Fragrances -Guerlain - La Petite Robe Noire

Received a tester from this with another purchase, for which I was really glad since I yearned to try this one out! To me it smells a bit like cherry tart? I liked it, but didn't love it, and grew tired of it quite quickly. I feel it's a bit too much "out there" in a non-sophisticated way. On the plus size, I do love the bottle and it's staying power on my was crazy. Won't be asking this for my Christmas gift however!

Mascara -Givenchy - Noir Couture 4-in-1 Mascara
Alasse 11/25/2012 3:39:00 PM
Bought this mascara ro replace my usual clinique one, this was suggested by the sales rep. I asked for a gentle mascara that would add volume to my already very long lashes. I was really pleased with the result and thought it looked loads better than my clinique one. However... At the evenings I noticed that the mascara had clustered into my very fine lines beneath the eyes. Firstly, a mascara shouldn't do that. Secondly, it depresses me even more since I didn't even realize that I had fine lines before. So overall, while I loved what it did for my lashes, I'll be ditching this mascara because of its overall panda effect. A shame, certainly for the price!

Fragrances -Lancome - Tresor In Love
Alasse 11/3/2012 12:45:00 PM
This is my fav scent for spring and summer. It is subtle, and it's lasting power is very good if you know how to spray it (I can still smell it on my clothes the second day). I mostly smell roses, with something a bit softer and fruitier underneath. That would be the peachy part. To me, it smells of a young woman (not a girl) who refuses to let go of her romantic daydreams. I know it's not the most unique and surprising scent out there, but sometimes it's OK to just dream quietly and live at your own pace :)

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Louis Widmer - Emulsion Hydro-Active
Alasse 11/3/2012 12:37:00 PM
In short: this is a wonderful moisturizer for real combo skin. The light and airy texture helped to keep any greasy spots at bay while still moisturizing the dryer bits. I used this as a night cream during fall/winter and it was perfect except for the extremely cold days when I had the audacity to stay outside for more than an hour. Didn't repurchase because with jar packaging, somehow it usually takes me about one week to discover the first cat hair within the jar. So no jars for me ;-) Pro: - soft and light texture - available with subtle scent or no scent - price (22 EUR for 50ml) - antioxidants - didn't clog pores, didn't grease anything up Cons: - Jar package... Widmer really has to learn NOT to do this! - No UV, so combine with sunscreen or use as a night cream

Deodorants -Nivea - Pearl & Beauty Deodorant Spray
Alasse 9/22/2012 6:00:00 AM
I'm quite a nivea fan, so I was excited when I received a can of this deodorant with my favorite magazine. After using up my regular nivea roll-on deo (pure & natural) I switched to this one. I've been using only this deodorant for the past week and did not have a great time with it. Although it kept any smells or sweating at bay, I'm not convinced this it a good product for me. I noticed one whitehead (clogged pore) after two days. Didn't shave for the whole week, but still saw several more small whiteheads appear. That can't be good... Secondly, I tend to errupt in coughing and sneezing everytime I spray this. Some mornings, I actually had difficulty catching my breath, even when leaving the bathroom! Thirdly, it sometimes comes out in a white powdery substance which covers everything except the bodyparts I wanted it to cover. So despite my love for nivea, this one has gone straight to the bin.

Cleansers -Vichy - purete thermale purifying foaming water
Alasse 9/10/2012 6:40:00 PM
I really really wanted to like this, as I love ROC's energising cleansing mousse and this got good reviews on Beautypedia. However... except for the cute pink bottle and quality packaging, nothing about this was good for me. I'm totally in love with the water-to-foam concept and prefer to use these at night as they rinse well without a lot of water and have a soft and dreamy texture. Where I loved ROC's scent, I found this one quite chemical. Ever after the first application, my skin was pulling like crazy which didn't even go away completely after applying a soft toner and tons of moisturizer. Each application went the same way. So I'll have to give up and throw this one out. Maybe there's something in it which really doesn't agree with me? I'll be returing to ROC for my evening routine.

Cleansers -Vichy - Purete Thermale Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser
Alasse 9/10/2012 6:33:00 PM
Had a serious mishap with my fav PC cleanser and been looking for a good replacement ever since. I've used up the whole bottle and gone through quite a rollercoaster. The first few weeks I liked it, then somehow I stopped liking it, and now adore it after testing out several other cleansers and finding a good rythm. I now use this cleanser during my morningshower. I massage my face/neck thoroughly and rinse off with a lot of water. At evenings I prefer something very soft that rinses easily so I combine this with Roc's energising cleansing mousse (which is too soft for my oily skin when used during mornings). This combination gives me exactly what their names promise: a gentle, purifying cleanser in the morning and a soft skin-energising cleanser in the evenings. Will add this to my fav list! (Price paid: 11 EUR or 14 USD). Pro's: purifying enough for combination skin -- not too harsh on dry bits -- simple but good packaging -- price/quality very good Cons: lots of water to rinse -- bit too much for morning and night use.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - Elvive shampoo for coloured or highlighted hair
Alasse 5/27/2012 5:43:00 AM
Bought this as well as the matching conditioner. Won't ever use again, hated it after the first go. I find my scalp feels very greasy and that feeling lingers through the day. It feels as if I haven't used a shampoo, only a conditioner. I'm not a fan of the smell either, it's way to heavy early in the mornings. I've used several expensive as inexpensive products. My favourite was Nivea's blonde gloss but this has been discontinued. I'm now using the classic range for Nivea and I find that works perfectly without damaging my highlights!

Cleansers -RoC - Energizing Cleansing Mousse
Alasse 4/3/2012 5:09:00 PM
Using this product for two weeks and over the moon! Had mishap with PC cleanser, resulting in tight, painfully pulling and irritated skin with uneven complexion. Surpringsly, this cleanser helped a lot! Like the previous review said: it cleans very well while still moisturizing your skin. My skin is about 80% recovered within these two weeks! Far better complexion, few irritations and only a bit of pulling. I think I have to get rid of the remainder with a creamier moisturizer. I like the fact that I rinse it simly by using a wet cotton pad. It smells nice and the texture is divine as well. The bottle is cute and pink with a very decent pump dispenser. Only downside: I think I use more product due to the mousse texture than with most other cleansers. However, I don't mind as this bottle is cheaper than what I used to buy. I'm definitly repurchasing!

Shampoo -Paula's Choice - All Over Hair & Body Shampoo
Alasse 8/8/2010 6:02:00 PM
I absolutely *wuv* this product! After dying my hair red for a few years I decided to go back to my blonde natural self. Obviously, that required quite a large amound of irritating and drying products. Withing a few days though, my hair was again in perfect condition. So I can definitly say that it works wonders for both coloured hair (the red, which is a tough colour) and for quite dry hair. I am trying out different (read: cheaper) products now. But if nothing suits me, I would definitly repurchase!

Toners -Paula's Choice - Clear Targeted Acne Relief Toner with 2% Salicylic Acid for all skin types
Alasse 8/8/2010 5:58:00 PM
This toner did clear up my skintone to perfection. I have a very light skintone, which seems to act as a big fat arrow pointing to any skinproblems. All redness has gone out the door, together with a large portion of the whiteheads. One thing though: it doesn't do much for my blackheads and clogged pores. Perhaps using all the other battle products from the line would have helped, but I tend to get dry skin from using too many acne products. I'm trying different toners now, but if I don't find anything better fast I'll start ordering this again :)

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant
Alasse 8/8/2010 5:52:00 PM
I have combination skin that easily dries out and is prone to impurities. The gel leaves a very sticky residu on my face - to an extent where I can still feel it an hour later. Many sites suggested applying it thin, so that's what I did. But still no improvement. Apparently not the product for my type of skin... In favor of PC though, I contacted them about this issue and was promptly refunded. The PC Clear line seems to work a lot better for me.

Toners -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Toner
Alasse 1/7/2009 10:54:00 AM
I love this! Since using this toner, my skin stopped pulling like it did before. It's not very expensive for what you get, but it's not that cheap either. However, it's the only toner I know of that really works, so I'll happily pay the price ;)

Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser
Alasse 1/7/2009 10:50:00 AM
It didn't do anything for make-up removal, and it dried out my skin. For a very expensive product, this surely is a let down! I haven't even used up my tube.

Tinted Moisturizer -Estee Lauder - Day Wear Plus SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer [REFORMULATED]
Alasse 1/7/2009 10:46:00 AM
I initially loved this product. My skin doesn't tan but is quite clear, the only thing that I really need is a bit of extra color. This gave me a fabulous even tint. However... after using it a for a week, my skin began pulling like crazy and I had small outbreaks. A pity, because I really loved the colour!
