Skincare - Face -Ole Henriksen - Sheer Transformation Creme
AmbrosiaKisses 4/21/2013 5:06:00 PM
I've getting good results with this cream. It sits well on my skin and absorbs fairly quickly. I don't break out and it does a good job of moisturizing. I still get stubborn dry patches around some areas of my face during the winter, but it still works around the other areas of my face. I like that it's unscented and not greasy to the touch.

Cleansers -Ole Henriksen - African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser
AmbrosiaKisses 4/21/2013 5:01:00 PM
I have combination skin and most cleansers normally leave my skin flaky and dry. The African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser is gentle enough that my skin feels a lot less irritated than other products. It smells amazing, I love the scent and the ease of use. One pump is good enough for my entire face. I took off one lippie due to the packaging, I'm half way into it and having trouble with the mechanics of the pump.

Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Ageless Essentials Continuous Hydration Eye Cream
AmbrosiaKisses 5/30/2012 12:46:00 AM
Purchased this after reading great reviews, but unfortunately, it doesn't work well for me. It burns my eyes, I've tried it several times now and I can't seem to find a way around it. I also don't find it very effective in terms of hydration. I like the squeeze tube and the consistency of the cream. But I will no be repurchasing it.

Conditioner -The Body Shop - Rainforest Moisture Conditioner
AmbrosiaKisses 3/7/2012 11:07:00 PM
I haven't had much luck with the Rainforest Moisture Conditioner which is a shame, because I'm a HUGE fan of the discontinued Honey Moisture Conditioner which it replaced. The only thing thing I like about this product is the fresh scent. Overall, I find the product finicky to use. As someone mentioned, if you use too little, it doesn't detangle the hair enough. Use too much, it becomes a greasy and doesn't wash all out. I gave it away which pretty sums it up, I will not be repurchasing this product again.

Scrubs -The Body Shop - Chocomania Body Scrub
AmbrosiaKisses 3/7/2012 11:00:00 PM
I've tried The Body Shop's Strawberry and Satsuma Scrub, which I've both love - so when Chocomania scrub was announced - I knew I had to try it. It met every expectation! The scrub smells absolutely scrumptious. The scent isn't overly sweet or synthetic. The granules aren't very abrasive, but gentle and soothing. There are also oils in this product that leaves my skin really soft, I haven't checked the key ingredients, but it feels divine after a hot shower! Having said that though, I found my tub really slippery after use, so just be careful! My overall verdict, I will be repurchasing it!

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion
AmbrosiaKisses 3/7/2012 10:48:00 PM
I normally love Kiehl products, but the Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel lotion disappointing. I purchased the product without testing it out and now I have a bottle which I'm trying to use up. Overall, - The consistency is fine, it dries quickly and is lightweight - It's pretty much scentless - Does an okay job of moisturizing , perhaps, better for the spring and summer. I did not find it hydrating enough in the winter. - Easy to use packaging - Lastly, does not break out my skin. HOWEVER, the worst aspect of this lotion is that it STINGS when I get dry patches due to the cold winter months. I think there's a high alcohol content which I highly dislike. So if you have very sensitive skin, you may want to test out first. I will not be repurchasing it again.

Treatments (Eye) -Kiehls - Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
AmbrosiaKisses 12/5/2011 2:18:00 PM
I've been trying to use this product every night and so far, it's my favourite eye cream. I'm tried Boscia, Dior and L'Oreal in the past, but the other products always ended up irritating my eyes in the morning. With the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, nothing feels intrusive. I like the texture and consistency. However, I personally wouldn't be using it in the long term because there is no anti-aging agent. Which is unfortunate, because I'll be having to switch to a different product soon. If you're in the market for strictly a moisturizer for sensitive eyes, this could potentially be one of the best eye product.

Treatments -Kiehls - Midnight Recovery Concentrate
AmbrosiaKisses 12/5/2011 2:10:00 PM
I received 3 sample packs of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate after a purchase from Kiehls. Initially, I wasn't too impressed or interested in trying it out. I don't like serums or anything oily because it reminds me of clogged pores and an extra product on my face. However, giving in to curiosity and the rave reviews, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. I'm now on my last sample pack and I'll be purchasing a full bottle. I don't use it every night, alternating between Ole's Vitamin C Booster, and my skin honestly feels much softer, healthier and (could it be?) more radiant. I have a problem with uneven skin tone and this product seems to be combating the problem. I don't recommend using it alone (it's not a moisturizer), but a product that adds wonders to your routine.

Lip Treatments -La Mer - Lip Balm
AmbrosiaKisses 7/28/2011 3:31:00 AM
I received this as a very generous gift from my boyfriend and at first, I was reluctant to open it and use it. I didn't think it was worth the money for a lip balm and I wanted him to resell it since he couldn't return it. Thankfully, he refused and told me to keep it when I change my mind. Ironically, I was traveling alone and found myself in dire situation where my lips were incredibly chapped and cracked ( due to the below freezing temperatures at my location) and extremely painful. I tried Kiehls and another local brand they sold in that country, but it didn't help. Left with no options, I opened up La Mer and used the balm as a means to relief the dryness and pain. Instantly, I found myself discovering a HG lip product which soothed and healed. Within 3 days, my lips were NO longer red, peeled, swollen or cracked. The texture is a thick and waxy, it absorbs nicely into the lips and seems to work right away. I still think it's overpriced.... but I have to admit its extremely effective and a great product.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray
AmbrosiaKisses 7/13/2011 9:09:00 PM
A girlfriend and I each brought a bottle of the peppermint cooling foot spray with us for our European tour and it was an awesome product to have around. Our summer trip to the Mediterranean meant hot & sweaty feet, but the spray helped our aching and sore feet recovered quicker. It isn't a miracle product, however, the peppermint gives off a cooling sensation that can't be replace with any other product! I have to take off 1 lippie because it can get sticky if you don't wash it off and it only slightly masks the odour. We finished our bottle in 2.5 weeks and I wouldn't mind purchasing another bottle for a future walking intensive trips!

Treatments -Frederic Fekkai - Protein RX Anti-Breakage Treatment Mask
AmbrosiaKisses 5/27/2010 1:34:00 AM
I purchased the Treatment mask after having my hair highlighted + colored and really needed a boost to put back the shine. I did a search on MUA and based on the review decided to give it a go! Love the sweet scent of it and how it makes my hair feel. I use it once or twice a week after my conditioner. I just rub it into the ends and because I tend to have oily hair, I don't put it on my roots. A little gives a lot! I heard it's being discontinued at Sephora and couldn't find it at my local stores. Purchased it at Bath & Bodyworks when they have their $10 off promos and it only cost me $20. I highly recommend this product for those who want softer hair.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Incoco Dry Nail Applique
AmbrosiaKisses 2/11/2010 1:10:00 AM
I have tried, First Love (with the French Manicure strips), and I'm completely sold. They look natural and ridiculously polished for a Do-It-Yourself job. I always apply a top coat to seal everything and have had it last up to 2 weeks. My co-workers were so convinced that I had acrylic nails done because they looked really professionally they couldn't believe it was self-stick nail polish. The trick of making it completely wrinkle free is to do a really good job of pulling it all on corners as if its saran wrap. The only con is that the pinky strips were incredibly narrow and I couldn't use them. I hope Incoco decides to look into it. They are such a success that my friend is asking me to do her nails with these on her wedding day. They make a great base for also embellishing with konad nail art and rhinestones! I definitely recommend them for French Nails!

Tinted Moisturizer -Christian Dior - Hydraction Deep Hydration Skin Tint SPF 20 [DISCONTINUED]
AmbrosiaKisses 1/12/2010 1:00:00 AM
This product is a disappointment to me. It's extremely sheer and although its advertised as Deep Hydration, it makes my skin look really dry and patchy. It was quite expensive and I'll try to finish the tube and use it as a light foundation suncreen because it has SPF20. I'm wearing it as a highlighter but it's not even that flattering. The color which was closest to my skin looks too orangey and such a flat tone. Not my favourite product and I will not be repurchasing it again.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
AmbrosiaKisses 1/12/2010 12:52:00 AM
I normally don't like wearing foundation because I find it too cakey and orangey (think MAC) on me, but the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation is a dream texture! I have combination skin, very dry after I wash my face but oily throughout the day and this product just worked perfectly for me. It's very light and provides medium to light coverage. Looks quite natural and blends in beautifully for a near flawless complexion. I always set it with NARS powder. The texture of the foundation is also very liquidy but dries quickly. A little goes a long way! My only peeve is that the bottle is going to get tricky to use when there's not much left. I really wish they had included a pump on this one! Update May/29/2010: I still love this foundation, however, as I near the end of the bottle ... I really hate that it doesn't come with a pump. When I'm traveling, I find it inconvenient to bring and pouring the bottle out has caked the sides with foundation I could have saved. NARS please put a pump on this one! I will even pay extra to buy it separately.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash pink grapefruit foaming scrub
AmbrosiaKisses 1/12/2010 12:45:00 AM
Lovely scent, but not my favourite face wash. I only have 1/4 left, but I'm trying to finish it before switching to another line. I absolutely love Neutrogena foaming scrubs, but found the Grapefruit one of the few bad products because it's so dry and irritating. It leaves my skin feeling itchy and it stings during the Winter. I would not purchase this again.
