Polishes -Essie - Mint Candy Apple
AokiJ 1/29/2010 10:09:00 PM
beautiful polish by essie, im no stranger to essie so i am going to start by reviewing it by colour, Its a mint creamy green colour. looks a bit like what you would get in a mint chocolate chip sundae or a mint icecream. a synthetic looking colour, but its very pleasant, i do give props to essie for naming it mint candy apple because it is a true to life minty colour, what you would expect if you was putting milk and mint in a blender together. its very pretty. would suit all skin tones! pale - tan - medium -dark whatever your shade, its going to look nice :) Love essie polishes due to their easy mixability (you can easily spread it on the nail without clumps or mistakes). i also like it for the fact application is a breeze because of its easy to handle brush. lovely colour for spring. girls if your thinking of getting this now. do it! because its been sold out for a lot of unfortunate people. i'll give it a 4, because its a beautiful shade, dewy application but it loses a mark because of mistakes that could be made when applying (its fast drying)

Polishes -China Glaze - Golden Meringue
AokiJ 1/29/2010 10:01:00 PM
I got this polish in sally's on a special discount thinking that this will be fab just like opi and essie is, is a goldy colour, looked more peachy nude in the pot with sparkles so was quite unsure of the colour at first, i don't mind golds as i have OPI CURRY UP DON'T BE LATE. so i got this regardless. paid for it took it home and noticed the bottle wasn't full to the top. i was totally shocked because it almost seemed somebody had used it before but of course hadn't because this is new product on the shelves. its A 18ml polish so i did not complain. i heard from someone else that their china glaze also seemed less full. so that's ok, the colour is quite sheer as disappointing. opis polishes even sheer seem to have more colour depth. so on my application, i noticed that it was quite a sticky and gloopy polish. unlike my essie which is a milky and very easily mixed polish, and opi which is also quite milky in texture but has more durability. i was unsure of this polish but it was not a clumpy polish so have to give it props for that. but i probably wont be repurchasing. its a very 'tacky' polish. what i mean by that is if you use two coats of this it starts to tack up and is very disorientating. Thanks but no thanks. i'll give it a 3 due to the fact its a ok quality product if you want to rush out and go shopping wearing it. nothing for a formal event. girls if you are unsure. give it a miss. essie is a lot milkier and easier to apply

Lip Gloss -Clarins - Colour Quench Lip Balm
AokiJ 1/23/2010 5:37:00 PM
So at first i saw the shades available in the clarins department store, i loved the color of orange so later on brought The mandarin lip balm without trying it. i dont often do that so it was a quick thinking, i was expecting some colour depth but got some to none...it is quite depressing because i like the colour, the scent smells of sweets and it is not sticky and quite moisturising, although the moisture doesn't last for long, its still a great purchase because you get a lot for your money and you do not have to be a fan of colour to wear it! so you can wear it on all occasion the price was expensive, but you can expect that!, clarins has always been such a high quality brand of excellence, so if you wont like it im sure your friends will :-) 4/5 overall! not overly keen on the scent it can be overpowering sometimes but very bearable normally :)

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Creme
AokiJ 1/18/2010 9:22:00 PM
An original and still amazing! really soothes and sorts out my skin when it feel rough or a bit dry i use it as a night cream, i have not broke out with nivea and i have been using nivea since i was 11, its really as affective as any anti aging moisturising cream, you can get the anti aging cream with the Q10 but im young, i don't need to start that drastically yet!. Lovely, the scent is very homely once you get used to it you remember growing up :-)! i would be peeling for days due to a benzoyl peroxide treatment on my stress 'spots' and this would thoroughly hydrates my skin along with my Avalon organics vitamin c cleanser & toner, lovely cream! if you have not tried it what have you been waiting for? its a very very cheap cream available to most people and is the best out there !!

Toners -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Balancing Facial Toner
AokiJ 1/18/2010 9:14:00 PM
Fab! This toner is great! SO the Smell is Orangey just like the rest of the product line, the toners consistancy is just like water, and it is so soothing to the face you would not believe it!, before i used these products i has some pre menstral spots that i wanted to get rid of, so i used peroxide benzoyl, my skin was peeling like crazy and every time i went to lightly moisturise it felt for 5 seconds like my face was on fire. but when i started to use the vitamin c line i could not feel any burning and no bad sensations. so was very impressed with that, regardless of my benzoyl peroxide i used this straight after my skin returned to normal and my skin was becoming softer and softer just after using the toner on its on. even after working out or on equiptment, it picked up so much dirt which was confusing for me because i washed my face an hour before. it shows you that it works! a clarins toner would only pick up dirt if i hadnt washed my face in a day or was sweaty! so this is defininitely keeping in my collection, i'll buy again! quite expensive but you get what you pay for and more with this line. Amazing. Recommend to you all ladies!, makes you feel special and its also a vegan product, with no animal products or parabens what have you got to lose? :D

Skincare - Face -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Moisture Plus Lotion w/ SPF 15
AokiJ 1/18/2010 9:04:00 PM
Unfortunately this product is not for everyone, but for me, It has proved to be a great moisture product when you need a extra 'boost'. i have the toner, moisture plus and cleanser, so if you want to check out my reviews! the whole line is absolutely fab Firstly, its quite a small looking product (from the outside), probably would prefer if it was in a glass pot but garnier do something that's like this, but is for anti aging and its greasy like a butter greased bowl. Anyway, This product worked for me like a charm, love the scent sometimes it can be a bit to orangey if you've used the whole routine in a day. it is a thicker cream and is meant for those hotter days when your skin is prone to more UV rays, If you do have chronic acne i recommend it to 65% of you. It is a thick cream, but it is not greasy, it may feel like it but its because of the natural sunscreen in it. its something you can use of a night-time because of its lovely satin feel to the skin. i only recommend a large pea size or maybe a tad more to use on your skin. I love this product because it is very soothing so its not going to irritate your face, you can also use it below the eyes Love it, and would purchase again

Cleansers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Facial Cleanser
AokiJ 1/18/2010 8:53:00 PM
Wow! what can i say?? so i have been after this product for a while. Its not that widely available worldwide and was tempted to buy from overseas, instead i waited. and TADAH! i have the cleanser, toner and moisturiser with spf. I tried this on my birthday in the shower, i had a lovely long shower and used 2 pea sizes of the cleanser on my face and neck. And the first thing i noticed was the lovely soothing satsuma orange fragrance, its not over powering its just lovely and refreshing! the second thing i noticed is that it lathers up straight away like a dream! making your face feel like a fluffy marshmallow! God i love this stuff! i think i'd be lost if avalon discontinued this :(! i have skin that is combination and get premenstrual and hormonal spots especially from stress, but The vitamin c line did not break me out, or make my spots worse! So i definitely recommend this to anybody who has combination skin or skin that doesn't know whither its coming or going. The ingredient list just puts a smile to my face, it has lots of essential vitamins, white tea, green tea and lovely lavender, camomile, essential oils and more! i could go on for ages about the vast natural ingredients but i wont!. This is a healthy product for somebody who is aware of the nasty ingredients in commercial facial products. ive seen a good difference in my skin. just a bit before i was using a bit of peroxide benzoyl gel so my skin was peeling a lot! but using these products have helped calm my skin right down and after the peeling using the product has been making my skin feel so much more softer and radiant! Amazing line, amazing brand. Would continue buying even though it is quite expensive if something is worth it it is worth it Plus, clarins costs more and i have a lot of their toners, but this beats clarins :) Get this girls!!! im ordering you lol!~~

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor
AokiJ 1/11/2010 7:55:00 PM
So the colorstay lipcolor line appealed to me from its huge statement that it is a product which stays on semi permanently, yes it does. Not a lot of people know how to use this product properly and can seem to resort to extreme measures in order to take it of. Olive oil and eye make up gel removal takes it off like a breeze, so just to help you gals out! The colour is deep, but looks better with a coloured gloss to compliment it. i wouldn't wear it on its own to be honest with you! its a nice formula but i recommend people to exfoliate their lips to remove tough skin before using a product of this nature. Try it on the back of your hand first, Take a look at the colour, and it works even better without the clear gloss. just swap it for your favourite gloss. I have it in a red, its a daring colour and probably wouldn't wear it all of the time. but its nice Just nice. i give it a 2/5 for its 'niceness' and its semi permanent ability, its smooth and rich, but can really make your lips look old if you don't put some gloss over the top ;) Its still a good product but i probably wont be buying any time soon yep

Mascara -Revlon - DoubleTwist
AokiJ 1/11/2010 7:36:00 PM
Revlon's new double twist mascara packs a punch! After seeing the lovely advert with jessica alba on it, i was truthfully persuaded by it to buy one! I Gave it a go at boots on a special offer. The original price was something like £9? and it was on special offer for £6.99 as a promotional measure. I didnt like the packaging, but im not the type of person to fuss about what's around it. if its good inside, its okay with me. So the mascara's wand is a bit to big for its holder, I wish they made the mascara more elongated and less chunky, so the wand can easily slip out and slip in, but the actual mascara its self I like!, The natural black colour is like a coal black, Not extremely intense, but a natural dark black that looks more natural than fake. I have always been a l'oreal, Shiseido and No7 girl for mascara but i can now say i am a Revlon convert, The first application was the most noticeable, i instantly had longer natural looking lashes and the best of all is that i did not get that annoying mark of mascara from applying, (what you get when your rushing lol). my lashes were separated at the first stroke and lengthened, The wand literally brushed out my lashes and they feel well cared for lol!. The result is very natural and it enhances and brings out the best for any eyes, especially smaller eyes because it noticeably looks totally different, Its not clumpy, or lumpy comes out so finely you wont be able to tell your wearing it throughout the day Overal, Its a brilliant mascara, it still smells a little like mascaras do. chemically, But doesn't smell it when its on. and I wouldn't mind if i brought another one. #to the other reviewers that rated negatively, i think you may have got a bad batch! i'm serious! 4/5 its not a miracle product, but it sure comes close! EDIT: This is madness from all the bad and negative reviews it has got!, i assume a quarter of them have not even brought the mascara!. Im not sure why people are complaining about it. Its a amazing mascara, its the best i have got (not even lying). If you want to purchase this to try it out. don't listen to the reviews, that don't even give a reason why they think its a bad product, I like it and and alot more do to, Try it out! Its great

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lip Gloss (general)
AokiJ 1/11/2010 7:15:00 PM
Super lustrous lipgloss appealed to me from the vast colours available, They have reds, plums, pinks, corals, nudes and everything in between. I only have one colour as this was to try the line out before i buy all of them basically ( :P) So i got the limited edition colour called get ready. looks a deep red with a gold hue in the packaging. after looking at it on the lips and a bit more it is more like a deep pink with red and plum hues. Out of the pack, You can smell the aroma from the formula. its a chemical smell which i assume to be hidden by another chemical that smells like burnt sugar, Its not pleasent, but its something people can deal with including me because after applying you cannot smell it anymore. but you really must have a good sence of smell to smell it in the first place. the colour is 4/5 on pigmentation, The formula is non sticky, but slightly more thicker than water based lip glosses and feels 'moist' on the lips. I do recommend this for the woman on the go that wants to look classy, classic and not overly made up! you can just wear it alone with a balm. Looks really stunning on its own. I do like to top it on with Revlon overtime lipstick. the colour from both is phenomenal and very suitable for a formal evening. I'm yet to try any other, but i now know what it feels like on so i will buying others. It may not be to everybodies taste if you do not like alot of colour. although the colours do not appear extreme. theres not many of the browns and tans that so many women seem to wear because they are afraid of colour. I recommend if you want to use and try out this lipgloss buy one before. do not buy 5 or more colours first. I'll give it 4/5 because i wish it was more watery on lips and less moist and more juicy? also the smell was not nice. i would suggest anyone who likes the smell (taste) of their lip glosses should try another one. This doesn't smell of fruits or florals like i thought it would have! There's lots of chemicals in it but overall its very nice!

Lipstick -Avon - Ultra Color Rich Mousse Lipstick
AokiJ 10/20/2009 5:02:00 PM
First thing i've got to say about this lipstick, is that it is super Moisturising, The colour is blendable, and the shades are very flattering too, I only own one in Apricot nude, i believe this shade has been discontinued, as they brought them in with spf 15. They are all the same product, just with different spf. Its a great Shade, Its a real perky pink. looks great on fair skin. and looks like a nudey pink on tan, olive skin, I wouldn't recommend wearing this lipstick without lip balm, as it needs a smooth base to start on so the colour can blend evenly. It has a scent. i dont know if alot of people like that. but apricot nude smells of fresh strawberries, peaches and cream YUM YUM!!! The price is cheap, the quality is good and the moisturising formula is very soft and smooth to your lips. not lumpy I also recommend anybody wearing this lipstick. to give your lips a good scrub with a handmade sugar scrub. to get rid of all they chapped bits of skin. so the lipstick makes your lips look baby soft :) Give this one a chance, if you look moisturising lipsticks, its not for everybody though i must admit.

Lipstick -Avon - Ultra Color Rich 24K Gold lipstick
AokiJ 10/20/2009 4:11:00 PM
What can i say about this lipstick, Well...Lets start with the colours available, There are various Shades in this 24k collection, There's 10 Available to be exact, Many shades i have not tried so far, but one i have which is 24K pink, Its a highly pigmented Peachy bright pink shade, It can go on as sheer or as pigmented as you like, because its a very versatile shade. Its very beautiful, I highly recommend This shade if you have not tried the 24k collection yet, as its a shade most people aren't afraid of, and it goes with basically anything, It has tiny flecks of gold which i assume its the 'real gold' they were advertising. Its not too much as such. But is a great companion to the juicy pink shade. The Colorstay doesn't stay as long as the other avon lipsticks i have. but i assume its because it is so moist and is different to the other collections (with the flecks of gold), I am defiantly going to keep buying this great lipstick, and the other great lipsticks i have brought from avon. Please don't knock it until you try it! I really do prefer this lipstick by avon, And NO7 lipstick's To MAC/ESTEE LAUDER and GOSH. As they tend to stay pigmented for longer. and is way way more moisturising. And for the price? who doesn't like it? Avon Really have amazing quality lipsticks, if you unsure of trying avon products, take my word for it, I used to use MAC estee lauder and gosh, now i wont go back to them you can get the same quality and better with a much better price!

Fragrances -Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune
AokiJ 9/2/2009 2:38:00 PM
Absolutely Beautiful Fragrance, picked this up duty free at an airport on my way to Denmark, the price was very cheap. In pounds about £17 but this was 40% off and duty free, so very very good price. I cannot describe the scent, its very Fruity Fresh and crisp, too fruity and fresh for maybe a formal night date, but never the less. it still smells absolutely beautiful! and you can wear it anywhere you like without it being 'overpowering'. After a warm shower, spray this baby on. and you feel like a new woman, revitalises you more than the shower did. The scent lasts for ages actually, when i first picked it up i thought it wouldn't last long on my skin. but it lasts a good 2-3-4 hour, plus as it wears off, it hints off a light floral fragrance, just a hint. and keeps you smelling fresh for ages, a tip too (hours after spraying on the neck and you feel the scent evaporating, rub your neck again, and it should hint more fragrance. ) I also tested the cherry blossom at the duty free, and really didn't like the scent much. as soon as i tried pamplelune i knew i had to have it!. plus it was cheaper than the cherry blossom. for some reason :// The beautiful perfume bottle is stunning. leave it around the house, or in your bedroom. gives it a more posh art Deco look. like other perfume bottles cant :). Other than that It's SUPER ZESTY, lemony, grapefruit and orangey with hints of a light floral or maybe hibiscus?, I cant really describe the scent more as its just absolutely divine. you need to have this girls. Its a great pick me up scent. that will last!!

Lipstick -Boots - No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick
AokiJ 7/14/2009 10:05:00 AM
WOW, this lipstick is the bomb!. I brought the moisture drench lipstick in shade starshell, A Beautiful coral peachy nude pink, I really dislike lipsticks, but i try to buy some to see if i can convert myself from balms and glosses. And well, this has converted me. I am a huge fan of this lippie, because it does what its suppose to do, Give high pigment colour and moisture without drying out the lips, The Case, Is beautiful! sophisticated! but that is what one suspects for no7 products. The colour lasts for hours, but the moistness doesn't. But it still doesn't dry out the lips, Fills in my 'lip cracks' which are rather unattractive especially as most lipsticks just make them look more hideous. i don't wear lip liner, because i could easily go over board, and i really don't like it, but still. this lipstick evens out my lips with colour, doesn't smudge, and its very hard to make a mistake too! Love this Lipstick, and i am defiantly a no7 fan for lipstick too now!. The price is around 9.50 excluding special offers, It seriously beats MAC, the quality is unbeatable. sorry mac :)

Powder -Stila - Illuminating Powder Foundation
AokiJ 6/24/2009 2:39:00 PM
Brilliant product By Stila, Quality is Fab!, & it really is illuminating, its not false advertisement!. Covers my blemishes instantly with a dash of this foundation after my concealer!, no need to brush it in forever like most powder foundations, doesn't make my face look chalky or over done! Gives me a Nicole Richie, bohemian look, chose a shade darker than my skin, but it really blends, and brightens up. it may look dull in the packaging, but when its on! wow its wonderful!!!! if you don't buy this, you would probably regret it!! my first product from stila, and im going to buy more!
