I've been wearing this fragrance for about a week now, and I adore it. It smells unlike anything else. I was looking for a replacement as my go-to winter fragrance MV3 from MAC was discontinued. I read about this as a replacement for MV3, and bought it from ebay sight unseen. When you first spray it, you do get the hit of rubber, but once it is on your skin it mellows beautifully into a warm vanilla jasmine scent. I do not like sweet florals and tend to gravitate towards unisex fragrances but do not like overly musky or manly smells. This one, while being billed as unisex, is not at all masculine and very wearable. I highly recommend it. I took one lippy off because it does not last very long, but I don't know a high end fragrance that does. Plus, at the low price it sells for (it is fifteen years old, which is why it is so cheap) I can afford to buy a second to keep with me.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
rated 5 of 5
AlexAlexAlex 11/15/2012 10:32:00 AM

I have extremely dry skin, and this product is my absolute life saver in the winter months. I've tried dozens of drug store and high end moisturizers, and this one is the best. I wear it every day on my face, and it keeps my skin moisturized for 12 hours. It also helps keep redness around my nose and mouth to a minimum. Without cetaphil on, I wouldn't even be able to wear concealer, as it sticks to the dry skin and looks cakey and uneven. I know many women would think smearing this on their face would be just about the worst idea imaginable. But for people with dry skin and few breakouts, it is THE BEST.

Misc Beauty Tools -beautyblender - the sponge
rated 5 of 5

I love this sponge. I've been using a stippling brush to apply foundation, and the beauty blender blows the brush out of the water. The foundation goes on beautifully. Something about the somewhat damp application works really well for my dry skin. Concealer around my nose and under-eyes also goes super smooth. Would definitely recommend this product. But, be prepared to wash after each use. Even still, totally worth it.

Blush -Maybelline - Dream Bouncy Blush

This is just unremarkable cheap drug store blush. Not very pigmented, so you'll have a hard time getting anything but a really dramatic bright color to even show up. I'll be taking this one back

Moisturizers -DERMAdoctor - wrinkle Revenge face
rated 5 of 5

I am halfway through my first jar, and my skin has never looked better. I only wear it at night, over Skinceuticals Correct retexturing activator. It is a little waxy and heavy when you first put it on, which is why I would not recommend as a day cream (that and it has no sunscreen). My usually VERY dry skin is totally free of flaky patches and redness around my nose and mouth seems to be diminishing. Overall I wake up with my skin plump and moisturized. It is not cheap, but the jar lasts for quite a long time. Also, the DERMAdoctor website has specials from time to time, and I bought this as a companion to the Wrinkle Revenge Eye cream and got a 15% discount.... so be sure to check the website.

Treatments (Eye) -DERMAdoctor - Wrinkle Revenge Eye
rated 4 of 5

This is a great, moisturizing eye cream. I am 29 and have super dry skin prone to millia and dark circles. I use this under my eyes and on my eyelids day and night. It's made a moderate, though not dramatic, difference in my blue/purple dark circles. Mostly, it just keeps my under-eye area soft and plump. It doesn't last me as long as I would like, and replacing every two or three months gets pricey. The tub it comes in is not great-- a lot of potential for bacteria transfer. Overall, I will keep buying it because 1) it does make some slight difference in my dark circles and NOTHING else seems to and 2) I like the Dermadoctor brand and trust this for prevention and to keep my eyes looking youthful into my 30s and 40s.

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - High Beam

Overall, a good highlighter, but not worth the money. And the packaging is AWFUL! The worst ever. A good 1/8 of my bottle ended up on the area around the mouth of the glass container. Yeah, the nail polish idea is cute, but really a terrible waste for an expensive product

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime Bronze
rated 2 of 5
AlexAlexAlex 6/26/2012 8:51:00 PM

Bad! I bought it because I thought it would be like the Sublime GLOW, which people love. 1.) I'm pale and pinkish, and the color is okay on me in most light. Not too orange, but also not that noticeable either. 2.) it streaks. Yuck. I had to do major all body post application lotion afterwards to try to even things out 3.) The glitter is way over the top. Like people will say "why are you wearing so much glitter" if you go out during the day with it on 4.) I think another reviewer said it smelled like cheap mens aftershave. Exactly. Skip it.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush in Luminoso

Such a pretty blush, and so cheap!! Shows up beautifully on my pale skin for days when I want something a little bright and glow-y. It doesn't last all day, but neither do my more expensive blushes. Really you've got nothing to loose on this one.

Hair Color -Wella - Color Charm Demi-Permanent Hair Color
rated 5 of 5
AlexAlexAlex 4/11/2012 10:22:00 PM

I am a believer! If you are getting a single process semi-permanent hair color (especially if it is darker than your natural color) in a salon, cancel your next appointment. Call a friend and go to sally beauty. Pick up one or two tubes of wella color charm in a shade lighter than you want to go. If it looks weird on those little hair samples, well, those little hair samples always look weird. Also pick up the special developer. Its different than the normal wella developer Go home, mix 2 developer to 1 color. I used a kitchen scale with that reads grams to get a perfect 2:1 ratio. Twenty minutes on and salon-quality hair color. I am amazed, and actually feel stupid that I've been paying $70 to get pretty much the same hair color. I just used 5N light natural brown, which tuned out a warm chestnut on my hair. I had some red in it already from my last salon job, and the 5N didn't totally drown the red (although I wish it would), but I'm afraid I would probably need a double process to get all the red out. All in all, this stuff is great. As I said, as good as what you would get for a single process in salon.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Gingerly
rated 4 of 5
AlexAlexAlex 4/11/2012 5:47:00 PM

I am VERY fair, Siberia in Nars sheer glow, possibly an NC 10 or 15 in MAC, though not sure. Freckles, hazel eyes, dark brown hair. This looks TERRIFYING in the pan. I walked into MAC and asked for a peachy blush. I've been getting tired of my NARS cream pennylane, which lasts for half an hour...and I've started thinking it has a grey undertone? (maybe I'm just bored) Anyway, the nice MAC salesperson showed me this in response to my query. No way, I thought. Peach, not bronze. But on my skin, it is beautiful. A very subtle warm peach. From looking at the colors in the pan, I went straight for peachy keen, but it on my skin, it is too pink and garrish. So score one for the MAC customer service. Oh, and look it on your skin in different lights.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
rated 5 of 5
AlexAlexAlex 12/17/2011 4:23:00 PM

Really works as a gentle exfoliator on my dry, sensitive skin. I can use the very gentle Cetaphil cleanser for dry skin with this, and feel like I am getting a deep clean without tearing all the moisture from my face. It also helps my skinceuticals serum absorb better. but BEWARE: you will probably break out the first week you use it. Push thorough and it will clear up. All in all, totally worth the investment. I know the clarasonic website has sales from time to time (my mom got two mias, for my two sisters, for $60 on cyber monday), so look out for those.

Blush -NARS - Cream Blush in Penny Lane
rated 3 of 5
AlexAlexAlex 12/17/2011 4:18:00 PM

When I first got it, I loved it. I've sort of soured on it a bit (which is a shame, because a NARS blush will last you years). Maybe it is because my skin has lightened for winter.... or I just got bored, who knows. The texture is good, it shows up well on my very pale skin, but.... I don't know. It's a little too dusty, like its too grey. Very subtle. I'll keep using it for now, but I'm on the look out for something a bit brighter.

Fragrances -Hermes - Un Jardin en Méditerranée
rated 3 of 5
AlexAlexAlex 12/17/2011 4:14:00 PM

I adore the fragrance. Very unique and perfect for summer. However, it has NO staying power. Zero. It lasts an hour, if you're lucky. So not worth the price, which is such a shame, because it truly is a fantastic, one of a kind fragrance.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
rated 4 of 5
AlexAlexAlex 12/15/2011 2:11:00 PM

Great drugstore Mascara. The waterproof variety doesn't flake, which is huge. Applies well. Not as good as you'll get with a Dior Show or higher end brand, but mascara's dry out so fast, why spend so much $$ when this is fully comparable. Definitely makes the 10 best drugstore finds list in my book!
