Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
Aminsat 8/2/2011 10:26:00 PM
This is the mascara I always come back to. No matter if I try other high end or drugstore brands, Voluminous gives me the lashes I want. I've been purchasing the Carbon Black version since it's come out. It gives me dramatic, dark, voluminous lashes in a few coats. If you're looking for a clean, natural look, I would not recommend this mascara. But if you want drama, this mascara delivers! Love it! <3

Polishes -OPI - Mod About You

The perfect bubblegum pink nail colour, nuff said. :) I actually saw this on a sales associate that was helping me and I had to ask her what it was, thanks to her help, I dashed to Trade Secrets right away. I think it looks a little different on everyone but is always cute. Two strangers have recognized it by name which I don't think has ever happened with a nail colour for me so I guess it's creating some buzz. The first OPI colour I liked enough to buy. About time someone created an opaque candy pink!

Skincare - Body -Johnson & Johnson - Head to Toe baby wash
Aminsat 7/31/2011 4:57:00 PM
This is a Holy Grail cleanser right here! This is non-irritating, it has never burned my eyes, never left my skin feeling tight and best of all it gets rid of the most hardcore makeup in one wash. It's hard to believe my layers of eye makeup are splashed away with this gentle baby wash but it's true. Not to mention you get a HUGE 828 mL bottle for only $8 CAD, this product is a steal! Thinking back on all the cash I shelled out for dinky little cleansers that never worked, this is great value right here. The pump bottle is the ideal packaging too I think, I tried the foam bottle version and it didn't work as well as the gel. Please girls, do yourself and your wallet a favour and just try it. I'm very happy with this little gem and I wouldn't have known about it without fellow MUAs. Thank you :)

Lip Gloss -MAC - morning glory
Aminsat 7/31/2011 1:44:00 PM
This has been my go-to gloss for years. I <3 it! It's a light pinkish-lavender sparkly gloss and it works really well with my skintone. I used to top it up with daps of MAC Out to Shock lipstick before that got discontinued :'(. But if you're looking for a cool pink look on your lips, this goes well with any pale pink lipstick or in the centre of your lips to give them a plumper look. There's a sheer aspect to it but depending on how much you put on, the amount of pigment is buildable. I would say it has medium sparkle compared to what you can find nowadays so beware if sparkle is not your thing. And it's as sticky as most of the MAC glosses which is to say it's pretty sticky. But this gloss definately gives me the extra oomph I want on my lips...if you love the barbie pink lips look, this gloss is a MUST for your makeup bag!

Lip Gloss -NARS - Turkish Delight
Aminsat 2/1/2007 10:32:00 PM
This is the perfect muted pink gloss! There's no sparkle, it's not too sticky and it goes well with my skin but I kinda feel it lacks a little pizzazz but that's just me :). I can definately understand the hype and it's good for when I want a more understated look. I agree that it's a little runny too.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - 10
Aminsat 1/21/2007 11:51:00 AM
Benefit 10...I saw your oh so pretty shimmery packaging at Sephora and couldn't help myself! This is one lavish splurge I don't regret making. The combo is subtle enough that I don't worry about putting on too much. It's very shimmery in the package but not overwhelming when I put it on. I've heard others say that the pink highlighter is similar to Dandelion but I totally don't think so. Whereas my dandelion is more of a peachy pink, the highlighter is a nice light angelic silvery pink. Since I am NC30 I don't put too much on but it's great on my cheekbones and a nice contrast to the bronzer. The bronzer is wonderful, not as dark as it looks and a perfect brown. The only con I have is that the brush idea doesn't work perfectly. If you want to spread the colours to other areas, it would be nice if they were separate. Other than that, I am soo happy I bought this pretty blush...I love my Benefit 10! <3

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Lineworks Waterproof Liquid EyeLiner in Black
Aminsat 6/11/2006 12:29:00 AM
This is my favourite eyeliner! It really does stay on all day and the brush is really easy to use and versatile, I can make a thin line or slant for a nice thick line. It doesn't budge at all, it's the best liquid liner I've tried. Love it <3

Blush -NARS - Angelika
Aminsat 6/10/2006 11:23:00 PM
I love this blush!!! It's a very pink shimmery blush that's really perfect on my tan skin. I agree that it's really girly and feminine but not in a soft and natural way more in a rosey pink cheeks way. I use this mostly in the winter and it gives me a really fresh, vibrant look. It's funny, when I was at the department store checking out the blushes, the lady at the counter kept on talking me out of getting it because she said the pinks are really horrible on tan skin and kept suggesting boring brown and orangey colours. So I finally told her I was buying it for my sister :). I really think it goes perfectly with my skin and probably would look nice on other skintones as well. Some days though, it can be a little too 'blushy' for me if I want a softer look. Also, although there are sparkles in the palette, the don't seem to transfer to skin at all. All in all, a very good blush. :)

Lipstick -MAC - Tanarama
Aminsat 6/2/2006 9:58:00 PM
This is a metallic shimmery frost colour that's a really good tool to brighten up other lip colours. It's described as a golden beige. I don't know if it could be worn alone but I usually just put a little bit on top of my other lipsticks in the center and it makes my lips look poutier. Be careful, it's not for everybody and if you put too much on you might end up looking too 80s.

Lipstick -MAC - Snob lipstick
Aminsat 6/2/2006 9:46:00 PM
This is a great light mauve pink. The only con I have is that it's fairly noticeable and can sometimes be too bright. But it's really such a fun colour and the satin texture has good staying power. Because it's not very versatile and can easily make you look overdone...I took a lippie away. :)

Lotions/ Creams -Sephora - Indulgences->Whipped Body Delights in Pumpkin Thyme
Aminsat 6/2/2006 9:31:00 PM
Wow!!! This is one of the nicest scent I have ever tried. It smells just like pumpkin pie...so yummy!!! And everyone loves it, I get compliments whenever I use it. It really reminds me of the fall and I just can't get enough of it. I might even prefer it to my Dior Addict. It's strong enough to last the whole day and oh yeah, it moisturizes really well. My skin feels so soft and smooth after using it. Of course you only get 64g for $12 CDN but, to me, it's worth it. I would give it 6 lippies if I could. So disappointed they discontinued this =(

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion
Aminsat 6/2/2006 9:02:00 PM
This used to be my HG blush for spring and fall but I found that it was a little too subtle. It's a very soft look especially on my skintone (NC30). This is light pink and it has a nice slight shimmer so it gives a nice glow and its perfect when I'm going for a more natural look. For winter and summer, I go with NARS Angelika and Benefit 10 respectively.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
Aminsat 10/9/2005 11:33:00 PM
I used to use this cleanser every day but I got annoyed of it's inablilty to remove all my makeup in one go. Yes, it's never caused any irritation on my skin and is very safe for sensitive skin and it does a decent job of getting rid of light makeup. However, it doesn't really take off heavy makeup or eye makeup well and I'm just too lazy to have a separate eye makeup remover not to mention buy a separate cleanser for nighttime. And since I've discovered J & J Head to Toe Baby Wash (seriously ladies, this stuff is HG material, kickbum makeup/dirt removal with no irritation) there's really no reason I would repurchase this cleanser. I will give it this much credit though, it is definately a safe and gentle cleanser with no side effects.

Lip Gloss -MAC - underage lipglass
Aminsat 11/26/2004 8:59:00 PM
I used to really love this colour and thought it was such a pretty pale milky pink on me and went well with my medium toned skin. But after having switched to NARS Turkish Delight then MAC Morning Glory, I recently tried it again and have to say it looks way too pale and it's sticky. I don't know what happened, it used to be my HG, but now, just no :P. I still think it would be a cute pastel colour on people with medium to dark skintones or a tan/bronzer too.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 30
Aminsat 11/26/2004 8:31:00 PM
I was looking for a good non-greasy sunscreen that wouldn't irritate my skin and contained ingredients that protected against UVA as well as UVB rays (avobenzone, titanium dioxide or zinc oxide). I knew it was important to have sunscreen in my regimen but was always reluctant to try them because they were too greasy. When I saw that this contained Parsol 1789 (avobenzone) and was meant for combo/oily skintones, I gave it a try. I used to think I had to live with the greasiness in order to have sun protection, but I was wrong, it didn't look greasy on my skin and had a high SPF. The packaging is fairly nice, the price isn't so bad and it lasts long. I've been using this for a year now and haven't had any problems. Woohoo, now I can have good skin in the future without being greaseyface in the meantime:). I also tried the SPF 40 formula and it was pretty similar but it had a weird consistency, cream would come out in a pool of clear liquid, it was also a little more greasy. x)
