Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Oil Free Foaming Facial Cleanser
AJ3141 4/23/2013 1:40:00 PM
THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN REFORMULATED This cleanser no longer as triclosan and is so much more gentle than it used to be. It doesn't burn or dry out my skin like it used to. It has the same scent as before, which I like. It foams well and takes off makeup and sunscreen and it actually reduces the amount of oil my skin produces which hasn't happened before with a cleanser. It doesn't break me out and leaves my skin so soft. You get 8 oz for $4 and a little goes a long way My new HG cleanser :) Ingredients: Water, Triethanolamine, Myristic Acid, C9-15 Alkyl Phosphate, Lauric Acid, Glycerin, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Methylparaben, BHT, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, Red 4, Yellow 10
I've been using this for 2 months and I wanted to write a review after 1 week. The tub is an amazing deal: 12 oz for $4. It'll last months with cleansing twice a day. I love this for taking off my makeup at night. I'm actually motivated to wash my face before bed. I smear it on and wipe off with a warm damp towel. Done. No splashing my face and getting the counter soaking wet. I love the smell and the light menthol feel. My hormonal breakouts aren't nearly as bad and my oily skin is tamed. I use it to soothe sunburns and as a moisturizing face mask. I also use it with my Olay brush with no problems. This is a keeper on all counts!
This palette is great of eyeshadow n00bs like me. Basically any combination of these colors looks great and I like the variety of colors and shimmers/mattes. I like that I can wear these colors as an everyday look or deepen them for nighttime. They last long on me. My only complaint is that the mirror inside cracked while I was travelling despite the fact I wrapped the palette in a shirt. Otherwise, I love it and use it almost every day!
Cleansers -Clearasil - Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Cleansing Pads
AJ3141 2/14/2013 1:14:00 AM
They've reformulated these in recent years. I used them about 4 years ago and they dyed my eyebrows (because of peroxide I believe). They've taken out that ingredient, but the product is still great at fighting acne. I definitely notice a difference when I don't use this and I break out. I've travelled with these pads and have had no problem with them leaking or anything. They're about $6 and I only use them at night so one set will last me 3 months
I got a huge tub of this at Target for $5. I'm a little overwhelmed with it because I have so much lotion and I only use a little at a time--it's going to take forever to make it all the way through the tub. I use this at night as a hand cream and as an eye cream. I love the smell, the thick consistency, and how moisturizing it is. When I use it consistently, my under-eye bags are more deflated and it's easier to put/spread concealer on them
I bought this impulsively at CVS a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it! It's a blue-toned satiny, glowy, and perfect red. I get tip wear fairly quickly with it, but it's worth it for the gorgeous color! It instantly lifts my mood and lasts a few days
I have been using this about 9 months and love it! I've used it every day. I've tried using other powders and nothing else I've tried comes close to mattifying like this. The coverage is light, so I usually put this on top of BB cream/concealer if I use them. The main reason I use this is for mattifying and evening out my skin. It's about $20 and I like the sponge it comes with
I'm on my second tube of this mascara. I got it for $6 at Target. It doesn't irritate my eyes, and comes off easily. It does a good job separating and lengthening, but I wished it did make my lashes more voluminous, like the name implies. Regardless, I'll probably keep buying it because I like everything else about it
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask
AJ3141 11/4/2012 3:11:00 PM
I'm surprised by all the negative reviews on this! I love it! I use it every morning and it's the best cleanser I've found for oil control. It's creamy and smells nice and unoffensive. I let rub it on wet skin and let it sit while I make my bed, etc. Then I rinse it off. My skin is soft and not dry after. I don't use it at night because it's not good at taking off makeup. It's the perfect morning cleanser for me! No breakouts and no complaints
Lip Treatments -Carmex - Click Stick Original SPF 15
AJ3141 8/23/2012 9:13:00 PM
This is my HG chapstick! It was the only lip product that helped the dryness I had during Accutane. It was more moisturizing and stayed on longer than Aquaphor. I also like that it has spf 15. I'm not really a big lip product person so I end up using Carmex like other women use lipgloss or lipstick. I love it and use it every day! It leaves a nice, non-sticky layer of chapstick on my lips that lasts through eating or drinking.
I wish I could give this product a 3.5. I like the smell, how well it foams, that it takes off all my makeup, and that it keeps breakouts at bay. It's also very easy to find and very affordable. I used it about 5 months and finally stopped because I noticed I was still oily but that I had dry patches. I switched cleansers and my face looks alot healthier now. I'd use it again short-term like to clear up a nasty breakout, but not long-term. This is definitely not for someone with dry skin!
I used this mascara for about 2 years and loved it! It does a great job separating, adding volume, and lengthening my lashes. The problem I have with it is that in the past few months it has been irritating my eyes. I wear contacts and finally figured out that mascara was causing irritation to my eyes. I stopped wearing it and noticed that the irritation went away. I'm sad to be leaving it and hopefully I can find a cheap alternative
Toners -Unlisted Brand - Sea Breeze Astringent-Original Formula
AJ3141 8/23/2012 3:54:00 PM
I have been using this astringent for a year and I love it! I buy the original version (not the Actives that is found in stores) on Amazon. I get a 3-pack for $18. One bottle lasts about 3 months with nightly use. I personally really love the smell of it, although it is very strong. I use it at night following my cleanser and it gets all the leftover makeup off my face. It has a menthol feel (from the peppermint oil and camphor) that I enjoy. I used this leading up to my Accutane treatment on my back and it was the only thing that worked to clear up my bacne (Accutane got rid of the rest of it). I hope they continue to make the original formula which I find better at clearing breakouts than the Actives version. It leaves my face feeling clean and fresh. I love it!
Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
AJ3141 8/23/2012 3:49:00 PM
I have been using this scrub for over 5 years. When I use it consistently, I notice a decrease in breakouts. It can be harsh when used on the face, so I like to mix it with my cleanser (currently Cetaphil Gentle) to tone down the roughness. That way I still get the acne-fighting benefits, but there's a buffer. I like to leave it on for a minute or two to let the salicylic acid have a chance to work. It works well on body breakouts and general body exfoliation too. I use it on my chest, arms, and shoulders a few times a week and my skin is left soft and smooth. I use it on my bikini line pre-shaving and I don't get any razor burn. It also makes a great foot scrub! It's very cheap and even though I use it every time I shower in some way, one tube lasts months. It's definitely one of my favorite drugstore finds and I will use it forever!
This is my favorite soap! I've been using it for two years and even was able to use it on Accutane! It has never dried out my skin. It leaves it clean, soft, moisturized, and smells amazing. I also like the original dove bar, but I prefer this one since the scent is a little stronger and lingers a bit. I can use this on my face to take off makeup and it doesn't clog my pores. I use it to shave my legs (it lathers very well with a loofah) and never get razor burn anymore. It is very cheap--you can get an 8-pack of bars for $8 at Target or Costco and each bar lasts me 2-3 months. My HG body soap!
