Something went wrong here. I ripped a sniff sample out of a magazine and instantly fell in love. It was just the right mix of dry woods, vanilla and musk with an ethereal airiness that one doesn't often come across. Then I went to the mall and sprayed it on my skin. What is that, wet diaper? Ugh. Too bad. I so wanted a bottle of this.
Love this one! I recently purchased a sample of the edt & the edp and I find the edp to be far superior in formulation. It is smokier and a more rich, leathery vanilla. The edt has too much of an Old Spice vibe for my liking. It is too special to be reached for daily, but it definitely has a permanent place on my vanity.
Unlike Love's Baby Soft and others, I don't get pure baby powder from this. I can easily detect the almond and rose notes, as well as the vanilla. It is not as musky as I had hoped. It's slightly aldehydic and VERY strong and sweet. It's a nice fragrance, and different from all the synthetic, boring, mainstream fuity-floral 'sweet' scents out there, but it's definitely not my thing.
Mac Lustre lipsticks have always been my favorite. They go on smooth, creamy and a tad sheer with a moderately glossy finish. High Tea is a slightly frosty, coppery-nude pink that looks gorgeous on tanned skin, and if you're not a fan of its warmth, you can always tone it down with a bit of concealer before applying. Looks great paired with dramatic, smoky eyes. Will repurchase.
Fragrances -Viktor & Rolf - Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb

More like a sugarbomb than a flowerbomb. The very existence of this fragrance is pointless because it smells exactly like the millions of other boring, ultra-sweet fragrances out there. Given the name, I expected to detect at least a little floral, but all I get from this is cotton candy and a bit of musk. This is being marketed to young people as the next D&G Light Blue or something. I'm not impressed with either.
Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Acqua di Gio (for women)

I think I've found my new signature warm weather fragrance! Acqua di Gio is dubbed as being an aquatic scent, but I happen to think it's slightly more earthy than aquatic. It reminds me of the lovely,cucumbery- vetiver fragrance on a rumbling summer day in the moments before a thunderstorm. It's fresh without smelling like clean laundry or carpet cleaner. The mint and pink pepper invigorate while the floral notes are soft rather than obnoxious. This fragrance is simple, yet beautiful, and I hope I'll never be without it!
I detected black cherry (only subtly), honey (LOTS of honey) and a dirty, unused cigarette immediately after first spray. Pipe Tobacco? I don't think so. The Tobacco note in Back to Black is not nearly as rich or resinous. The dry down wore as a sort of tea-like black cherry amber on my skin that almost pleasantly reminded me of cherry coke, but was ruined by the ciggy tobacco note lingering as a sort of dirty, green chypre instead of the rich, spicy patchouli I expected. Overall, this turned out to be a disappointing fragrance for me as I've lately been seraching high and low for a 'darker' scent. I guess I shouldn't be too disappointed, however, as this stuff is insanely expensive for how goofy and misleading it is.
This is my go-to concealer. It covers well for those who need minimal coverage, and the formula is very creamy and blendable, (slightly watery). If you normally prefer thicker concealers like Amazing Concealer, then this probably won't meet your needs. I will repurchase.
Better than Mac's, but I hate the packaging! It comes in a wide variety of shades and I generally mix two as most of them fall under the limited spectrum of being either very pink or very yellow based. The bottle is an absolute pain in the butt and I always have to shake it aggressively to get the stuff out. and when it does come out, it pours...GRRRR!!!! It's very messy. The coverage, however, is nice, and it imparts a dewy, semi-matte finish. I do like to use this on my body in summer, (usually in a bronzey shade), and mix it with my body lotion..WAY more natural looking than self tanner on me! I will repurchase, I just wish it came with a pump like their HD foundation.
Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Metallic Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Antique Gold

I have both Antique Gold and Mercury. I love the colors but the product itself goes on very dry and is difficult to blend. I almost always have to warm the jar with a heating pad or my blow dryer just to get the product out and I generally don't like doing that. These would be fantastic if they were the same consistency as Stila's smudge pots. Unfortunately, they're not, so I'm unsure if I'll repurchase. Probably won't.
After Smashbox discontinued my HG blush/highlighter, Soft Glow a few years ago, (which I am still VERY P'Oed about), I was determined to find another shade of soft lights that worked for me and buy it in bulk quantities before Smashbox got a wild hair up their butts and decided to discontinue it too. Needless to say, I was immediately drawn to Prism but was put off by the color as it initially seemed a very bright, ballerina pink in the pan, quite similar to BB's pale pink blush which looks horrendous on me. A swatch on my hand proved differently. It is a soft, I wanna say "hot-pinkish" rosy color w/ a bit of shimmer. I often dust a layer over my Nars Deep Throat to balance out the warmth of the shade and it is truly gorgeous together. I still don't like it as much as Glow, which really brightened my face and could be worn on its own, but I definitely won't be tossing this one anytime soon.
Nice texture, awful product. It didn't remove enough makeup, (I still had tons of it on my toner pad), and it left my skin a dry, flaky, itchy mess. I think I could get better results from a bar of soap.
Pure powder & sandalwood here. To me, this smells almost exactly like Estee Lauder's Sensuous, or should I say, Sensuous smells almost exactly like it. IMO, this would smell best on a more "mature" woman, like my mother who has long adopted it as her signature scent. It's not at all unpleasant, but very strong and very powdery, as is Sensuous. I honestly can't see it working for anyone under 30. At least it lacks that god-awful musky, skunk funk its older sister Shalimar is astonishingly famous for. If it didn't, I'd have to politely tell Mommy to have lunch every Thursday with someone else.
Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Ravishing Love Refreshing Body Mist

Oh my, this stuff is heavenly! I was reluctant to try it at first because I've never been a fan of VS fragrances as they usually smell way too cheap and girly to me. But I strolled into VS yesterday determined to take advantage of their 6 for $30 sale and bought ought the entire line. I detect soft citrus and floral notes with a heady whiff of blackberry mellowed by vanilla and subtle sandalwood. It smells "yummy" without being foody, which is rare. I can see myself wearing this stuff year-round, although I think it can be best described as a late spring/summer fragrance suited for evening. The best part is, my husband absolutely adores it and it doesn't irritate his allergies or give him a searing headache like most fragrances do.
Smells like bottled glam. The only downside is that everybody and their mother's cousin's best friend's step-sister's daughter wears this stuff. I smell it somewhere literally every time I go out. Particularly on all of the other salesgirls that I work around. I never have to ask them what they're wearing because I already know what it is..Chanel Chance; a feminine, sexy floral fragrance that I won't be wearing anytime soon because it's what everyone else is wearing.
