Lipstick -Korres - Mango Butter Lipstick in Natural Pink 13
AmandaPayge 3/27/2012 12:28:00 PM
This is a great lipstick. I hate the dryness that comes with wearing lipstick, but this is so moisturizing that it almost feels like a balm. The color was beautiful and made my lips look plump and peachy-pink - very natural. The shine was beautiful. The only downside is that I have to reapply every one-two hours but I love doing it so it's not really a bother. I'm definitely getting another when I go through this one.

Polishes -OPI - The Muppets Collection - Warm & Fozzie
AmandaPayge 3/16/2012 3:44:00 PM
Oh, wow, do I love this! I've seen swatch after swatch of this and it always looked pretty to me, but I have tons of browns and taupes so I've been putting it off. I finally broke down and got it because I was looking for a summer polish and saw it in person! OMG. It is such a complicated color. It's certainly not 'brown' or 'gold' or 'orange' but a lovely mix of all those colors plus some you can't really put your finger on. The finished product, which took 2 coats, was so gorgeous! I could really kick myself for not getting it sooner. I change my polish daily but I didn't need to. I work in a bank and do a lot of typing and writing but there wasn't even the tiniest chip or edge wear. This is definitely in my top 10 colors!

Concealers -Kat Von D - Tattoo Concealer
AmandaPayge 3/16/2012 2:40:00 PM
This is one of the few products that I would call one of my HG's. I am always on the lookout for newer and better but I have a feeling that my wandering is at an end for concealer. I am very fair and the lightest shade is perfect for me. I don't have undereye circles but this makes my face look so bright and awake when I dab a little, (a very little), under my eyes. There is no caking or creasing and it's very blendable. I have a freckle on my cheek that I usually cover but it always peeks through a little bit until now. It is 100% and completely gone after I put this on it. This tube should last for at least 2 or 3 years. You only need the tiniest bit and it works wonders. AND....it's in a squeeze tube!! I am a huge fan of anything in a squeeze tube. It seems more sanitary and you can get all of the product out. This one can't miss and is worth every penny. Love it!

Lipstick -Kat Von D - Homegirl
AmandaPayge 3/16/2012 2:22:00 PM
If you want a long-wearing, practically black lipstick then here you go. This came in a set so I wouldn't give a low rating to a product because I personally did not like the color. It came with 'Lolita' and 'Hellbent' and I am very, very happy with both of those. The main reason I even bothered to review is because on several swatches online, it seems to be more berry than it actually is and I appreciate finding out that a swatch can be deceiving before I buy a product. I thought it looked hideous, on me. Lots of women can rock that almost black color and if you can, this is for you. If you were to kiss a napkin, it would look berry but at a casual glance, it really does look black.

Lipstick -Kat Von D - Foiled Love Lipstick - Beranice
AmandaPayge 3/16/2012 2:00:00 PM
I wish the Overall Rating went to 100 instead of 5. I love this lipstick more than any I have ever used in my life and trust me, that is a lot of lipstick. I think in the cosmetic world, there are few things that thrill me more than finding a perfect red lipstick. This would include ALL of the following things: 1. LONG LASTING WITHOUT FEATHERING. 2. A shimmery finish. 3. No waxy smell. 4. Easy to apply without the use of a brush. Not only did this lipstick meet all of these requirements but it was in a kitchy, silvery, sexy tube that was just edgy and fabulous. I knew by looking at it that it wasn't a matte (THANK GOD), but I didn't expect it to transform my lips into a satiny marvel! It felt light and not at all heavy and it stained, which I love, and lasted all day. No feathering at all - not even a TINY bit. And it just glided on straight out of the tube and looked perfect. I didn't have to use a liner or brush. I did, just out of habit but in a rush, slicked on out of the tube would be fine. Get this. Get this! Get as many as you can find in case they discontinue. I'm going to hoard them like crazy.

Eye Shadow -Kat Von D - Metal Orchestra Palette
AmandaPayge 3/16/2012 1:52:00 PM
I love this. I got it yesterday to complete my Kat Von D collection and I am very happy with it. I am not overly fond of blue shadows but these are very blendable and look fantastic with the silver and pewters. I know reviewers of other palettes weren't happy about another matte black but personally, I like having one in each palette. It keeps me from having to look for a black in other palettes which I would have to do because black is a staple I use daily. Lucifer is one of the best blacks I've ever tried so I love it. The only complaint I have - and the reason for the loss of a lippie - is the Slayer cream. I was super excited about having that dazzling silver cream to use as a highlighter! I was even openminded enough to expect it to dry out in a few weeks, but I never got to wear it even once! It came out of the box hard and crumbly. I did get this from an online order at Sephora.com so if you purchase in the store you can check this out yourself and maybe get a little use out of the creams while they're still new and lovely. *Sigh* Overall, I love it and would say it's my second favorite Kat palette, the first being Poetica.

Eye Primer -Kat Von D - High Voltage Eye Primer
AmandaPayge 3/16/2012 1:10:00 PM
I was surprised to see how much the reviews varied for this. Personally, I liked it. I have been using Too Faced Shadow Insurance for months and since that is so thin, it was an experiment to see how a thicker primer would work for me. I have it in 'Skin' and I love how perfect my lids look after applying. It was the exact color to match my skin. The translucency of Shadow Insurance is one reason I looked for a primer that had a fleshy tint to correct any redness on my lids. I was a little concerned originally about the slight tugging I had to do to cover my lid but I didn't use enough product the first time and tried to spread it too thin. After using a bit more, it spread more easily. I use a wide range of shadows - all brands in shimmers, mattes and foils and I have had no creasing or fading at all. I really couldn't tell the difference between this primer and any others I use, except it was a few bucks cheaper. It could stand to be the tiniest bit thinner and I am a big fan of the squeeze tube of Too Faced as opposed to this method (which is why I never repurchased the Primer Potion from UD), but overall I liked it. The only reason I wouldn't repurchase would be if I were to find something better as I love experimenting with different brands and rarely buy the same thing twice.

Lips -Maybelline - Color Sensational Lipstain
AmandaPayge 8/26/2010 1:04:00 PM
I bought this based solely on the ad in Vogue magazine because I was so in love with the model's petal pink lips that I ran out and swooped it up without giving a thought that it really might look different on me. Now, we all know that nothing in a magazine is really how it is going to look on "real" people but it was very, very dark berry. Not a little darker but much, much darker. I ended up liking it because occasionally I do love dark colors and the staying power and ease of application was great. Plus it didn't dry out my lips. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the color itself but I take responsibility for that. I may try another color.

Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Moisture Wrap Daily Repair Body Lotion
AmandaPayge 3/1/2010 10:48:00 AM
I have winter skin and my back itches like crazy in cold weather. I have tried every lotion known to man but after an hour or two, I always start itching again. I bought this just because Neutrogena has made products I like before and I'm always looking for something new. The first time I used it, I noticed a change but the second time I had no itchy skin all day. I've been using it daily for about 2 weeks now and my skin feels just like it does in summer! Smooth and soft and no itching at all. Love this!! My HG!!! A bit pricey but worth every penny.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Inis Arose
AmandaPayge 3/1/2010 10:43:00 AM
I recently went to Ireland and I saw this perfume sold at many different places. I was torn between the original Inis and Inis Arose and decided to go with this one. I love florals on other people but never found one that worked for me until now. I just love it and it reminds me of Ireland every time I smell it. It's not overpowering at all, just light and fresh. I think when I run out, I will try the original but this was a lovely perfume and I'll never get tired of it.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Urban Ammo Eye Palette
AmandaPayge 2/2/2010 2:10:00 PM
I love the UD palettes and this was my first one. I've had it about a year and other than Polyester Bride, I am crazy about it. There is just too much glitter in that one for me and I'm not a fan of white shadows. My favorites are Smog and Sin but all of the colors are beautiful. Might or might not buy again...not because of the product but because it would take me 100 years to go through all the shadows I have accumulated. I love Urban Decay!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Expressions Eyeshadow Palette - Sand Castle - 396 [DISCONTINUED]
AmandaPayge 1/29/2010 9:26:00 PM
I can't remember the last time I looked at a Wet 'N' Wild display and I really feel stupid right about now. I read several reviews about the "Greed" palette and thought it was gorgeous so I went to my local drug stores on a hunt for it. Alas, none of them had those but I did find this at Rite Aid and I just fell in love with it. The colors are just as blendable and pigmented as a lot of higher priced shadows. In fact, I was playing around with some Urban Decay shadows on one eye and this on the other and you could never tell which was which. I don't think I've ever been so surprised by a product. This was quite a find and I will be singing W 'N' W's praises for a long time!

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lipstick in Rosy Nude
AmandaPayge 1/29/2010 9:05:00 PM
I was perusing the lipsticks in my local Rite Aid and these little black, quilted numbers caught my eye. Being the nude lip color fanatic that I am, I had to have this. My lips felt soft and moisturized and the color was gorgeous on it's own without a gloss or liner. It is very rare that I can wear a lipstick straight from the tube and love it. My lips are a bit on the dark pink side and the color matched perfectly but gave them a pretty mauvey look that I love. (And I love how it has Revlon carved into the lipstick...packaging freak here.)

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Airy Fairy
AmandaPayge 1/29/2010 5:15:00 PM
I love this almost as much as my NYX Thalia. I can understand why some reviewers aren't happy with it because it does look better on olive skin tones. I am very fair but with NYX Goddess of the Night gloss in Natural over it, I like it very much. Pinky nudes are my favorite lip color and this is a little more pink than I'd normally like but it was a nice change. And the tube is on the plump side so it feels like a big lipstick...just kind of fun.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
AmandaPayge 1/27/2010 3:24:00 PM
I bought this is in Cream Light (4-5) and I am crazy about it! I keep several powders in my makeup case but I keep this one in my purse. The Rimmel Stay Matte powder is great too but it's too difficult to carry around. The Dream Matte powder just erases shine and leaves my forehead and nose looking great. I agree with a recent post about making sure not to overapply as it can look chalky but other than that, I love it!
