Gels/Soaps -Soap and Glory - Clean On Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel
AllBoutMakeUp 9/23/2009 11:38:00 PM
I have been using Soap & Glory products (and I mean ALL of their products) for a couple of years now. I luv, luv, luv the scent and have to say that since discovering Clean On Me I am hooked and its my HG shower gel!!!
I'm actually on the fence about this product. After seeing some rave reviews on YouTube & it being highly recommended by the SA @ my local MAC counter, I caved and purchased Prep+Prime Line Filler. It works okay but not what I expected (maybe my expectations are too high?). It does "slightly" fill in my lines & wrinkles but doesn't have alot of staying power, at least on me. In all fairness I have only used this about 3 times so maybe I haven't given it a fair shake. Will continue to use and may update this review after a few weeks. As of now though, am not sure I would repurchase....we'll see.
I love MAC products but was very disappointed in this longwear lipcolor. The MAC MUA talked me into trying this and I'm sorry I wasted my money on it. I applied it as instructed but it doesn't last AT ALL and is extremely drying on my lips!! I will stick with MAC's other lip products(love their lipsticks & glosses) but will not be buying this again!!
Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Pink Duo Fiber Powder Stippler

I have had this brush for about a year and still loving it. In the beginning it did have an off smell but with regular washing (I wash it at least once a week with baby shampoo) the smell has finally gone away. It doesn't shed much at all (some of my MAC face brushes still shed after several washings but no big deal) now. I use my CS Stippler brush to apply my liquid foundations and it gives me a "flawless" application. Encoremakeup on YouTube gives an excellent demonstration on how to stipple on your liquid foundation. If used correctly this brush can be your best friend!!! I would definetly buy again.
Liquid -Ulta - Ulta Oil-Free Foundation with SPF 15

I bought the Illuminating Oil-Free foundation in Fair/Light (I'm an NW20 in MAC) several months ago but only wore it 1 time. I too found it to be waaayyyy too dark and orangey....YUCK! No way will I purchase this again:(
This is my HG mascara! It doesn't really add that much volume but it lengthens nicely and I love the way the brush gradually tapers to at the end. It works really well for those small lashes at the tear duct area. I hope Clinique never discontinues this mascara.
LUV, LUV, LUV this foundation!! I'm an NW20 and have been wearing the Studio Fix Fluid (which I also luv) but I will be switching to the Studio Sculpt. Contrary to what some of the reviewers said in regards to the Sculpt foundation running darker I didn't find this to be true in my case. I got a sample in NW20 and it matches perfectly. I apply it with my foundation brush then buff with my 187 or 188 then "lightly" dust with my MUFE HD powder and my skin looks flawless. It even seems to diminish my large pores and softens the appearance of my wrinkles which is a plus for me. A little does go a long way so be careful when applying or you'll end up looking masky! RUN don't WALK to your nearest MAC counter and at least get a sample to try, you won't be disappointed....Thanks MAC for a great new foundation:)
Stupid Me...I bought this before reading the reviews on MUA. I don't like this mascara at all. As alot of reviewers have stated...it clumps really bad. It does give your lashes volume, if you can tell amid all the clumps! I definetly won't be buying this again. I'll stick to my Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara (the best!!).
Loose Powders -Coty - Airspun Fragrance Free Luminous Translucent Loose Powder
AllBoutMakeUp 10/4/2008 12:47:00 AM
I haven't used Coty powder in years and had really forgotten about it until I read the reviews on MUA so decided to give it a try again. I bought the Natural and the Extra Coverage Translucent and love the matte finish they give my skin. I am oily, especially in my T-Zone and this powder keeps me matte all day. I ended up going in search of the Luminous variety but was having trouble finding it. Lo and Behold , I walked into the cosmetic section of my local K-mart recently and there it was just waiting for me to grab it up! The luminous powder is difficult to find so I bought the only 2 boxes they had. I find the luminous powder gives me a slight dewy look and not shiny or sparkly at all. I actually like the smell of these powders, reminds me of my days as a young girl just beginning to discover makeup. I would definetly purchase again but seeing how I have like 4 boxes I will probably have no reason to purchase more.
