Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Winter Candy Apple
Abbzxo 11/11/2012 1:01:00 PM
Bath and Body Works was having an online sale a few weeks ago, and as I was scrolling through the site I decided to pick up the Fragrance Mist just out of nostalgia (used to love the scent and it reminds me of holidays in the past.) Sadly I think I've grown out of the fragrance-- I remember it being fresh with hints of cinnamon, but now it just smells like chemical-doused cloves. I cannot smell the apple at all, and the caramel/sweet base that I remember it having evades me. The scent does linger for quite awhile, but why would I want it to if it smells this bad? I will probably end up giving it to my sister and see if she likes it, although I do wonder if I just got a bad batch or if BBW changed the formula. Oh well...
Moisturizers -Origins - VitaZing SPF 15 Energy-boosting moisturizer with Mangosteen

I really wanted to love VitaZing, but it just doesn't work for me. I have combination/acne-prone skin and this product was suggested to me by the salesperson at Origins, as it moisturizes and adds a bit of coverage while letting your skin breathe. I liked it when I sampled the product at the counter, but when I tried it on at home, it was just too greasy for my skin type (especially in the summer!) Also, it oxidizes a tad dark on my skin, although that can easily be fixed by blending. I will finish up the bottle because it was very expensive and may re-purchase in the winter when my skin is drier and less acne-prone... but all in all, it just doesn't give me the coverage I need and is a bit too greasy for hot summer days!
This product has some really negative reviews, but it works well for me! I am actually on my second tube. It does flake a little, but I haven't had "raccoon eyes" while using it. I wore it once through a workout and it barely even smudged. Also, I do notice the nourishing effect on my lashes... they don't look like they have grown much, but they are a little bit thicker. For the price, it's worth a try! The wet formula and big brush may not work for everyone, but I do enjoy this mascara!
Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - InStyler-Tre Milano brand

My sister got this for Christmas, and after watching the instructional DVD, my mom and I were excited to try it out on her hair. When we got it out of the package and plugged it in, we closed the iron, only to find out that the barrel wasn't rotating. It was very disappointing for my sister, who was so excited to do her hair on Christmas morning. We're so upset with the InStyler that we're not even getting a replacement. All the hype about this product is ridiculous... if it can't perform freshly out of the box, what makes people think that it will last any length of time? You're better off spending money on a quality flat iron such as a CHI.
I fell in love with the shimmery purple-pink color...in the tube. Once I put it on my lips, it looked disgusting! Way too shimmery and frosty. It made my teeth look yellow! Not repurchasing!
Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Shiny Licious - Lolly Pink
Abbzxo 8/24/2007 7:21:00 PM
I am in love with this gloss! It's thick but not sticky, and lasts for hours. The color is beautiful- a soft baby pink with a bit of a shimmery gold undertone. Many glosses look too harsh on me, but this had the perfect color. Plus, it smells delicious...like candy! Will definitely re-purchase, maybe along with a few new colors!
I got this for $3 in the clearance bin at CVS. Most of the reviews here said it was good, so I decided to pick it up. I really like the moisturizing clear coat. I'd wear it alone because it's subtly shiny and really moisturizing. But the actual lipcolor had a disappointing texture...it sets as soon as it's on your lips so it looks streaky, and if you put more than one coat on, it actually crumbles on your lips. I love to put gloss on thick, but when I did with this one, all the gloss actually crumbled into my mouth, which was beyond disgusting. The only good part was the color (110, Magical )...very natural looking.
Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara and Eyelash Curler Set
Abbzxo 8/21/2007 5:42:00 PM
I bought the kit with mascara in very black...it's a good basic mascara, nothing fantastic...doesn't really lengthen but gives decent volume. Now for the eyelash curler... Dreadful, painful, and pointless are the only words I can use to describe it. It's your basic plastic eyelash curler, but it hurts so bad when you use it. I cannot tell you how many times it's pinched my eyelid. It doesn't curl at all, in fact, it makes my lashes look even straighter, if that's possible. It's going right into the trash where it belongs.
Concealers -Sally Hansen - Fast and Flawless Concealer with Retinol
Abbzxo 8/21/2007 5:35:00 PM
I saw this in the clearance bucket at CVS (for $1, what a steal!) and decided to buy it. It really makes my dark undereye circles look a lot lighter, but doesn't cover zits very well. It's worth a try since it's cheap.
Lip Gloss -New York Color - Kiss Gloss in Cool Mint
Abbzxo 8/21/2007 5:31:00 PM
I was looking for an inexpensive clear gloss one day, and this was dirt cheap so I picked it up. It's long-lasting, has a pleasant minty scent (that unfortunately doesn't last for very long), and for the price, is definitely worth it. One problem...it's extremely sticky. Extremely.
Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo
Abbzxo 8/12/2007 7:35:00 PM
The shampoo and conditioner are just ok. Nothing special. I feel like it moisturizes my hair, but makes it a bit frizzy, which is odd. Another problem is that it made my freshly colored hair fade very quickly. It totally stripped my hair of the color days before it was supposed to fade. It smells good though!
Hair Color -Clairol - Herbal Essences COLORFLIRT mousse [DISCONTINUED]

This product is AMAZING. I used the Spicy Shimmer shade, and it gave me a beautiful spicy auburn color that makes me feel really cool and daring. I am most definitely buying this wonderful product again. A+++++++++
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Acne Stress Control Foam Wash
Abbzxo 8/2/2007 4:50:00 PM
The first week I used it, my usually clear skin looked ok. Then, during the second week, I began to break out more than I ever had in my life. It feels like every day I've used this product, I get more and more (HUGE) breakouts. What a horrible product!
Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Intensive Care Dry Skin Lotion
Abbzxo 8/2/2007 4:46:00 PM
This is my favorite lotion in the world! Extremely moisturizing without being oily, and it dries in an instant. I got this as a sample when I bought another Vaseline product, and now I can't stop buying it! I'd recommend this product to anyone. A must-buy!
Pressed Powders -Maybelline - PurePowder shine-free finish
Abbzxo 8/2/2007 4:41:00 PM
It disguises shine for about 10 minutes and doesn't hide breakous at all. The color was decent, though...very light. It rubs off easily. This was a waste of money, definitely not buying it again!
