Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Mild
rated 5 of 5
AlFitz614 6/28/2006 9:10:00 PM

I just finished my first bottle of this, and it's official, I love it. I use this at night to remove sunscreen/makeup. 1 pump is all I need, I love the way it foams, and it removes everything (I do not use waterproof makeup). I am acne prone, and this has not caused any problems for me. It is also not drying or stripping. Will def repurchase!

Self Tanners -Hawaiian Tropic - Island Glow Daily Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
AlFitz614 6/8/2006 5:53:00 PM

Love this! I have tried many gradual tanning lotions (Olay, Jergens, Dove, etc) and this one is by far my favorite. It smells great, and I never notice a slef tanner smell even after having it on all day. The lotion is actually moisturizing, and the color is great. I am very fair and also got the medium and I developed a great, believable tan within a few days. I will be repurchasing!

Self Tanners -Dove - Dove Energy Glow Daily Moisturizer with subtle Self Tanners - Medium [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
AlFitz614 6/7/2006 12:19:00 PM

I was really hoping this one would work for me. There are a few positives, I am PPP, and the color was fine, not orange or yellow. It also dries very quickly, and didn't stain any clothing. What I don't like is, 1, it's not moisturizing at all. I felt like it was actually drying. And at first, the smell is fine, not great, but it doesn't smell like self tanner. About 2 hrs after I put it on it started to get that self tanner smell. And it wasn't subtle, it was so strong, my SO was even complaining. I'll be sticking to Hawaiian Tropic Island Glow.

Sunscreen -Clinique - Super City Block SPF 40
rated 4 of 5
AlFitz614 3/17/2006 6:19:00 PM

I am a huge fan of the SPF 25 version of this, but I am always looking for something with a higher SPF, and a higher PPD. So, when I heard Clinique was coming out with this I was very excited.

I have been using this daily for about a week, and so far I like it. The consistency is quite different from the original SCB. It has a thinner consistency, and wears much more like a sunscreen then a primer. When I first put it on it looks slightly shinny, but it soaks in quickly and has a more dewy look. It wells wear undermakeup. It's not as drying as other sunscreens with physical filters.

This does have a tint, and it looks pretty dark coming out of the tube. I am a cool toned PPP, and the tint fades, otherwise I would not be able to wear it. Because of the tint, there is no white cast. I have had no problems with it streaking or balling up either.

I have normal skin, but it is acne prone. So far I have had no problems with breakouts, and this sunscreen is easily removed with a foaming cleanser (I use the Liquid Mild Soap). I will be repurchasing.

Active ingredients: zinc oxide 8.8%, octinoxate 7.5%, titanium dioxide 6.6%, octisalate 2% (According to Ciba, the PPD seems to be around 8)

ingredients: water (aqua purificata) purified, trioctyldodecyl citrate, butylene glycol, dimethicone, octyldodecyl neopentanoate, steareth-2, silica, aluminum stearate, angelica acutiloba (japanese angelica) root extract, zizyphus jujuba fruit extract, rosa roxburghii fruit extract, citrus unshiu peel extract, porphyra yezoensis (algae) extract, paeonia suffruticosa (peony) root extract, gardenia florida extract, carthamus tinctorius (safflower) flower extract, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, paeonia albiflora (peony) root extract, poria cocos sclerotium extract, saccharomyces lysate extract, cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract, betula alba (birch) bark extract, hordeum vulgare (barley) extract, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seedcake, gentiana lutea (gentian) root extract, yeast extract (faex), sodium rna, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, tocopheryl acetate, pantethine, glycerin, glucose, squalane, polyglyceryl-6 polyricinoleate, tricaprylin, propylene glycol dicaprate, chamomilla recutita (matricaria), hexylene glycol, peg/ppg-18/18 dimethicone, caprylyl glycol, barium sulfate, polyethylene, xanthan gum, magnesium aluminum silicate, lecithin, ceteth-2, peg-40 stearate, sodium stearate, steareth-20, sorbitan tristearate, isopropyl titanium triisostearate, citric acid, disodium edta, bht, phenoxyethanol, mica, iron oxides (ci 77491, ci 77492, ci 77499), titanium dioxide (ci77891)

Treatments -Clinique - Turnaround Concentrate [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
AlFitz614 3/7/2006 3:02:00 PM

I'm still undecided whether or not I will be repurchasing this, but so far I am getting very good results. I had been using Neutrogena's Rapid Clear Lotion for my BHA treatment, and it was working great, but I was finding it slightly drying. When Clinique came out with this I decided to give it a try. It is not drying like other BHA treatments I have used, and I am getting the same results, controling acne, clearing pores, etc. I also like that it's loaded with antioxidents.

I emailed Clinique to inquire about the pH of this product, but they would not disclose that information. The pH of the old TTA products was to high, and I never saw any results from using it. I am getting results from this product, but I do not know for sure whether the pH is ok or not.

Ingredients: water\aqua\eau, cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone, polysilicone-11, acetyl glucosamine, peg-10 dimethicone, salicylic acid, saccharomyces lysate extract, oryza sativa (rice) bran extract, polygonum cuspidatum root extract, acrylamide/sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate copolymer, castanea sativa (chestnut) seed extract, cholesterol, tocopheryl acetate, laminaria saccharina extract, triticum vulgare (wheat) germ extract, yeast extract\faex\extrait de levure, caffeine, adenosine phosphate, sodium hyaluronate, salvia sclarea (clary) extract, creatine, glycyrrhetinic acid, pantethine, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp copolymer, hydrolyzed corn starch, squalane, glyceryl stearate, cocamidopropyl dimethylamine, hordeum vulgare (barley) extract\extrait d'orge, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium citrate, hexylene glycol, butylene glycol, di-c12-18 alkyl dimonium chloride, polysorbate 80, caprylyl glycol, polysorbate 20, isohexadecane, disodium edta, phenoxyethanol, titanium dioxide (ci 77891), mica, iron oxides (ci 77491, ci 77492, ci 77499)

Skincare - Face -Stridex - Triple Action Pads, Alcohol Free
rated 4 of 5
AlFitz614 2/25/2006 12:03:00 PM

I was looking for a toner type product to use in the morning that was alcohol free and easy to get ahold of. I ran across these at Target and decided to give them a try. The pads are rough, but I like that. I feel like I'm getting some physical exfoliation along with the chemical exfoliation these pads provide. I don't really have problems with breakouts, but these have kept my skin clear and well exfoliated. I will def be repurchasing.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Charisma #518
rated 5 of 5
AlFitz614 2/11/2006 10:46:00 AM

I am loving this duo! I have tried a few duos from the HiP line, and this is by far my favorite. This duo has a dark matte purple and a lighter metallic purple with a little pink in it. I am a cool toned PPP with blue eyes, and these purples are wearable on me. It is very hard for me to find wearable purples. As far as pigmentation goes, the lighter color is ok, but the dark purple is very well pigmented. These last all day on me (even with out a primer) and don't crease or flake. As with the other duos, the packaging isn't all that great. But, I will be repurchasing!

Masks -Clinique - Total turnaround 15 min mask
rated 2 of 5
AlFitz614 1/25/2006 7:03:00 PM

Well, I seem to be in the minority about this product. I've used the mask for a few weeks now, and I can't see any change in my skin. The mask itself thick, and loaded with sparkles. I wouldn't mind the glitter if I was seeing results from this. I smooth it on, and then massage it off with a wash cloth per the instructions. As soon as I wash it off, my skin does feel very smooth, but nothing like at home microdermabrasion. I do think this is a good option for those with sensitive skin who can not handle manual exfoliation, but I will be sticking with Olay's microderm and peel kit.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Polysporin
rated 5 of 5
AlFitz614 1/22/2006 9:13:00 PM

Like the other reviewers said, this is a great product to spot treat pimples. I also avoid Neosporin because of the irretating ingredients. I use this on pimples that not yet come to a head over a layer of a BHA spot treatments, and I use it a scabs, and it really does help prevent scaring. Simply, this should be in everyone's medicine cabinet.

Liquid -Maybelline - Pure Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
AlFitz614 1/21/2006 7:10:00 PM

I have been using this foundation for a few weeks and I am very impressed. I haven't had great luck with Maybelline cosmetics in the past, but I saw this and just had to give it a try. I picked up the lightest shade, which matches my PPP, cool skintone prefectly. Somehow this foundation manages to give light coverage, but really even out my skintone and cover manage imperfections. It goes on smooth, and does not dry chalky or powdery. I will be repurchasing, and I'm going to give the powder a try.

Eye Shadow -mark - Gllitter Belle eye color in Smoked Fume
rated 2 of 5
AlFitz614 1/17/2006 9:42:00 PM

I bought this b/c it just looked so cute on the website. The packaging is great, and you get alot of product for it to be so cheap. The color is great, and I had no problems applying it with a eyeshadow brush. It looked great for about 15mins, and then it began to crease. I do not have oily lids, and did use a base. If this didn't crease, I would buy again, but since it does, I will not b e repurchasing.

Mascara -Neutrogena - Lash Tint [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
AlFitz614 1/17/2006 3:04:00 PM

I'm very disappointed with this product. The packaging is really cute, and it looks great when I put it on. Gives my lashes some color, and makes them look very natural. But, once this dries, it made my lashes feel crunchy. I'm fine with not really soft lashes, but I can't stand when they feel stiff. Also, I had a problem with this flaking. I will not be repurchasing.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 55
rated 3 of 5
AlFitz614 1/15/2006 5:28:00 PM

I'm still somewhat undecided about this sunscreen. It's pretty good for being a US sunscreen protection wise, it's stable and I'm guessing it has a PPD of over 8. It goes on smooth, soaks in quickly, doesn't leave a white cast, and it's not greasey at all. It wears well under makeup, and I haven't had any problems with it becoming oily during the day. So far, I have had no problems with breakouts or clogged pores. It does have that sunscreen smell, but it goes away quickly. The formula itself is not runny, but not too thick either. It's around 10 USD for 3oz. I will probably repurchase, and wear it during the summer and on clear, sunny days. Otherwise, I will stick to Clinique Super City Block.

Gels/Soaps -Olay - Winter Retreat Body Wash in Vanilla Essence for Extra Dry Skin
rated 5 of 5
AlFitz614 1/13/2006 9:17:00 AM

This is a great body wash. It's creamy and feels very luxurious. It does not dry out my skin at all, it's somewhat moisturizing. The smell is just amazing. I don't know if I would call it vanilla, as I generally do not like vanilla scnets.

I'm also disappointed this is a Limted Edition, hopefully Olay will come to their senses and make this a permanent product. This bottle is huge, but I'm considering getting another before this comes off the shelves.

Lotions/ Creams -Dessert Beauty - Sweet Butter
rated 5 of 5
AlFitz614 1/12/2006 7:36:00 PM

I love this product. When it came in the mail, it did not look like the picture at all like everyone else had said. The oil and other ingredients seperated, so I just mixed it with my finger, and it does look like the pic. I also keep it in the fridge so it has a firmer texture.

It smells delicious, and when I put it on it warms up, making the product feel very luxurious. It moisturizes very well, and it doesn't stay greasy on me long at all. By the time I'm ready to leave the house in the morning, it has soaked in. It leaves a lovely light scent behind, and makes my skin taste sweet, my SO loves it. I will be repurchasing.
