, and more duochromatic than peachy depending on the angle and lighting. It is a nice color for warmer months, and as a top coat for corals and warm-tone pinks

Blush -Clinique - Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher '01 New Clover'
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 2/28/2013 12:52:00 PM

this is HG blusher. My 1st Clinique blush (in GWP) and it is HG for me! Prior to this, used to toggle between Prescriptives and Covergirl's Cheekers. The former was discontinued, and while CG Cheekers is cheap and it lasts, the microshimmer is not very attractive for daywear imo. That's why "New Clover" is perfect - No shimmer, and beautfiul. Period. I lightly dab a finger in water and add a tiny bit (water) to the compact (color), smear on my cheek and rub in lightly - It applies evenly and the wear time is LONG. Color is natural, what I have been searching for. Perfect product all-around

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Nourishing Lip Balm with Mango Butter
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 2/20/2013 7:24:00 AM

This is the only balm (lippie) that is quenching my parched lips during this dry, windy winter. The regular BB balm never moisturized my lips, but the Nourishing formula is amazing. It is a must-have in my makeup bag, and is under all my other lippies now

Conditioner -Alberto Vo5 - Silky Experiences - Shea Cashmere Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 1/26/2013 4:42:00 PM

I started the CG method about 3 wks ago, & I love the co-wash system. This very cheap very lovely conditioner is silicone-free and amazing. My fine curly hair bounces with shine, volume and softness - No dirty waxy post-wash feeling or look. After co-washing with this, I can either scrunch for curls or comb "straight" --Both air-dry-- and my hair is shiny and perfect. I bought this for a 1.00 at the Dollar Tree!! That is unbeatable

Lips -Nivea - A Kiss Of Shine Natural Glossy Lip Care
rated 3 of 5
Artbum 12/28/2012 1:21:00 PM

Blueplastic's description of this product's scent/smell made me laugh!!! The scent is particularly unpleasant; my first thought at its notes is "grapefruit", some kind of citrus note, however it's not a crisp clean fragrance. I don't like it, and it's the top reason I would be inclined not to repurchase this product. Otherwise, the formula is nice (not too slippery and oily, and not too sticky/thick). It is nice over more matte lip colors. Note to NIVEA: Please bring NIVEA Beaute to the USA. It'd be well-received here in the USA where we buy lipsticks like candy~*~*~

Lips -Nivea - A Kiss of Milk and Honey
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 12/14/2012 9:49:00 AM

Score! This is an Overall Rating of a **Million**. I finally found the ONE lippie that (alone or under/over color) that DOES NOT make my lips peel, crack, bleed! - It soothed my broken skin, healed them instantly (seriously, overnight success) and I'm floored it is less than $30. I've paid much for Kiehl's, Aquaphor, Badger, Korres, Laura Mercier, Tarte, Fresh, you name it - And Nivea crossed the finish line first. I love the texture, it's creamy not cakey, and it melts into your lips and the creamy texture does not evaporate like others. It melts and sinks in your lips to make them soft, and it helps to naturally exfoliate your lips. Heaven in a tube and I can find it ANYWHERE. I also love the packaging, it is very European sleek design. The scent is subtle, it reminds me of Swiss Alps in the springtime. :)

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm
rated 4 of 5
Artbum 12/9/2012 10:10:00 PM

Marsen's review was right on the money. I was surprised to see this new CG lip product, and decided on #270 on a whim. Lately I've been disappointed in many lippies, as my lips are incessantly peeling, cracking. I'm determined to find the right colored lippie that does not wreck my lips. This instantly felt soothing on my lips; smooth, creamy and the scent is super subtle, I can't peg it but it's not floral, sweet, perfume-y - I really like it. I agree, it's superior to Clinique's Chubby stick, in formula and pigmentation. The formula feels more moisturizing and the color is not as sheer as the Chubby stick. I pray this one's a winner (no peeling), I know it will be for a lot of women - It's an awesome drugstore lip product, ~*~*

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Megaslicks in Strawberry Ice
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 12/4/2012 7:11:00 AM

This is the ONLY lip product that does not chap, dry out my lips and make them peel, crack, bleed - And it's less than 2.00 - Unbelievable. I've spent so much money on lippies from brands such as Tarte, Laura Mercier, Origins, Alba, the list goes on......but this cheap thrill instantly moisturizes my lips, makes them soft and a light layer is alot - Not too much for daytime .. It melts into my lips and leaves a subtle shimmer, nothing obnoxious. I *Wish* WnW would expand the color selection in the Megaslicks l/g line to include opaque colors that are more natural, too - brown, tan, true rose, creamy colors ................Formula is perfect .

Lipstick -Revlon - Color Stay Ultimate Suede Lipstick
rated 1 of 5
Artbum 11/15/2012 1:31:00 PM

I just saw this new lip product today and bought "Cruise Collection", a vibrant coral with a hint of medium pink. I love the color, it instantly brightens my face but I feel the formula is too matte, and not "silky" or "smooth" enough...After several minutes of application, the feelings is slightly tacky and dry. I will wear this for 24+ hrs, including bedtime, to test-drive it for its moisturizing benefits. I refuse to wear lip balm under or over my color lippies. What's the point? Unfortunately some of the best products come in the ugliest packaging (Wet n' Wild, NYC) - But I really want to love this product. I'm keeping the receipt in case my lips start peeling/bleeding b/c of the product's ingredients. I will Edit my post after a few days to provide an update.. EDIT 17Nov2012: I had to return this product to the store, sadly. The renewed concept of Revlon Colorstay l/s was great, but as a comeback the formula IS VERY long-lasting, however it is exceptionally drying to the point of chapping and painful peeling. For women with sensitive (skin) lips that are prone to chapping in general, I suggest avoiding this product. It will tear your lips apart in a bad way. I have to return to glosses, and Revlon's Colorburst l/g is the only one that is truly emollient.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 11/11/2012 9:16:00 PM

Wow, this is the very best DS lip gloss on the market right now! I didn't have the highest hopes, and was beginning to give up - Nothing was a happy medium - To find the l/g this is truly moisturizing, has a subtle to non-scent, is not goopy - And comes in pretty, sophisticated packaging - For the past 2 wks I've been using Revlon SL lip gloss which I really wanted to love, but after nonstop use, it left my lips peeling to the point of bleeding, even with Aquaphor. . .Yesterday, I bought this New Maybelline l/g in "One Shine Day", have used it in the last 24+ hrs and my lips are so soft!!! Even when the color begins to slowly fade; my lips do not feel parched. This color is a neutral medium pink that instantly brightens my fair yellow-undertone skin; it'd look great on any skin color/tone! The formula is very comfortable to wear, not sticky, slippery or "gritty" feeling; the scent has the signature Maybelline "honey nectar" scent, but it fades very fast; packaging is classy, with no logo or sticky residue left behind. This l/g is absolutely a gem- I paid $5.50 for it at Walmart, can't beat that -

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Visibly Bright Daily Facial Cleaner
rated 5 of 5
Artbum 10/8/2012 8:59:00 AM

Wow, I love this cleanser! It is oil-free, which I need/want bc I'm in my late 30s; I rarely experience breakouts now, compared to my 20s; while I don't want benzoyl peroxide or salicyclic acid in a cleanser, I prefer oil-free + antioxidant or vitamins in it. In 2 washes, I noticed a dramatic positive difference in my complexion; the tone's more even, clearer, and "visibly bright" -- I can do without the fragrance, it's a little strong but wears off quickly. This cleanser is non-drying but doesn't leave a greasy feeling (residue). I hope Neutrogena keeps this product!
