Hair Styling Tools -Conair - Crimper/shiner/straightener/waver
rated 1 of 5
AndeeMode 6/14/2010 2:55:00 AM

Simply put, this flat iron/crimper/shiner/waver whatever is terrible. I purchased this for my little cousin (16) becuase she was new to the whole beauty thing, so I wanted to give her a couple new things to play with. I purchased a small makeup kit from Sephora & this from either Target or Walmart (I don't recall) . I totally believed this would be great because it did so many things :p But oh my gosh, that poor girl. She wanted me to try it on her to show her the ropes, & I must have stopped half way through. I was attempting to straighten out her hair (which is already quite straight) & I could literally hear the crunchy popping sound from where it was damaging her hair :( The plates pulled strands and were doing absolutely nothing for her anyway, so I didn't even bother to try the crimper etc. >:[ I remember having a device very similar to this when I was younger, my first, & feeling as if my hair was to blame (because it never turned out right). But no, I will never repurchase a Conair hair thing again. I don't even like their brushes. & there hot rollers are crap too. I saved up a bit and purchased a Hot Tools flat iron for her later on. Don't fall for the price, it's not even worth that :( I do not rec :p

Styling Products -TiGi - Bed Head After Party

I love this stuff! Honestly, at first I was only attracted to the cute neon pink bottle hahaha :D That's really why I purchased it lol. I am totally a sucker for packaging :D But after doing my hair one day, I decided to give it a shot for the first time :) Usually I use my Biosilk, but I wanted to change it up a bit <3 So I pumped a bit in my hand, rubbed it together to warm it up a bit, and started at the tips of my hair & worked my way up. This stuff smells so good! And I hate hate hate when products leave my hair oily and heavy, so I can honestly say I was so impressed that this stuff didn't :) It gave me a boost of softness, & a tad bit of shine (not too much) ;) It made my hair look and feel healthy, and even though my hair is not crunchy or too damaged, I love the way it adds a little something after I use my flat iron :) I would definitely rec. this product :) For the price, you get a good amount of product that when used everyday, will last you a pretty long while. I have had mine for about 3 months now & have not made a dent! For ref, my hair is medium length, & medium thickness :) It tends to get oily very easily & quickly, and this product just works great to not make my difficult hair..more difficult haha :) <3 I picked mine up for around $13 at my salon :) I think some Supercenter Walmarts have started carrying them as well. <3 Try it out :)

Concealers -Amazing Cosmetics - Amazing Concealer
rated 3 of 5
AndeeMode 6/4/2010 6:01:00 PM

Ok, I first heard of this concealer from a mkup tutorial on YouTube :) Michelle Phan I believe, had said it was her HG concealer, so I wanted it really bad. LOL I am always on the hunt for "amazing" concealers, so I thought maybe I had struck gold with this one :) So I headed to ULTA when I had the cash and purchased 2 in "Medium Beige". lol had to get that backup for some reason haha (broke the bank with this choice) :( I have to say, it matches my skin perfectly but only blends "ok" :/ Sadly I wasn't "amazed" :( It is kind of drying, & made my dry areas even more noticable :( I don't think the coverage is too great either. Maybe because it is liquid-ish, but I was under the impression that it still had pretty full coverage. I thought maybe it would be lighter than my usual heavy cream concealers, which it is a bit, but I would have liked a little better coverage :( I have some acne scarring here and there, and it didn't do much for me. *sigh* A little goes a long way, but it still didn't leave me with a flawless finish like I had dreamed :( So sad. I don't think it is worth the price, and would not recommend to anyone who has combination skin or scarring. It works ok for the under eye, but I still feel it is drying, so I won't use it there anymore. I had a bunch of MUAers recommend I go out and purchase MAC's studio concealer pot thingy, so I guess that will be my next try :) All in all, I will try to use the little tube up and probably swap the backup. I will not be repurchasing :(

Eye Shadow -Sally Girl - Mini Baked Eyeshadow - All colors
rated 5 of 5
AndeeMode 5/28/2010 1:11:00 AM

I love these cute little shadows! I went to Sally's one day with my mom, and she was actually the one to notice them by the register :) She was like "Andrea, these are so cute! I'm getting you this gold color to try tonight" At first, I thought- mom, you get what you pay for...and maybe she just wanted a little cute shadow because I am still her baby..or whatever :D hehe *^-^* So I didn't think it would be amazing or anything. But I grabbed two more anyway haha (they R super cute! lol) Well when I tried them that night, my jaw dropped! "you guys..mom..tyler...you guys have to see this swatch from this bronze one!" SO GORGEOUS!! PIGMENTED!! Just awesome! <3 <3 I am in LOVE with shimmery, gold, bronzy, baked shadows. and Sally's were by far the best I had tried yet! Even against some of my Urban Decay favs, and Hard Candy favs. Beats out Milani, and is comparable to some of my MAC mineralize shadows! (Love connection is my fav) :) I LOVE them all and will keep repurchasing! :) But a tip: be careful will the cute little packaging :) One of mine knocked against my vanity and the whole little baked ball just came loose :( I was so sad. So I tried to push it back in, but it wouldn't stay. But for a $1, I'll just pick up a backup or something lol <3 <3 Go pick a handful up ladies <3 It'll be the best pocket change you've ever spent :D lol <3

Misc Beauty Tools -Sonia Kashuk - Blending Sponge
rated 2 of 5
AndeeMode 5/25/2010 2:12:00 AM

I purchased the purple version about a week ago. The first time I used it, I was super impressed. It left my makeup with a nice finish after applying liquid foundation. The next day, it wasn't as amazing, but I thought it was just me being lazy or something. Well the NEXT day, I knew for sure it wasn't me. It wasn't blending as well, because even after I wiped it down with mkup remover, it had residue it had soaked up. I tried to clean it, and boyyy was that a pain. It still isn't clean! I sprayed it with my mkup remover, wiped, rinsed, soaped up, rinsed, rubbed, squished, rinsed! OMG!!! It still isn't clean!!! A bunch of makeup soaked up into the thing! (What a waste of foundation btw) Mainly on the main end (wider part). I could feel the foundation (Photoready) kinda just sitting on top of it. Grr. And I guess even with being super gentle, it still wasn't durable enough during cleansing. It has two small rips and a chunk missing!??? This was expensive for a sponge first off, and it's not even durable. I didn't even get to use it for a week without it getting...ruined I guess. I'm super bummed :/ Maybe it's just me not knowing how to clean it :( But I think it wasn't worth it anyway :p WOULD NOT REPURCHASE. I'll look for another sponge. meh. :(

Lip Treatments -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Stick
rated 2 of 5
AndeeMode 5/24/2010 4:58:00 PM

I purchased this product based on some reviews I had read...and I have to say I could have prob. done without it :/ It is a bit greasy..and doesn't rub in very easily. I usually try to use it only on my elbows and the heels of my feet. Overall, I would not repurchase, I prefer the cream and lotion form of Palmers much more ;)

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure - Pat on the Black
rated 4 of 5
AndeeMode 5/16/2010 5:09:00 AM

Very sophisticated dark shade. I feel this polish really gives my hands an elegant and slender look <3 I usually tend to lean more towards nudes and pinks, and had always been a bit iffy on black-ish shades, but this color is deep and gorgeous. I love Sally Hansen's Complete Manicure Polishes as a whole for sure, and feel they are really good quality. They all seem to wear well and are quite pigmented :) I have built up a large collection of most of the shades, and Pat on the Black is in my top 5 for sure. I'm not sure if I would repurchase, mainly because I have never gotten through an entire polish lol. But I would definitely recommend, and am very happy with mine <3

Fragrances -Burberry - Brit
rated 5 of 5
AndeeMode 5/16/2010 5:03:00 AM

A must buy! Gorgeous and addicting scent. Definitely diff. from any I have ever owned/tried. I usually lean towards fruity/floral scents for some reason. But my bf purchased the Brit for men (black bottle) and I was in love :) <3 So I went out and bought this as soon as I could. A bit pricey, so I went to Drug Emporium and found it for about 20 bucks cheaper, full size and new :) I was so excited <3 I would have to say this is my HG scent, and runner up would be my Paris Hilton :D They differ by a land slide, but ehh :) I like to change it up :D I also love my Eternity <3 lol I would definitely recommend Brit, and also suggest you visiting a Drug Emporium, if there is one near you, for super low prices on fragrances :) (and TJ MAXXXXX always has good deals too :)

Lips -Cover Girl - Outlast Lipstain
rated 1 of 5
AndeeMode 5/15/2010 10:33:00 PM

Ok, I was really stoked about these after seeing them in numerous magazines etc. I went out and purchased almost every color, which was really dumb on my part. I figured, how hard would it be to create these, they MUST work :p Well, I wasted a grip of cash, and totally regret buying these. ( I have a bit of a makeup/shopping problem as far as impulse buys and hype buys are concerned. Bad me *slaps hand*) These honestly smell exactly like a crayola marker...and I felt so dumb using these on my lips. Like I was playing around with markers from kinder! (I actually colored my lips once or twice when I was 8 or 9, going for mommy's "lipstick" look...lol) These are quite simply, lip markers. They do not last long at all, have strange tips/applicators that make the finished look seem messy. I tried my hardest to get these to blend etc, but it just looked terrible. The smell, the strange initial wet feeling, all similar to that of a crayola marker! They dried and looked funny too :[ I spent like $7 bucks on each one! grr...Now I remember why I have never really enjoyed Cover Girl's products. :/

Scrubs -Tree Hut - Tree Hut Brazilian Nut Sugar Scrub
rated 5 of 5
AndeeMode 5/15/2010 9:20:00 PM

Yummy yummy stuff! The scent is absolutely addicting, and it is ground perfectly and doesn't feel too rough at all. I love how it feels like a very thick syrup mixed with a thicker grain than sand..super relaxing and no trouble at all. It always leaves my hands super soft, and my skin like new :) <3 I can smell the chocolate-(ish) scent on me for hours, very delicious aroma. I feel super pampered when I use this, and my skin feels so fresh and silky. If it leaves a bit of residue, it only means you need to rinse a bit longer. Your bath/shower temp helps out everything if it is set a bit warmer. Also, I usually use a small plastic spread tool (that I go with a waxing kit) to spread the product around before I scrub. I feel it will help to avoid gathering bacteria in the actual container/tub. You can just use a platic spoon or something. It also helps to avoid water gathering in there, which I feel could over time change the whole texture of the product. :) Overall, I am very satified with the product, it's price, and the amount <3 I got mine at walmart on sale, & I would definitely rebuy at reg. price :) (also, try out the coconut lime version! It smells delicious too! <3)

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 1 of 5
AndeeMode 5/14/2010 3:39:00 PM

I really don't like this stuff. It's runny and a bit filmy when you are actually washing. It sort of feels like watery lotion or something. Doesn't foam hardly at all, and my skin felt like it needed to be washed again.. 0.o I was actually really bummed about this because I had high hopes :/ I had seen reviews, magazines, etc that raved about this stuff. All in all, I am prob. going to end up throwing it out :( I used it about 2x, but if anyone is interested in whats left, lmk. But I'm not going to list it because it's really not worth it. I can see this product working for someone desperate with like super super sensitive skin or something. I feel like I threw away money on this one though :(

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
rated 3 of 5
AndeeMode 5/12/2010 3:37:00 AM

I wouldn't say that these work great. They are O.K in my book. They do not work amazingly, but they do remove a little bit of blackheads etc. They are simple to use, all you have to do is dampen your nose and apply the strip. It then molds to you and hardens. After a few minutes you then remove the strip. Everytime I have used this, I notice only a few peppered (gross lol) winnings on the strip after removal. It pulls a bit hard, so you would think it worked awesome, but I always feel a little dissapointed. I wish it would remove more, but it just can't I guess. I haven't found strips that work much better, so I will stick with these until then. I will continue to repurchase, and recommend. But if you have sensitive skin, and can not handle a little pain/discomfort, I must warn you it leaves my honker a bit red and stings when I pull off, slow or fast. But these strips do work well enough :)

Blush -L'Oreal - True Match super blendable blush n1-2 precious peach
rated 3 of 5
AndeeMode 5/10/2010 3:37:00 AM

Really nice color :) Blended very well, as do all True Match products IMO. I found this color to not be very noticeable on me, but still like to use it on days when I feel like wearing only a bit of makeup. :) I prob. will only use this until I finish it off, and look around for more peachy blushes. One with a little less shimmer to it. I prefer matte almost always :) I really love the other 4 True Match Blushes I have, and will most likely repurchase those. (Tender Rose, Apricot Kiss, Baby Blossom, Barely Blushing) All are super cute and look great on my cheekies :D <3 I definitely would recommend trying out all of L'Oreal's True Match blushes, and also their really great liquid foundations :)

Liquid -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
AndeeMode 5/10/2010 3:24:00 AM

I was not very happy with this foundation at all. The wear was very short, and seemed to seperate after only a couple of hours. I have combo skin, and this foundation kind of made my dry areas appear flaky.. :/ It didn't win against my oily areas either. The coverage was light to medium, and I felt that building was a bit difficult as far as blending was concerned. Even with the closest shade I could find to match my skin tone, I couldn't seem to get this to look natural. I haven't had very many good exp. with mineral products. My difficult skin always wins the battle. The oil or dryness, or skin tone never seem to work well with the textures that mineral foundation and powders seem to have. Overall, I was not impressed and would most likely not recommend :/

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Bright Duo - Brazen #118
rated 4 of 5
AndeeMode 5/10/2010 1:41:00 AM

Great quality shadows :) I absolutely love HiP! (Great eyeliners as well!) These two colors are awesome, and I use them for a couple diff. looks :) I can use the deep side as a liner, and the pinky color in the outer v, crease, or over the lid :) (looks awesome with golds and nudes!) This duo creates a nice fun & sultry look IMO. <3 I love the pink so much, and the darker shade is so great to make any look a "night out" look. I would repurchase (I actually almost have too lol) and def. recommend :)
