Treatments -Origins - Dr Weil Plantidote Mega Mushroom Face Serum
Annuta 8/20/2009 9:21:00 AM
My skin is normal and very fair, with some mild redness on the cheeks, nose and forehead. I did not use the entire Plantidote skincare line, just this serum. My toner and moisturizer are from Chanel. I did not buy the full-sized product - the samples I was given lasted me for a month of regular use. I applied this serum twice a day, morning and evening, after cleansing and toning. I liked that it goes on smoothly and absorbs very quickly. Very little product is needed per application. For the first two weeks of use, I was exceedingly happy as it took down the redness in my cheeks about 20%. After that time, however, it had no effect on redness. I am happy to say that these results seem to be permanent, as I went back to my regular Chanel Beaute Initiale serum a little over a year ago and the redness did not reappear. I will not repurchase this product again as I prefer the Chanel serum - it leaves my skin more supple, radiant and hydrated. If the Plantitode Face Serum continued to tone down my redness, I would definitely repurchase.
My skin is normal and very fair, with some mild redness on the cheeks, nose and forehead. I have been using this product religiously, morning and evening, for a bit over a month and am quite content with the results I am seeing so far. I began to see slight reduction in redness after about two weeks of use. After five weeks, I would say that redness has been toned down by about 50-60%, which is a very significant improvement. I now look like I have healthy pink tones in my complexion, though I wouldn't mind toning them down another 10-20%. The improvement I have experienced so far, however, makes a big difference and I am very happy with the results. I apply this gel after cleansing and toning my skin. I let it absorb for about 30 seconds before applying serum and moisturizer. Because the packaging makes it impossible to see how much product is left, I bought a backup already as not to be without. After five weeks of continuous use, there is still product left. A little definitely goes a long way - I apply a half-pea sized amount to each cheek and forehead. I have experimented with larger amounts of gel and have not seen any difference. So far, DDF Redness Relief Gel and Dr. Weil Plantidote Mega Mushroom Face Serum are the only two products that have had an impact on reducing redness for me.
Moisturizers -Shiseido - The Skincare Night Moisture Recharge Enriched
Annuta 7/20/2007 3:26:00 AM
I very much wanted to like this product, since I got a full size bottle as a gift, however, it did not deliver. I agree with another reviewer who mentioned that this lotion is sticky - it is! No matter how little I use, I always wake up with a sticky face. It probably moisturizes fine, but it's difficult to tell under all the stickiness. My skin does not feel smooth, nor does it look refreshed when I wake up after using this lotion. The only positive thing I have to say about this lotion is that it has a nice, soft smell. I will be using this on my decolete, but certainly not on my face.
Eye Shadow -Shiseido - The Makeup Silky Eye Shadow Quad 8 Ocean Shimmer, Summer 2007
Annuta 6/12/2007 12:55:00 AM
I like this quad very much. This is my first eyeshadow purchase from Shiseido in at least 7 years, and I must say, the quality of their eyeshadow has greatly improved. The texture is smooth, easy to blend and the shadow didn't crease after a day's wear. The colors are well-pigmented with buildable color concentration. Basically, you can go from rather sheer to bold with adding just a few more layers. The colors are very cute, but not very unique. The three shimmery ones are light peridot green, baby blue and light plum. The black is a cream with slight blue shimmer - very pretty, but you can't really see the shimmer when used as an eyeliner. If used as an eyeshadow, you can tell that *some* shimmer is there when the sun hits it just right. Pairing the black with one of the other colors gives very pretty results, as one of the reviewers pointed out; definitely more of a dramatic evening look. I am very happy with the product in every way, which is why I gave it a 5 point rating. However, I won't repurchase this because the colors are just not unique enough. Once I bought this, I discovered that the baby blue is just like any other baby blue, which I have plenty of in my collection. The plum is an ordinary plum, which I also happen to have. The light peridot is the only color I didn't already have. So, before you buy this, check your stash - you may already have all the colors.
Lip Gloss -Yves Saint Laurent - Golden Gloss 5 - Copper
Annuta 5/31/2007 1:11:00 AM
I LOVE THIS GLOSS!!! Ok, now that I got that out of my system, on my pigmented lips this gloss deposits quite a bit of pigment - almost like a liquid lipstick, it's amazing! On me, the color is a deep orangy coral with lots of golden shine. I am so happy to finally find a coral that doesn't turn pink on me. Furthermore, with this gloss, I'm able to color a tiny bit outside my lips without using a lipliner - it does not bleed! I have full lips, so this is just a fun thing to do for me, but I've never been able to color outside my lipline without it looking clownish. There's something about this gloss' particular pigmentation that makes the trick work for me. I generally prefer glosses without a scent, since most companies get it wrong and make them smell tacky, but the tropical mango smell of this gloss is very very good. Whenever I put it on, I can't help but smell the contents of the tube! I would definitely buy another tube of this!
Another beautiful color from the Galaxy collection. This is one of the more pigmented ones, but is still rather sheer. On my pigmented lips, the color shows up as reddish-pink with mostly gold, pink and a bit of blue micro-glitter. This color is reminiscent of Spark, but more sheer. I love Spark, and call this Spark Light. The texture is lovely, just as with all glossimers, non-sticky, smooth and moisturizing. Does not feel gritty on the lips. Lasting power is extremely good for a lip gloss. When I wipe the gloss off with a tissue, there is some micro-glitter left on the lips for a while. I personally like this - if I don't have time for touch ups, my lips won't look completely washed out.
What a gorgeous summer color!!! I couldn't be any happier with this gloss. On my pigmented lips, the color is best described as light sheer fuchsia with pink and blue micro-glitter. The texture is very smooth and moisturizing. It doesn't feel gritty or sticky. The pigmintation is on the sheer side, but you can definitely tell that I am wearing light fuchsia. In my opinion, it's just the right amount of pigment for summer months. On less pigmented lips, I'd imagine it will deposit even more color. Since this is LE, I am considering getting a backup, so I would definitely buy again!
Treatments (Eye) -Chanel - Precision Age Delay Eye [DISCONTINUED]
Annuta 5/30/2007 1:59:00 AM
My search for the perfect eye cream is over. Age Delay is lightweight, absorbs into skin almost immediately and moisturizes my eye area for the entire day even during the hottest and the coldest days. My undereye area is very sensitive. So much so that even putting on eye cream used to feel uncomfortable, but this gel glides right on, finally making this chore a pleasant experience for me. I don't have any puffiness or dark circles, so I have no idea this products merits in that area, but I do get puffy eyes after crying (doesn't everyone?!), and the few times I cried while using this product, I woke up looking like nothing happened. So, this does help with crying-induced puffiness for sure! A few reviewers wrote that this gel turned flaky on their skin. This happened to me too when I applied too much. With this product, a little is definitely better than a lot. You really just need a drop per eye, which makes this product a decent value. Finally, I would advice anyone who wants to try this to first get a sample. A single sample pouch will last you at least a week, and SAs usually give you a few of those.
For once, I'm glad I didn't read Productville before buying! Had I read these reviews, I definitely wouldn't have bought this brush. Perhaps the latest batch of these brushes is better than the early ones, which would explain huge descrepancies between earlier reviews and some of the latter ones. I love this brush! I think it's perfect for what it is designed to do - put on Guerlain Meteorites. If it was any softer, it wouldn't grab the powder particles from the balls as well as it does. It shed a few hairs when I first used it, but after the initial use, it didn't shed at all. There was no noticeable smell, and after just one use it smells like Meteorites, which smell heavenly! Having said this, you can get a cheaper brush that does all this, but if you are a fan of Meteorites, this brush would be a wonderful addition to your collection.
I love this eyeshadow! I have a few champaigne/cream bases, but this is by far my favorite. It has a slight shimmer to it, which brightens up my eyes without going over the top - perfect for work and play! The texture is so soft and smooth, very easy to apply and blend. I will definitely repurchase when it's gone, but there's quite a bit of product, so it will last me a very long time.
I love this lipliner! I always viewed lipliners as a necessary evil, but this is formula is wonderful! Goes on very smooth and creamy, almost melting into my lips. I don't even blend the line before applying lipstick/gloss. The color is muted rose with hints of mauve. This is a very close match for my lips, so I'll be using it as a nude liner. Will definitely buy other colors!
A staple neutral for me. On my eyes the colors are ivory-champaigne, muted peach with slight pink undertones, soft gold, and soft chocolate brown with flashes of silverish shimmer. All colors are shimmers. I find myself reaching for this quad very often - the colors are very well coordinated and work for any occasion. The quality of these shadows is great - they go on silky and blend very well.
Eye Shadow -Chanel - Ombre Unique Shadowlights in TATOU
Annuta 4/24/2007 12:47:00 PM
A black matte color that is not too heavy. Very blendable and can be layered for desired intensity. I love it for a night out paired with pinks, whites and silvers. The wonderful thing about black is that it can compliment practically any color. Also wonderful as an eyeliner for a smudged effect.
This is a gorgeous chocolate-bronze shimmery brown shadow. It is VERY pigmented. I have to be careful not to pick up a whole lot each time I use it, so I'm sure it will last me forever. I love it for evening looks and as an eyeliner. It can be difficult to blend if you pick up a lot of product with the applicator/brush, so be careful. With this one, it's easier to apply by layering the product little by little for ease of blending. The texture is silky smooth and is my favorite dramatic brown eyeshadow.
Another staple of mine! This eyeshadow will be gone faster than any others I have. On me (fair skin, green eyes, brown hair), it is a pearly champaigne beige with a very slight pinkish cast if the light hits it just right. This is my absolute favorite base color/highlighter. The texture is the usual Chanel quality - silky, smooth, extremely blendable and very pigmented - I just need one sweep of the product to get desired effect.
