Hair Color -Garnier - Herbashine
Adrianne29 7/7/2011 2:44:00 AM
I mixed Medium Golden Brown (530) with Copper Mahogany Brown (645). After reading reviews on this site I got the impression the 530 was more of a yellow/orange brown and the 645 was very red/burgundy. This was apparent event when squeezing the color into the developer. The 530 was yellow and the 645 was pinkish. In a hairstylist's measuring tube I put 65% 530 and 35% 645. I mixed it in a hair color bowl with a coloring brush. I brushed the color all over my hair starting with all my roots and then pulling through/massaging into the rest of my hair. I honestly don't know how long I left it on for. Maybe 10-15 minutes? I showered until the water ran clear and then deep conditioned twice with my Fekkai 3-minute mask. My hair was originally medium brown with warm blondish highlights throughout. Now my hair is a perfect dark auburn. Very natural looking. I'll have to see how it fades. I love it! My hair is also very soft and healthy-looking. I agree with other reviewers about a lot of hair falling out during the initial rinse. But I have a ton of hair so it's ok. It's not like whole chunks of hair are missing or anything. Overall, I highly recommend mixing the colors for a natural result.

Powders -LUSH - Vanilla Puff dusting powder
Adrianne29 4/27/2011 7:32:00 PM
This is a great powder. It smells nice, and effectively absorbs moisture. The vanilla fragrance isn't overwhelming, it's light. I use it after putting a scented lotion on and it compliments most fragrances. The lid sucks, it leaks powder and was hard to get open when I first opened it. I bought a pretty puff and box and put it in there anyway for a more luxurious experience. This also works great in my 2-day hair to absorb oil. I have tried the LUSH silky underwear, The Greeench, the Urban Decay ones, and the Karma Sutra powders. This one is my favorite (#2 is the Karma Sutra Honey Dusting powder - great for every day)

Mascara -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalash Clinical Mascara
Adrianne29 4/26/2011 2:44:00 PM
Omg, Wet 'n' Wild Megalash Clinical mascara works! I typically buy more expensive brands like Dior, MAC, BB, Smashbox, Benefit etc. But since I go through mascara quickly I've been testing out drugstore brands. I read a review that Wet 'n' Wild has been coming out with better quality products. I already have long lashes, naturally brown with blond tips that curl naturally and are decently thick. Diorshow smudges all along my brow bone when I wear it. So I bought the clinical Wet 'n' Wild hoping that the vitamins in it would condition my lashes and hopefully keep them from falling out when I wash my face at night. I expected NO lengthening or growing results from a $4 product. I have used this mascara daily for 3 weeks and holy heck - my lashes look fake! Pro: Decent for every-day use. I wouldn't use it going to the club (Dior Show Lengthening & L'Oreal Carbon Black Voluminous Waterproof layered - yowza!) but going to work it's fine. It separated and coats nicely. Minimal separating with a comb after applying. Con: Packaging - Does it have to look so "clinical?" They made it look like a syringe with doctor-blue writing and cap. It literally looks like I'm carrying around a syringe in my clear make-up bag. I don't have a problem with the barrier that scrapes the excess off - I usually scrape a lot anyway. Pro: It works! I don't know if my lashes are actually growing and filling in or if they're not falling out, thus looking fuller. But either way I am thrilled. They are soft. Not crispy and crunchy like with regular mascara. I have received many compliments. Con/Pro: The formula does sting a bit if I start at the lashline and drag up. Nothing terrible though. I wear large-optic contacts and have no problems. Pro: Washes off easy with face soap. Pro: Doesn't smudge on my brow bone or flake under my eyes. It stays put. Pro: CHEAP! Try it, who cares if you hate it, it's $4. But what if you love it! (like me!)

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - 13 Soap (Unlucky For Dirt)
Adrianne29 2/1/2011 3:13:00 AM
I have bought this soap twice when it has been half off at my local counter. So I consider this one to be quite cheap. It was sold to me as a soap that "kills germs and eliminates bad smells on your hands. Perfect to use in the kitchen while cooking." I have had a bar in my kitchen for over a year. I always use it before handling food and while I'm cooking with certain foods. Especially when I handle meats. I hate it when my hands smell like chicken. And I'm always concerned about bacteria when I alternate handling different foods. Since I use it in the kitchen, the fragrance is perfect. I highly recommend it.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Twilight Bath Bomb
Adrianne29 2/1/2011 3:05:00 AM
This is the first Lush bath product I ever tried. I got it as part of a Christmas gift. It smells so unbelievably good! I even went to my local Lush counter to see if they make other products with this fragrance, unfortunately they do not. This fizzy is quite large so I put it in a plastic bag and smashed it with my shoe. To my surprise a smaller blue ball rolled out of the large pink/purple one! Cool! I have a shower stall sized bath tub, so I have been able to get 6 baths out of this sucker. The water turns a pretty color and softens my skin. The fragrance lingers on my body and the whole bathroom smells delightful. The only minus is the glitter. You know how glitter is.. it pops up in random places. My cat jumped in the tub when I was done and got glitter on his paws. Now I keep seeing random sparkles on my kitchen floor, bed, couch...etc.

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Heavanilli Massage Bar
Adrianne29 2/1/2011 2:58:00 AM
I love this massage bar! To me it smells like vanilla, coconut, and white chocolate. It makes my whole apartment smell lovely when I put it on. I use it as an after-bath moisturizer. I put on a robe after applying so it can soak in and not stain my sheets or pj's. Sometimes I use my Vanilla powder if I need to get dressed and go. The fragrance reacts well with my body chemistry. I went to the gym after work and my body heat/sweat intensified the smell. (lady jogging next to me - you're welcome) I will definitely repurchase.

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Wiccy Magic Muscles Massage Bar
Adrianne29 2/1/2011 2:38:00 AM
I got this as a Christmas present. The minty cinnamon fragrance was ok during the holidays, but not a favorite. Those aduki beans fall out all over the place. They're annoying, and certainly not massaging or therapeutic. They're actually quite scratchy. The bar kept breaking and I had these little bits with all these beans. My husband hated the smell and even when I had it on I didn't feel pretty or sexy. I felt like I had just come home from the chiropractor with biofreeze all over me. Will not repurchase - moving on to other Lush products. 3 lippies for being moisturizing.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Summer Pudding
Adrianne29 2/1/2011 2:29:00 AM
I bought this soap because it was half price at the Lush counter. I'm actually not a fan of cherry fragrances, but I bought it anyway because it was pretty and low priced. I really like it! The almonds are very exfoliating and the fragrance reacts well with my chemistry. I use it right before getting out of the shower so the smell lingers on my skin. I still need to use moisturizer when I dry off but I didn't expect it to be moisturizing so I'm happy. I recommend this soap!!

Styling Products -Living Proof - No Frizz Wave Shaping Curl Defining No Frizz Styling Spray for fine to medium hair
Adrianne29 1/18/2011 1:03:00 PM
Wow, this stuff really sucks. My mom gave it to me after trying it thinking It my work for me because my hair is not as fine as hers. I used the Frizz shampoo and conditioner, then the spray. My hair came out poof-poodle-tastic! It says to spray liberally for long hair - more than 20 sprays of product. I used about 30 and really worked it in my boob-length hair. I let it air dry and yowza - I am having a terrible hair day! I have fine-medium 3a/3b hair. (tight and loose "S" shapes) My hair is color treated within 2 shades of my natural color and is the healthiest its been in years. I typically use Fekkai, ICON, and the L'Oreal sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. I usually style with Davines, Frizz ease and ICON products. The living proof Frizz product line makes my hair dry, poofy, and very "fine" feeling. My curls also turned out more kinky than "S" shaped. My hair today reminds me of Renaissance old timey times. I need a crown and a corset.

Other -Stila - makeup player
Adrianne29 12/6/2010 6:02:00 PM
Love, love, love this thing, it's so cool!!! I'll be honest, I got an insane deal. Stila had a cyber Monday sale and I got the makeup player with the free make up for $25. Based on reviews, I expected it to be really small. I did not buy it with the intention of housing my whole stash. So the size (10"x10") exceeded my expectations. The speaker system gets pretty loud and not distorted from what I can tell, but I also wasn't playing music with a lot of bass so we'll see. The batteries are included. I'm excited to play with the make up and see if any of it will make it into my regular rotation. The eyeshadow trio is really pretty. It comes loose in the clear packaging (awesome because it's going in my Z Pallette) and with an aluminum casing to pop it into. I will use it to replace one of my old cardboard ones. I frequently go on weekend trips with my friends and do their make up before we go out. I always have to drag my Ipod speaker system into the bathroom or plug in my blackberry. Both end up hogging an outlet that could be used for curling irons or hair dryers. I can't wait to travel with this and see how much easier it makes things. :)

Polishes -Rescue Beauty Lounge - Teal
Adrianne29 11/10/2010 6:36:00 PM
This is the first RBL nail polish I have ever tried. I love it! All the reviews are correct. The application and consistency is perfect. I've had it on for 4 days with no chips (using OPI Chip Skip and Essie 3-way top coat). I love the dark teal. I consider this a "classy" dark color. I am 27 and work in a professional office. I was nervous about whether any co-workers/clients would judge my dark teal decision. Just the opposite! I have gotten many compliments. I have never seen this color before and I am relieved I love it as much as I do, considering the high price tag. It's worth it, and I think I'm addicted now.

Polishes -Butter London - Jelly Collection
Adrianne29 11/4/2010 6:36:00 PM
I am new to Butter London polishes and I just love them! I recently bought Stroppy and Chuffed for $7 each on Hautelook (score!). I really like both of them: Chuffed: One layer looks apricot, 3 layers is a sparkly tangerine. Since it's fall, i layer 1 coat over my fall colors. I'll wear it alone in spring. Like all of my Butter London polish, it wears well and doesn't chip easily (First using Chip Skip by OPI and ESSIE 3-Way top coat). Stroppy: Love, Love, LOVE! After three coats I would best describe it as a vibrant, violet, purple, magenta. The shimmer is a subtle pink. It is not glittery. I wear it over my darker nail colors and it looks awesome (especially over Marrow). It wears well and long (First using OPI Chip Skip and ESSIE 3-way top coat). I'm on day 5 and it's only slightly chipped at the tips of my nails (barely noticeable). These colors are perfectly pigmented and sheer enough to do gradient manicures. I highly recommend the Jelly Colors!

Lip Gloss -LORAC - Sheer Berry gloss stick
Adrianne29 11/3/2010 2:57:00 PM
I bought this for like $4 on Hautelook so I have a minimal investment. My overall review is "it's fine." It has a very thin/slick application. It is a sheer wash of berry. I apply it to my lips in tiny circles because if i just slap it on like chapstick the color doesn't apply evenly (blotchy). I really like the packaging. It looks sophisticated and I like how the top turns to reveal more product. It comes off easily and doesn't feel particularly moisturizing. I use layer it with my Burt's Bees. I keep it in my desk at work.

Palettes -Unlisted Brand - Z Palette-Large
Adrianne29 10/30/2010 4:12:00 AM
I bought two large black palettes. I was pumped. I have so many expensive palettes that I forget about. I end up buying dupes on accident. I was beyond excited when I read about Z Palette. What I didn't know is what a pain in the a** de-potting is. I followed all the instructions on the website and even got tips from ZP themselves. Most of my pans came out cracked, dented, or mangled. It was hard getting the glue off the bottom, then to discover most of my pans (MAC) aren't magnetized. I am very visual and like to use pretty things. Every time I look at my one completed ZP, filled with mangled pans that have all been alcohol-ed back together I feel sad. I don't want to use them. They look ugly. Another observation is the cardboard packaging. I wish it was plastic. I have a small counter and water always seems to be lingering somewhere. UPDATE: I changed my lippies because I finally figured out how to de-pot properly. I had been reading the ZP website which gave the safe version of how to de-pot (understandably so). Then I found a youtube of a girl just torching the bottoms of eyeshadow pallettes and popping them out. There we go! I held a lighter to those suckers and had no problem and no cracking/crumbling/denting. Channeling my inner pyro was actually quite therapeutic! It's too bad I didn't figure it out sooner because there were many casualties. Hopefully this review will help new ZP users and therefore reduce the eyeshadow death rate.
