Blush -MAC - Prism
rated 5 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 3/8/2012 5:22:00 PM

In the pan this blush looks boring and plain. It's a very natural pinkish nude. My coloring in MAC is NC42 and this blush still shows up. It's very flattering and easy to wear. Great to wear with a dramatic smoky eye or bright lips. Lovely for everyday wear. This may not last long with oily skin, a primer is recommended. If you're thinking of getting it go for it, it's become an everyday staple for me.

Blush -Hard Candy - Fox in A Box - Skinny Dipping

This blush is great, very bright but compliments my NC42 complexion. It's a bright peachy-coral blush and a pinkish-brown bronzer with silver micro-glitter. Not shimmery or frosty, just a nice healthy sheen. It's actually very pigmented when compared to other drugstore brands. This has become an everyday staple in my routine. I've received many compliments while wearing this too. Provides the perfect glow Overall I'm very satisfied. I paid $6 for this at Wal-Mart.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Foundation brush

I don't use this for foundation, I find that it streaks too much. This brush is great for applying masks especially if you don't want to get your hands dirty. I have used it to apply a honey mask and it worked perfectly. :]

Lips -Unlisted Brand - Perfectly Pure - Vitamin E Moisturizing Stick

AmazinglyUnamazing 6/20/2010 7:21:00 AM

I just bought this last night at Wal-Mart for about a dollar and eight cents. After one try, I really loved it. I used it on both my lips and eyes. I found my lips to smoothed and moisturized unlike any other lip balm I've tried. As for an eye treatment, it works perfectly for me. I'm young so I don't need too much to help me prevent fine lines. This has helped clear my dark circles a little and my fine lines. I'm so happy to find something that actually works. Anyway. The packaging, I like it. It's like a twist up lipstick. It's rounded and has a pointed tip. Perfect to use when applying to your eyes or lips. BUT I really hate the fact that it does not go all the way down. Meaning you can hit the stick if you're not careful. Other than that, this product is a must try. :]

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Prince Matchabelli- Cotton Candy Cologne Spray
rated 5 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 6/5/2010 8:12:00 AM

I love this perfume a lot. I wish I could find it more often. I can only find the deodorant spray which makes me very sad. I was first captivated when one of my guy friends picked it up when we were in the make-up isle of Wal-Mart. I panicked when he came closer, afraid he was going to spray me. And of course he did, I screamed but as I began to smell it. I was in heaven. I absolutely think this is one of the best Cotton Candy fragrances ever created. It's sweet, but I don't find it overly sweet. The notes of strawberry, vanilla, raspberry, and sugar help to create the perfect scent of Cotton Candy. I immediately picked up one of the bottles and headed to the register. That's how much I loved it. My boyfriend also loves it, he says it's a nice change from my usual scent.

Lips -E.L.F. - Therapeutic Conditioning Lip Balm - Strawberry Creme
rated 5 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 4/2/2010 9:36:00 PM

I remember trying this about two years ago. It was the old formula, I remembered it to be very grainy when applied and appeared more white on my lips. I didn't continue to use I just tossed it. So I saw this again two years later, looked at the tube. It looked different so I decided I would give it another chance. I'm really glad I did. I use this every night before I go to bed and my lips are really soft the next morning. The feeling of this feels more oily than waxy as other users have said. If it feels heavy, then dab it on instead of liberally sliding it across your lips. You really don't need that much, a little really does go a long way with this balm. As for the smell, it does smell like Strawberry and it's not grainy at all. I will definitely buy this again when I run out, it's so cheap.

Blush -E.L.F. - Shimmering Facial Whip
rated 5 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 3/31/2010 8:11:00 PM

A lot of people have had so much problems with this product and complained about it as well. I was honestly afraid to try it because of this. But I still decided to try it, I'm really glad I did. I bought this in Golden Peach, which a beautiful golden honey color. It is much lighter than the All Over Color Stick in Golden Peach. The color in the tube is comparable to E.L.F's Tinted Moisturizer in Honey or Tone 2. Now the shimmer, I don't find it to be metallic at all like other have mentioned. Perhaps it is because I only use a tiny dot, the size of a dress makers pin or the size of the ball at the tip of the pin on each cheek. I find that this beautifully highlights my cheekbones, not with noticeable glitter but rather fine shimmer. This is such a wonderful product, it is so versatile. You can use it by mixing with your foundation to add a dewy glow. Add shimmer to your eyes, or even mix with a matte lipstick. I find that Toasted, and Golden Peach are perfect for mixing with your body lotion to add a beautiful glow to your skin. Perfect for those special occasions. Amazing product for such a small price. I will definitely buy this again.

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Hypershine Lip Gloss - Fairy
rated 5 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 3/31/2010 7:18:00 PM

I honestly doubted that this gloss was going to be any good. Especially since the other color I bought, Flirt was rather sticky and smelt a bit weird. The color was that pigmented either, although it was a beautiful pink with a bit of orange to it, it just showed up like a clear gloss with just a tiny bit of color. Now, with Fairy it is a different story. I find it not to be sticky at all, but it does adhere to my lips very well. When my lips are pressed together it doesn't feel like they're glued together like Flirt. Fairy is also pigmented which I did not expect. It's a really beautiful pearl pink with a mix of lavender color that has a luminous sheen to it. It is simply breathtaking, I haven't really owned a color like this. I will definitely buy this again if I ever run out. It looks wonderful on my lips. Perhaps I will try Honey as well.

Blush -E.L.F. - All Over Color Stick in Golden Peach
rated 4 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 3/31/2010 6:15:00 AM

Although this tube is tiny, it packs a punch because you only need to use a small amount. In the tube I received I would describe it as the red tone on a yellow peach's skin, mixed in with a tiny hit of gold as well as some pink. Thus the name golden peach. The shimmer is beautiful in this, it shows up as gold, pink, and a rust like red. It looks beautiful on the cheeks as well as a base for pink, copper, red, gold, and brown shadows. However, I wouldn't recommend to use this on your lips. I find that the product is a bit hard while applying with your fingertips, and I also find it to be dry in texture. Definitely not something you want on your lips. Overall, great product. Nice concept, perfect for traveling. Dirt cheap, a dollar (USD). However I do not like the smell. I really don't get why E.L.F has to put fragrance into their cosmetics especially in their facial products. I recommend this to everyone.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
rated 4 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 3/31/2010 6:00:00 AM

This brush is amazing, I always reach for this brush to apply powder or even liquid foundation. The bristles are very soft, as expected of talkon, which is a man-made fiber that is cruelty free. What a bonus! Applying powder foundation is a dream with this brush, it provides even and almost flawless coverage (being realistic here, unless you've got absolutely perfect skin) for me without being heavy and cakey. This brush is also perfect for applying liquid foundation, it is better than any foundation brush I have used. I would recommend getting two so you don't have to clean your brushes in between applications of liquid and powder foundations, it can be such a hassle if you're in a rush. Overall, this is a really nice brush. The price is beautiful as well, only three dollars for this? My face was in heaven while I swirled the bristles atop my face I almost feel asleep! I have paid much more money in the past for other brushes, but this is by far on of the most valuable. I mean three dollars (USD), that's a steal. I'm pretty much paying for like four brushes in one (powder, blush, foundation, kabuki) which would probably equal a high price tag as many other users know what I'm talking about. The packaging is simple, just your standard flat top brush. I haven't experienced shedding nor bleeding. So if you're looking for an awesome brush, I really recommend you give this a try. If you don't like it, someone else could. UPDATE: I've washed it a couple of times now. And every time I wash it, more bristles come out. That's really a disappointment. Especially since the Total Face Brush from E.L.F's one dollar line doesn't do that. I'm going to have to bring the rating down by one.

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Clarifying Pressed Powder
rated 4 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 3/21/2010 5:47:00 AM

I remember trying this powder about two years ago in Tone 2, now known as Honey. I was pretty ecstatic to find a pressed powder that was only one dollar. So I bought it, tried it, and was disappointed. It made me look orange, like I had a fake tan. Ew. So later I decided to give this powder another try, but in a lighter shade, Tone 1 or Apricot Beige. This time it was perfect. I used a brush to apply it, which gave it a more natural appearance. It controls oil fairly well, but what's ironic is the fact that it contains mineral oil and it is rather high on the ingredient list. Funny, this is a clarifying pressed powder filled with beneficial ingredients? Reading the ingredients label, I could see that it was pure bs. I could have sued them for false advertisement. But I didn't especially since this powder looked amazing. Other than that, overall I would rate this a four. Nice coverage, can't really feel it on my skin, didn't accentuate my pores, didn't break out from it. Except I despise that there is fragrance and mineral oil in this. Also there is nothing beneficial in it for your skin. But it's cheap, it works, can't complain much there. The packaging is simple, a cheap plastic container with no mirror. I have no problem with that, never experienced it breaking. I prefer its simple package design, I'd rather pay for the product, instead of paying a ridiculous high price for fancy packaging and getting a crappy product.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Professional Bronzing Brush
rated 3 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 3/21/2010 5:27:00 AM

This brush is okay. Maybe not the best for those who have a light hand while applying blush or bronzer, or any type of blush or bronzer that is pressed in a compact. I think this brush is perfect for those that have trouble applying blush or bronzer lightly. I also find this perfect for picking up loose blush or bronzer. Its shape is very forgiving and flimsy. However I did not find it to be scratchy at all. If your brushes are rough, try cleaning them with EVOO and dish soap, the EVOO will help to condition your brushes and clean them. I also didn't experience shedding as other reviewers observed. Overall, I like it. To use it I just scrunch the brush together close to the base to make it more firm, and it helps to pick up the color. I would I buy it again? Nah, I'll save my dollar to invest in a better brush. But I am satisfied with it.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
rated 2 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 3/21/2010 4:57:00 AM

I remember wearing this lip balm a year ago, when I was a sophomore. I thought it was pretty awesome, it moisturized, smelled pleasant, and had a comfortable feel to it. I recently stopped using it last year because I eventually found something better since I noticed my lips were become rather dry and chapped although I was using it loyally, applying whenever needed. The culprit? The cooling effect, we all know it feels pretty cool. Except the ingredient causing that tingly effect was what made my lips chapped and dry. It was the peppermint. Sad to say, I couldn't continue using it. My lips couldn't handle it. Too bad, I really liked the fact that it was made with natural ingredients. Overall, this is an okay product. Good for a quick fix, but not something I'd suggest using in the long run. As for the price, I paid around three to four dollars, that's pretty expensive considering it's a lipbalm. The packaging was just your standard chapstick container, made out of recycled materials. Would I recommend to a friend? Sure, if I wanted to ruin their lips. On a side note, I really can't stand the other lipbalms available in this brand. I have tried both the honey and pomegranate balm. I find both to have repulsive smell, especially the honey balm. It gave me a terrible headache and immediately went into the trash. :[

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lemon Juice
rated 4 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 3/16/2010 3:02:00 AM

Lemon juice works wonders, it has many different uses. Such as; bleaching hair, fading scars, lightening skin, and cleansing. I personally love using lemon juice on my face, as it has helped my skin to clear up and appear brighter. I also used to use this to clear buildup in my hair, it works very well with that. All you need is a half cup of water, one lemon, and two bowls. After shampooing and conditioning, you just pour it over your hair and catch it in a bowl again. Then repeat. You can also use it to lighten your hair as a cheaper and safer alternative to chemical bleach. How light you want your hair will determine how concentrated the lemon juice will be. All you need to do is rinse it with the lemon juice and sit under the sun for a couple of minutes. You will instantly get lighter hair and it'll be less damaged. As a facial toner, this works incredibly fast. It is such a cheap and easy alternative to the toners available in both department stores and drugstores. I have tried many and they all have seemed to fail me. So one day I decided, why not use lemon juice on my face? And so I did, it did indeed sting simply because I used freshly squeezed concentrated lemon juice. But within a week I saw results. My skin tone was much more even and brighter. Although I did not love the stinging effect, it also produced an irritating itch that no matter how much you scratched would never go away, unless you washed it off or waited for it to dry. I eventually strayed off of it because of that. And of course, a couple months later I returned to it. This time, I created a better toner. Which consisted of a third cup of witch hazel, a half cup of lemon juice, one fourth purified water, seven drops of tea tree oil and 7 drops of vitamin E. It only stings when it is applied over any open cysts or cuts. Other than that, this seems pretty gentle to me. I don't have sensitive skin so it may be different for others. I really recommend storing this in the fridge as it will last longer and feel refreshing. I also recommend this toner for those who have oily skin. But please remember to wear sunscreen with SPF 30+ whenever you are planning to go out in the sun, as the natural acids expose the new layer of skin which is much more sensitive to the UVA/UVB rays.

Powder -NYX - Twin Cake
rated 4 of 5
AmazinglyUnamazing 12/19/2009 7:27:00 AM

The quote on the box is right. This is one of the best powder foundations that I have ever used. I got this in Medium Beige (CP14). NYX also has a wide range of colors, from the lightest of the bunch to the most richest chocolates (It comes in twenty-two different shades!). This product is amazing, I love that it can conceal, serve as a foundation and powder, all in one convenient compact. To me, the compact itself looks a little weird, it's pretty thick. Makes you think there is a lot of product in it, there is a lot, a little goes a long way with the this. But the main reason why this compact is thick is because of the separate layer that holds the sponge for applying the powder. Isn't that smart? Helps to keep your foundation free from contamination. Personally, I never really used the sponge. It is much better to use a brush with this product, it can get a bit heavy. In using a brush, you will cover more of your face with less product, without making it feel overly heavy. It is very important that your skin will be able to breathe or you will sweat a lot, especially in hot weather. I really recommend using this during the winter, if you have oily skin. Those with oily skin will have a problem with this product during hot weather, it will turn your face into a greasy mess. So beware. It also contains mineral oil. For me that is a problem, I have acne prone skin, but that's nothing a good cleanser can't take care of. Be sure to wash your face well when using this product! It may clog your pores. The lasting power was okay, I'd say about four hours or less, it usually depends on what kind of day you're having (I don't use a primer so that must be why ;P). You do need to touch it up a few times, but it takes nothing more than a couple swipes and your face will look fresh again. But before doing that. Make sure you blot to remove excess oil, remember to keep those blotting sheets handy! I didn't notice any weird oxidization while using this, so it's all g in that area. The only downside is I have to order this online (Don't know about you guys, but I live in Hawaii so my selection is limited. The only store that carries it on Kauai is Longs Drugs. The one that is closest to me only sells eyeshadows, lipsticks, pencils, and mascara. If I wanna buy anything else. I have to drive a couple miles more into the next town! D:< ), so it's hard to pick the right shade the first time. The swatches on the official NYX website suck, as well as the ones on Cherry Culture! It is also a bit pricey for me considering the fact that I'm still in high school and don't have a job. It runs at $14 (USD) on the official website, and for $12 (USD) on Cherry Culture. If you search hard enough, you could possibly find other sites that carries NYX products for cheap. I usually order my stuff from Pinkholik.com. They don't carry everything from the NYX line, but they have the popular things for cheap. ;3 Gotta love that! Nice prices, fast shipping, and well packaged when your order is shipped. Unlike Cherry Culture, which packaged my order badly and made a mess of one of my eyeshadows that I was looking forward to trying. :l Oh yeah, the customer service is really good, which is also a plus. :D They also carry body oil roll ons. They have many popular fragrances for both men and women for only $3 (USD). They also smell exactly like the fragrances. I ordered Victoria's Secret's Very Sexy for Her and Juicy Couture, and it smelt just like it. At first it was strong but all you need to do is dab it onto your pecs and rub your wrists on it to help spread it around evenly and viola! You smell lovely. :D
