Fragrances -Christian Dior - Miss Dior Cherie Printemps

I really like this! Not a big fan of Dior's fragrances in general (with the exception of Addict, especially the Eau Fraiche version) I wasn't expecting to, but I tried it several times, couldn't stop thinking about it, and finally bought a bottle. I don't like the original Miss Dior Cherie at all - much too sweet and cloying for me. This one, however... it smells soft, feminine and very clean. Not sharp-clean like, well, Clean, but a soapy-sweet clean that's really appealing. I get faint vanilla notes as well. And this seems to work really well with my body chemistry - it lasts very well on me.

Lotions/ Creams -C.O. Bigelow - Lemon Body Cream

This is seriously my favorite body cream, ever. Not only is the fragrance incredibly lovely - it's very lemony but still nice and sweet, not a hint of dishwashing liquid - but more importantly, it moisturizes really well. I love using this in the winter. My only problems is getting it at all - not sold here in Sweden - and I'm not too fond of the actual jar. But other than that, it's perfect.

Fragrances -Jean Paul Gaultier - Gaultier2

I don't know about the unisex aspect of this, but I know that I really love it on me. It's what I call a "skin scent" - it's very soft and close to the body, and it's not perfumey at all. I can imagine the appeal to many that don't really like strong perfumes. It's fairly vanilla-ish, which I love. And it's not powdery or overly sweet. Just a soft, nice scent, that still feels modern and fresh. It has the same kind of vibe to me as People of the Labyrinths - not that they smell the same, but there's something about both that's special to me. I had to have this one - after just a whiff of it on my skin. The bottle is.. well, a bit dumb. I bought a two-pack, and the first bottle was leaking! I returned it for a non-faulty one, but it would have been super annoying if I had ordered it online like that. The two-pack is pretty good value for money if you have someone to share it with, by the way.

Eye Shadow -Isadora - Eye shadow quartet in Whoopee!
rated 5 of 5

I haven't bought drugstore stuff in quite a while, but this is.. way cool. It's called Whoopee! and that stupid name aside, it's just gorgeous. It has a deep violet shade, that's very intense - not dark, but intense. It has an electric blue shade that's very close to the one in Nars Rated-R. There's also a very reddish rosey bronze color, very rusty - it's absolutely gorgeous, and I can't wait to wear it! Then the final gem - the green. It's the most beautiful green shade I've ever seen. It's grassy, golden, not too dark, not too light.. just perfect. Really, those of you who live where Isadora is sold - check this out! And don't bother that the model wearing the colors (ALL at once!) looks crazy - the shadows are beautiful! As always, Isadora has surprisingly good texture, and are very much comparable to high end like Dior. Well worth the money!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Graphito Paint
rated 2 of 5
Anne 8/1/2004 5:34:00 AM

Hate to ruin the great record, but this is one of the worst paints in my opinion. It's a really dark grey, as others have said, and totally unusable for me. It's very hard to work with, and makes me look like someone punched me. As a liner, it's messy and hard to get a thin enough line. No, while I'm a great paint lover, this one is not for me.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Doubling Mascara
rated 2 of 5

Terrible! Sure, the lashes look fine, long and fairly thick.. but it smudges, and when this little baby comes into my eyes - it stings like crazy!! I finally realized that it's not going to change, and I just threw it out. It's really not a good product for me.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Dior Bronze - Sweet Sun
rated 4 of 5
Anne 5/18/2004 3:06:00 AM

I'm really fond of this! I'm so glad I bought it - this will be perfect for those warm summer days out on a boat, or just lounging around the apartment. I agree that Sweet Sun is an excellent name for this - it's a very warm, sweet, bright scent. I can't name individual notes besides vanilla and coconut - definitely remiscient of suntan lotion, but in a good way. Not fruity at all on me.

Fragrances -Clean - Fun
rated 2 of 5

Ewww! This one smells like plastic - vaguely orangey, but mostly just.. plastic. Not very clean at all, and just plain weird. At least it helps me narrow down which Clean fragrance to get - it won't be this one! :)

Eye Shadow -Lancome - Colour Focus Palette - Calypso

This works so well for me! I'm a pale redhead with blue-green eyes, and I can wear both cool and warm colors. I haven't played a whole lot with this, but so far, I'm wearing it with the bronze as a wash on the lid, the champagne as a highlight, and the orange shade in the crease and lightly under eye. It looks amazing - very beachy, and it somehow makes even pale me look somewhat tanned! And it really makes my eyes look SO blue!

Eye Shadow -Sue Devitt - Ayers
rated 4 of 5

Ooh, this is a very pretty shade! I wouldn't really call it orange, but ok, I suppose it is. It's not a bright orange, nothing like Nars Mediterranee or MAC Rule - it's more subdued, and it has a lot of gold shimmer. Stunning shade for blue-green eyes, that's for sure!

Eye Shadow -Sue Devitt - Flinders Ranges Eyeshadow
rated 4 of 5
Anne 3/8/2004 2:42:00 PM

This is one of my fave purples! Others have described it as light-medium - I'm more towards medium-dark. It's a lavender shade, and it's fairly unusual. It does have some shimmer, and it looks good with SO many other shades. Very foolproof, in my opinion, as it's super silky and easy to blend.

Eye Shadow -Sue Devitt - Silky Sheen Eyeshadow in Storybook Cave
rated 4 of 5

I like this a lot. Sure, it's neutral and nothing really special, but it's a great neutral. Others have described it well - it's a golden caramel to me. And it looks stunning with my blue-green eyes - it really makes them pop.

Blush -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Blush #2 Coral
rated 5 of 5
Anne 3/8/2004 3:24:00 AM

Great product with wonderful packaging - I have no problems with it. #2 is a very slightly shimmery browned-down peach. It's sheer, and not too bright. This is perfect for a soft summer look! It's really pretty on fair skin - I'm a MAC NW20, and it works very well for me.

Blush -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Blush #1 Rose
rated 5 of 5
Anne 3/8/2004 3:23:00 AM

Oh - I love this. It's such an excellent product. I love that it's so easy to use - no need to tote around a brush, thus perfect for travelling. It also has a large mirror, which is great. But more important, the actual product is SO pretty! #1 is a very slightly shimmery glowing pink. It's sheer, and not too bright. I think most complexions can wear this. I am a MAC NW20, redhead with blue-green eyes, and it looks fab on me.

Moisturizers -Burt's Bees - Marshmallow Vanishing Creme
rated 2 of 5
Anne 1/31/2004 5:46:00 AM

I happen to love the jar - very cute, and very cute with burt's bees logo on top. But.. the cream itself? No. it's too heavy and salve-like, even though it melts nicely on contact. The smell is so strong - I was fine with it until my boyfriend remarked that it smelled like a dentist's office, and now I can't stand it. At all. Because he's totally right. It does. And it's disgusting. I'll use it up as a foot cream, but I can never put it near my face again. Even when I did use it on my face, by the way, it didn't do much. Not sure if it broke me out, but it wasn't healing either.
