Treatments (Eye) -Origins - GinZing

LOVE this eye cream! I just purchased this after using Origins' Eye Doctor for over a year without results (love how it feels, smells, etc., but didn't have any effect on my undereye shadows or puffiness.) It doesn't really have a scent to speak of, goes on quite smooth (without being greasy) and has a sheer pink tint to offset any dark shadows that you may have goin' on under your eyes. I know this may be pre-mature to say as I have only been using this a week, but *knock on wood* I am beginning to notice my puffiness subside JUST a BIT. :) Yay! * I have been using this as my day eye cream. I use Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins as my night eye cream. ***EDITED due to the fact that I have been using for months now. No reduction in puffiness as I previously thought. I still like the texture and the pinkish tint does help to offset dark circles, but this doesn't really help with puffiness at all. I'm disappointed because I thought that I had finally found my HG eye cream.

Treatments (Eye) -Origins - High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-enriched eye cream

I ordered this product about a month ago when Origins had Eye Doctor (which I LOVE) on backorder. Being that I do my skincare ritual at night anyway I thought that this would be a good eye cream to try. I really like the feel of this cream. It is super moisturizing, but not greasy & has a nice, light botanical scent.... reminds me of the "Aveda" smell. I do suffer from under eye puffiness & a hint of dark circles though & have yet to see a difference in those areas. SEVERAL MONTH EDIT***** I still enjoy this cream as far as it's moisturizing effects, however it has done nothing to reduce my dark circles, puffiness or fine lines.

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color
rated 5 of 5

All I can say after my 4th or 5th time using this hair color is, WOW! I decided to save some mulah this spring & go back to my natural hair color (almost black) from my way highlighted (close to platinum) blonde. I usually use L'Oreal Feria when I go dark, however after reading the reviews on here, decided to give Garnier a try. I couldn't be happier that I did! This color covers AMAZING - I went from close to platinum to a dark brown in the the first application with very minimal fading! Not only does my hair look great, but (is this possible?) feels even healthier since I've been coloring it. It so shiny :). HG hair color for sure!

Shampoo -Organix - Shea Butter Smoothing Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
AndieD 9/19/2008 3:33:00 PM

This shampoo is nice & has a beautiful scent that last all day. It rinses clean, but leaves hair a bit dry. If you do use this BEWARE!!!!! Do NOT use with it's matching conditioner. The Organix Shea Butter Conditioner is terrible - you're better off not using conditioner at all (my hair actually felt drier after I applied it ... ugh.)

Conditioner -Organix - Shea Butter Conditioner
rated 1 of 5

This conditioner smells amazing, but does not work whatsoever! After shampooing my hair with the Organix Shea Butter Shampoo (which was decent,) I applied a normal amt. of this conditioner. I was excited at first because the consistency is so thick & creamy - which, in my experience is a great sign in a conditioner. Much to my disappointment the conditioner disappeared after application - no joke, it sunk right into my hair leaving my hair feeling totally dry. I thought that maybe either I didn't add enough, or because it was so thick that it didn't spread all over, so I tried adding more. Nope, that just sunk in too. Worst conditioner ever. Bummer because the pretty scent lasts all day (& I kept getting compliments on how nice my hair smelled.)

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Skin Firming Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5

As far as skin firming lotions go, I have tried them all & this is my HG! I love it. It has the cleanest scent even, rubs right in to my skin & has me feeling soft all day long.

Mascara -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy Lashes - Intensifying Mascara
rated 3 of 5
AndieD 8/12/2008 9:07:00 PM

This is the very first mascara that I have ever LOVED. It literally does not clump... whatsoever!!!! It also lengthens my short lashes. AH-MAZING!!!! *EDIT 2-7-09* I have changed my opinion & my lippie rating of this mascara as the second tube I purchased was not all that. I'm assuming that I just got an old tube because the first one was so nice, however that leads me to believe that this mascara is very unpredictable... my second tube clumped like no other. I'm thinking I MAY give it another try to see if I was just unlucky this time though.

Eyeliner -Stila - Stila Kajal Eye Liner in Smokey Quartz
rated 1 of 5
AndieD 6/7/2008 10:12:00 PM

I can't begin to say how disappointed I am in this product. I have always had such a wonderful experience with products I've used from Stila... I never wear black eyeliner (always dark grey) & I can't stand automatic pencils, so my options are limited as far as brands go. When I saw that Stila offered a dark grey khol liner I was so happy! The packaging is adorable, the price is fair & the liner itself goes on smooth as can be. I was so excited after I had put it on, then, about a minute later, I looked in the mirror. I looked like Alice Cooper. I thought that maybe I had gotten my eye cream too close to my eyes & that was what was causing the liner torun so bad, but nope. I've gived it a week. It's the same every day. What a bummer.

Fragrances -Tommy Hilfiger - Tommy Girl
rated 5 of 5
AndieD 5/22/2008 4:54:00 PM

No matter how many others I try, I ALWAYS come running back to my ol' faithful, Tommy Girl. I can't say enough good things about it. I guess the scent is slightly floral (which, I usually don't care for,) but there's more to it than that. It smells fresh & clean & lingers all day!

Blush -Origins - Brush-On Color - Sheer Berry
rated 5 of 5
AndieD 5/22/2008 4:51:00 PM

I have been using Origins blush for over 10 years now & Sheer Berry has been my HG color for 4 of them! I just ADORE it. It looks HOT PINK, but is a lot more subtle than that once applied. It blends really nicely, has a light as can be feel & stays on all day. The packaging is nice too (large mirror & nice brush that I even use lol.)

Mascara -Origins - Origins Full Story mascara
rated 3 of 5
AndieD 4/19/2008 11:37:00 PM

Eh, for as much as I love all things Origins, I do not love this mascara. It has a nice consistancy & doesn't run or clump, but that's about all I can say about it. It really kinda just hangs out on my lashes... doesn't make them curl, or appear any more full. I am, however, VERY picky about mascara. I have tried a TON of brands over the years & I can only think of 3 that I'd extend even a 4 lippie rating to, so considering this was not one of my least favs... maybe someone else would like it?

Eye Shadow -Pout - Eye Shadow (general - all colors)
rated 5 of 5
AndieD 4/16/2008 5:19:00 PM

These shadows are amazing! The colors are all so VIBRANT ... they actually show up on your eyes just how they look in the packaging. The shadow goes on very smooth & feels weightless. Super long lasting! A bit pricey, but in this case I think you're getting what you pay for. =)

Mascara -MAC - Fibre Rich Lash Mascara
rated 3 of 5
AndieD 4/6/2008 6:50:00 PM

Eh, I don't love it & it's nothing to write home about. I admit to being extremely picky about mascara though (which is why the 3 lippie rating when I'm not crazy about it.) I haven't found many that I like & this one was just, well, okay. I felt like it was pretty nice when I first purchased it, but soon after got clumpy. A bunus is that it didn't really seem to flake, so that's a good thing.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
AndieD 4/6/2008 6:45:00 PM

I adore Smashbox eyeshadow! Second only to Origins & it's a VERY close second. I love how smooth it goes on & how vibrant the colors are! It's so refreshing when the eyeshadow shows up on your eyes just as it looks in the case! I can not say enough good things. It stays on all day & isn't difficult to remove either. Wow! Love it.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Feria Haircolor
rated 4 of 5
AndieD 4/6/2008 6:41:00 PM

When I get the urge to go dark (closer to my almost black natural color, or just darker than my blonde usual,) I always color my hair myself. I have found L'Oreal's Feria to be the best D/S color of them all... I can't tell you how many of the colors I've used (I even used the blondes in my younger days.) Seriously... everything from Platinum to black & a bunch inbetween. The color covers fabulously, leaves hair shiny, doesn't have a harsh smell (as far as hair color goes) & comes with an amazing conditioner.
