Skincare - Face -Ombrelle - spf 40 sunscreen lotion

I am writing a review of the Ombrelle Face Cream SPF 45. My skin is on the drier side of normal and this cream is perfect. I am olive in complexion and it does not leave a white cast on my face. I am also very acne prone and this cream does not cause any breakouts. This cream provides a very dewy finish and makeup seems to sit on top of the cream versus getting into one's pores. It is around $20 a tube in Canada but every once in awhile it goes on sale for half price! Such a bargin. I used to buy the Multi-Protection Broad-Spectrum SPF 50 by Revision Skincare - it was very good but at $70 a jar it was very pricey. Ombrelle Face Cream SPF 45 is comparable at a much more affordable price.

Sunscreen -Pratima - Neem Rose Sunscreen

It is not a bad product but there are few things wrong with it. - leaves a grey cast on my face, I have an olive complexion and it looks ashy even after an hour or so - it is not moisturizing enough, I tend to have dry skin so this formulation would work better on a oily skin type - I am not sure how well it works - I am generous with the application as you should with sunscreen but I am more tanned than usual. What is good about this cream. . . -It is cheap at $18 -It does not cause breakouts -It is all natural -It smells nice -It is not a greasy sunscreen If Pratima's Neem Rose Sunscreen did not leave me with an ashy face I would buy it again. Update: I looked at the Pratima website regarding the Neem Rose Sunscreen and it states: TIPS: Can be used daily as a light and healing moisturizer. Thoroughly protects against harmful UVA, UVB and UVC rays, but in cases of extreme sun exposure, apply Healing Neem Oil and follow with Neem Rose face Sunscreen So it is not meant for extreme sun exposure - please make note.

Primer/ Corrector -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat (Radiant Touch)

I attended a YSL party awhile back and got a Touche Eclat stick as a give away. In Canada, Touche Eclat is $50 plus tax so approximately $57 - it is pricey and it is worth it? In my experience no. It is nice, it highlights well but you can buy a powder highlighter at a lower price point to achieve the same result. It is also important to note that it is not a concealer it is a highlighter - it does not cover it enhances one's features.

Polishes -OPI - Koala Bear-y

Koala Bear-y is the perfect fuschia pink shade. Not too bright, not too red - it is a deep pink that looks perfect with olive skin. I just had a manicure back to back with this colour because it is so pretty. It is perfect for pedicures as well for those who are shy to wear colour on their hands. Worth the price.

Moisturizers -Neostrata - Smoothing Cream (all concentration levels)

I have been using the Level 2 smoothing creams on and off for at least 10 years now and they never disappoint. If you are acne prone and Retin A doesnt do much for you - I suggest AHA's and BP. I am currently using the day cream with SPF 15 and the night cream. Neostrata's smoothing cream - does just that - smooths your skin without causing breakouts. It does not smell great nor feel luxurious but it works and for around $30 CDN a jar - that works for me.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser

I just found this product too drying for my skin. It does a good job of removing makeup and cleansing the skin but it is too harsh in the process. I only use when I wear a full face of make up and moisturize heavily afterwards. I would not buy Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser again.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Medium Deep

I love this powder, I actually bought it one shade darker and use it as a bronzer on my forehead, nose and tops of my cheeks. The mineral finish is sublime and when I finish my Cargo HD powder I am trading it in for this product. I use a large brush for application and I have slightly dry skin and I find this powder very moisturizing.

Powder -Cargo - Cargo Blu-Ray High Definition Powder Makeup

I used Stila pressed powder for over 10 years. For me to change powders it is a big deal. Cargo Blu Ray HD powder is amazing - it makes my face look smooth as can be. I use it with Cargo's one base concealer and my face looks flawless. It is important to note that it is medium coverage. I have gone thru three compacts in 2 years.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment

I am on Accutane right now and if anyone has been on this medication you know it dries your skin out severly. My lips were on fire before I used Aquaphor and now totally moisturized. Excellent product and my HG lip treatment.

Skincare - Body -Lubriderm - Skin Nourishing Moisturizing Lotion with Shea and Cocoa Butters

I bought this lotion because it was fall and I thought I should ramp up on moisturizing my skin. I didn't feel this lotion did a good job, it felt watery in consistency and left a film on my skin. I used half the bottle and gave the rest away. Will not purchase again.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Trisan Mild Antibacterial Cleanser

I got several samples of Trisan from my Dermatologist. It is a good gentle cleanser. Similar to Spectro Jel but no fragrance. It is about $16 CDN.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Firecracker (Summer 2010)

Firecracker is nice neutral lip gloss for those who have darker complexions. It is a complimentary orangy red that is great for the warmer weather. My favourite of the new collection is coral reef - hands down but Firecracker is a good second.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Coral Reef

Okay Coral Reef is exactly what I have been looking for all my life! It is a peachy pink colour that compliments my olive complexion. It was on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada for only $3.99 compared to the regular price of $10.49. The coverage is great, it has SPF 15 and it is perfect for spring and summer. I am awfully upset that they discontinued my HG lipgloss "Cherries in the Glow" but this will certainly do. There is no need to spend lots of $$$ on lip gloss Revlon is comparable to department store brands.

Cleansers -Clearasil - 3 in 1 Acne Defense Cleaner

I love this cleanser - it is my HG. It moisturizes my face with the benefits of Salicylic acid. I am no longer acne prone but I like to use a acne wash as a preventative measure. Also, Salicylic acid has antioxidant enzymes which keep my face smooth and clear. I will continue to buy this product.
