Scrubs -Softsoap - Moisturizing Body Wash Coconut Scrub
AllAboutMe83 5/13/2013 5:51:00 PM
I never used Softsoap body products only because I feel like it's suppose to be a hand soap line. I saw this at CVS, the creamy color with the crushed like coconut beads caught my eye plus it was on sale for under $4. I smelled it, read the ingredients and purchased it... and now I love it! It's gentle yet exfoliates well and moisturizes. It's now a staple in my shower!
Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Shine Collection Shampoo
AllAboutMe83 3/19/2013 2:13:00 PM
Finally! Yessssssssssssss! Clairol brought back their original herbal shampoo! I remember using this in my teenage years back in the late 90's. When they stopped I was not happy but always knew that one day they were going to bring it back because it's an excellent shampoo so is the conditioner by the way. This leaves my hair shiny, bouncy and smelling divine. I have thick heavy highlighted straight hair so I always look out for silicones because they coat and weigh down my hair. This has no silicone. It contains chamomile which is great for blonde hair due to it's natural lightening properties. You can't go wrong with this shampoo it's really fantastic.
I own Hypnose, Hypnose Drama and so seeing this I had to get it, Im sure it was the packaging, because I wear mascara once a week maybe. I have also purchased Defincils a few yrs back and hated it, I have had my share of experiences with Lancome I have this hate/love relationship with them, when I love something like their luminizing loose powder (photogenic) its of course discontinued..............anyway This mascara is really bad! It's just pretty packaging thats it! It is clumpy and the mascara goes on very unevenly and it's just a total mess, I have given it so many tries, with and without the Cils booster, wiping the wand, warming it in the darn microwave thinking that maybe the cold weather made it stiff and dry............you name it I did it all....after so many frustrating tries I was done once and for all. I will stick to the original Hypnose which I also like better than Drama.
I don't use concealer but how can I not have a few laying around as a makeup junkie, and Im sure one day it will come to use. First of all I love a "luminous" look all my foundation's are luminizing (EL's Lucidity, Lancome's Miracle, Photogenic.......some of my favorites) I own YSL's pen and it's nice to have and look at........ and use one day. L'Oreal is a decent brand and I have purchased a few items from them (mascaras, conditioners, eye serum's and such) and they are fine. I got this Magic Lumi pen in the lightest shade I believe Light/pale and being super fair and cool it's fine a bit too dark but good enough. That same day I also picked up Maybelline's DreamLumi concealer in Radiant and Ivory they are so inexpensive compared to YSL. (2nd or 3rd purchase from Maybelline) In my opinion the Maybelline is much better than the L'oreal, it's more luminous and not as drying. The shade Radiant (maybelline's) is apparently for everyone and it's got a neutral pinky tone to it. I really was impressed with Maybelline's product and it definately can be a re-placement for YSL. It may not last as long as YSL but it's close enough if you are looking from your wallet's point of view, quality...........of course YSL is a high end brand and technically you can't compare but really they are very close in performance. I wouldn't even bother with L'Oreal's because it didn't WOW me. Please keep in mind I did a trial on all 3 once and wore them for about 8hrs, I did not put any of them under my eyes, so I can't say how well they work for dark circles. If you use concealer everyday and can't see yourself spending on YSL try Maybelline's I think it's really good enough, it's a concealer not a foundation or a primer.
Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Ivory
AllAboutMe83 1/31/2013 9:48:00 PM
First I would like to say that this is my second Maybelline product. I tried their Stilleto Liquid Liner and loved it. I have never used concealer only because I have tried way back and it just looked cakey and dry looking, this was like 10 yrs ago when I was 19. I always wear "luminous" foundations because I hate a matte look, so spotting this DreamLUMI concealer made me buy it just to have in case I may find use for it one day. I really liked the texture and the color Ivory is a bit too dark but it's fine to work with. I also purchased the radiant color since it's so inexpensive I believe it was $11. Compared to YSL's luminizing concealer it's super cheap and does the job, unless you use concealer daily then I can't say YSL's is comparable, it's much more moisturizing and staying power is unbeatable and shades are perfect, but for me the makeup junkie that I am who practically never uses concealer, not having a few laying around would be a sin. I think if you have even oily skin this will be fine, because I have drier skin and I wouldn't mind if this was a bit more moisturizing. It definately illuminates, it does not contain any funky chunky tacky glitters and coverage is buildable.
Treatments -Vichy - Liftactiv Retinol HA Nuit/Night
AllAboutMe83 1/28/2013 11:08:00 PM
Im a huge fan of Vichy. I absolutely love their products, they are of excellent quality and actually deliver what they claim to do. Im 29 and I think it's time to start using anti-age products, since Im European and super fair skinned I will most likely show signs of aging sooner than others. I had my first Botox injections at 27 and I do them twice a year. Actually I prefer Dysport which is the same thing but more natural looking, Botox will be better after the age of 38 for me. Anyway the lines around the mouth ( ) I won't use filler on because I tried it and hated the uneven like results. Vichy's night time Liftactiv really plumped up my skin and defiantely smoothed my face in areas that needed a bit of smoothing. I use it almost everynight the results are quick and really amazing, it's also moisturizing which is always a plus. This creme is really for anyone, we all have our opinions on when we should start using anti-aging products like Retinol but I always say its never too late the sooner the better, not of course at 24 but when you get to be in your late 20's, everything you did during that time will reflect on your skin in your 30's............We all want to stay youthful and glowing and this is definately a product that will help in that matter.
I don't use any Pond's products except their eye makeup remover which is fabulous. I was really surprised at how great this lotion/milky toner moisturized my face! I woke up with really smooth, glowy skin the next day. Inexpensive and effective, will re purchase!
I purchased this lash serum because eye lashes need to be conditioned just like the hair on your head. I have naturally long, thick lashes but that does not matter because using mascara often will weaken them and make them thin and brittle. I try to use this serum at least 4x a week when I remember. I definately noticed my lashes to be stronger and thicker after about 10 uses. This serum really is a must for women who use mascara on a daily basis. Its not too thick, easy to apply and does not irritate the eye lids. I'm pleased with it and will always have a tube handy.
This I believe is a new addition to the scrub line. I use the Tree Hut body scrub but the Almond&Honey, so when I saw this I picked it up because it had a great summer like fragrance. It's an excellent scrub and exfoliates very well. It left my skin super smooth and glowing. It contains Evening Primorse Oil and Jojoba Esters as well as avocado, orange, almond and of course mango oil. It's something I use 2x a month during the summer to get that smooth, glowing body before I jump into my bathing suit. Will repurchase always!
I love this body scrub! It's such an excellent exfoliator, its rough but it's ok for me to use 2x a month or once in the winter time. I love the smell and the ingredients are really good, it's what a good scrub should have shea butter, avocado oil, almond oil and most important of all Evening Primorse Oil which is an excellent oil especially for women (I take the supplement as well) It's inexpensive and high quality.
This is a must have liner for fair skinned women. It goes on smooth, no feathering, not drying and staying power is excellent. The color is that perfect pink/slight cool brown/peachy tone that really can be worn with any lip color. I really keep going back to this liner and I own many others (Mac's,Estee,Revlon etc) and nothing beats this very versatile shade. The quality is better than some of the high brand liners I own.
I decided to pick this up while walking around Harmon, what the heck another primer won't hurt (probably my 15th one) I don't have oily skin or lids but I like my eyeshadows to stay on long and creaseless, I must have velvety, smooth looking lids or I get really frustrated anyway................This primer really is excellent it's smooth and not clay like and really kept my eye shadow put for 10 plus hrs. I have tried many primers Too Faced, Stila, UD, Lumene etc This really is one of my top favorites and best of all it's inexpensive and effective, Lumene's is great as well but I haven't seen it at CVS so I don't know if its still around. I went back to pick up Prestige's face primer since I was so pleased with the eye primer and that is excellent as well, this is my first Prestige purchase and definately not the last.
I use Olay's products because I have had good experiences with them so after seeing this cute swirl tube I had to try it, plus I love anything illuminating foundations, creams etc. This defiantely makes the under eye are bright and luminous but I also don't have dark circles...........who does't want to look more youthful anyway. The texture is light and moisturizing and just makes you look fresh and awake. Overall its a good eye cream, inexpensive, brightening and moisturizing Im happy with it.
Cleansers -Olay - Total Effects Refreshing Citrus Scrub
AllAboutMe83 1/25/2013 2:26:00 AM
I really didn't want to write this negative review because I like Olay products and I love the nourishing creme cleanser so I figured the scrub would be good since I like to use a scrub 2x a week to exfoliate. This left my skin lobster red for hours with a burning tight like sensation and I don't have sensitive skin. I was really surprised because like I said I like Olay's products especially their face cleansers and their super moisturizing body washes. Too bad because it's a nice smelling gentle scrub, I guess I'll stick with the other scrub they carry the 2in1 swirl like green bottle scrub.
Conditioner -Nexxus - Phyto Organics-Humectin Extreme Moisture Conditioner
AllAboutMe83 1/25/2013 1:46:00 AM
Im a fan of Nexxus products..........they have been around are effective and of excellent quality. This is a very moisturizing conditioner, I use it once a week and I have highlighted hair but pin straight, so maybe for more wayvy/curly hair this won't do but I can't see why not it has Manuka honey which is a high quality honey that is very moisturizing. It smells great and keeps my hair shiny, bouncy and healthy.........another excellent product from Nexxus.
