Blush -Senna - Clarity
AlyHeartsYou 8/16/2012 5:19:00 AM
This is my favorite blush right now. I can't get enough of it. It was released with the Mod Muse collection. The color is a very bright coral. If you're fair use a light hand - it's VERY pigmented. This shade is also matte so if you have large pores or just don't like sparkly blush you'll like that. The color is very long lasting even in hot, sweaty weather. I wore this blush every day for 4 days in Vegas and it held up great!!!

Lips -Senna - lip lacquer
AlyHeartsYou 8/16/2012 5:15:00 AM
I have about a dozen of these. They are extremely pigmented, very shiny, and last for HOURS. They're a tiny bit sticky (and some moreso than others for whatever reason), but so well worth it for a gloss that truly lasts. If you like pinky-gold shades (a la MAC Nymphette) try Meltdown.

Concealers -Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Concealer
AlyHeartsYou 8/16/2012 5:11:00 AM
I like the shade range. I have both R0 and Y0. R0 is perfect for covering circles and brightening my eyes. Y0 is a better color for red spots (the yellowy beige undertones help neutralize the color). The concealer is similar to MAC Studio Fix, but not cakey or as heavy. I like to blend this out with a dual fiber eye brush for the best results. This concealer is not my HG yet, but it's pretty awesome. For shade reference I wear MUFE HD 110 or MAC Studio Fix powder in N3.

Lipstick -Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Lip Tar - Radiate
AlyHeartsYou 8/16/2012 5:05:00 AM
Radiate is a blazingly bright reddish coral. As with all lip tars it's extremely pigmented, so a little goes a long way. This latest version of the lip tar packaging is fantastic as it addressed the leaking tube issue. Lip tars aren't drying per se, but they aren't moisturizing either. I recommend applying a balm, blotting it, then applying your lip tar with a brush. Don't feel confined to a lip brush either. Sometimes a slanted eyeliner brush works best.

Treatments -Murad - Acne Spot Treatment
AlyHeartsYou 8/16/2012 5:01:00 AM
I got a little sample tube of this, and it works great. The little tube will last me a long time because you only need the teensiest bit. Really helps clear up breakouts fast. Only thing I would change about it is the smell. It has sulphur in it, which smells pretty gross. But hey it works, so I can deal with that. I'd definitely repurchase.

Treatments -Seche Vite - Rebuild
AlyHeartsYou 7/4/2010 3:38:00 AM
This stuff is a must have if you have weak nails that break easily. I could feel a difference right away. I use it as a base coat and can definitely see that my nails are stronger. It looks cloudy in the bottle but dries totally clear. I believe it's about $10. If you have brittle nails, try it. I'm kind of clumsy and I stub my toes a lot, often resulting in split toenails. Ouch! I plan on using this on my toes next to strengthen them!

Shampoo -Organix - Acai Berry Avocado Shampoo
AlyHeartsYou 5/25/2010 1:10:00 AM
Okay first of all I think this may have been reformulated or the person below me got a bad bottle. I don't notice any "pulpy" texture at all? It's just creamy and smooth like any other shampoo. It smells wonderful, so fruity-- very "berry". The lather is FANTASTIC considering this is a sulfate free shampoo. Most of the sulfate free shampoos I try are thin, runny, and don't have much lather. This lathers up a treat! The only reason this is a 4 out of 5 is because it's not quite as moisturizing ("moisturous"? wtf @ review below me) as you would think a shampoo containing avocado and argan oil would be. However I would call this more of a 4.5 than a 4. Anyways, hair is left feeling clean, and my scalp likes it. I have very sensitive skin on my scalp so a shampoo that doesn't aggravate it is always a winner. As far as my hair type, it's fine but I have a lot of it, I color, and it's what I would call "normal"-- not particularly dry or oily. I would definitely buy this again! I think for such a large quantity (the bottle has like 13 oz in it!) the price of $7 is fine.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Honey I Washed the Kids soap
AlyHeartsYou 5/15/2010 3:41:00 PM
This is my favorite LUSH soap and the only one I purchased after using several samples of others. Smells good, lathers REALLY well, and keeps me clean. Unlike other LUSH products, SO actually doesn't mind the smell (which is saying a lot, because he hated the other stuff!).

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Cyndi [DISCONTINUED]
AlyHeartsYou 5/15/2010 3:32:00 PM
Cyndi is one of the most unique lipsticks MAC has released in a while. It's a sheer (but buildable) pinky coral red that looks very unique but flattering on just about everyone. It's so pretty and unique among my other lipsticks that I swapped for a backup, and I normally do not believe in backups. If you're even thinking about getting this, GO try it ON. If you look at 15 pictures of it on 15 different people, it will probably look slightly different in every photo. Don't judge it based on how it looks on others. Go try it on for yourself! You'll love it.

Cleansers -Philosophy - the microdelivery exfoliating wash
AlyHeartsYou 5/15/2010 3:28:00 PM
Very gentle and effective scrubby cleanser. My skin handles it just fine, even with every day use. Doesn't strip/dry out my skin at all and a bottle will last you ages because you don't need much at a time. Not my favorite in the world, but definitely on my list of cleansers I like a lot.

Mascara -Maybelline - Pulse Perfection™ by Define-A-Lash® Vibrating Mascara ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
AlyHeartsYou 5/15/2010 3:24:00 PM
To quote Randy Jackson "it was just ok for me, dog". The vibrations don't seem to really do anything to make this mascara any better than average on me. I do find though with Maybelline mascaras especially that they get better as they get a little older, so I tucked this away in a drawer to try again later when it has a chance to dry out a little.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
AlyHeartsYou 5/15/2010 3:18:00 PM
This cleanser is great. It really gets *everything* off (even sunscreen and waterproof makeup) without stripping my skin. I'm on my second bottle of it. My only gripe is that I wish it had come in a pump bottle instead of a fliptop. No big issue though; I just decanted mine into a pump bottle from Target that I got for a dollar. I really like using Purity with my Clarisonic for a very thorough cleanse and exfoliation. It's the perfect consistency for use with the Clarisonic. If you're looking for a cleanser to use with yours, try out Purity! I highly recommend if you are thinking of trying it to get the $10 small bottle from Sephora, because it's cheaper and will still last you a long, LONG time. A little goes a long way with this cleanser!

Tinted Moisturizer -E.L.F. - Tinted Moisturizer Spf 15
AlyHeartsYou 5/15/2010 4:27:00 AM
I'm kind of surprised at myself here, but I actually love this product. Once ELF reformulated from their Tone 1, Tone 2, Tone 3 color system to the new shades, their face products improved dramatically. The Ivory shade works fine for me (I'm approximately nw10, MUFE HD 110). I love how smoothly it goes on, and it's not too yellow or orange. It evens out my complexion nicely and is not greasy. The smell is my favorite part, haha. It smells like a creamsicle, which I love love love love. So if fragrance isn't your thing, avoid this. But if you don't mind, you just might really like ELF's TM. I don't think it's really strong, and it does dissipate after a while, so unless you're really sensitive to fragrances you can probably handle it. I am well into my first tube and have already purchased a second to stock up. :) Great for those days when you just want something to even you out. I pair it with the complexion perfection powder (HG status).

Treatments -Zapzyt - 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Treatment Gel
AlyHeartsYou 5/15/2010 4:12:00 AM
We've all been there, staring at the products on the shelves wondering "which one of these MIGHT actually help my acne?" I decided to take a chance after having such a dilemma late at night in my neighborhood Rite Aid. Nothing like a midnight zit crisis. This stuff is fantastic. It's SO cheap and SO effective. I like it better than Clean & Clear, which is okay, but more expensive and not quiiiite as effective. I notice an immediate drying and shrinking effect on pimples, even the cystic kind. Over night the difference is even more dramatic. This is an aggressive treatment (10% BP is really quite high, more than twice the recommended 2.5%) but it really really works. Keep in mind...this works partially by drying out the pimple. If your skin is already dry, this may be semi-devastating to the "eco system" of your skin's natural balance and you will need extra moisture in the places where you use this! It could also be potentially irritating because again, this is a very aggressive % of benzoyl peroxide. However, if you're at your wit's end with acne and looking for a cheap equivalent to a nuke bomb, try Zapzyt!

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Yummy yummy yummy
AlyHeartsYou 5/6/2010 1:27:00 PM
I'm torn. The formula itself is lovely. I didn't find mine runny at all. It was creamy, just as something called a "shower cream" should be. I got mine direct from the UK though, so maybe it's slightly different. I love how smooth and creamy this stuff is, and how it doesn't irritate my skin at all-- a problem I have a lot. It's very moisturizing, too. The problem is...my god, the smell. It's VERY fragrant and the smell lingers. Oh, the smell. I love strawberries, but this did not smell like strawberries at all. It smelled like heavy perfume with some kind of nutty end note that didn't sit well. I tried to make the best of it but I really can't handle it, and my boyfriend was less tolerant of it than I was. As great as this made my skin feel, I can't use something that smells this bad.
