Fragrances -Kenzo - Kenzo Amour Indian Holi (Limited Edition)

Very interesting, beautiful perfume! I tried it on from what turned out to be the store's one and only bottle--the tester which was illegal to sell--and fell in love! A delicately powdery spicey vanilla, mixed with soft. mysterious notes, hard to separate and define. A modest sweetness, complimenting the other parts perfectly. The sample I spritzed on lasted all day and lingered even after my shower that evening...not in an overbearing way, just gently, like a good friend. Ordered 2 bottles online to stock up, knowing that it was a limited edition. Still seems pretty easy to get, thankfully :-)

It's late March but I'll be loving this "holiday" fragrance all year! Like others, wish I'd bought more to stock up. It's a pure, sweet scent...just a touch of the fruity apple note, that balances the sweetness perfectly. Very girly, fresh, and upbeat. I feel cheery and lighthearted every time I spritz it on! It's lightness is not a quick fade, thankfully--I smell its happy sweetness for hours. This is one of the few perfumes I never get bored with. A true favorite!
Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Angel Eau De Parfum

Loving the angel-winged bottle, I tested this fragrance without knowing anything about it...and was delighted by a sweet, very soft amber essence, layered intriguingly with powdery gentle muskiness...LOVELYand my new top favorite!
Pulse is an unexpectedly soft, gentle, interesting combo of pear-dominated tropical fruitiness that quickly blends to a luscious powdery sweet vanilla--tinged with a hint of fresh pear. Just lovely! My newest signature scent :-) It's heavenly!
Sampled (and ended up buying) this today...I'm definitely a fan! I just realized that it smells like a gentle version of Hanae Morae, which I Love, but it gets too overpowering as it develops. Charmed Life is a refreshingly light, sweet vanilla--not yet another buttery, brown sugary warm vanilla, thank goodness. PRETTY!

This is a vanilla/sweet/girly-scent lover's dream! Along the lines of my beloved Body Fantasies Vanilla Fantasy but more pure and simple. Gentle, soft and not at all synthetic to my nose. Sweet without being too foody. As mentioned by others, not long-lasting enough, but layering with the lotion helps alot. This is going to be a life-long love affair for me! VS better keep making this one with whatever name they want!
Love this one!!! First sniff I thought it was similar to Sweet Pea and some of the nice newer scents, but it quickly developed into its own sweet, apple-y, vanilla-ish, fresh self. Finally a sweet fragrance that isn't screaming "cheap, fake, and teenage!" This is a graceful scent that has a delightful mix of favorite notes, sometimes solo, sometimes, blending harmoniously. Not too fruity, not too powdery, just the best of my favorites! Bravo!
I am in love with Demeter Vanilla Cake Batter! It's the soft, non-buttery/brown sugary vanilla I've been searching for! Why the many "plastic-y" and "fake" references to it? It's the purest, most gentle vanilla scent around...not too foody or sugary either. Gentle, pure innocent vanilla, sweet but light. My new signature scent! EDIT: The spray on version is NOT as described here! Now I understand the negative reviews! I based the above declaration of love on my roll-on Vanilla Cake Batter, which I'll stick with but never the spray one! Changing ratings accordingly!
Imari Mystique is not for me, but if you like a spicy, sultry, confident fragrance, this could work for you. Not too unique, though...has elements of many other perfumes in the spicy category in it. Probably less expensive than they are, nonetheless!
Loved the "tender" name! And I wanted a classy, grown-up fragrance to call my own, after decades of devotion to $6.99 body sprays--which I still adore, by the way....Vanilla Fantasy is the ultimate! Anyway, I sampled this last spring, walked around the store, and loved how the dry down developed on me. Much sweeter and softer than the initial citrusy spritz. Impulse-bought it of course, and wore it regularly for the next few days. As always seems to happen, I wondered what I had loved about it after a short time...this rather stale, sharp scent?! But the story doesn't end here--everywhere I wore it (grudgingly so as not to "waste" it), men complimented me on how beautiful I smelled. Eventually, I could barely smell Chnace Eau Tendre on myself and stopped wearing it despite the compliments. Then, months later-- yesterday-- I sprayed some on to try & remember what it smells like, and again it developed into a lovely "tender" scent! And I got stopped and told how good I smell by a young man! Hmm, ok, I'm starting to think it just does better in non-summer months on my skin...could that be it? I'm a fan again!
Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - PINK with a Splash- Soft and Dreamy
Alleyhen 7/10/2010 6:08:00 PM
Pink Soft & Dreamy definitely has tinges of other Pink scents...but this one is the winner in my book. It smells almost exactly like Calgon's Mmm Marshmallow, which I love...but the drydown is nicer & longer lasting. And it's a tiny bit more dignified to say that you're wearing a Victoria's Secret fragrance than a Calgon spray...I guess. If you love unabashedly girly, soft young scents, you'll enjoy Pink Soft & Dreamy very much. I already ordered a second set of the body spray and lotion while it's on sale...this is a fragrance to wrap yourself in often, when you're not feeling overly formal, or serious and grown-up. Yummy!
I stopped in at my local beauty discount store in search of my favorite fragrance, L'Instant Magic...the gentleman helping me said he had just 1 bottle left, and only $24! My heart dropped when I saw that it was L'Instant de Guerlain. He opened it anyway and sprayed some on my wrist. Hmmm, sharper, some similarities...I wore it around as I shopped and, like its sister "Magic", it developed into a new scent with time! L'Instant is different than Magic in that it is less sweet, but they both share the delicious powdery essence. L'Instant is warmer and creamier, and reminds me of summer flowers, vs. Magic's more vanilla- sugar drydown. So I bought it! Bottom line: I really liked "L'Instant" ALOT the longer I wore it. And after spritzing some on before I went to bed, the covers and my bathrobe smelled beautiful the next morning! A gentle powder + summer lilies fragrance. I think if I layer a little vanilla with it, I'll have a VERY close runner-up to my beloved L'Instant Magic. Even on its own, L'Instant will be a frequent go-to perfume for me. Soft and distinctive...yummy!
Fragrances -Thymes Limited - Kimono Rose Eau de Parfum
Alleyhen 12/12/2009 5:20:00 PM
Even though I am hooked on L'Instant Magic as my signature scent, I had to pick this one up after testing it as I Christmas shopped today-it was that persuasive a beautiful scent! The little Kimono Rose roller is not too pricey so I didn't feel any major guilt. As one reviewer pointed out, the rose doesn't dominate, which I like. Very soft flowery, vanilla-y notes take over. Lovely! (And mixes well with my Magic!)
Picked this up out of curiosity at Marshall's and upon first spritz, scolded myself for wasting good money, and put it away. HOWEVER...as the day went by, a pretty, powdery scent kept wafting from my wrists. So I sprayed on more, and went through the "Eww" moments when the bitter citrusy notes dominate. But very quickly that sweet, gentle baby powdery scent takes over and stays. This is one of the few perfumes I love that actually gets blunt compliments out of the blue ("You smell so good, tell me what are you wearing?!") I don't smell it constantly, but now & then it quietly reappears...very nice. EDIT: Ok, upped my "overall rating" to a 5 after a Target employee followed my scent through the aisles to ask "Is that YOU? I mean who smells so beautiful?" I held up my wrist for him to sniff and he said "Yes! What IS that you're wearing?!" Just ordered more L'Instant Magic! Sooo happy that I can still find it!
Moon Sparkle has made it into my "Keepers" collection, despite a sharp initial spritz and no staying power. It just has a lovely, mild, well-balanced sweetness that mingles with the skin and gently wafts around you, for a short while at least! If I layer it with vanilla body lotions it's delicious and longer lasting. I don't get alot of fruitiness from this one...it's more sugary-spicy, which for me is a good thing.
