What happened to all the good reviews? Is MUA going nuts? Anyway, the truthful reviews are found in the 'Coty' brand range, don't ask why. Here is my initial review on there: I bought this on December 2008. It came in with the Big princess Perfume,Mini Princess Perfume,Body lotion and Bath lotion. The packaging is really GREAT. It is a pity i couldn't actually keep the box, since i bought it in the U.K and didn't have room for it in my luggage. But anyway The cardboard used for the packaging is super cute, hard, resistant and very smooth and can be used to store secret stuffs ;) The perfume itself smells WONDERFUL! I am even afraid of finishing it >] That's why i only use it for occasions and not when going to school. The price is affordable but not cheap. But i would definitely recommend this perfume for those who like Sweet but not too sweet perfumes. I found that the scent accorded to my character perfectly. And last but not least, the scent on your skin LASTS for HOURS if not days. EDIT: My boyfriend says that he is ADDICTED to this perfume and that its like a drug for him and he loves smelling it on me?!! EDIT 04/11/11: I was so afraid of finishing it that my boyfriend bought a new one for me :D But i didn't finish my 2008 perfume one. No, I will never be able to finish a fragrance, and this is the truth; i will never be able to bear the *pain* of seeing an empty, gorgeous bottle on my vanity coiffeuse. The colour of the fragrance changed, became darker, lost the purple colour and turned into a rather vintage-y colour, which i LOVE and which doesn't AT all change the scent at all. My love for ever.
Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
ArBell 11/4/2011 2:29:00 PM
I use olive oil for 3 concepts: 1. Obviously cooking and gastronomc purposes; 2. Cleaning my makeup brushes [works like a charm for stripping all the colour off your brushes, as well as conditioning them! But be careful to wash them very throughoutly with shampoo after that, because i find olive oil very heavy; and last but not least 3. To remove the makeup off my face!! More specifically my eye makeup. I don't enjoy putting oil all over my face, since i have an oily-skin type, but it works really well to get all the colours off my eyes, but it does cause a somewhat blurry eye effect, but it's all right because it is all natural! Try it ladies, and a little really goes a long way for the eye make up removing, it might even save you a LOT [if you are a usual Lancome Effacils customer ;)]
If there had to be a perfume, where Elegance would be re-incarnated into a bottled-perfume, it is Coco Mademoiselle. Don't get me wrong, even though I believe that Elegance is a status achieved with experience, i also believe that a spritz of Coco Mademoiselle could call upon a placid, youth personality, all the elegance she could dream of. I am 18, and a spritz of Coco Mademoiselle brings me the ressonance of 'Grimaldi', one of the most eloquent, respected and admired family of all times. Of course a perfume wouldn't suffice in making someone elegant, but it really gives out the impression. The scent seems to develop and merge with my body alchemy, it starts with a shrill, a deep, frilly shrill of flowers -i am not expert enough to describe to you which flowers- and then as the hours drift by, and as i continue to get sniffs of the Elegance i am irradiating, i realise the not-very-powdery, but still a little bit, and a softer reminiscence of the original shrill. While wearing this, i imagine myself walking on a bed of cotton flowers, no, rather floating on them, with 4 inch stilletos[not 5 inches because that wouldn't be considered elegant, but more 'allumeuse' as the French would say], and wearing a French trenchcoat, with a very little dentelle or transparent plastic umbrella, with a very very drizzling rain falling, but not at all touching my embodiment, i feel indestructible and confident, but still elegant and sensible. I feel warm and cool, joy. The Chanel attitude.
I got this eyeliner through a swap, and i'm so glad i did! It glides on super smoothly and is actually the best non-liquid eyeliner i have owned uptil now! The color is very dark and not dull at all, no grey/ash if you as me [these tones make my complexion very dull] but it might be a warm black, but still pitch black, if this does make any sense? Staying power a 7.5/10 for a night out clubbing! I relied on it so much that i actually lost it one night when i went clubbing and now i'll be forever mourning this loss because the cosmetics product range sold in my country is very limited [this included - so it's not available here] :( A great value for your money if you ask me!
"Euphoria" is the right name for this fragrance. A very subtle hint of metal, more of a somehow mysterious scent behind the softly sweet and magnetic perfume. Staying power is awesome: more than 8 hours. That's what i wear to go clubbing, or on a night out, cause i know that i'll still smell like this, all fresh and subtly sweet but mysterious even if i spent the night in a closed box with smoke and alcohol.
Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation
ArBell 12/3/2009 1:42:00 PM
EDIT 04.11.11 This product doesn't even worth an edit. I threw the entire product in the bin, the powder, as well as the brush, AND the super fragile plastic crap cap. This product is definitely NOT worth the money or skin break out :( I even think that some of the breakouts i got from using this product account for some of the scars i have nowadays. I huge deception. Original post: BUT SERIOUSLY!!! This product, along with the CRAPPIEST brush i've ever used or seen, gave me a serious rash!! It like scrapped the skin off my face and left me with a crimson face with loads of dry patches, clog pores and gigantic zits coming up! I've NEVER had this with any product before. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE. Not even to my enemy, well maybe i will, but hey! Don't waste your money on that.
Masks -Unlisted Brand - Egg White Mask for Acne Skin
ArBell 11/22/2009 3:55:00 PM
KristaniA said it all! I should add that egg white/yolk also whitens your skin tone :)
THIS PRODUCT IS REALLY DIRT CHEAP. Let me begin with a little story... Like some of you, i became aware of the actual 'existence' of the aspirin mask, in proper form, from a youtube GURU, MichellePhan. At first, i was like, WTH, why is she applying chemicals on her skin??? Then i understood why, and it so triggered me that i came over on MUA and looked for 'Aspirin Mask' and i was really surprised to see how many people knew about it and i had never heard of it! [well, i do loads and loads of research on health/fitness/beauty/cosmetics] So i decided to try it out, i went to the drug store and bought a box of aspirin and omg i was so surprised at how cheap those are! [we use panadol instead of aspirin here] So that night itself, i decided to try it out, i mixed it with honey and used it. I waited 15 min before removing it, using circular methods. And god, how my skin felt soft! I do see a slight difference, my skin became more radient after starting to use Aspirin mask, but not a MAJOR difference, since i do kinda have a nice skin to start with :) I use this mask once a week, or at least once a month, when i actually have the time for that. What's annoying is that you have to dilute the aspirin with water before mixing it with honey, or else it won't dissolve; which makes the substance really liquidy and runny, which is fussy to apply on your face and wait for 15 whole minutes without it running down your throat... Also, Aspirin makes your skin more vulnerable to UV rays, which is why people who use this mask should really consider wearing sunscreen everyday, if not, at least when they go in the sun!
Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller
ArBell 11/16/2009 5:54:00 AM
Straight forward: This doesn't work for me. The price... I'm a teenager and still in school, do not work and live on a basic pocket money. So this is definitely a NO. Waste of money and seems like only water coming out of it. It accentuates my undereyes because i really have sensitive skin. The packaging looks really cheap, plastic, and the labeling fell off, and something inside the roll on broke. Duh, anybody out there who is interested in buying this, DON'T!
EDIT 04/11/11 I am increasing my rating from a 3 to a 3.8 I learned to know that it wasn't the primer that made my face oily, but rather that it is my skin type that is like so. And I obviously did not know what was the feeling of petroleum jelly on my face[not a very good feeling if you as me, as an oily-skin tennant] It does help to make my makeup last longer, and also seems to boost my confidence [you oily-ladies/sorry for the expression, would know what i mean] as i feel reassured that my makeup won't literally melt off my face. But i still stay adament on the fact that it is over-priced, yet again, all primers are, right? Besides the ELF one, which i haven't tried yet. Anyway, it really is not value for money [Smashbox] When I apply it on my face, i feel a somewhat whipped satin texture/silicone, that i spread on my face and that sits on my pores, or gets aspired by my pores, which help in the process of applying my foundation, to a certain extent. I usually let the primer 'sink in' for 10 mintues before applying my liquid foundation, and i find that the process is quite smoother than without primer. All in all, it is quite a good product, i would definitely use it as an HG, if it were 1/2 of the price it is right now. Original post: I don't see the hype about this. Yes it is a primer, a base for your foundation makeup, but it makes my face oily and i don't see much difference on my skin with this on. It is true that it makes your makeup stay on much longer but i think that it is too expensive for what it actually does. But sure, a little goes a long way, but it feels like petroleum jelly on my face seriously, and my skin isn't oily. It does give a nice glow to your skin after a few hours you've had your makeup on. The packaging [ i have it in sample size ] is really cute. I've got this from a swap from MUA and won't purchase it on my own.
EDIT 04/11/11 After a few months [more like a year-i know, spare me the critiques, i know that you are supposed to throw away your makeup, but I love my MAC and since it is not available in my country, i won't throw that away yet] i found that it dried out, pretty badly, and of course it is a common end result. BUT instead of throwing that out, please go on youtube and look for tutorials on how to revive your gel liner. You only need a silicone-based primer [i used smashbox] and an oven! It works as a charm now, and applies ever so smoothly! Original review: I got that from a swapper on MUA And i'm TOTALLY in love with it! Even though i'd like it to be a little bit of a darker brown. IT is superbe. Staying Power: 9/10 With smudges after 4-6 hours, depending on what you do. I wear that to school, so that might probably explain why i have to reapply =] But otherwise, i simply love it! And the cute little packaging is well, so cute? And don't worry about the amount of product in it, a little REALLY goes a long way! :)
OKAY, so GOOD thing i got that as a gift. BUT UGH!! I DON'T understand why this is still on the market!! Especially from a brand like Maybelline, i had expected MUCH MORE from this mascara [as being Maybelline] and have been REALLY REALLY disappointed. This does NOTHING to my lashes. It is TOO WET and it makes my lashes drop REALLY down!! no matter how curled it was before. This mascara is useless. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THAT! :)
Skincare - Face -Clean & Clear - Exfoliating Daily Wash
ArBell 9/20/2009 8:31:00 AM
LOVE LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! IT gently eliminates oil on your face. Goes on smooth. Feels REALLY GREAT after you washed it off. Skin is very VERY soft. What i don't like is the scent. And the packaging; the product itself is kind of liquidy and runs, so you have to turn it face up so that you can close it without the product running into and off the lid.
Cleansers -Clean & Clear - exfoliating daily wash, oil-free

EDIT: Lowering the rating to a 4 star. This product is TOO soft, i don't feel like it removes everything. It used to be awesome when i wasn't wearing makeup, so i'd recommend it to normal->combination skin and to people who don't need much exfoliating.
Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Veet In-Shower Hair Removal Cream
ArBell 9/20/2009 8:26:00 AM
Okayy; Nice scent/fragrance Takes more than 5 min before hair actually starts to 'remove' Too much time needed to apply smoothly, evenly Easy to rinse Messy [i would suggest you apply that in your shower/bath tube] Did not remove all hair D: Hair started to grow in like 2-3 days. Better than razor but not worth it.
